I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, TeamGeoPlesk, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

Sounds like there has been some cache creep, will arrange for a check

08-Mar-21
Bit of a hassle, unfortunately did not come away with a prize.
Terrain difficulty seems underrated given rock scrambling is required.

28-Feb-21
Took the initiative to download the data before we headed out to Umbrawarra, unfortunately did not look at the pics.
Attacked the cache from the top as we were heading out from the gorge, and the GPS was saying we were at GZ, however could not locate.
It has been a couple of years so may need checking, but next trip will definitely have a squiz at the photos first.

Made the long, dusty, bumpy ride out here for a nice stroll.
Took the hint and managed to narrow down the location before starting the ascent. Found with no trouble..

Wauw, beautiful place. Gorgeous to cache, picknick, swim. This is real nature.

This has been on our bucket list for ages and today we finally made it. Had a lovely walk swim and picnic. We also had free entertainment provided by 2 guys and a drone. The spirit of the gorge clearly didn't appreciate the drone and flew it into a tree and the gorge wall before sinking it. Then the guys fully dressed had to dive in to effect a rescue one slipped on the rocks and landed on his arse. The drone was salvaged but in a sad way. After all that found the cache on our way back but had no pen. Please accept the photo log and thanks for the adventure.

My son and I had a great time climbing on the rocks and looking for the cache. We'd actually given up after searching for a while when he spotted it on the way back down. We had been looking to high. Thanks for the cache, we had a great time and there's great views if you go to high like we did.

Just great! What can I say, it is a mix of climbing and adventure to get to the cache. It took me a while but the hint is very helpful. GPS does not really point you to rhe cache at this position,

What a gem - superb little gorge. Came back next morning and bingo! Was too high yesterday and headed for V shaped rock. With GPS wandering that clue helped. TFTC

Still travelling NT after the Red Centre Experience but now moving towards Birdsville in QLD for the Big Red Bash.

Today we explored around our camp at Pine Creek.

We managed to find your cache. woo hoo. Cool But boy talke about do it the hard way!!! Shame we didnt read the previous logs. MR Felix trekked in and spent nearly an hour hunting out your cache! Eventually found safe and well. Sadly he had been searching from way way too high. Eventually at the right level and whoa there it is!.Sucker.

Today we explored Pine Creek and surrounds using geocaching as a guide. Wow this was a great place to visit, not too much water about but managed to get a swim in and enjoy a lazy day. Cache is still in its hidy hole and in good condition. Adding to our favourites.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found this one during my roadtrip through Australia while exploring Northern Territory. Umbrawarra Gorge is really a magical spot. I really enjoyed the walk here. Had to do a lot of rock hopping to find this one, but got it. Sorry for the late log, had no internet.

Thanks for the cache &
greetings from Germany

We visited Umbrawarra Gorge today after a friend in Katherine recommended it to us. It didn'y diappoint and was well worth the diversion. We enjoyed the shady well formed walk and then swam in several of the pools. Most refreshing!
after abeginning to look for the cache on the way in we had abandoned the search without getting near GZ but on the return trip Mr SKI climbed to the rim of the gorge and approached from this way. Now we would like to suggest we were good and talented, but the truth is we were probably lucky.
Approaching from the top at least we had good sattelite reception and the trip to GZ although interesting was relatively direct and accurate.
The GPSr had us very close and then we turned and a rock looked a bit odd and yeas, the cache was behind it.
Another find!
Thanks for a cache in a great location.

Terrain 1 1/2 YOu have got to be kidding!!!!!! But we had traveled too far to go home without finding the cache so off we went in the direction the GPS pointed us. Thankfully it was spot on and after a not so quick scramble we signed the log. TFTC Lovely spot!

Found after a scramble and climb.
Great spot for a swim. I explored about a kilometre of the gorge. Fantastic and just keeps going.

Enjoyed the drive and walk. Reached GZ and read the description and hint and went Doh!!!, no pictures available out here to look at. Headed up to GZ thinking boy, there are a lot of places this could be hidden. Luckily it was quickly found as we looked into the large V shaped rock face on the way up.
Walking further into the Gorge, we came across an area where there were lots of ferns and moss that also had 100s of butterflies flying around.

Had a drive from our caravan park at Pine Creek... walked 300 mtrs from carpark and was bloody sweating from the heat...walked closer to GZ at 16 mtrs away then scrambled up hill...just 5 mtrs from GZ, I spotted the odd hiding place, suspected that that cache would be there and found it...after found the cache, saw heavy black cloud started to pour down...good fun driving on slippery track and creek croosings. Thanks TeamGeoPlesk for bringing me to this nice stroll along the river and gorge

Took a while to find, a great spot to relax and take in the views around the gorge.

This cache was really worth going in for, Umbrawarra Gorge is so beautiful and a nice easy walk in to see some spectacular scenery. Cache was a fairly easy to find, just a short scramble up the hill at the edge of the walking track. After we logged the cache we walked in for awhile and took in the view along with lots of photo's. Thanks for bringing us here. TNLN.

Big Grin A great spot. Took about half a hour of scrambling around, but we finally found it! Beautiful gorge and a very pleasant camp ground. Does anyone know the history of the ruins up behind the cache? Thanks TeamGeoPlesk.

Over the course of a long weekend we eventually found this one Big Grin. The GPS was giving all sorts of readings but nabbed it in the end. Loved camping at this gorge and exploring all the water holes. TFTC

A nice spot - not much water around this late in the season. Cache was spotted quickly which was good given the extreme temperature of the day. TNLN. Thanks TeamGeoPlesk

24-Jul-10
Stumbled around for a while like a mountain goat, leaping from rock to rock whilst the GPS pointer performed sumersaults. Eventually found it after finding some weird 1 m high grasses that I've never before come across, that were covered in a very sticky sap.

Whilst I can understand not wanting to lug a 50 cal ammo tin in... a micro in an area of 1,000 sq kms? Hmmm.

Thanks for taking us to a spot we'd never been to before.

Perfect weather for a long rock scramble/swim up the Gorge followed by finding your cache on the way back out. Scratched my head a few times before noticing it nicely hidden. TFTC!

This place was fantastic! Thanks for taking me there - I would never had of visited otherwise. In my hunt for the cache was thrown by one of the comments in the log but another log got me back on track. I visited early dry season and the water was flowing gently. I had no intention to swim, but could not resit. This is one of the places I will bring visitors. The camping site looks like a great place to pitch a tent too. TFTC!

The find was certainly above any potential flood level! Bit of a scramble, but easy enough find when up there. Execellent time to be at gorge with water still flowing well. Nice sandy beaches in places. Well recommended overnight camp.Mid April, but rained for more than 5 hours from about 5pm in evening. Was worried that water may come up and make for a very wet trip back to the highway. All was well. TFTC.

GPS took us straight to to and a very quick find and it was in the bag. The weather was easier than when Gibboo and NTSTROM did it back in November. Good spot.

19-Apr-09
Took the geofamily for a picnic and swim, it was excellent and we were the only people there, haven't been there for about 6 years
This was a fun one climbing all over the rock face, couldn't find it initially but the the geowife decided to climb as well and she found it straight away, I was looking to high.

17-Apr-09
Was nearby with work, so decided to find it with a work colleague.

We turned up expecting to have a hard time finding it, as previous logs had me worried. GPS led me pretty close to it and we had found it within minutes! Smile

Found on a days caching with NTSTROM. Cache found after a very long and hot search. So many rocks and so many hidy holes. Almost gave this one away but the little cache was finally found. Thanks TGP for the rock hopping challenge and the cache.

Went on a trip down to Pine Creek way with Gibbo on a very hot and humid day. We spent over 30 minutes looking for this cache with many many many many possible hiding spots. Eventually located and were glad to find it. Then it was off to do a close by GCA cache, but thats another story. Thanks TGP for bringing me here as I hadnt been here before.

Woo hoo, another *FTF*

Like the FTF at SRRR - Pine Creek, I didn't really give myself much hope of being the FTF, but after it had not been found when I arrived, my hopes for this one were now quite high.

After the drive in, I took the short walk and then spent about 10 minutes looking before coming up trumps.

A cool area, which I'm sure looks good with a bit more water flowing.

Couldn't leave anything, nothing to take, but TFTC.

And for future cachers, the road in is pretty good.

Cheers,
