Another one to sort out these holidays!

06-Apr-22
Day 2 of a few days in Renmark checking out the sights and collecting as many hides as I can with a totally uninterested other half.

Most caches were easily found, others not so and a few had gone AWOL. A few needed some maintenance by the owners. Those have had NM logs placed on them.

No luck for us either with this one. From previous logs it has definitely gone

Has gone AWOL Sad

12-Mar-22
After a very enjoyable stroll around this historic location I was unable to find anything at my calculated GZ. Another day maybe.

No luck with this one....with the previous DNF as well I think it may be gone.

Thanks anyway....

Kudos to South Aussie Cache Owners! In the 10 weeks I have been in your state, with 51 finds and 3 Adventure Labs, this is the first that I have had to log as a DNF! I made a quick visit a few days ago and decided that the advice in the cache description was worth following. Thus, I delayed the serious attempt at this one until I had made the visit to the visitor centre where two lovely ladies printed a copy of the guide booklet with me. My CotE was interested in this history too, so yesterday we did the tour of the cemetery to enjoy the history, marvel at the calibre and resilience of some of the people interred and obtain the co-ords for the hide. We ran out of time to make the find, (the welcome and hospitality we have received from locals has been outstanding and a social commitment was the limiting factor) so I returned today in the hope of turning this to a smiley. The co-ords in the GPSr took me to a logical hide spot where there was evidence of the previous searchers who also logged it as a DNF had made a thorough search. I widened my search in the hope that I would not break my excellent run and checked every spot and hide method that I could. Regrettably I had to walk away without the find. The visit and the information provided by doing the whole walk described in the booklet meant that the exercise was well worth the effort in spite of not making the find. CO may wish to check on this one, as I believe the cache to be missing.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

05-Oct-21
Co ords found and sorted but alas no cache was too be found here today

08-Nov-20
Found on our second attempt, once we found the hiding spot only a portion of the container was visible and had to dig it out, much to the annoyance of the ants.

18-Oct-20
A nice walk around here collecting the info for the final, co ords were had and only one place seemed likely so flipped it over and sure enough the cache was found. So many ants on the cache

Today was a big day with quite a lot of driving and not a lot of caches found but all in all a bit of fun, I started and finished the day in Adelaide going via tailem bend for a bike race at the bend before heading up to berri for an event and finding a few caches around the river land before heading back to Adelaide. Total of 42 finds plus 1 lab cache to finish of a series in the Barossa.

Thanks for the cache

22-Aug-20
This weekend, I headed to the Murray Riverland around Berri and Renmark primarily to attend the celebration event, but also to join others in some kayaking geocaching adventures. I hadn't visited this region before, and I left really enjoying the picturesque nature of the rivers, the wine-growing areas, and pretty towns. I ended up visiting Kingston on Murray, Barmera, Berri, Lyrup, Renmark, and Paringa. Three other highlights worthy of mentioning was Chambers Creek, Katarapko Island, and the historical SA-NSW surveyed border area.

Today after spending last night in Berri, I met with others to group kayak the *Chambers Creek Canoe Cache* (CCCC) series. We then had time to find a few geocaches around Lake Bonney and climb a few trees outside Berri, before attending the lunch celebration event. Afterward, we detoured via *Katarapko* oldie, before heading south, and group attacking the geocaches group on Katarapko Island. A nice day to be out on the kayak and finding some geocache favourites.

I really enjoyed the walk around the cemetery today, and the trail that points out some of the interesting stories was good. There was only one answer that I had trouble on, and that was **D**. I ended up changing my answer to the younger version, although I guess it doesn't matter too much when the number is the least significant of the coordinates.

Once at GZ, I did struggle to find this one for a good 5-10 min. There just didn't seem to be much around that highlighted this cache. Eventually after near exhausting the possibilities, the cache was found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Crane2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Our first ever walk around the cemetery. All found it quite interesting. Was a good hunt and found in the end. Tftc

14-Jun-20
Came to the Riverland for the weekend to visit friends with Loulabelle994...
This was the first cache for this very chilly Sunday morning...
We donned our coats, gloves, beanies and scarf before walking around the cemetery...
There are so many little graves in this park...obviously tough times in the past...
We gathered the information and headed to GZ...
It took a little longer than it should have to locate the cache but got there in the end...
TFTC crane2, a favourite Smile

Day 3 Monash B and B

Found with mogni. After yesterday's 45 degree's we were happier today was cooler. We still got a early start to the day. Just driving around the outskirts of renmark getting all the caches i ran out of time for last trip. I got some numbers. i looked around and thought gz had changed, the logs confirmed this. Looked more in the logical spots. Then went back to the final co ords and looked harder there. Now pletlern log makes more sense. I found the ants too.

Myself and mogni came up to the river land to go to MacCabe Corner and find the virtual there plus drive the mail trail in murray sunset national park plus the 4 x 4 track in cooltong national park. The original idea was to go through to mildura but with weather 37, 45 , 37 degrees fore cast we changed plans and stayed in monash instead. Any caches that where found damaged where replaced and any logbooks found full or with 2 or 3 spaces left where replaced.

Based in Mildura with fellow geocaching -buddies Suscoe, today we headed westward and crossed that infamous border WinkWink and enjoyed a day of caching around Renmark and Berri. We always enjoy exploring old cemeteries, this multi was an ideal tour guide.

**FEEDBACK TO CO:** Ants have discovered what a wonderful nest your cache makes.

Thanks 'crane2' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.

Suscoe headed out today from Mildura for a trip to Renmark and Berri and back again.
We were in the terrific company of Phetlern.
We covered well over 360 kilometres on this trip and we saw a wide variety of countryside from sand drifts, to cropping land to scrub and beautiful green orchards and grape vines.
We saw quite a few different varieties of birds and saw the magnificent Murray River from different perspectives.
It was a much cooler day today with clouds breaking up the sunshine from time to time.

Thanks to Crane2 for this hide and wander around the cemetery.
Great to see some local history.
Some sad graves were seen here today.
A favourite from us as we always love a cemetery multi.

So Rex the Geohound was tortured all night by a possum right outside the tent. I think it was enjoying taunting him. Rex used to be a farm dog so he is programmed to kill and now he has moved to the city he would like to target possums. He has been honing his tree climbing skills and loves the smell of possums. He jumped up and down on us all night trying to persuade us to let him out to attempt the kill. Obviously we thought this wouldn't go down too well at the camp site so instead he just kept himself and us awake for most of the night...
This meant we were pretty slow off the mark today. We were supposed to be leaving the camp by 9am but this became 10am. It was a glorious morning for brekkie on the waters edge, another day that felt great to be alive.
Still managed to find most of our targeted caches, we had one dnf and replaced one in Renmark. We did manage to convert 7 previous dnfs into finds which was fab.
We had another super picnic on the bike wherigo series and stopped off for ice creams in Nuriootpa on the way home.
Again no snakes spotted, which is always good if you are me. Hound spent a lot of the time sleeping in the car taking over my seat which meant for an uncomfortable day.
It wasn't a big numbers day but still enjoyable in the warmth of the Spring sunshine.
We were working from an offline list of caches and hadn't realised that this cache was disabled since we put our Renmark list together. We therefore collected our info and headed to GZ only to find no cache. Called a previous finder who looked the cache up to see if their log would jog the memory and then we were told it was disabled. I put a request out to the CO to replace this one as we were keen to log it given the effort we had put into gathering the info. The CO gave their blessing and a new cache was placed and details including photos were sent to the CO.
We really enjoyed visiting this old cemetery and the history we gleaned from the listing. We were glad it was all in the old part of the cemetery as there was a lot of activity in the new part, a huge gathering around a grave. We think a recent death of a young person, very sad.
TFTC Crane2 and your generosity in allowing us to replace this one.

18-Aug-19
Need to disable until I can replace as I missed the boat when someone recently offered to do so!

12-Aug-19
Back today with a previous finder who confirmed the cache is gone from where they found it

12-Aug-19
CO needs to check as the cache is not to be found

03-Aug-19
Wandered around the cemetery getting the required info twice as the first time we thought we had made a mistake but came to the same conclusion second time around. We searched around our GZ for ten minutes and found nothing but a red pencil sharpener. Needs a check by the CO

A really interesting wander through here, great idea with the grave trail. TFTC

05-Jun-19
Headed to Renmark today with LLL51 as I haven't found many caches here and I wanted to remedy that. [^] Had a fun and successful day finding 23 with no DNF's. Big Grin

This was a very interesting multi in a cemetery, especially as the graves we needed to visit were "numbered" which made navigating to them that much easier. This was the first time I have come across a cemetery historic trail. Cool We gathered all the numbers worked out our GZ and after a short walk we had the cache in hand. Big Grin

The container is very brittle and has holes in it, so badly needs replacing. The zip lock bag also has holes so the cache and log is not waterproof. Sad

Thanks for the cache Crane2 a favourite for me. Smile

31-May-19
Ended up doing this one twice basically, my coordinates originally were kms away. I swear I picked the coldest day to do it also.
Container needs replacing.
Thanks for the cache and the wander around this part of local history

I was heading home this morning, back to Adelaide after an extended trip away, and grabbing just a few caches along the way that interested me.

I found this to be quite an interesting multi. It was a quick find once I focussed on the corrects spot!

Thanks Crane2 for the cache.

Thanks for an interesting cemetery cache, if we had more time I would love to do the trail, but alas, there is more of Renmark to see. Thanks for the hide.

Gah! I'm sure we just made the same error as 4Moule.. Hmm never making things easy for ourselves. Interesting all the same. After a big weekend caching the Riverland with the Geofamily I think we'll call it a weekend and head home. TFTC

I made this one a lot harder than it had to be. After many laps around the cemetery collecting info I needed finally had the numbers! Log book signed. Thanks for the multi!

*Found whilst on family holidays in Renmark*

A nice early start on a pleasant spring day in the Riverland. Out and about with Happy pants and Happy Feet. A great morning out with many laughs had and memories made. Big Grin Without Geocaching as my guide I would never have found so many interesting places on my travels.

A nice straight forward find here as we collected the required info and made our way to GZ. A most interesting cemetery.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment crane2. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin

Stamped and returned as found... Cool

**Cache Condition**: The container and log book are in good nick.
**Took**: *Nothing*

24-Sep-18
In Renmark for a family holiday for the week. So us cachers, Happy pants and Snap Happy, where up early and grabbing a few finds before the planned activities of the day. It was quiet cool this morning but we still managed to discover some good hides and had no DNF's. There was plenty of laughs and fun had, along the way.

I love wandering around old cemeteries. There is so much history to glimpse. So we strolled around grabbing what was needed to come up with some likely co-ords. Approaching GZ was near what appeared to be the rubbish/burn off pile. We search at the more obvious spots and when coming up empty handed, started searching where GZ was pointing. Surprised to find the containener in it location. Hope they don't decide to burn off shortly.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks crane2 for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Managed a nice quick find with this hide this morning while out and around Renmark with Happy Feet and Snap Happy. We set about gathering the required information and enjoyed an interesting walk around the cemetery and after a little maths we had a reasonable set of final co-ord's and wandered over to the gz and began searching about. The cache was soon found after a minute or two, thanks Crane2 for the simple little multi and the interesting stroll through the area.

ACTchil and I are travelling up to the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs and while we were here we just had to do this multi especially because this is a cemetery and I just love Cemetery, this was fun however we didn't read before we got there and realised that we should have stopped at the information centre to get the pamphlet on this cemetery however I did enjoy walking around looking at the old graves and finding all the clues. It took us about 30 mins but was worth it. tftc crane2

27-Mar-17
We thoroughly enjoyed this multi cache. There is so much history in a cemetery and so many interesting stories. Would have loved to get the brochure and do the full walk but this cache gave us a small taste. Git us wondering if we could do something similar in our local cemetery. Good stuff, thanks heaps for the effort put into this cache.

Couldn't find it more clues??

08-Sep-15
This one was on yesterday's list but we hadn't printed it out yet so it became the first for the day. In typical spring weather we tackled this one. Jumpers off while gathering the required information and then a mad dash back to the only bit of shelter when it started raining. Trying to work out the final coordinates while huddling in this small space was difficult. The wind was blowing our paperwork and the rain was coming in enough to get our legs wet. Within minutes though we were back to sunshine and headed off to GZ where a quick find was made. Bit surprised at the final placement of this one. Thanks, an enjoyable multi although we didn't get to check out as much of the cemetery as we would normally do because of the weather.

22-Apr-15
Found on a lovely day with messy61 and geokids StunkyPanda and gnomeo2007. Loved searching the cemetery for clues. Final hide had us confused for a while but it was finally found. Thanks to our good friend crane2 for the cache hunt.

Out caching with 3LG and Gwen from the x-trailers.
As found previously took trackables to visit.

27-Feb-15
Today is day one of our trip away. We set off for Berri to spend 3 days caching the Riverland area, joined by earthlight and Gwen from The X-Trailers. This was a good opportunity to find (or DNF) caches while trialling out our new tent and camping accessories, gearing up for when we head off to the QLD Mega at the end of March. We started out in temperatures of 38ºc before that first evening brought light showers, although not enough to dull the 41ºc temp for day two. Day three was a much nicer day as the day cooled down to a nice 28ºc. We managed 200+ finds on this trip. On day two we found caches in 3 states in 1 day being SA, VIC & NSW, that was quite a highlight. No snakes were spotted, guess it was too hot for them but we had one roo bound slowly across the road in front of us. Next trip back here will be with the boat, there are plenty of river caches to hunt for and naturally all the ones we didn't have time for. Was here with previous finders so it didn't take to long to get all the info needed, we love cemetery caches and this one was a nice one to do. TFTC

Today the GeoCruiser was back in for service/repairs. Surprised

We managed to head out and about and investigate some potential campsites in advance of moving tomorrow.

Some light rain about making the dirt roads a bit slippy but nothing too bad for the GeoCruiser.

No dramas with the info here, but the cache host seems to have fallen and now be amongst fallen timber. Think this GZ may need checking before they removed the whole lot. Twisted

Found during our trip to Renmark for a few days. Collected the information booklet from the Tourist Information Centre and visited all the featured grave-sites, very intrigued with the information on the history of the early pioneers.
