Taking a break in the photo shoot thought I should open the app only to find I am sitting near one. Thanks for the hide.
#7685Its MEGA time once again, this time in the Capital! Day 5!Quick grab while walking through Aranda! Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Sol de lune
In Canberra for the mega. Out for a walk with Team737 today and finding a few in the area. The weather is brilliant and we are having a great time. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
#7665 Were caching around Canberra with Mighty Minions today, grabbing specific DT squares as we go. Found on the way back from the poo! Thanks for the cache!
Massive caching days continue. My online logs do not match with days found simply because I cant keep up with online logging sorry. My alliance of 5 all from WA are three young fit boys and two less young ladies who try to keep them honest. We have been up trees and ladders way more than I like and, like all geocachers who insist on wearing shorts in hot weather, our legs are ripped to shreds from hiking. Logging WAC since the three boys usually cache with a fourth called the Cockburn Crew based on their LGA. Having an almost totally cleared map locally, its difficult to explain the excitement of having a map that has caches literally everywhere. Ive cached in Canberra once with my partner and also at the Queanbayen mega but theres still so many to find. Long days and during the few hours allocated to sleep Im so sore I barely sleep anyway. Thanks so much for your contribution to making the days so exhausting and enjoyable. Much appreciated!
Out and about again, headed around Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WAC to save time. This is 14496, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to Sol de lune for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Easter 2024 (GC9PNFB): - 5 day event at Canberra Park adjacent to EPIC (Canberra Showgrounds) on the Federal Highway, only 6km from the centre of the city. The mascot for the Mega is Gangles the endemic Gang Gang Cockatoo, a bird you may see or hear while in Canberra. The official website - geobash.ozmega.com.auACT has over 4700 active caches, power trails, and over 100 Lab Adventures. Heaps of challenge caches, hikes for geocaches for all levels of skills and fitness.
Day 6 of my Canberra Mega adventure. Out caching with the members of the WAC crew. The day looks to be another sunny day, so a great day for geocaching . Very happy to claim a smiley here . WAC members- Barnzy12, Lachie1.17, legs5 and Neva2old Some logs signed as N2O or WACThis is my 12974 find Thankyou Sol de lunefor placing and maintaining this cache.
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 2 and we had an absolute blast. After being up late last night we backed it up again this morning with an early start to make the most of the cooler weather and lack of muggles in the morning cold. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed the large number of virtuals, and caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some of the oldest caches in Australia, some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WAC (WA Crew)
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Sol de lune! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
No snakes or swamps to contend with today (too cold, too early and too dry), unlike previous visitors noted. Plenty of long grass though. All good with cache and contents. Quick find thanks to the hint and accurate coords.
Saw a dead roo on the way in. Yuck. Now to find a way out of here …
Cheers Sol de lune.

In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

There are 53 metres of swamp between me and the cache. Will look for this in drier times.
Talk about high stress levels. Could be snakes at every turn. Just had to keep walking. Container a bit wet but log was dry.
Thanks For getting me out and about Sol de lune

#1888 After attending AngelG27’s CITO clearing St John’s Wort from the lower area nearby, I headed across to pick off one more cache available to me here. With the grass being higher than the hiding place it took me probably 10 minutes wandering around to find the concealment even though I was within metres most of the time. Thanks Sol de Lune for the placement and maintenance!
Today I wanted a multi for my calendar, but whatever I find will be my 11000th find. I chose this cache out of respect for the CO who has supported and encouraged me so often over the years. Thanks Sol de Lune.
It is not an overly difficult cache to find though the long grass and wet ground meant that it wasn't overly easy either. In fact I found three stumps before I managed to track down the GZ - admittedly Sam(sung) wasn't being very cooperative.
Replaced the cache and the log as they were broken and sodden. TFTC SDL SL

Thanks to Smittengranny for the maintenance completed today. Cache is all good to go and should hopefully be around for a few more years to come....
Found @1525. The whole area was covered in water making it quite damp underfoot and boggy. Container lid is damaged, and log is beyond redemption so was unable to sign (see attached photo). geo-hack waited 30-50m away on drier land since they’d logged this cache ~6 yrs ago and had felt water was seeping in to their shoes.
The ground was a bit wet for my liking, leading to uncomfortably soaked shoes. However cache was soon in hand. Log book was soaked through, so didn't sign, and unfortunately will likely need replacing.
Found after a bit of circling! The area was very boggy, the water doesn't soak in very quickly here with a base of clay. Would recommend gumboots after rain, my hiking boots were already soaked from putting together leaky weird in the creek bank so didn't matter for me. The cache container unfortunately had a cracked lid, so couldn't physically sign. Thanks for the cache in a great location, was very happy to reward my hard work of the morning with a cache in the park!
Today I combined two of my passions, bush rehabilitation and geocaching! My day started out at the Aranda Bushland, after they put out a cry for assistance for a last minute working party. With over a hundred coir logs to put out before financial year to satisfy a grant requirement, they needed all hands on deck. We put out about 50 today, to slow down water various erosion points and help with sedimentation through the construction of leaky weirs. After that, I found a cache in the bushland and then headed out to Denham Prospect to do a series I've been looking forward to for a while: All 7s Star Wars letterbox series. It was a fantastic day, with top quality people and great caches.

Nice to walk through the bush but this cache has severe after damage and should be replaced
The grass is really tall this year so I could not see the hiding spot until I was within 2 m of it. The container is broken and the log is wet and mouldy. TFTH
Very aptly named! This area bogs after rain so bring waterproof shoes. Container is cracked so cache was soggy, left it face-down to stop more water getting in.
Found it. However it, desperately needs a new container as currently has large crack allowing water to pass through.
The log was a little damp but I was still able to sign it. I'm sorry to report the cache container had a crack in it, which must be letting the moisture in. Thanks for bringing me here Sol de lune.
I found this with my family while on a very nice walk. My son did the honours. There's a good amount of birdlife around. TFTC.
Only been in here at night for another cache last year .
Was a nice stroll from the lower end with just the 50 or so Roos watching proceedings .
Thanks to sol de lune .

Nice spot, good day for a walk.
Container deteriorated and no longer waterproof however.

Found with [@coybear2000](http://coord.info/PR9547H). It was a nice afternoon to head out for a walk before hitting the shops for some supplies. There were a few muggles out enjoying the good weather, sunny but not too hot. Once at GZ we quickly had CIH. Log signed and stamped and all replaced and we headed back to the car. TFTC.
Out with [@trodectus](http://coord.info/PR8JTE0) to do some shopping in a round about way. Parked a bit away from GZ and walked. Once at GZ quickly had CIH. Log signed and returned, TFTC
Enjoyed the hike to get here and found the cache fine. Container starting to break on the corner. Might need replacing at some stage. Replaced to avoid water getting in. Tftc!
We had a nice cache walk with the family and The Heister in Aranda Bushlands. We had keept this local gem till now so there was lots to do on the cache front and we were happy to have a new cacher join us for the fun.
The girls had to unfortunately go back around the outside to meet us back at the bushland as this was off limits to the dog.
Thank you Sol de Lune for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
