Out for a long hike today around Morialta. Today isnt about how many geocaches I find, its about finding a couple of Quality geocaches. Hopefully.I had already struck out on a Zytheran multi, because many of the waypoints, no longer existed. So this Was a chance for me to set things straight. Im so glad that I confirmed the coordinates with the owner before setting out, as I had two digits wrong, and that wouldve had me striking out.Im impressed with the container, which is almost as big as the container I used for my 300th hide Back around 2006.TFTC!Thanks for bringing me out here! I enjoyed it a lot! And as an FYI to the owner, the logbook is full.
Stopped by to pick up the coordinates for the final. Some of the information is getting a little faint.I have requested confirmation from the owner.
Visited this one again while out for a walk in Morialta CP. Always a fun one to find! While I had been here before twice, I had forgotten the coordinates so had to revisit the start location. TNLN, thanks!
Found coords fine but couldn't find the cache after my hike despite its apparent size
I had obtained the coordinates for this cache a while ago but the trip to GZ was, well, challenging. I had then forgotten that I had said coordinates and had wandered close to GZ on a number of occasions. Today I decided to correct this oversight. A fun walk culminated in a nice straightforward find. Not entirely sure I would want to look for it during snake season mind! TFTC Freddo
Coordinates were easy. Getting to the GZ not so much. First a bum steer with Google maps but then the husband stepped in and worked it out. Drove most of the way and then a bush bash with geokid (4yo) we found it.
What a massive container!
We have just written in the last page of the book so might need a new one.

Solved the coordinates a few days ago. Today was the day that we came out this way and wow this is big. It seems that a colony of ants took up residence inside the container. They weren't particularly happy for us to disturb their peace.

Well this one has been a long time coming. I must have gathered the required information over 2 years ago. I recall being impressed with the method of GZ Coord application, and immediately bought my own set to do the same. They remain unused for quite some time until I placed McInerney. I still think about using them again sometime.
So in the queue it remained, one that had a GZ away over there, and not in a location that one passes on a regular nor occasional basis. Today I was targeting the few SFE's I am entitled to, and the name of the road appeared on the map. Wooeeee, today is the day. I navigated to the closest trafficable trail head and walked on in. A bit of zig zagging later and I was ready to brace for the bushes and trees. I picked which tree, but na, not that one, keep on going.
I arrived to find the cache in a bit of a shambles, who does these things. A quick tidy up and reassemble of the book and bag, I read some of the notes from cachers before me. Very interesting. I add my own 2c worth and put the lid back on properly. The cache is in good condition, I didnt lift it up nor turn it over, but assume the bits I could not see were as good as the bits I could. I added quite a bit of nature to the top and happily wandered back to the track. The whole walk back to the car I was beaming with a great sense of satisfaction.
Fantastic work Freddo. As others have commented, what a task to get the beast to this location. FP4U

Made the trip up after grabbing the coordinates- very impressive, no idea how the cache was brought to the location!
Found the hint waiting for school kids to arrive for an excursion......now for the cache.
After months of having the coordinates, I finally got out here! Well worth the wait
We found the coordinates but we can't drive to da hills today will come back to it soon
I started this multi when I first moved to adelaide as its not too far from home, today I was in the area of the final so off I went to have a look. I was surprised by its size and the effort to carry it in this far. Cache and contents are all good.
After arriving back in Adelaide after a week and a half holiday in Tasmania visiting family and friends, I decided since today’s weather was so good that I would go on an adventure up into the hills for some caching. I was confronted by some Asians whilst searching for a cache asking how far it was to lake bumbunga, little did they know it was 2 hours drive from our current location, some how there GPS said it was 2 mins but I did know of any lake or a pink lake for that matter that was at Norton Summit. Overall a nice day collecting some zythern unloved puzzles along woth some of the SFE series.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placement.

Out for a walk with Wikkid76 and finding some caches with favourite points. Interesting container we speculated about what was originally in it. I give it a favourite which means it now has 49. TFTC Freddo
Have had this on the radar for quite a while and finally made the effort to find it. That's one big container, though I wonder how the modem box got in? The geoson made a swap. TFTC.
I was supposed to be going to Naracoorte for work today and then meeting the geohusband in Robe to spend the weekend there and collect some of the new caches in Beachport.
My boss decided to come to Adelaide instead so that was a plan scuppered, we decided to stay in Adelaide instead. It was a dirty afternoon weatherwise but checked the websites and saw the parks were still open.
So after a hectic morning of meetings headed back to Morialta to collect a few target caches and some SFEs that I have qualified for and some I haven't. We had a fab lunch at Big Shed Brewing before I headed out, so was well fuelled for a big walk.
This was one of two target caches for the afternoon. After a failed effort last week due to having no clue how to access this one I was back today after some advice from the kindly frog as to where to park for easy T2 access.
Met some German girls at the parking who wanted to find koalas, no idea where they are but I know where a big cache is.
So left them on their koala hunt and headed off to find this huge cache. Really enjoyed the walk even though it was a bit eerie up here with the sky full of orange dust. Listened to an audiable book whilst walking and in no time was at GZ.
Right how do you get into this humungous thing? Ok that's how. Now how do I put it all back together? Hmm that took a while. This cache is massive and very heavy, God only knows how Freddo got it here. Replaced (with some effort) and put the token branches of cammo back on top of it.
Returned to the trail with blood on my shins and a grin on my face. TFTC Freddo, this one has been 2 years in the making.

4th one for our Adelaide trip. Wow that’s a big cache. Nice walk and drive to get to. Make sure you wear shoes and not thongs for this one as one family member did (a little off the main track) TFTC.
Today our geocaching mission was to finish a couple of multi’s we had started previously. A nice walk to GZ to find the BID KAHUNA!!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After a unplanned really late night, I was still committed to hiking and caching with AnyMules, Hevwalker and brisal5, unfortunately the ah.. dehydration eventually won out, forcing me to break off and make my way down back to the car and back to bed.
Some very lovely and beautiful spots that I would never have seen without geocaching to take me there.
Started this one a while ago while trying to explain to my parents what geocaching is, now dad can get off my back since I've finally completed this one
Thanks Freddo

Are you sure you couldn't find anything bigger to haul up the hill
A great find with brisal5, AnyMules & Phoenix Flare before today's event...

Co-ords retrieved last week whilst on a stroll through the parklands. Saved the trip to GZ for a quieter day
Impressed with the hunt and the hide.
Signed the log and replaced as found. Many thanx

A great morning for a little bit of bush whacking. Picked us the coords yesterday and headed out bright and early today. A great container which took me a while to work out how to lock up. Thanks for my morning exercise and TFTC
I cannot even remember finding the first waypoint for this cache [:o]
Yet today there was a multi-cache symbol showing up along me stroll through the hills this morning
Not being able to remember anything about this cache,
I was still in the dark as to whether this was another waypoint,
or the actual cache location
From 20 metres away,
it was pretty obvious that this was the Big Kahuna
Crikey !!
That must weigh a tonne !! [:o]
How on Earth did Freddo get this delivered to it's resting place ?? [:o]
Hmmm.
Probably had a key to the gate and offloaded it from the back of the Pahero !!
After signing the logbook,
and retrieving the "Jeep 4X4" TB,
I muscled the cache lid back into place
It was a battle !! [:o]
TFTC and a scratchy stroll into the scrubbery

out for a day strolling around the hills. Had the final for this for a while but it does help if you upload it to the gps. I thought " bellas boxes " where a pain to lug in to the bush, that looks heavier than them. The gps sent me into the bush 486 metres from the cache and then lead me around in circles, it must be having a bad day. Took a much shorter way out. dropped tb and fav point.
Out with Cache_Ism walking the trails.
Wow would have been interesting seeing the Frog lugging this cache in haha. Cache and contents in good condition. Grabbed TB to move along.

I got the listed co-ords for this one some 6 weeks ago and was just dying for a very fine weekend to go grabski. The BIG Kahuna is definantly just that! It earns it's name!! I had just finished getting Frozen Feet's "I Hate Caches Like This" a wee Ammo can and now this! What a direct contrast in size [:o]. I wonder how you got this ripper in here Freddo Helicopter maybe? Took small Seal for a gold coin added to the pink Hollywood Princess bag SL at 11:28 on 16 July 2016. (Log should read, here from 11:15 to 12:00 Midday lol ) TFTC. Many pics taken , i enjoyed all 45 mins of it (Fave point for it and your efforts getting it to it's hidey spot.)
WoW! She's a Biggun.
We could have picked a better day for a walk than we did but although we got a bit soggy it was a good day out. Cheers Freddo.

A bit of a gap in the space time continuum between step one and the end, but was nearby today
have been working near the Big Orange lately. Sadly this is not as well kept as it used to be.
As far as nano caches go, this is the mother of all spawns Actually had to search around inside to find the log!
So size matters

On a previous visit, all I could find was a nature cache. So left and hunted caches elsewhere.
I got some advice on where to look at a recent event and returned this morning to get the coords. The coords were very difficult to see and I'm glad I sought a hint, as I would never have found this solo.
After the drive east, the walk to GZ was mild and uneventful today. No wildlife to be seen. Kids really enjoyed digging through the cache. Left plenty of small trinkets. Took a bear and frog.
Fav point for the effort to get the cache out there.

Found after a pleasant walk from the top down.
The cache was under the care of a very friendly kangaroo who sat under the same tree until we were only couple of meters away.
Took GI Joe, left Snorkel
Great cache. Thanks so much.

Wow and wow. WHAT a cache. I knew it would be special but but had no idea anything like this. As mentioned in other logs, opening was easy but closing took some time. Fav from me. TFTC.
Big things - well we have seen the BIG banana (Coffs) and the big Lobster (Kingston - did you know it has a name - Larry!) and also the BIG bee hive (The Honey Place, Urunga, NSW - you have to walk through the hive entrance to get into the shop!).

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Read this cache description a while ago and a couple of weeks ago got the cords at WP1 for GZ. Plotted them out and decided that it might have to wait for a while. During that time I started looking at the Big Things the family had seen during its travels throughout Aus. All in all I found a total of 13 including the BIG
Merino
Orange
Cockatoo
Banana
Lobster
Koala
Golden Guitar

Big Rocking horse
Scottsman
Winch
Crocodile
I thought there must be more so I googled Big things in Australia and was astounded at the list of over 200 items. So we have a long way to go but we are now part of an exclusive club that has visited the Big Kahuna. Parked at the wrong end of the area, began the BIG HIKE to GZ and then took a wrong turn which turned a 40 min walk into a 65 minute one. Very energetic walk and just for that fact alone in dragging the Big Kahuna up here a Favourite point is being awarded. Once at GZ quickly found it, opened it signed log and was amazed at some of the items in it and covered it back up and then the quick return to the car and a well earned drink and the satisfaction of a brisk walk and a successful find. It's been 3 1/2 years in the making, but Owl has finally completed this multi! It was the first one she started, all those years ago, and the final coordinates have languished in the nest since then. Out with Izwalk, intending to go on a safari, Owl suddenly realised that the big prize was close by and insisted on a detour. Some bush-bashing later and the cache was theirs! That was the easy part. It took considerably longer to close the cache again and along the path Owl realised she'd left her hiking poles behind. By the time she'd retraced her steps the day had heated up and Owl wasn't confident she'd reach the savannah. A couple of easier caches were attempted before a reward of coffee and cake. And dancing. And celebrations!
Went on a hike during my 1/2 hour lunch break and it turned into a 2 hour lunchtime so working back this evening. I had my gall bladder removed 2 weeks ago so wasn't real sure if this was a good idea. I took my time and was glad it was a cool day. Its always great to walk in this fantastic park and today was no exception with many other walkers out and about. A fantastic huge container which is well stocked. Took some photos but decided not to attach so not to spoil for others. Must have been a big effort to get this baby to this location so well done Freddo.
I picked up the coords for the final in the city yesterday in preparation for a hike in the hills today. Together with RyeRye467 and PoPtart394 we parked up the top and walked down.
It was a nice easy walk along the trail and then a short 60m through the bush to make a very enjoyable find.
I dropped in a TB which doubles as a game piece for another Freddo cache.
+1 blue ribbon.

First to find in 2015!
Found on Easter Sunday more than a year after locating the final coordinates. We needed some hill training before our trip to Peru to walk the Inca Trail, so made our approach form the bottom via the steepest route. Lots of stuff in the cache but we LNTNSL. TFTbigC!

Out on a caching mission with Grumpi68. Three caches planned. Two underground ones successfully done. This is the third.
Starting from a gold mine it was not too far to drive to a place to start a walk. I know these roads from exploring on my bike.
But the car will go no further. Looks like it's time for shanks pony.
Shall we stick to the track until we get close? Well it is snake season so maybe we will.
Hmmm a strange humm from overhead. That's a big power pole, but not a big kahuna.
We are close now. Time to leave the path.
Surely that looks like the right spot. Ah yes. Despite the camo it's hard to hide when you are a Big Kahuna.
Serious closure opened.
Wow it's a modem. 56k too! Wishing I had brough my old 300 baud modem to swap!
So 3 from 3 for this afternoon

09.11.14 found with brad&janet on a brilliant clear Sunday arvo of successful caching, really enjoyed the drive to the final cache point as I haven't been up that way before, my caching partner rides his push bike all around these parts and I felt tired just looking at the area thanks for the cache
Glad I came up here today. I hadn't plan to but saw it was fairly close by after my previous cache find.
A little bush bash and a big WOW that's a big Kahuna!
Ten minutes to rummage around in there and another ten minutes to work out out how to get the lid back on tight.
Took the pathtags, thanks heaps. TFTC. Definitely a fav pt from me. Cheers

I was nearby to the start of this cache today and having eyed it off a few times decided to spend some time trying to grab the coordinates from the first waypoint. Sadly, I came away empty handed.
Initially I was going to ignore this cache as I didn't want to start a multi in the rain - well very light shower. Then I saw the name, I remember doing this months ago, and this was the final, I thought why not I'm here and its just over there ... how hard can it be?
Real easy as it turns out, while I was a bit put off that it is 60 or so meters from a walking path, I was thinking this would be a great place for a really large cache, and lo I was answered with 'The BIG Kahuna'
This is not a nano, thats for sure.
Whats this. a TB? I'll move this on? whats this, another, and the brother to boot, better keep them together I think for the moment. So picked up 2 Gnome TBs, laughed at the 56k Modem, and wondered as to why someone would leave assorted outdated cables and power bricks for a phone perhaps. The things you see in a cache.
Ahh GCA TBs, I'll have to move them on soon then.

Second last day of holidays and really needed to get into the hills for a walk. Made a phonecall and ended up picking up the taller Scoobster for a quick excursion.
As expected did not have any trouble spotting this one. Would not have liked the job of carrying this in here but am certainly glad someone did.
Thanks for the HUGE one Freddo

Gotcha!
Today, I finally had the chance to find the second part of this epic multi.
Coincidentally, I spied that giant cockroach in Freddo's log just the other day. It seems to have shifted, for the time being at least, to Rundle Mall.
This cache now has a couple of small residents - Some gnomes from GCA.
Thanks Freddo!
ZZzz..
We saved the final stage for Boxing Day and after lots of scratched legs finally found it. Hats off to the guys who set this one up as it was in an awesome container and would have taken some effort to set it in place.
WOW! that thing is huge! awsome cache Freddo! thanks for bringing us out here!! took tb, left a duck!
All I can say is Wow! That thing is huge!
We gathered the required information yesterday but by the time we got near GZ it was pitch black so we decided to leave it for today. First thing this morning headed back up towards the cache, had a lovely walk in the morning sun and a short bush bash to the cache.
Biggest one we have come across so far!

Out caching with brisal5 for the day, we were happy to do a few walks and multi's including ones that may have started a fair way away. Nice walk into a rather large cache. Largest cache that brisal5 has ever seen... Enjoyed the lovely walk, cache placement and the great sized container. Well named....

Day 7 in a row for 31 days of caching in August. Luckily I have this week off to drop the geodaughter at a course..which = all day caching. Joined by Mrs. M from Aussie M&M for todays frivolities.
I have wanted to get this since doing WP1 on 7/5/13. Today was the day. In we walked from the top. Came across the big kahuna's surfing hole and continued to GZ. Now that's a cache. Big cache needed an elephant sized TB..so I left one. Thanks Freddo. As Max used to say, "That's the second biggest cache I've seen today." Worthy of yet another fav point.

Missed one of the tracks so bush bashed more than needed on the way in. You did well carrying this in. Plenty of room for big swaps.
I did WP1 a couple of months ago but today I was not working and in the hills. So to day was the day. I went with a friend and we went cross country to the find but found the track on the way back.
It must have been fun getting the cache into place. Worth a point just for that.
TFTC Freddo. A nice walk on a nice day.

Sorted out these coords several weeks ago but only today found an excuse to head up the hill. A nice walk (down from the nearest road) - not sure I'd fancy the uphill walk, at least with the five-year-old in tow, anyway! Thanks for a great cache Freddo. A fav for Lukey5!
Finally this one is coming off our watch list Had our eye on this cache for a couple of years now, can't believe it took us this long to complete it. We had a good discussion on the cache size, not being able to decide whether it was bigger than the Merchant's War, which we did more than 3 years ago, so our memory is a little hazy... Thanks Freddo for taking us on a nice little walk on a Sunday afternoon! TNLNSL TFTC
Quick find today. Truly awesome cache and an awesome hike. SO HUGE!
Thanks for the cache Freddo.
Thanks for the cache Freddo.
After a vist to the zoo afew days ago I made it into the hill to find this cache. After finding the cache then it was time to find the log book. Such a big cache. picked up 2 tb to move on. TFTC.
Karopi's Great Backlog Afternoon
Oh dear! I am a disgrace.
I knew I had a few caches to log from past excursions with Sylken but I didn't think I was quite this bad! (well I might have had a sneaking suspicion and a goodly dose of denial going on related to the "snowball effect" procrastination syndrome I suffer from) but now it's time to get with the program and fix the issue.
With the help of my calendar, "save for later" logs in my iPhone, Sylken's found caches page to remind me of joint caching excursions, and the freshly rediscovered lists of "found caches" supplied to me by geomum at the end of every excursion which were safely filed in my tax receipts folder, because where else should one store such lists really??? (Hence their recent re-discovery and now the embarrassed action plan to attempt to redeem myself!) I am now FINALLY back-logging!
Since some are event caches and have no doubt been archived I'm not even sure I'll be able to log them all sadly with carbon copies of this message, since to get on top of all these without the helping hand of Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V would send me right back to that snowball procrastination issue!
To the cache owners/event organisers - please forgive my tardiness, and if you want to discount/delete my log, I completely understand. It serves me right for not being better organised, and listening to my mum when she [s]nagged[/s]reminded me to log my caches before!
For all your hard work and effort in hiding caches/organising events I really am truly grateful - my OCD nature wouldn't let me log my caches out of order, so once the first big block of unlogged caches was combined with the second and the job got bigger and bigger.... well you get the drift!

A great day caching with geodaughter 'Karopi'. This is definitely the biggest cache we have ever found and full of lots of 'boys toys'. I dated the log and made a couple of comments but think I forgot to add our moniker
Fantastic views to be had on the way here. We will try to return another day to enjoy some more walking along the local tracks. Many thanks Freddo for a great hide. No wonder you had the container for a couple of years before using it.....couldn't have been easy to find a discreet hide for such a monster. [^]

This one didnt start out as the objective for the day, but once the thought popped up, decided to go for a drive...
The showers had only been light, but everything was still very wet.
Parked about a k away and ventured in...
Dawdled along for awhile, being distracted by anything that moved, dodging a massive puddle which was to be expected here, admiring the gorgeous view.
At ground zero I observed a magpie gobbling a worm down whole. And wondered at the beauty of the flora here too...
Thanks for the walk Freddo (not a caching outing without a Frog Nation cache!) I witnessed the handing over of this cache all those years ago, finally got to see it again here.
On a nicer day would be nice to sit and ponder life for a few hours in the serenity, maybe with a blanket and a wine or three!
Left Feddo's Sister tb, as was appropriate (although at the time, I didnt know the name of it) and took the three tbs in residence.
Brings back memories of my jaunt through here 4 years ago. I must get to and trek through again, perhaps with others next time.

The strange things that you see whilst caching... They say curiosity killed the cat, so I had to venture past the big smoke for a look... Hhmmm.... Yup....
I really must make a day of urban city caching very soon.
I parked as close as i could and ran over for a very quick glance for the co-ords, with the big geomonkey while the little geomonkey was fast asleep in the car, but i missed them somehow :S
Little geomonkey woke up so we all ventured off for a wander and I spotted the co-ords straight away!
There was an abundance of bird life around today, dozens of parrots, lorikeets, Galahs, pigeons and magpies!
Now..... To hunt the big kahuna, minus the geomonkeys......
Tbc.......

Beautiful morning for a hike in the magnificent winter Adelaide Hills, although it is like a spring morning in September.
Have had the answer for a few weeks now, just had to wait for a rain free week as I suspected too much water would make this a little difficult.
Knew there was probably 2 or 3 angles to approach the cache, I think Darknstormy & I picked the easiest route.
Thanks Freddo, signed log and left my dog.

SA has numerous BIG attractions:
The Big Lobster
The Big Orange
The Big Olive
The Big Ram
The Big Rocking Horse
This cache should be honoured as an official SA tourist attraction. It is BIG!! TFTC Freddo.

Found It!
I think this is my biggest find to date - replaces beetooljuice i think...
The logbook is a interesting read - Just how did bob find it without a GPS??? (well he couldn't miss it could he?)
It also begs the question of how the hell you got the thing in there...

It's Mrs Mellison's birthday today so a caching we will go.
I never know how far off the track to venture on these expeditions but thankfully Mrs Mellison is more adventurous than me.
What a big kahuna, there was even a full on modem in there!
