Didn't find this one either, as it turns out, nirgal_au had stopped by a few months earlier to requisition this container. So there is now officially nothing to be found at this spot besides a quiet and isolated park Smile

Find # 2117

On our normal weekend caching run, SedgwickDave and I were first heading towards Yarra Glen, then doing a bit of a loop via Christmas Hills, Kangaroo Ground, Hurstbridge, Yan Yean, Mernda, Plenty and South Morang. It was a cool morning, but most of the afternoon was beautiful and sunny.

We parked the car in the nearby street and walked in towards GZ. There seemed to be lots of muggles wandering about in this parkland today. The camo on this one did have us tricked initially until we realised it was something different.

Thanks to homerjay73 for the cache.

Contents are a little damp and the log book could do with a bit of rejuvenation.

Found @1420 #1959
On another epic cache run today with caching buddy ahomburg. We had run this route before which is Yarra Glen then west towards South Morang and everywhere else in between. A good numbers today with 30 found in total and a few DNFs. An awesome day with a cool start and the forecast rain didn't eventuate so it was a rather nice and sunny at times.[^]

A nice walk into GZ from the near by street to find that the coordinates were spot on. Very nice. No one around today and a nice walk in. TFTC homerjay73. The log book was looking pretty full so a new one may be required.

Found this one today with Misselaneious. Nice spot with lots of roos & frogs. Needs some drying out & a new cammo. TFTC Cool

18-Sep-12
Found at 17:36.
Not too far from where I'm staying so too a wander down. Easy find, in dire need of a new log book and a drying out as the pages are a bit damp.
I saw a few kangaroos on the walk and the frog symphony is in full voice.
Thanks for bringing me here.

3rd for the day.. Great cache.. Wet day

06-Aug-12
So many frogs singing along in harmony. Didn't even stop as I walked by.........frustrating that I can never spot the little blighters!!!!! Think the Roos have been using the GZ as a bedroom but the cache is safe. Thanks for bringing me here-very pleasant.

Caching with the kids over the school holidays was fun, but it's really nice to get out on my own while they're at school.

First of several classic homerjay caches for the day... thankfully, no spiders sharing the hide today.

Found this while out on a caching run with Paco Aliandro and onwheels. It was a week ago. Been slow to log. Had a great night. Tftc

20-Apr-12
Nice one. Most of the camo is gone though and I did find a nest of nasty looking spiders living inside.

Thought i could park nearby judging from the maps, disappointed when i had to walk some 150 meters. Bit of a bush bash but not too hard. Saw the guardian, looks tough. SL, TFTC.

On 2011/2011 date found this one together with nadya. Walked from GL6ZQPDF and took somehow a wrong approach, so bashed through the different kinds of tall grass and rocky terrain but finally got to the GZ where cache was easily found. Enjoyed the lake views. Logbook is full - left sheet of paper as a temporary solution. Found the cache but still have no idea what does the hint mean.

Nearly bumped into a mob of around 30 kangaroos on the way to this one. They were more surprised than we were. It was great to see them. A great hide but the cache could use a bit of TLC. TFTC

Quick find once negiotated the fence to find another 100m down there was a big cutting for kangaroos. TNLN TFTC

12-Feb-11
Easy find in horribly long grass! We went up on the wrong side of the fence, realised, shimmied under (after first poking at the grass to scare away any lurking Joe Blakes!), gingerly bolted through the long grass to the cache site and realised it was an easy walk up on a track! ha ha! But what a lovely, peaceful place for a walk, so all worth it!

28/01/2011 23:06 Found: #228 This really was a way bigger walk than I thought. There appears to be construction work fences up but luckily they still had an open gate and after finding myself also on the wrong side of the fence I crossed and found the cache. Must say that it was a very easy find with the massive spoiler log below. I would rate the terrain higher especially with the long grass. TFTC TNLN SL

So Toby's 1st ended up being mine and Sam Carters first in an evening caching run.

Construction works leading upto the park didn't hamper efforts too severely, the mesh fench was ajar enough to pass through easily (though it was considerably more open on our return), and we made our way to the cache site without too much drama, even if *something* was moving about in that grass...

Cache was found rather easily, and it should be pointed out that the camoflauge is wearing off. Perhaps some repair is in order?

Lovely spot, and nearby a local mob was enjoying the late summer afternoon too.

We were a little hesitant at the beginning of our attempt on this cache as there was an awkwardly placed construction fence, but someone else had already solved that problem for us (and, it had been even more aggressively solved by the time we returned, since someone decided that they wanted to drive their car to the start of the track). All the recent rain and warmth made for lots of long grass, and so we strode through with a mixture of boldness and caution, not realising that we could have reached GZ via a track. The hide was a little worse for wear, making it less convincing that it might once have been, but still a good idea. After signing the log we enjoyed the view of the nearby lake, with its birdlife and kangaroos. It looked especially pretty in the evening light, and we regretted not having brought our picnic tea with us to have right there. Thanks homerjay73.

Headed out for a night of caching, to clean up a few in the area. Parked in the carpark and headed out to GZ using the torch to shine the way. Bit rocky under foot at some points so took it easy as I went, didn't want to twist an ankle out here. Found the cache and signed the log. Thanks for the hide.

Found at 15:25 on my first visit to this area. Definitely won't be my last visit either. Some large mobs of kangaroos on either side of the fence - just as well this park is here for them to retreat to given the amount of housing development happening along Plenty Road.

nb camouflage is looking a bit worn.

A nice east cache whose camouflage spared it the attentions of whoever used the spot for their drinking. In any case the camo does not fool the eye of the experienced cacher and it didn't take long for me to locate it today.

18-Apr-09
Found with Team Gramon, GeoJnr and GeoTilly on our first caching day out for quite a whilst. Well this was our second last cache for our trip around this area and what an enjoyable day of caching we had. If my calculations are correct this is our 499th GC cache. The penultimate before the big 500 and another spot in this area as well. It was just getting on dark and we saw a log number of kangaroos a little way off in the distance. The cammo of the cache was quite good and gave us an idea of what the remainder of Disco Stu was meant to look like. It would appear that you enjoy planning new ways off camouflage Homerjay73. Keep up the clever work. Cheers.
