Well this one is a toughy- a fair bit of disturbance in this area since EQ so it may need some maintenance done on it ?
We thought Y and got no where - surrounding area is in a bad way wet in particular Might give it another go some time if and when it had dried out
Probably just one too many for the day Little G Magic Little G falling into the swamp was definately the low point for him.

Quick find before the rain put caching on hold for the day. Nice and peaceful area.
A quick find in the early morning dark, in an area that was my childhood playground way before the walkway was put thru.

Lovely area, peaceful although close to the road as the cygnet flies. TNLN. TFTC.
Went out with Team Tasker and some other friends - twelve of us in all and found the cache (with some help from some other geocachers who happened to be there at the same time). Lots of fun and a nice day out after being stuck inside with the wet weather.
This was a great spot for a cache, - took some hunting in very muddy conditions. We left a blue plastic monkey.
Took Will Turner key ring, met some other cachers while searching.

Hmm ducks ducks and ducks...Looking for a swan however none about.
Anyway nabbed a cache, just as good!
Thanks for the cache.

Found with McWindeLunex7 on another great day around Chch. If my field notes are accurate, this one had a wet log which was difficult to sign. TFTC!
So I have a etrex Vista C, and when competing against all those Oregons and the information they provide I was certainly caching on the back foot. Someday I might make another giant leap forward in technology, just as I did long ago when moving on from a bright yellow etrex. Anyway, out on muddy riverbanks and caching - found ducks, trees and cache. Thanks El.
Off in different directions but the cache was still found............encouragement?? Ok, that's what it was then.
Thanks for the smiley

3140. [font=Comic Sans Ms][green]It always intrigues me as to how the arrow reacts differently on the same machine/s. Between the 5 of McWindeLuneX7 we have 3 Oregon 300s and a 450 plus (sorry Rex it's slipped what your Garmin is). In saying so we ended up splitting up to follow the arrow. A couple of us ended on the correct side of the stream while those on the other side yelled encouragement. (At least I think that it was encouragement!)

(45) Went the wrong way to start with, but a nice walk.. Found it pretty fast once narrowed in on it.. Dropped of Sheep Luca TB.. SL. Cool spot..
We almost missed this one but once we got closer we narrowed in on it. Attracted the attention of a whole lot of ducks. Should have brought some bread for them. TFTC.
Found with Gottaway and others. Straight to it. While the clue helped me go "Yeah, that will be the right spot" it was also one of those 'obvious to cachers' spots, and as another cacher mentioned, something's "not quite right" there that we'd recognise and should realise is the cache.
Found it with friends.Lovely spot.No cygnets today just lots of ducks.Thank You for the find.
Looks like a nice little walk, even though we just did a tiny bit of it. The description misled us at the start of our hunt, but then we trusted our GPS and got to the right spot, where Annie spotted something that wasn't quite right. So there was the cache just as it should be! - Blue Lips Geocoin. TFTC
Nice walk along the waters edge to get to the cache, never been here before, thanks.left GC.TFTC
Good Coordinates and a good place for a cache. Hints helped

found with rajwill. fantastic spot if you dont think about it you could almost not realize you were in chch. accidently went on the wrong side of the river but soon figured that one out.
I got the right side of the lake this time! Nice walk in an area I didn't know about before. Thanks!
A nice long walk, it would have been shorter if I was not with relbo!! TNLN TFTC
Quick find once we were looking in the right place! Some stinging/spiky plants with tiny barbs down by the water so take care in the search. TNLN thanks!
It really is a help with the little ones along. They seem to enjoy the hunt as much as anyone. Specialy when they find befor granddad.
The geo-family had a very nice walk with geo-grandparents in tow. I think grandad is of to buy a GPS now. Good luck Emulous! Geo-son found the cache easily enough which made him very happy after his geo-sister beat him to the last find. TFTC.
A bit tricky to find this one as we followed the wrong track to start with. Back tracked a little and and easily found the cache with Emvy-Us and Learner Tiurner. TFTC
This one fooled us for a while. Got lots of scratches, and then realised where we should be! Found it in the end. TFTC
A hot blustery Canterbury day today. Found whilst biking home. Great place to stop, thanks.
Great walk in and wonderful spot for scenery, picked up the bug and moving on!! Watch this space...
Found along with 2 apprentice cachers today. Lovely spot.
Note.. i did not find the FREE geocoin in this cache, but we did find KIWI ROVER GEOCOIN, which was Not logged into this cache !
It may be that someone forgot which coin they put where, when logging their visit.
Anyway I have taken Kiwi Rover coin and Left the .Nordic Troll TB

This was the first geocache I did on my own and I also introduced my two brothers to it, mental note, when geocaching in the dark, it helps to take a torch, maybe next time.
Took Geocoin and left Erik Jeep travel bug.

GPS was putting me in two different locations - common sense said "keep to the track" which was ONE of the places I was being led. Another place saw me closer to water. In neither place could I find a cache, this time.
A nice park bench here to enjoy lunch on. Pleasing to walk through a forest in a relatively 'original' condition. Left guitar TB, which has already been found it seems.
Found after a little hunt.A muggle across the stream was watching us.so another stealthy manoeuvre was made.We left Carlos Spencer, hope he enjoys his trip.Retreived Neo-Geo TB

Quite a long search, but succesful. Approach from the south if you dont want muddy feet, track north is very muddy. Travel bug still in place as not travelling.
We tried this one a long ago when we were very new at Geocaching - our second attempt was a lot more successful! Spotted the spot rather quickly, and can't believe how we didn't see it before, showing that a little experience helps! Dropped off a TB and escaped with only a few scratches. TFTC!
Found a track in half way down track.Quite wet but found no trouble. Dropped off Power of 12 TB. Dropped off Speed Racer Retreived Speed Racer.
Decided to pull out the GPS and do a Geocache for the first time in about 3 years. Nice easy one to get back into it.

Another nice easy find in this picturesque area.
Found by Myself, LilSpiker & Bruiser without any difficulty but having to be mindful of potential mugglers feeding the ducks nearby.
Good Coordinates and a good place for a cache.
Took Nothing - Left Nothing.

Many Thanks for the cache.

Found it eventually not without getting a thorn or two. Left a travel bug that I brought from England via Hong Kong that wants to travel further East.
Found after a bit of looking around - had to use the clue in the end. No sign of the travelbug at all, and not many swaps inside - maybe someone hasn't yet logged their find, or it's been plundered then replaced? I wish I'd taken some more things with me to put in, but wandered over from our home in Avondale and was 'travelling light'. Take a bit of care as there are some new blackberry shoots starting to come up in the area. Will come over and pick up the geocoin again if it's not moved on soon.

No luck here. Am guessing it was in the obvious place... couldn't find it though.
A nice area to go for a bit of a wander. Found the cache easily enough. but it wasn't too easy. TFTC.
A quick find in 10 minutes I had before seeing a movie at the Palms. I love the location for how much the area has changed and developed since I played there as a boy. TFTC TNLN
So many ducks (and duck by product). They seemed so cute having a morning snooze it was a bit rude to walk amongst them and make them shuffle on, but little plastic boxes wait for no man! Hang on, that's not quite right, anyhow, made the find with no interruptions. Swapped one small duck TB that I just picked up with the large duck TB in this cache. Cheers.
Once we managed to find a way in, it was only a short walk to the cache.Quickly worked out where it was, and managed to retrieve and replace it without nearby muggles noticing. TFTC

Quick find by Mr TT whilst Mrs TT was away beating the Australians at the orienteering challenge up at Craigeburn. Found with foot - ouch!! TFTC
Quick find. Walked the whole track and well worth it. Huskies nearly killed a few ducks, still hopeless at locating caches, must think of a training plan! Left fridge magnet, took nothing. TFTC
Only had 20 minutes available for this one before picking up the girls from QE2. Having seen the last couple of logs I thought I would be late. Found the quick way in but near gz I found a muggle feeding the ducks. So I said "Gidday" and walked straight past him, he payed me no further attention and the cache was in-hand quickly. Loved the area, great walkway. Arrived at the pool with 3 minutes to spare. TFTC.
Had a nice quiet walk with Mrs BaldEd from the Avon River end of Horseshoe Lake Reserve only to find that a pair of muggles were picnicing at the nearby. Walked right past them without them seeming to notice, then spent some time waiting for the gps to settle down. First it was 1m over here, then 17m over there, then 8m that way, then 4m this way. Blah humbug! Read the hint but couldn't decrypt the meaning. So resort was made to old geocache seeking tactics with the hiking pole and the cache was soon found. TNLN Thanks for the cache. Walked back past the loving couple and they still didn't notice our presence.
Wow. Hardest part was finding the way in. Local knowledge can be helpful, and I had none. Went for a futile walk at one stage but enjoyed it - what an interesting combination of flora! When I managed to find the right entry point, I allowed the DNF log to cloud my expectations and spent time getting muddy and frustrated. Finally giving up, I decided to see if I could walk the GPS to 0 by going the other way around. Well, what do you know? Suddenly an easy find Lovely cache.
What a beautiful area. Thanks for bringing me here. A quick find but had to wait about 20 minutes after writing in the log as a young family turned up and commenced to play Tarzan on the trees leaving me waiting and waiting and their mother wondering what on earth I was doing just sitting there pretending to fiddle with my GPS. TFTC Hatas
Yep, you have to get to the right spot to grab this one, some muggles, but they were busy feeding the ducks.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Nice cache, got some good pictures of the swans. Took headphone set and left nice tripod flashlight. Also left 3 travel bugs.

No luck for me. Coordinates were 10m out at the bridge, and this is as close as I could get to GZ. Couldn't find anything there, but wasn't too keen on getting all muddy either.
Our guest geochacer Sam found it after great perserverance. The blackberries and nettle had put the rest of us off. Grabbed the coin for moving on, TFTC,
Found on way home from the dog groomers. Rosies first cache. She went straight to it and sat. Is this a good omen or what. No sign of the geocoin but I wasn't exactly looking for it. TFTC TNLN.
