What was to have been a quick weekend trip to Melbourne to accompany leafotwind on his 3,000th cache find (since I had also recently completed the Victorian Premiers whereigo ) became an 8 day trip because there was a CITO [^] at Traralgon the next day which then led to Mallacoota and the Snowy Mountain Highway [^] since I couldn't legally use the Great Alpine Road as I didn't have snow chains because the boring freeway back to Melbourne and then back to Shepparton didn't sound like fun
The first day, I met my sister in Bendigo as she waited for her semi to be unloaded and reloaded, so we went op shopping in the meantime[:X] From there it was off to Melbourne and the group find of the Victorian Premiers whereigo which had taken me to many spots in Victoria [^] Then the group slogged our way up a slippery, muddy slope [|)][xx(] to get a couple of simple drive by 4 x 4 caches (when the tracks are open) before caching on into the night
I made a find on a previous DNF at Moe then it was off to Clean Up a Creek at Traralgon [^] followed by finding some bloody good caches (both containers and reasons for placement) around the area with leafotwind, NoWorries andAlphaDeltaIndigo [:X], chatting to Crisp image as the group found Wherever I Lay My Hat before Rex and I left the group, walking in the Crinigan Road Bushland Reserve at dusk[^], seeing a huge Dr21 dredger once used for coal mining and now placed at Morwell, finding a tiny grave in the middle of a shopping area , finding my 1st 3D printed cache container and then it was off to the Lakes Entrance area and wandering out on the peninsula[^]
Seeing old RAAF airfields and radio bunkers, seeing tiny country towns and meeting some great people (including an almost muggle woman and her children in Mallacoota where she had previously looked for 1 cache and who may now get into geocaching properly [^]), seeing the sun rise while surrounded by kangaroos and standing on the eastern coast of Vic and chatting with Rollmatrix throughout my time in Mallacoota and Genoa
Spending a few hours chatting with a lovely truckie, Michael [:X], who was on a wood chip run to Canberra as we traversed the countryside in the dark (after I had apologised for slowing down his fully laden rig as Harry crawled his way up a hill ) then I pulled into Cooma for a break and an EC and also found a cache, Southern Cloud, about the aircraft accident and then accidentally ended up at another memorial cache, Southern Comfort, Southern Cloud or Southern Storm, later on in the trip
Seeing brumbies amongst the snow along the edge of the road at night in the mountains in NSW [^], seeing a thermal pool early in the morning with steam rising from it in the cold air and water plants growing up from the sandy bottom [^], seeing the grave of the alleged Man from Snowy River while finding the multi The Man from Snowy River - HCPPP [^] and then chatting to SciFiRulz who I managed to sneak in a quick visit with before heading home and finding The Highest Railway Station on the way
Over the 8 days there was 9 DNFs (although I did manage to find a few on my 2nd attempts ), 1 CITO event attended and a total of 111 cache finds including 3 FTFs
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Controlled burn through the area and many trees felled. I'd suggest the co does a check to see if it is still there
I had a good look around here but as previous searcher reported there’s been a big , I presume controlled, burn here. Most of the native bush thoroughly burnt but large patch of weeds -dolicus and blackberries left untouched. The bush should regenerate if weed species are kept under control. Photo show previous hiding spot at tree in Photo 2.
Kangas11 and I were here while on our way to Moe for Cito Event. The cache seems have burnt out - need replace in different coords.
Left home this morning on my way to the Oz Geo Muster for Easter. Decided to do what any other cacher would do, and cache my way there. Today was a trip I have done many times as I travel the first leg of the journey to Eden, NSW. The difference is I am going solo, which means no family muggle members to whinge about how many times I stop.
This was the first one for the day, and took me to a rest area I have never used. Upon arrival at GZ the cache was exposed slightly. But far enough away, I doubt it will get muggled.
Thanks for the cache

TFTC, quick stop (after a u-turn) on the way home. Great to see the new Gumbuya, kids looked longingly at the water slide, shame their prices are through the roof.
As MontsII likes to watch “Hunt for the Wilderpeople” he thought he would stop and find this cache on the way home. TFTC Echo & Spice
Found at 15:30 with Sadds.

Our last cache of the day. We had stopped here on our way to Pambula two weeks ago, but it was early and the ground was very wet, so we decided to give it a miss. Today, on the way home, we did the u-turn to pick it up. A quick find once I found the geopath! Tftc
This was a quick find today on the rain, the area is much less creepy during daylight hours my last visit here was less than enjoyable I definitely recommend to not stop here after dark. But during daylight hours it's a great little rest stop thanks for the hide
Found on 7 Jan 2018 at 5:17 pm.
It had been a few weeks since Fleabag and I had headed out on a caching afternoon so we planned a couple of required D/T square caches and then did some free-styling of the area after that and ended up doing the excellent Bunyips and Billabongs series. Had a great time with no DNF's but quite a lot of flies at times.
On the way home now and I saw this on the side of the highway so we checked out the new slides (from outside) at Gumbuya World then headed to this cache and made a fairly quick find. After which Fleabag realised he had already found it a couple of years ago!
Back at the car park a guy was taking his lawn mower out of the boot, we didn't bother hanging around to see what he was going to mow because there was a LOT of it to do! He would have been there until after dark. Maybe he was just a mowing enthusiast.
Thanks Echo & Spice for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Found on the way home from attending the 2017 Alexandra MEGA with gwd.aussie.
Had discovered this cache with gwd.aussie years ago when I was still just a muggle. Today on the way through there was some interest in the new works happening at Gumbuya Park and decided to take the side road. Took this opportunity (after years of driving pass on the Highway) to stop and officially claim the find.
Thanks Echo & Spice

YAY - found it today . The hide was easy to find BUT the Muggle traffic coming and going made it tricky to head into the bush for the search without being watched. Glad I was attempting this in daylight - I would need a very good torch to try this at night - too many bits to trip over. Thanks Echo & Spice for setting this one up. Retrieved "Bamboo The Panda" cache buddy to move on to a new cache.
My Haiku Attempt :
I tried to cache,
The bush beckoned and called.
Off with GPS to GZ

I was passing through this area late at night and thought I'd give this cache a go, do NOT stop here at night. Dodgy and aggressive people were here, if you see an old gold coloured car parked anywhere near there do not stop.
On a side note, it does look like a lovely area and I will be back during daylight hours to try and get this cache

Stopped here today on a trip to Melb. The area was busy but thankfully no one seemed to care about me wandering off into the bush. The cache was found easily in the third area I tried. Thanks for showing me this area I never knew it was here!
Found this on the way back home with jbro. The old highway I used to travel 25 years ago and forgot about with the new freeway. Dropped two TB's. One TB still in cache.
Tree lopping/clearing happening right at GZ. Hopefully they won't see/remove cache.
Nice quick find! Left a trackable, hoping to get it to China! TFTC

Found quickly but I was followed in by a guy who was trying to solicit dodgey favours from me. Gross gross gross.
Note to self - stay away from rest stops!!
Cache in good condition otherwise.
Thanks

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches. I usually cache on my own but sometimes I will collect my nephew stinky bob and my brother stinky tom who both enjoy this hobby.
A big thanks goes out to all the cachers and cache owners without whom this lifestyle would not be possible.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

A quick stop on our way to sale. Nice to stretch the legs and of course find a cache. Tftc
Been meaning to call in here to get this one. Found with giraffe_legs help. Dropped off tb. Tftc
On my way to East Gippsland a quick stop for my first of (hopefully) 10 to make my 400.
A few people about but managed to avoid them & the plumbers clearing a drain & got back to the car just as a bus load of footy players pulled into the car park.

Found with Cracka1 first day of our road trip. Quiet car park today. Last time we attempted there were campers here. Lots of condoms around the area.
Tftc! Stopped here for a rest many times only just tbought to check for a cache! Lucky for me there was! Hehe
This was my 5th attempt at locating this cache. The first 4 were aborted before I'd even hopped out of the car, due to the amount of muggles - and my lack of imagination in coming up with plausible explanation why I was wandering around the bush looking lost.
This time, however, GZ was muggle-free, and a quick stroll around had the cache in hand. It's been years since I last stopped at this rest area, so it was a nice place to reminisce about years gone by. Thanks for the cache

Good sized cache found after dropping the geokids off where the city meets the country.
Quick find after dropping the kids off on a girl guides camp today

After doing a partner swap at The Hamilton Cave parking area, Doug and I set off to grab some caches in the area. He had already done this one but as I hadn't, we stopped and after a short search, had the cache signed and returned and we were on our way. Thank for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Going for a cache drive,
Going to watch the ponies race hard,
Merkin of Loki sucks balls!

Compasses were going all over. Nyochi went one way i went another. She eventually doubled back and while i was searching for a cacher trail i hearthose magic words called out..
Found with my favourite caching buddy Amanda panda; the little boy in me thought up that lovely poem
Good place for a break as we all needed to use the toilet. Geokids had fun finding this one. They took a small Australia badge and left a cherry eraser and a hippopotamus. TFTC. XXX
what a lovely place to stop, have a picnic and toilet break, then discover a cache, thanks Echo & Spice for the hide

Swung by this cache having spent a few fun-filled hours in the nearby Gumbuya Park. Our eldest geodaughter went off with Daz and within a few short minutes they had found, signed and replaced. All is well in this cache however we fear for its ability to stay dry throughout the upcoming Winter. TFTC.

After a great family day at Gumbuya park, we thought what a great way to finish the day.
Fun in the sun
Legs tied and sore
But time for just one more
Sleepy drive home
Cheers for the cache.

We've tried to get this one before, but Muggles camped near GZ. An Early stop still saw Muggles, but they were distracted and further away.
A quick easy find and we were soon out of here.
Thanks for the cache Echo & Spice.
