Heading back to Talbot after a long day caching around Clunes, I begged muggle husband for one more cache. He reluctantly said yes so we trekked in to find the distillery and the cache. So much history here.
Been out this way a few time and only thought to check for a cache when my battery was dying. Glad to be on the ball this time!
Cool spot.
Cool to see all the wild flowers out!

Found this one on my 1000th cache! To celebrate, I have left a trackable! Tftc & interesting bush walk area!
*Found on the 22 May 2021 @ 5:40 pm.*
*Cache find # 11784.*
With my tours of Avoca and Talbot now completed, I was now on the way home but of course there is always another cache to find.
I took a detour off the main road to this one, had a bit of a look around and then went off to find the cache which I eventually did.
On my return to the car I noticed another car on the way in which happened to be Rebel Acts once again.
**Thanks to Bristlehound for placing this cache.**

With two Events in Avoca, I decided a three day trip would be great, That would give Me time to explore the area and do a handful of the many caches on offer in this region. The weather was fantastic with nice sunny days but the nights sure were chilly with ice on the windscreen each morning. I saw many places and learnt a lot of history on the trip. The Main towns I visited were Avoca, Maryborough, Talbot, Clunes and Creswick.
This was one of the caches I found in My travels. Nice location to visit.

#444! Great place to come and see. TFTC! Placed an ooshi took nothing! Paul & Nic!
So cool! Took a little bit of searching to find it. Swapped an antibacterial wipe for a cool frill necked lizard
An interesting site tucked away in the bush. We finally found to cache after widening our search to other likely locations. TFTC.
Nice cache
What a great interesting place this one is. We had to stop longer to look around.

Took us a few trees to successfully find this one! Great location and parks vic are out working on the site, it’s a cool place!
Well I finally arrived at this historic site. It was late in the day and the place was eerily quiet. Cache was in good order after 12 years. Thanks
I wandered into this patch of forest today
And found the olde Eucy distillery
I alsof found a busload of muggles from a local skool,
doing some activity that I couldn't work out [:o]
They were scattered about,
looking bored,
hiding under makeshift shelters in the drizzle ??
Any ideas ??
Anyhoo.
I managed a sneaky look for this cache,
but couldn't find it after five minutes of poking about
Time to get out of here

Such a weird little spot! What was this place. Even read the cache notes for once to try and work it out but alas seems this remains a mystery to us all. Jacko83 made the find here. TFTC
Interesting spot!
The water here brackish, but despite that the dog still ran up for a drink. Was expecting a tricky hide here with the hint, however as luck would have it was very easy.
anikano asked what the machinery was used for. Some sort of hydraulic pump?
Thanks for the placement.

Up this way from Melbourne to do some Goldfields area exploring and caching.
This was our second cache for the day after I asked Mrs P to find something interesting and historic.
A great and interesting spot Bristlehound - thanks for the cache and bringing us here.
This is why I love geocaching - finding these little hidden spots that you would drive past and not even know were there if it wasn't for geocaching.
Even had eldest child getting his phone camera out for this one - and he doesn't tend to be that sentimental! He wants to show his friends at school!

On my way to The St. Arnaud Event 2019... Why take the direct route when you can follow the potential smileys.
Thanks, Bristlehound... Another interesting item I'd never have found without Geocaching.

Found it finally! Bit hard to get local location. Took pen not working but second one there. Billy buttons and local orchids are out and beautiful! TFTC
This was my first find after being inducted into this by KazGoody. I live local and had no idea this place existed. Took nothing (except the selfie) and left nothing. TFTC Bristlehound.
Found while we were in the area such an interesting place, the youngest team member spent ages exploring, thanks for bringing us here to see some history of the area, TFTC and the fun
A great location to let the GeoMutts out for a run on our way from Ballarat to Maryborough.
The cache was an easy find and we then spent some time exploring the dam and distillery.
Thank you for highlighting this historic site that we have driven past on many occasions.

Stopped by here on our way home from an afternoon's caching in Maryborough . As we drove in to the area i was quite surprised, firstly to see this building out in the middle of nowhere , then secondly just how good condition it was in. We spent a bit of time looking around the area before looking for the cache, which was found a bit further north than my GPS said it would be but saying that it wasnt hard to locate. Thx Bristlehound for bringing us here.
Find #1989 for me. Found at 9:50 am while on an early morning trip to the area from Bendigo, taking advantage of being child-free to find some caches that required a bit of a walk. This was my sixth find for the day out of 10 target caches. While the morning was still pleasant it was quickly warming up so I was very happy to make a quick find here. And what a fantastic location! I took quite a few photos of the Eucalyptus Distillery before moving on. Thanks so much for bringing me here today Bristlehound and thanks for the cache!
We are leaving this area tomorrow so went for a bit of a drive to do some exploring. What better map to use than caching.
Loved this place. There is no sign posting to tell you it is here which is both good and bad. Not trashed with grafitti and rubbish but had to guess which track to take. Will have to come back and so some more exploring. Love it up here. Thanks for the cache and bringing this to our attention.

TFTC. After a couple of mammoth days at Mt Disappointment it was nice to only go out for a nearby cache to keep our found streak going as long as we can. The day was overcast and I went out solo. Our closest unfound is at Dunach Reserve, but with the rain overnight did not want to test the tracks. This was the next closest and a nice solid track in to the Lucy Distillery.
A part of Australian heritage that We knew nothing about. Thanks for bringing us out here

On our way home from a day out we thought we would stop at this one such a lovely spot. Would love to camp here for the night!!
Another place to call in to stretch the legs on my way home from my long weekend.
Took the wrong track at first but eventually made it to the picnic area.
There was someone camping here but I’m not sure we’re they are.
Good to see the relics in such good condition and how long till they think that it is necessary to fence it off.
GPS was bouncing around so after a search I used the clue and soon located the cache.
Thanks Bristlehound TFTC

Another piece of History we would have missed if not for caching. Nice area thanks for bringing us here TFTC
Doing the Ballarat to Maryborough circuit. OMG what a little gem. Can't thank you enough for bringing me to this wonderful place. TFTC
Thanks for taking us to the awesome spot with a great cache! Out for a full day of caching with the kids this Mother's Day, after a little hunting we found the cache in good condition and well hidden. We stopped for a little pic-nic before heading onto the next.
On our way to the Nash Bash in Clunes, we thought we might try to pick up a few more caches in this area.
Accompanied by Micaparamedic, we made our way in the hard way to this very well preserved relic. We have seen eucy vats before but never with the covers still intact and with so much accompanying infrastructure. Cache found easily and in good condition. Drove out the easy way of course - isn't that always the way.

A cool spot for a cache find with friends!
2/5/17 - A great spot that now has a smiley on the map This is one of many caches we targeted and found today.
Oh my goodness, yet another day out with the hilarious boys - Wozzle68 and Snap Happy, once again the giggles were non-stop. [^] I think we all got an education . We cached in Mt Beckworth where Pete got to show off his spectacular 4WD skills, and also cached in various spots all the way to Maryborough where we attended a dinner event.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've had a big, but generally a relaxing couple of weeks away in Victoria from SA.
Ballarat, Border track, Pinnaroo, Bendigo, Wedderburn, Swan Hill, Maryborough, Mt Beckworth and Mt Gambier are just a few of the spots I have visited during my caching trip. There was an emergency room visit, loads of driving, stacks of laughter, amazing food, lots of new learnings (oh my goodness!!), and a wonderful mix of fabulous people.
I am loving this country and getting out and about in it!
Thanks for the cache bristlehound!

A day which help many laughs and good memories. Trying to find a place which Wozzle68 still has some caches left to find.

Found with MazzyMay on a caching day. What an interesting old place. Took us a while to find the cache but got there in the end. TFTC
Bit of a Road Trip 'around the block' with SciFirulz today. We wandered around the bush for quite a while before eventually finding the cache. GPS may as well have stayed home for all the good it was. Trees are a humbug here. This is a very peaceful area and we enjoyed investigating the interesting relics nearby. TFTC

I had wanted to check out some of the gold mining back roads around Creswick and then head up to Maryborough, the history gave me a great excuse to get up here. I planned the trip as I had a day off work and the rest of the geo family were busy with other things today. I packed the geo vehicle with plenty of snacks and water for what was going to be a hot day out. I enjoyed the history here, checking out the old machinery before heading off to the cache. As I was wandering around, I thought to myself there just may be snakes in the area with the water around. How correct I was. I stepped and without seeing a thing, a big 1.5 meter brown snake popped up about 1.5m in front of me. I stopped very quickly! The snake moved forward away from me a stopped about 3 meters in front of me. I took a slow step back and the snake didn't move. I slowly kept going back before being a safe distance away. I walked around a big area to go another way to the cache and I grabbed a big stick to add extra vibrations to the ground just in case. This time on the next route, a massive orb spider blocked my path with a very strong web. Got to love the Australia Bush. I was able to move around this without harm. Now the search was on, looked in a few places before finally finding the cache. And yes my heart was still beating a little faster than normal. Stamped and replaced as found.

We found this cache to be of interest while in Clunes today, so we added it to the ones we'd visit. A very interesting place this is and obviously has a lot of history with it.
After the walk past the dam, we soon found this well hidden cache and soon had our names logged.
Thanks bristlehound for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

Road tripping with geohubby, thought we'd grab a few random caches along the way. I love the amazing places we stumble across this way. Bring a camera and a picnic...and watch out for the massive webs between the trees!!! TFTC
Quite a few mozzies today but we managed to find the cache, thanks bristlehound. Interesting area.

On our way to laanecoorie last weekend Sean.75 was adamant that he had bought me here ages ago for this cache n that I had forgotten to log it (as if!!! Lol). Today, we all came to find the cache. I would say that Sean.75 was wrong, but that would be a lil damaging for his ego, so I'll just settle for saying I was right in that I've not been here before. Lol. Tftc
