Found by The Empire + HAs we continued along the southern road, the landscape opened up to breathtaking views of the Murray River far below. The road wound along the cliffs, and from our vantage point, the river shimmered in the sunlight, snaking its way through the valley like a ribbon of silver. The sheer limestone cliffs stood tall and weathered, their pale, rugged faces dropping steeply down to the waters edge.Every so often, the trees would part, offering uninterrupted views of the river, framed by the ochre-toned cliffs that added a striking contrast to the lush green vegetation along the banks. The cliffs, carved by millennia of river flow, revealed layers of history in their sediment, reminding us of how the Murray has shaped this land over time. Thanks for the cache crane2.-M
Great HideThanks crane2 for the cacheJames0116Sunday24 Mar 202410:53:41pm AEDT4151Please ignore the below unless you want to read a big rant about nanosOh, nano caches, you little perplexing creatures! How you manage to frustrate and challenge me at every turn is truly a marvel. I find myself both enamored and exasperated by your minuscule presence in the geocaching world. Your diminutive size may be your claim to fame, but its also the cause of my never-ending struggle to locate and conquer your hidden domains.Lets delve into the realm of your size, shall we? Nano caches, youre like the David of the geocaching universe, defying all odds with your small stature. But heres the thing: David had a giant to defeat, while you, nano caches, are the giants in disguise. You pack an incredible punch with your infinitesimal dimensions, testing the limits of my observation skills and pushing me to question the very nature of reality. How can something so small be so devilishly difficult to find? Its a perplexing paradox that keeps me coming back for more, even as I grumble in frustration.Ah, and lets not forget about your crafty hiding spots. Nano caches, youre the masters of disguise, the Houdinis of the geocaching world. You can be tucked away in the tiniest crevices, camouflaged amidst the natural environment, or cleverly concealed within everyday objects. Ive spent countless hours searching for you, only to realize that you were nestled right under my nose the entire time. Its a testament to your cunning and my occasional lack of perception. But dont worry, nano caches, Im determined to improve my geocaching detective skills and conquer your hidden lairs once and for all! Now, lets talk about the logbooksor should I say, the almost non-existent log snippets. Nano caches, youre not known for your spacious accommodations. Instead, you offer a mere fragment of paper, a token space for geocachers to leave their mark. Its like trying to squeeze an epic tale into a tweet, a monumental challenge in brevity. But hey, maybe thats the beauty of itforcing us to distill our geocaching experiences into concise snippets, like haikus of adventure. And lets not overlook the fragility of your petite existence. Nano caches, youre delicate creatures, delicate like a delicate thing delicately balanced on a delicate tightrope. Okay, maybe thats a bit too delicate, but you get the idea. Handling you requires the utmost care and precision, as one clumsy moment could result in irreversible damage. Its a dance of finesse, a delicate ballet between geocacher and cache, where even the slightest misstep could shatter the delicate equilibrium. So, dear nano caches, you perplexing enigmas, I both curse and embrace your existence. You challenge my skills, test my determination, and occasionally make me question my sanity. But amidst the frustration, theres an undeniable thrill, a sense of accomplishment when I finally conquer your microscopic challenges. So, heres to you, nano caches, for keeping geocaching interesting, for reminding us that adventure comes in all sizes, and for pushing us to explore the vast and tiny corners of the world.Thank you, crane2, for the cache that sparked this rant. Your nano cache has ignited a flame within me, a desire to conquer the tiny kingdoms and unravel their mysteries. I appreciate the effort you put into creating an experience that simultaneously frustrates and delights. And to all the geocachers out there, whether you love or loathe the nano caches, remember that its the diversity of caches that keeps our geocaching journeys exciting and unpredictable.
Travelling from Mildura to Adelaide, following the solo m/cycle speedway championships, I stopped off to grab a few caches along the way. I checked out the object of interest thoroughly, then expanded my search. It was a hot day, and I wasn't enjoying being out of the airconditioned car, so I gave up. Before driving off however, I paf and was told where it was. What rubbish. I checked that so well. I'll give it another quick look. Oh! It is there. With the log signed, I hurried back to the cool confines of the car. Thanks crane2
Sadly left Puzzld crew and making my way to Mildura, stopping at various caches on the way. Thanks for your caches crane2
Accurate coordinates and an obvious hide location led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition..Thanks for the cache.
Interesting story. Not possible for anyone to have left aTB here so unsure why there are notes on so many caches around here. Nano is in good condition. TFTC!

Found during a road trip via Wentworth, Menindie Lakes, Wilcannia, Cobar, Bourke and Cunnamulla to Charleville and back over 10 days, camping out at some great spots along the way. Met up with e.gregory1 at Bourke and we spent the next four days caching around Cunnamulla and out to Eulo, Yowah and Charleville, before e.gregory headed up to Townsville and I made my way southwards towards home. I camped out next to the Murray at Merbein Common last night and spent the morning caching around Mildura before heading home on the last day of the trip. Thanks for the cache crane2!
Around the Riverland for the weekend due to swimming at Renmark. Grabbed this one while hubby working hard at the pool. Easy find. Signed log GT. TFTC.
Day 26 of our southern trip. Leaving Red Cliffs and on our way to Sedan in South Australia. We are Team 4 4 QLD - RoddyC, hatzofff, Snickersallan and Grannysmith1947.
It sounds paradoxical having a monorail and a steamer at the same time. PS - NEVER apologize for a Nano!

Yesterday Fitzy_63, Albida33, Minniek, Sol de Lune and I found about 350 of the On Your Bike Series so today we wanted to get back out and find to the end of the series. It was forecast to be even hotter today than yesterday so we decided to head out early. Of course the plan didn't work. We finished early and attacked another group of caches rather than go back to camp early
It was another great day of caching thanks to all the COs and nearly all caches were found to be in good order. Those that weren't will have individual notes added later. Logs were signed FAMSS

Day 6: SA/Vic Christmas holiday trip
Last Christmas holidays, fitzy_1965 and I (along with two geo-kids, Death Killer & my_name_jeff_1) headed to SA to visit family whilst we could, and to collect as many counties and caches as possible along the way. We decided even before getting home that we needed to go back. The added incentive of more On You Bike series sealed the deal. Fast forward through 2021 (because who wants to remember that), and here we are again. This time with extra company in the form of Sol de lune, Smittengranny and albida33.
After an exhausting 5 days in the SA heat, we made the decision to pack up a day early and head back across the border to do the Paddle Steamer series…..and to air conditioned accommodation instead of continuing to camp in tents! We said goodbye to Albida33 who was staying a few more days in SA. Caching along the way, we headed for the series straight up before continuing to our hotel…. Ah luxury!
All caches were signed as FMSS and were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

26,219. Found with minniek, Sol de Lune and Smittengranny during our post Christmas / New Year trip over to South Australia and Victoria to tackle the On Your Bike and Paddle Steamer series among many other caches.
Today we started by heading to the Mildura region to start the Paddle Steamer, and grabbed several others along the way. Signed as FMSS. This was another long hot day.
When minniek and I were in South Australia in January this year (2021) doing the On Your Bike series of (then) 100 Wherigo caches, we were talking to the CO who mentioned that a whole lot more were soon to be published, and they were - 512 more ! So once back home we set about solving all those new ones which was at least something to do during 'stay at home' orders effecting us. Then once they were all solved we planned a trip over to grab them. Then just to add to the fun the latest 152 were published just in time for us to spend time solving them all so we could get the whole set. With our caching friends Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 this series was our main aim, but with the 'Around the World in 81 caches' series, various solved puzzles and the Paddle Steamer as standby if we got the time.
We managed some BIG days caching and finished off the On Your Bike series in three days, then attempted the mammoth 'Around the World in 81 caches' series and some lovely high/rare D/T caches - all in searing summer heat peaking at over 40 degrees ! Once they were finally completed we headed over to the Mildura region for another two blistering hot days doing the Paddle Steamer series. After camping for five nights we finally relented and got hotel rooms for the last two nights and worked the air conditioning to the bone.
All in all an amazingly fun time was had, and we have all made room in our calendars for when the next part of the On Your Bike series is published - no pressure ! Highlights included many of the fun tree climbs, the pole caches which increased our skills at the recovery and replacements of those styled caches, and the relaxed times and banter around the camp site at the end of each tiring day - including New Years Eve !
Thanks to all the COs for contributing their caches to our fun times, and I must apologise for the generic logs as we did find well over one thousand caches which now require logging !

I come up to stay in Barmera for a couple of weeks each year around the June long weekend. There are a group of us and we try to organise one caching day where we all go for a drive, a picnic and a find a few caches. Today was the day and along with ROMA123, LLL51 and Gemini7 we headed off for a fun day. [^]
The others had already found this one so LLL51 and I stopped for a quick find, which is always great when a nano is involved.
Thanks for the cache Crane2.

Suscoe headed out today from Mildura for a trip to Renmark and Berri and back again.
We were in the terrific company of Phetlern.
We covered well over 360 kilometres on this trip and we saw a wide variety of countryside from sand drifts, to cropping land to scrub and beautiful green orchards and grape vines.
We saw quite a few different varieties of birds and saw the magnificent Murray River from different perspectives.
It was a much cooler day today with clouds breaking up the sunshine from time to time.
Thanks to Crane2 for this hide, we decided that we will have to learn a bit more about this Landing.

A monorail ??
In the days of paddle steamers ??
Now I'm curious [^]
Maybe there was no monorail,
just a lone bit of rail stuck in the ground here ??
Or maybe it was just one rail spur that ended here ??
Whatever !!

Spending a couple of days in the riverland grabbing a few caches with Gwen from The X-Trailers and Liz, earthlight, hooked up the boat for some water caches and bought along my recently purchased Rapala Waders, a lot of laughs along the way and although not as many caches as we would have liked we managed to get quite a few of the harder to get ones on and in the water. TFTC
Sign was back when I checked today - fresh wth a new paint job. Cache will be easy to spot as it is a contrasting colour, because I wasn't expecting the sign to have had a change of coat!
We had a long look for this one, but no luck today. We did find two holes in the ground right at gz, so if the cache was hidden in or on a sign, the sign is no longer there. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
on way home from holiday just stopping at caches along the way
