20:15 Found this one just on dusk and after having a nice meal, without the kids. Took about 3-4 minutes to find. There was so many people around (probably due to the Louis Vuitton Cup), but grabbed it while Michelle warned me if any muggles were about to surprise me.

Just have gone to log this one and saw that it was archived!! I put it back where I found it, the clue was not too bad (Yes Black not Green)...but maybe it needs to be relocated.

Ummmm... we found it!
Didn't know it had been archived so went for it. It was actually an easy find.
Will email cache owner with details... Smile

19-Feb-10
Another visit this time in a quieter time. Still no cache to be seen. Given all of the finds I suspect I am looking in the wrong place. But then again I could be blind or stupid.

19-Feb-10
Or it is gone.

18-Feb-10
I think it is gone. Or I looked in the wrong place.

18-Feb-10
Checked this one again today and it appears to be gone. Constantly being a problem and vanishing regularly, so have decided to archive it.

06-Feb-10
Finaly after numerous walk byes over time. A gap in the mugles made for a quick grab. TFTC.

05-Feb-10
Was there after repainting?

Found at first light this morning while out for a run. TFTC.

01-Feb-10
it was a beautiful day and everyone was hustling about, then it rained. But it didn't seem to stop anyone.
Took a bit, but eventually made sense of it all, and found the lil' bugga. TFTC
Nice Vessel.

Keep up the Hunt!

31-Jan-10
Interesting cache? Placed by a VK in ZL land. The green colour is not quite kiwi, so it's now black, and I suspect the cache went during this makeover!

30-Jan-10
Yes, I noticed that also - placed by a VK in ZL land (ham radio talk for you who are not hams) - we looked and looked and did I say we looked! We also finally figured out the colour change (we think) but still felt we searched pretty good (considering all the muggles). That is ok, we liked Aukland! K7QNZ from Montana USA

My sister (Moshima – Utah USA) and I (MrGrubstake – Montana USA) flew to Sydney for three days, then took the “Volendam” cruise ship around New Zealand for two weeks (we found at least one geocache in each of seven ports of call) and back to Sydney. We then rented a caravan for two weeks wandering up the eastern coast enjoying a new country to us and finding many geocaches along the way. We quickly grew to love both countries! Thanks go to all the local geocachers who placed caches to make the trip even more wonderful.

24-Jan-10
Could not find despite thorough search. Lot of muggles. Has it been re-painted?Not colour we were expecting

20-Jan-10
The cache eluded me today.

15-Jan-10
Was a bit gross grabbing it - a lot of mess nearby

15-Jan-10
Stopped to tie a shoelace and, well, there it was! Plenty of muggles milling about wining and dining on a stunning afternoon. TFTC!

14-Jan-10
Took some touristy photos to detract from grappling behind. Was rewarded with some sticky-ish fingers for the effort :S TFTC

11-Jan-10
An interesting monument to rich mens games with more money spent on lawyers than the boat in all probability. TFTC, Biggles.

11-Jan-10
Lots of muggles about, but was able to grab the cache, sign and return it without too much difficulty. Thanks for bringing me to this interesting spot. I'm here on holiday from the US. SL. TFTC!

06-Jan-10
Just after arriving from the Netherlands, we tried to find our first cache. We haven't found it because of the limited time we had the first evening in New Zealand. On 7-1-2010 we we found our first caches GC14KBM and GC146GH.

04-Jan-10
It took us a few minutes to find this one as the hint sent us in eh wrong direction. It was when I discovered a knew coat had been applied that the cache was easily retrieved.

I remember the fuss around this particular series.

Logbook replaced and cache checked.

30-Dec-09
Was up Early this morning and decided to knock off some of the city caches before the parking spaces filled and the tourists woke up. Nice quick easy find. Third magnetic key holder found this morning. TFTC

27-Dec-09
This was a good cache. Found it with out much trouble, but plenty of muggles around. The log sheet has seen better days, might be time for a change. TFTC

25-Dec-09
Very tricky area to search and replace with all the smugglers around, even on Christmas' Day!!!

24-Dec-09
So good that I have my dictonary right by my side!
Because of that I've found the cache very quick!

Thx

Have to record a DNF for this one. We were right on the money but the place was crawling with emergency service staff which made even being there pretty impossible. Found out in the newspaper the following day why there was so much activity.

15-Dec-09
#3 Good hide and a great boat. The morning traffic was still light so it was easy to poke around. An easy find and then off I continued on my caching tour of NZ.

12-Dec-09
This was a bonus cache for our team because we met rieglerp and ckappel here and made plans to go to the Christmas event with them! Caching is great for more than a walk and a search; it creates community amongst all us outdoor geeks! TFTC. NOTE: Follow up/additional info beyond the original cache description was helpful as circumstances surrounding caches can change with time. Read carefully.

12-Dec-09
Headed into town to collect some caches. Arrived at GZ, muggle city...! Searched and searched some more, then Indiana Jill had it in hand, with a voice saying well done, ya a fellow cacher. Thanks for the adventure this gave us. TFTC!

07-Dec-09
Finally got this one. Took me a while to find a time without too much muggles around.

06-Dec-09
Our cruise ship the Sun Princess was moored close-by. Visiting from Phoenix, AZ, USA. Thanks for getting us to see this boat.

Yet more muggles

30-Nov-09
After a quick search found it no problem, boat definitely looks big from underneath!

29-Nov-09
Had a look yesterday morning when muggle levels were ideally low, I was in too much of a hurry to get a ferry to Devonport and lucked out. A chat with a local cacher confirmed I was on the right ‘tack’, so returned today for another shot. SL1141hr TFTC

24-Nov-09
Yes! Finally !!!
Last time over the ditch from OZ (about 11 months ago) there was too much vomit [xx(] to probe for the cache.
Back in Auckland again, and we had a quick (and clean Big Grin ) find.

23-Nov-09
At my second try...Now the work in the area is finish..so More easy to found...and in the morning there is less poeple in the area...TFC

Our first find with the Nottinghamers - new converts to the world of Geocaching. Had to wait until after we had eaten and it was a little darker as there were a lot of muggles about earlier in the evening.

Quick and easy find. Thanks.

31-Oct-09
We had just arrived some hours before, coming from Germany. As we better didn´t to go bed already in the afternoon, we walked a little bit into town and harbour. This was the first cache, that we found here in NZ. But it was hard work! Eyes almost closed, stumbling around due to the fatigue, we finally found the cache.

TFTC #543 (our 1st cache in New Zealand Smile )
Many Greetings from Hamburg, Germany!

31-Oct-09
After a very long journey (which, according to the clocks, took two days) we arrived in Auckland. As we didn't want to give ourselves up to the jet lag, we went on a short trip into town - and this was the very first cache we found in New Zealand (after two unsuccesful tries on other caches, but we had only _very_ short cache listings and so might have missed some information).

Thanks for the cache!

PS. For the Geochecker back home in Germany waiting for a message from us: Ja, danke, wir sind gut angekommen.

30-Oct-09
Found it but as others mentioned, the hint isn't totally valid now and the supporting structure has been repainted black. If you look closely, you can still see some green paint.

24-Oct-09
Found while wondering Auckland on last day of holiday. Nice hide. Descripiton and hint need updating as there has been some changes to the display. TFTC.

16-Oct-09
We did not find this one - as mentioned on previous logs - the display had been repainted. we thought it had perhaps been moved whilst being painted. Missed this one - never mind - lovely area though. Thanks

16-Oct-09
Please excuse the late log. Caching with Luvbassn from the Star Princess. Internet time on the ship is $.75 a minute and just arrived home last night (November 1st). Thanks for the quick find near the ship.

16-Oct-09
Had to look twice to find. Area has been painted and hint not valid. but geosense won out. TFTC, SL

16-Oct-09
Thrown off the scent as the clue item is missing and the colour mentioned has been changed to black. met an other cacher from the Star Princess and together we figured it out. Nice place for a cache .

16-Oct-09
Visited while here on the Star Princess prior to going on a great tour with coast2coast tours. Met another couple who were looking for it at the same time. Had a nice chat with them. Always nice to meet fellow cachers from other countries. TFTC

Relatively quiet here this morning, and I know how noisy it can get down here, but still needed a bit of a distraction provided by Yeetrees and camera.

23-Aug-09
Wow, have being wanting to visit this spot for ages to see the boat that was involved in the Americas cup, finally had the chance, a camera in hand does help, as it kind of puts muggles at unease and they seem to move away from GZ very quickly, while I was taking photos ADV managed to find the cache quickly, sign and replaced without any issues, the history and information around here is impressive, will bring wife back here to look at it more as she is very interested in yachting, TFTC TNLNSL (934)

a lot of muggles around....

21-Aug-09
Found it ! First in my "Business trip to Auckland sneaking out in the early hours of the morning caches".
Quite straight forward with the hint, a few muggles around, but all too drunk or too busy financially transacting to care.

I found it! I've stood here many times before including as part of another cache. Its always great to find a cache in area you've been before.

It was nice to meet a couple of other fellow cachers too.

This is our #30!
The clue seemed so clear - got there, felt, rechecked clue & co-ords then a pleasant fellow said we weren't going to find it since he had moved off to sign the log! Nice to have met you! TFTC.

#263. Mr Northwood was in Auckland for the day - something he tries to avoid! But had time for a spot of caching before work...
We've been and gazed at the big boat before - it's great that it's there. And always enjoy a walk around the Viaduct Harbour.
Many places this could have been - needed the clue. Nice hide.

16-Jul-09
Hi found my first cache with Tara Wink, but I was caching before with my dad a couple of times in Germany. We had to wait for about 5 minutes because there are many muggels around. It was easy to find but to put it back was easier.
