I think it might need maintenance theres a lot of fallen trees might be buried under them or moved
Damn, pretty sure I was at the right punga, but too much debris made for a tough search... will be back with Kezzle33 and her eagle eyes ....
After Harker's Keylev and I decided to grab the surrounding caches in the area.
As the previous cacher mentioned, there has been some tree chopping. However, it was a lot further back than I would have expected. Widen my search and found the large cache beyond the tree chopping.
Thanks

Was a bit worried by all the fallen trees and such at the GZ, but I found the cache safe and sound. I would say it is now three pungas back.
Thanks for placing!
I gave the cache a little clean up.

No joy here today for us. Only DNF of the day, will come back in full daylight for another look.
On a girls' road trip to Port Waikato with Supernanny, Nette1234 and Jag50. Seeing a dnf here we weren't sure we would find this but we spread out searched systematically and eventually Supernanny spotted the cache. We had to go a lot further than 2 punga trees off the track though. Someone had managed to lose their red underwear nearby!
Heading to Port Waikato with Merlot58, Supernanny and Nette1234 for the day, we detoured to collect this cache. With 4 sets of eyes and a systematic search, we located this cache under a lot of natural foliage and much further into the bush than we were expecting.
Did the full loop around. Nice bush walk. This took us a while to find. Further back than expected. Plus GPS was bouncing around. Cache quite wet inside. Tftc
Found while on a trip north with tmann421.
Enjoying discovering the areas and finding some caches.

So many pungas, we just couldn't find the right one. Great excuse to come back.
Encouraged the two grandchildren out of the house to help me with this. We stumbled around from punga to punga for a while before the 7-year old noticed it. Thanks.

Thanks for bringing us to this great little bush walk that we all enjoyed. We had Tinytree and friends find the cache and signed all of us in although expect this will be the only log. TFTC.
Thanks ZorkV.
Really enjoyed coming somewhere new.
Nice stop off on drive to Huntly from Auckland....
Loved the longer walk!
Many thanks....

Cache needs to dry out. Trackable is missing. Easy to find if you know where to look
Nice size and hide .no trackable found in here but we left one behind
3 of us here.so 3 finds

A good find and great clue. Great area to explore and able to add 3 more finds to our tally.
Once I realised the size of the cache it was an easy find. Thanks for bringing me to this peaceful place. TFTC.
Cool find! GPS slow through the tree tops, second punga heading off the trail. Added a little gem
This whole area was so interesting, full of ghosts! Once under the trees, I wanted to find the caches quickly....luckily remembered the CO's modus operandi, and struck the right spot. Tucked cache away snugly to wait for the next visitor. TFTC
It was good to do another Zork cache so far from home picked up a Tb look forward to seeing you back in the Naki TFTC
Found after a short hike along the path. All good here and great to see a decent sized cache. Dropped in a TB.
A last minute change in the family's plans for today meant I had an unexpected few hours to myself. Mulled over the options for getting out and about, given the weather wasn't great, and decided on a country road tiki tour picking up a few caches that I've been meaning to grab for a while. I parked near the cemetery and popped out on the path not that far from another nearby cache. Wandered along here, enjoying the walk, GPS had me going in circles for a bit, until I finally saw something likely which fitted with the hint. Success! Signed and replaced, thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the hide.
Over to the Waikato as we were to meet up with son No2 who was in Mercer for a bit of Moto-X. Had some time to burn off so a bit of caching time could be claimed. This was found pretty quickly
Nice Sunday stroll in the area. Enjoyed this container so much. Took one TB. All good at GZ. TFTC
Nice walk through the trees though was raining a bit. Relatively quick find. Dropped off a couple of TB's.
Heading south from Auckland to the Central volcanic region on a grey day. Called in to this historic site for a short visit. Took a while to locate this cache in the forest. Many thanks for placing.
Very interesting history, thank you for bringing me here! Took ages finding the cache, but got there in the end TFTC
Out for a day of Christmas shopping and caching with kiwipeats and found this one before we headed back home. A lovely little walk. TFTC.
Out caching with NZpom who spotted this one amongst the bushes. Nice trail, and nice to find a good size cache.
Been on the bucket list for an age. So happy to visit and make a quick find today as hubby had a business trip into pukekohe . Twisted his arm and came up with a smilie thx.
It took us a while to find wrote a note. Lots of little trinkets in this. Kids had fun. But it was mum who found it
An Ponga? Google images... Ah, that is a ponga...
We found the cache quickly and were glad about such a big cache with lots of swappables in it. A real treasure, the kids loved it.

GPS was all over the show and started on the wrong side of the path but glad we stuck with it. Thought it'd be quicker to locate a 3L!
Took us ages to find this one! So many pongas! Didn't help that we started looking on the wrong side of the track. TFTC
Disappointed not to have found the popular cache nearby I took this one as a consolation. Wandered round in circles but found after a short while. Tftc.
Took me a few minutes to track this one down since I didn't know what a Ponga was (until now). Cache was completely out of sight where it was placed. Great spot. TFTC!
Took the grandchildren for a cache find. We found this long ago. Cache is still there and alls ok.
Nice walk. Have to bring Max the dog back for a wander. Nice camo. Cache is a bit wet inside
After having found the nearby cache "Ponga at the Redoubt" by taking a shortcut straight through the bush to it from the cemetery, I walked back along the track towards this one. A quick find and a nice big (my favourite) container type. I then continued on and was eventually brought out to the road where I should have started in the first place. Signed log, TFTC
As long as I was going down to Two-a-cow to find the two new puzzles, I thought I should try this one, too. I had no trouble until I got near GZ. I tried to apply the hint, but there were way more of these that the hint needed. so I had to resort to a methodical search pattern until I found the cache. TFTC.
Thanks Zork V for bringing us here. We had a lovely stroll along the path with au.fait and a few muggles. Found the cache, logged the find.
After a great morning in the Waikato completing the new Waikato River Walkway series we stopped in Tuakau for just a few more caches on the way home (well, kind of on the way home...!)
Walked along the path and quickly came to the area we thought we needed to be in, found some hint items but after a search realised we needed to go deeper and finally found the cache. This is a very nice park, great views across the valley and the river. TFTC!

Found it, but it was empty, no log book or anything... unless I found something else not the cache ha ha. Returned it to where I found it.
Hadn't realised this was disabled so had a look for it - we did find a silica pouch at our GZ which we assumed was originally in the cache.
Starting out for a weekend of caching following the back roads to the off the beaten track caches - the kind we really enjoy. Found this little cluster at the start of our trip so a morning walk was in order. Wow isn't this area cool.. sadly the cache container had gone and the cache contents was just sitting out in the open at the base of the clue item ( small mercy they left the cache contents i guess..)
Out for a short walk with dad which turned into a native tree lesson. He found this one quite quickly
I think the ammo box has gone walkabouts- it is now a poly bag.
Great location, another unknown part of the area I have lived in for 30 years!

After having no luck with the well camo'd large cache near here I thought I would take a stroll and see if I would be more successful with a regular sized one - turns out I was!
Cache was found quickly but unfortunately it is only a plastic bag - the ammo can has been taken . Shook out some of the water, log book slightly damp but still fine. There is even swag there still - why would anyone just take the container??!!! Sorry I had nothing spare with me to help out.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Found with Baby Hobbit. Sadly the ammo case has gone missing but plastic bag well hidden. Probably needs a new container to preserve the contents. Was fun showing my 83 yr old dad how to Geochache with modern technology.
The ammo box was missing but we found wat looks to be the contents still on a bag.
Could not find it - the area we were looking looked well explored however but no luck
