I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.

02-Apr-24
I'm in the UK for another month or so, so unable to take a look. From memory this was one of a series of caches we put on marked public access ways that the nearby land owners had tried to remove or hide. Please inform me if I'm wrong? but I remember at the time doing due diligence to ensure the cache and access to it were public right of way. The idea was to increase use to help ensure these access points remain open. If a neighbours dog attacks, I would recommend taking any appropriate action you would for such an encounter regardless of location.

Hi WackyBThis geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler

Attempting this cache I nearly got attacked by the dogs that belonged to the owners of garden that this cache is located in

14-May-22
No luck today

05-Feb-22
Grass is overgrown. Saw a friendly rabbit. But sadly no troll or cache

11-Apr-21
Found it. It was in plain sight

11-Mar-21
Out on a mission with Merlot58 and Supernannny to target some caches in the area. This was the last cache of the day before heading home. S/N had previously found this one so we were hoping for a quick find, but we were distracted by some erosion near gz and thought the cache might have gone with it. We extended the search area and soon spotted the cache guardian. Cache needed some TLC so we emptied out the water, and cleaned it up before adding a new waterproof log in a plastic bag. Great BIG houses near gz and it almost felt like you were walking on private property.

11-Mar-21
After completing some new Beachland caches we headed over here on our way home to collect this lonely cache all the way out here by itself. Thanks to the spoiler photo for the entrance we soon headed off down the grassy path getting glimpses of the posh places on either side. We initially walked right past the guardian troll and cache and were then concerned a nearby slip of ground might have taken the cache but Mrs Jag then found it. The cache was full of water as the lid no longer closes so inside was very manky. We emptied out the old soggy log and rusty key and cleaned out the container best we could and replaced the log with some waterproof paper in a plastic bag. The cache doesn't close properly now so the next lot of rain will once again fill it so the container needs replacing

This cache was filled with HIJKLMNO (or H2O). I tried to make a few marks on the log paper, but it was futile. TFTC.

09-Sep-17
Quick find in between showers to take us up to 1260 finds.
Log a bit wet TFTC

Found easily enough, I could hear a group who were obviously having fun nearby, but felt odd standing at the bottom of someone's garden signing the log. Cache is very damp,

24-Dec-16
Well worth the 200 metre walk from where we parked the car. Too granddaughter and my wife who both walked past the cache without noticing it. Just as well the troll was guarding the cache as it was out in the open . Put him back a little but it is still visible. Log was damp and needs replacing so took a photo.

23-Dec-14
Been out for the last bit of Christmas shopping and decided to detour to get this cache on the way home.

Almost drove down someone's driveway mistaking it for the thin greenbelt leading through to waterfront.

Quickly found cache and what a lovely view. We are going to have to rely on LOTTO to afford houses in this street sorry Mrs NZTravellers Smile

25-Nov-14
Had one of those moments where I'm not seeing where I'm supposed to be! Where is that walkway? Ohhh there you are, now I see you. So wandered down between the houses. (Boy, don't some people have some money!) All that vacant grass. well I was welcomed not so much by the troll but a barking mad dog that wouldn't shut up from one of the houses, someone also thought it was barking unnecessarily so pulled the nuisance dog indoors, so I was able to carry on in peace. Neat location btw. Cool

11-Oct-13
Just a few more caches before calling it a day. Parked and made the short walk to GZ and the cache was quickly found. Loved the extra effort with the interesting guardian! Log signed and replaced. TFTC! Big GrinBig Grin

What a stunning view - would never have come down this path if it had not been for this cache - enjoyed my bike ride this morning, biking down streets I had never been down before. How do you find these places??? Thanks

Loved the troll! Miss 3 took a ring so we left a carabina. On the way out a neighbour came out of his house to see what we were up to so we played tourist and pointed out all the things we could see on the other side of the estuary.

I felt a bit sad about this cache, as it hadn't had a visit from anyone in a while.

So I decided to go on a mission to find it! Almost got hit by another car while driving there (on the road to the cache)...got to love those country roads.

Pulled up and thought "FLIP...how am I going to get to this one. Re read the description and found the clue, couldn't access the photo's, but took a chance and took the path.

Got close to the GZ but was a bit worried that I was on someone else's land (unsure if this part is private or public land).....but took another chance and continued to look. I was standing where it said it was meant to be and thinking again"FLIP...where is it...I'm not jumping that fence am I?"

But then saw the little guy hiding there.

Great spot.

Would not recommend people do it at night, as you might have the neighbours calling the boys in blue.

What incredible houses. Smile tftc mind the troll.

08-Oct-11
One of the more interesting ones. Great houses, nice wander and brilliant put together cache. Thx!

21-Aug-11
This is an unusual track as it just goes to a bank above the water. It doesn't seem to go along the shoreline. Though I did notice another track down between two other properties. Maybe there will be further development.

Patted the troll on the head to be friendly.

Cheers for the cache.

13-Aug-11
Good that you mentioned about the entrance. Although we haven't got a photo on our GPS, we could make up what the entrance would be. Cache is still there guarded by the troll.

Red Face My apologies for the LONG! absence from Geocaching. It is with regret that some of our caches have gone, but I hope to be able to review, update, restore, replace those that remain in the coming weeks. I would like to thank all that have helped maintain some of our caches in the true spirit of Geocaching, and extended thanks to those that have offered help in replacing those missing.

Out and about with the Future Finder this afternoon. Just enough time to fit in a cache. Not a lot of parking options down here...unless you count the grass...A nice stroll to GZ, though the path wasn't initially obvious. Super quick find. Seb and I got a buzz out of the troll guardian. Lovely views out over the water today. Cheers for the cache!

16-Feb-11
Our 250th find!! Out on a mission to chalk up as many finds today as possible. Would have never discovered this reserve if it wasn't for this cache. Loved the troll and took 2 TB's to celebrate. TFTC.

31-Dec-10
Quick find. T4TC. Be cautious of the house to the left (the one with the golf course) as you follow the grassy accessway down to the cache - 2 beer cans attached to the large fence posts that had many bullet holes in them. Didnt hear any shots as I passed by, but then again, Im still alive to write this log up! Dropped 2 TBs.

19-Sep-10
Found this quite quickly, Troll was friendly, hopefully as friendly as his new neighbours in the new house springing up near the GZ, Thanks for the photo of the walkway as we would never have dared wander down there without knowing it was a right of way!

23-Aug-10

Who knows where this track is suppose to go, maybe set up for a geocache.

30-Jan-10
3.30pm. Incredible mansions. Hopefully not built on other peoples money that didn't get repaid. Enjoyed the walk along the right of way to the cache. The troll had a more pleasant smile than the past prime minister it reminded us of!!
The troll distracted us from recording what we left in the cache.
TFTC.

Found on an East Auckland and beyond cache raid with Kiwi Explorer. There are probably legal wasy to amass the amount of wealth conspicuously displayed near GZ but I haven't discovered them yet... No problems with the neighbours today as they must have been hard at work... TFTC, Biggles.

13-Nov-09
Found with Biggles while on a tour of East Auckland. An interesting and unexpected guardian, neat. Loved the house nearby very nice. TFTC.

14-Oct-09
Found in the rain. Not sure if this path is part of a walk way or goes down to the water. It dosn't go very far to the right. On the left it looks like all one property.
Coin visit.
Cheers Wacky B

What a difference fine weather makes. It turns out that I was on the right path after all, so I dont know what the guy I spoke with last time was on about. Easy walk to the cache, a few quick words to the troll, and then the cache was in hand. Thanks for the cache.

11-Oct-09
After reading the previous log we didn't know what to expect on our arrival at GZ. Parked closeby and enjoyed an uneventful walk to GZ in the sunshine. Took a photo on the way and quickly found the cute cache T4TC.

05-Oct-09
sorry to hear your experience was less than pleasant Trout-fly Sad just to reassure you, the walkway to the cache is a public walkway (phoned MCC this morning to check the status and it hasn't changed from when the cache was place).

If you follow the path directly to the bush along the waterfront area you are well within council / public land. the private property to the right is well fenced off and the private property to the left is fenced off until the very last part (at the bush area) but you don't need to veer left at the end...

04-Oct-09
I didnt get a chance to look for the cache as I didnt find the access way. GPS said I was less than 100m from the cache, so I thought I was in the right spot. But it was pouring with rain and visibility was pretty bad. I went down a lane at the end of the road, between 2 drives on the cul-de-sack, that looked like the one in the photos. I was chased off by a local and told, in very plain language, that this was private property and there was no access to the shore on Tudor Park Drive and to go back to where I came from! I'll have another look when the sun is shining, or during the week when they're at work!

04-Oct-09
The grassy area by one of the houses had an alarm going off. I went over to have a look, figuring there'd be a number to call, but no.

Enjoyed the walk down the accessway to the waterfront - not much room once you get there. Easy find of the cache and its guard. Another wacky WackyB cache. Thanks.

First time to this particular spot along the river for us… luckily there was just enough room in between those big houses for a neat little cache and it’s guardian. Loved the mini golf next door.

Some HUGE houses around here. Interestingly we managed to pick some real mushrooms on the way to this cache! TFTC

28-Apr-09
Certainly deserted today apart from a rabbit and a small muggle who happened to be right at GZ but didn't want to tell me if he'd seen a cache.

Nice views across to "East Ender" as well.

I checked yesterday afteroon for new caches. So this must have been published yesterday evening. Sweated it all day and hoped Kiwileon was asleep on the job.

But alas it will require different employment for me to catch him out.

I'll never get bored with the views down this valley. Let alone the real estate.

Loved the cache container.
