Bridge works have been finished. Hopefully this awesome cache can be restored again. Eventhough it may look a little out of place.

16-Oct-10
Unfortunately the site of this cache is currently under repair and the the cache is temporarily disabled. Thanks very much C@H for notifying us and for all your hard work in removing the cache from its present location to preserve the cache intact. We may need to find a new location depending on how long the bridge repairs will take to be completed. Regards Rubus

13th find for the day with C@H.. Wow, what a great series of well thought out hides, loved all of these from start to finish.. TFTC Rubus SL TNLN Find #542

09-Oct-10
When we arrived at GZ it looked like we where in trouble. Construction tape up. Heavy equipment. 1/2 the walkway missing. We searched and searched and got more concerned about the cache. After some time I called a previous finder after who explained the hide. I looked around, yep it was not where it should be. Then Spladem pointed to a part of the walkway still intact but 50 meters from where it has spent all it's life. On closer inspection the cache was found still attached to the now removed part of the walkway. We thought about what to do and came up with a gameplan. Lets remove the container so it can be saved for another day. It was not easy without the right tools. Took some time and since we where near heavy equipment we decided to hide from oncoming cars. It was well past dark when we started to remove the item and it took at least 30 minutes with the lack of tools to get it off in once piece. We then dropped the cache container off at Greenies(GC1HJ06) so it can be collected by the cache owner and survive to live another day. TFTC

09-Oct-10
Foot bridge being rebuilt. Section with cache removed. Cache move to greenies up the road for safe keeping. Full details tomorrow.

09-Oct-10
We searched for quite some time, but there is currently bridge repairs being carried out at the Gz and the old timber pedestrian walkway has been removed completely and a new steel one is being installed. We think that the Gz may have been interfered with, but the cache owner might want to check it out.

09-Oct-10
Like walenator, I looked at the building works and thought the cache is either in serious danger or already gone. Didn't find it.

16-Sep-10
16th of 23 finds for the night during a night cache run with Blacklegend17. Marshy spotted a likely hiding spot even before we got out of the car. Thanks for the hide.

16-Sep-10
14th of 21 on another night caching run with my good caching mate Marty (Quasar3671). Spotted the likely hiding spot as we drove up to this one, but a good hide none the less. TFTC.

27-Jul-10
Found on another mega day caching with bogonghazy. Normally would have been immediately obvious, but clever prep by the owner had us almost about to overlook the spot.

27-Jul-10
Found, eventually, with Reesylou.
Noticed this straight away, but discounted it, and wasted a bit of time looking elsewhere before returning and having that 'Doh' moment.
My thanks again to Rubus for another clever cache, SL

Normally when I get frustrated I dont enjoy geocaching, but this was a ripper and very unique. However really obvious in a way. Only thought it could be it after seeing something that would not normally be in its place.

Spent the day out with Crusty K9. This one took us quite some time, but eventually found it. Another very nice hide.

Found at 4.50pm Interesting that something can be right in front of you but if your not looking for it it has no meaning Wink- this is a really great idea for a hide. TNLN TFTC Rubus

Found at 15:35. Cache was all intact - no problems. A very cunning hide - I loved it. Similar materials to those used in another of Rubus's hides nearby gave me a clue. Love your work, Rubus - well done.

#18/25 today, I found junk from the cache all over the ground, I think after the recent storms like one might have been destroyed. [xx(]
If, after maintenance, it turns out I am mistaken, I will gladly delete my log and come back to have a second look some other time.

Found at 0945 hours, this would have to be one of the best cache hides I have come across.
It did not take me to long to find, something just clicked when I looked at the spot.

Very impressed with this cache. I agree with another cacher - you have to have an open mind and then the cache will jumpout at you. Had to be careful as the cache could be observed from a neareby building. TFTC

After much searching of the grey matter, it became very apprent where the cache was - am impressed - found at 1110 hours - left rubber ball * finger puppet

With C@W out for a day in the sun. Looking, looking, looking, was there any part of this structure I hadnt looked at intimately. Lots of head scratching, then C@W had a brain wave and the cache was in hand. Excellent hide, well done.

Recommended, Thanks for the cache.

A long time searching this location including heading back to the car for a torch.
All possible spots were checked out and we nearly left with a DNF but something, just something was;t quite right when I brushed against something else, and after a quick check the cache was found.
Less of a Garmin v Magellan situation here. More a cache of a little more experience, well, OK, luck for me rather than Uncle Jiffy today.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Rubus for 4 fine caches so far today. This one is certainly a prize winner.

Find # 358 @ 1500
I will remember this cache for a long time. Firstly because I questioned my initial power of deduction, secondly, because I pierced my scone on a protruding tap screw whilst searching in what I though was an obvious place, and thirdly because I should not have doubted my power of deduction. Anyway, I am happy in the long run because of no pain, no gain. Great hide. TNLNSL TFTC

25-Jul-09
Found at 11.40am GAFF4 in the company of Rabbitto. Rabbitto and I decided to have a coffee break here and as he had already found this cache, I went off searching while the barista prepared the coffees.
Looking at all the "usual" hiding spots for about 5 minutes turned up nothing - even a check of the wombat hole was contemplated. Then a comment from Rabbitto made me think in a different mode and the sneaky but bold hide was found straight away.

Well done and thanks Rubus.

It was dark when I reached GZ and I searched for a few minutes by torchlight where the GPS was pointing. I then moved away a bit and the cache became obvious. Nicely done! Thanks for the cache.

Found by Mary & David at 1210. Just superb. Looked around a few wrong places before spotting something not quite right. Had a good chuckle as we logged the cache. Plenty of bellbirds around here today. Our thanks yet again to Rubus.

Our caches in Arthurs Creek have been enabled now that the bushfire threat is over. These caches are not in a bushfire affected area.

26-Feb-09
We have temporarily disabled this and our other caches in the vicinity as the bushfire situation continues and the general public cannot access our area due to police road blocks.

Found by PR&F on 26/1/09 @ 11.25am
Spent some time here before geohusband claimed the find.
Had trouble getting the log book back in but we got there eventually.
Plastic bag for the log is ruined and needs replacing if you wish.
Great hide, thanks Rubus!

YAY!!!!!! Big Grin After spending so much of the day on Smalls, Micros & Empties, it was getting dark and we were getting eaten...
After a few minutes of looking everywhere, had a bright idea and found the cache.
These types of caches are great to come across and are a great way to end a day...
This cache in particular made our day... Very much appreciated.
Thanks!!

Dammit. I knew I should have looked here the first time. Better in daylight.
I like it.

Easy find, I live out here and don't remember seeing this before, although working in the dark does not help to see the removal method.

Nice work.

He, He, probably could have logged this one despite the muggles fishing the other day!!! Clever....Rubus sure is a bright spark! Found 18:30. Took 2, left 3. Ever get the feeling you are being watched though???!!!

Well, we looked at a lot of things but finally we looked at each other and said what about that Wink. Very clever - it is interesting what the mind will assume is normal. Thank goodness for asymmetry. TNLN. TFTC

04-Jan-09
Found with Acts2youthgroup. It was he who worked out where this rather good hide was, although not until after he head-butted the bridge! Serves him for being vertically excessive I reckon! Well done again Rubus, you are lifting the standards here.

04-Jan-09
Fifth of twenty five cache finds for the day, the cache was found at 10:20 in the company of Alansee. I was sure this cache was part of some revenge for all my bridge caches as I smacked my head big time while looking for the cache, once I came to my senses I found the rather nice hide. The CFA were filling up in the trucks from the creek but were out of sight thankfully. Thanks Robus for the cache.

02-Jan-09
Found some Muggles here a' fishin as we approached, so decided that the Drysies and their noise would return by here another day.

31-Dec-08
Very clever, spent 10 mins before one of us said 'hey guys what are you doing looking there'. cache found - VERY CLEVER.

23-Dec-08
Great concept for a cache, is sure a breath of fresh air to have a cache other than a sistema container!

As others have said, the sheer audacity of this hide brings a smile. It could well be there forever, even though it's not only in plain view - it's just about demanding that you look at it!

Very clever

Found by Bob at 1310

OK, I'll admit to being totally tricked by this one and spent a good 10-15 minutes eating red herrings Wink. Having just come from Greenies, I pulled off the road here and hopped out - only to find I'd parked in a mini-lake and was standing in a couple of inches of water disguised by the grass - which reinforced the fact that I need new (waterproof) boots as well as a new (sensitive) GPSr! After searching the obvious spots without luck, I checked my PDA and the earlier logs quickly put me on track Wink.

TNLN

Thanks again Rubus - a most innovative and clever hide, well done!

This find brought a smile to myself and featherdown. Guessed where it might be hidden as we approached and hunch proved correct. There is a very good chance I think that this one should survive. Very bold.
thanks Rubus

A nice quick find with feathertop this morning. Nicely mown grass on the way to the cache and everthing smelt great after the rain. Lovely hide.
Thanks

Found at 1625. On walking to GZ, I saw something that I thought, 'wouldn't it be funny if that was it'. Sure enough, after a moment or two to open the container, there it was. A nice fun cache hide.

Thanks Rubus.

Found 11.30am
This one took some finding, having looked under and over then under again we had come up empty handed, then one last look had the great camo'd cache in hand.

Took Nothing

The question is, what were the Wombats being warned for?
Nice cache container, and an interesting bridge.
Thanks, Robmc.

08-Nov-08
A nifty hide in a quite picturesque little valley. Very pleasant indeed.
Didn't have any trouble with the hide but it might have taken some time if we'd not been primed by a few tricky ones further back.
Thanks again.

08-Nov-08
A quick drive-by after trying to FTF Greenies.... Saw the cache as I approached and hoped it might be it, and indeed it was. I love these sorts. Very nifty.

Thanks Rubus.

Found this one at 13:30 as my second of three on a lunchtime escape. It took a while to find but one last look around the area of GZ and I was soon logging this very clever hide.

TNLNSL. Many thanks for a real ripper Rubus Big Grin, although I couldn't help thinking that the difficulty and terrain ratings for this one could be reversed.

Well what can we say about this camo except we have never seen the like of it before and most likely will not again!
Very well contrived and executed.
Thanks again Rubus for this experience, and for your ingenuity!

We found our 1st Rubus cache at 12:30pm as the 3rd of 17 on our North of the City Sunday Afternoon. Really nice work here but I can say no more lest I spoil the cache. Younger "H" had the honours here. Thanks for the cache from D,H,H & A B-A. Left a TB and took a coin.

25-Oct-08
What a fun cache this was! I arrived nice and early on my detour through to Geelong and had to contend with a number of cyclists on the road here. As I parked I was expecting to see a driver asleep in the cab of the large machine here but they where to be seen. I cautiously approached GZ and the cache name immediately made sense! I had a chuckle to myself over this one.

I dropped a coin for the next visitor, thanks!
