Our only DNF of the day. Too busy around here but M gave it a good look. Still nothing.
despite an extensive search in the area we thought it would be found , and three of us at it , we came up empty - maybe too many Autumn leaves around on the ground??
Found it together with Team Autoværn on our New Zealand tour back in 2013.

Found the Second time around in the warm light of day, instead of the wet dark of night like the first time around.
My first geochache was found here!! Awesome hiding spot, loved the moment when I saw the container, can't wait to go again and check the log book! I took a blue pen and left a small friendship notebook; lucky you if you grab that!!!!
At last! After routinely failing to find this and getting scratched to itchy bits, I noted some recent finds after several DNFs and dropped by.
There I was scratching around as usual, going nowhere, and a speck of sunlight illuminated it. Grabbed and as I emerged a muggle with two Staffy dogs stood there watching me. "Nice dogs", I said. He looked at me as if I were mad and walked away. Probably not a Geocacher ...
Anyway, I am real glad to get this one recorded as a find at last. It's been annoying me and scratching me for years.

Wee dudes staying the night at their Grandparents. Mrs G treated Mr G to an evenings caching adventure. What fun! DNF'd this back in May 2012. Looked absolutely everywhere. A few people had found it since (along with a string of DNFs) - thought it was worth another look. Found it straight away this time. Quite a large cache container too (500mL). Not sure why we didnt' find it last time....or why it's playing hard to get. Nice to finally tick it off though. I would encourage people to have another look - It's right there! Cheers.
Our first stop on our way to Hanmer .- a nice quick find in a lovely little park. TFTC.
Like everywhere else, Spring has sprung and the growth is exponential!
The hint object is everywhere ... so wasn't much help.
After about 15min, several close calls with mini-muggles passing by on the way home from school and several injuries later kiwicampnut and I called it a day.
We were removing bits of the tree (somehow I had one between my trouser pants and skin...) when a cyclist slowed down with "Did you find it" - a bit wary as the groundsman at The Ghost of Ginger Tom also asked that, but then spotted the GPS firmly cushioned on the handlebars. It was Sandfly Tucker who'd also looked here today, also with no luck.
Headed back into Chch after this attempt - 6 not bad for the afternoon.

Spent a bit of time under here looking but no luck. Bumped into Kiwicampnut here on the way back to the car, and they had had no luck either. Nice to meet them, though.
Cheers and thanks,

Quick find today. Lots of traffic but no one on foot to question me lurking in undergrowth. TFTH.
Caching with Espired on our way to Mt Thomas. He made the find. Was not as hard as we thought. TFTC.
Had a good 20 minute look around. Lots of rubbish and bottles around. I think it might have been muggled????
Dropped off wee dudes in the early evening for a sleepover at their grandparents. Mrs G suggested a nighttime caching adventure to Rangiora...who was I to complain?! Bit tricky scrabbling around here in the dark - traffic & late night revellers also precluded the joy. Gave up after a short time searching.
Thanks for the cache

a fun find, coping with the 'anti-social' environment, and the non-stop traffic, but we managed it. thanks Moneydork
Very busy corner- and not the easiest environment- but we got the little beggar. TFTC Moneydork
Took longer than expected. Should read hint first next time. TFTC

Took a bit of hunting on a second trip to the site. Plenty of scratches and splinters.
Found it today just over 6 months since our dnf. The plant in the hint is certainly growing well. The coordinates are still around 8 m from the cache. The logical place of entry (given the proximity of ground zero) is not the best place of entry.
Glad to finally tick this one off. We tried months ago and got quite frustrated. Today we were passing through and took our chances. We weren't having any luck again and Chocochunk declared that he was giving up; just then I half-heartedly moved a few branches and spotted it!
In Rangiora for final orienteering event of the year. Almost missed this one, until I almost stepped on it.
Came out with a few scratches but great cache in town I grew up in!!! Thanks!!
All I can say is thank god there is a lot of cover for this cache - I had two people walk right next to the tree and not see me. TFTC (467)
What a way to start the month of - finding a Moneydork cache. Was in town picking up some items brought on TradeMe. Must remember next time I go caching to wear long pants. Had no covering so put a few leaves over it with out making it too hard for the next hunter. GPS took me straight to it. Thanks for the cache took travel bug to move it on.
TFTC. I first attempted this cache late last year, to no avail. so I reluctantly decided to have another go - why was it right where I look in the first 5 seconds??? Who knows, anyway I had a smile on my face and now a smile on my map.
Bit of a discrepancy between where my GPS took me and the location of the plant referred to in the clue. Very disappointed at the amount of rubbish that appeared in this beautiful little reserve over the course of our 3 attempts.
I hated this hide the first time I looked! This time I am much happier as I do not have to come here again! It was a realatively easy find in the end. Thanks
I crawled around under that tree, with the prickles, while wearing jandals (not a good idea by the way), but no joy. I came out to see if the GPS could get us closer than the patch of grass beside the tree, but no. Oh well, use the hint and try again... nope. Come out again, "shall we give up? The last log was a DNF."
THUMP
A cache flies from within the tree and lands at my feet. Another one spotted by Muggle-ish Mark's eagle eyes in the falling dusk. TFTC

This is another cache that gives me the itchies. Already itching like mad from Matawai nearby so thought there's nothing to lose. There were muggles galore and that b-----y tree has now given me hives. Epic fail and determined to return with gloves and long sleeves and pants.
Found the location I was pretty sure. Nice tree. Searched all over and under the creepers but thought, for a standard size cache, it must have been easy to find but no. I hope it was not muggled. Please check. Thanks.
Last time I looked Grace and I were here and it was raining and also about the 8th cache so we gave up the search. Nice sunny day and a quick find. TFTC (278)
3rd find for us. took plastic cow and plastic pirates head ?(kids) and swapped with spiderman toy and carabiner. Thanks
Found without to many problems but yes it was a prickly situation.Removed the moo mo and replaced it with a badge.
Not too scratched despite lack of protective clothing. Nice straightforward find, first of three on a windswept evening. TNLNSL, T4TC
Had a quick look but that was all, I wasn’t dressed correctly to carry out a proper search.
Once we found the general area for the cache it was a easy find, did tear the pants in the process. Found with LittleTuiBird. TFTC
Didn't enjoy not finding this. Spent a while being scraped and jabbed by the tree as I searched, and enjoyed watching a fledgling bird at close quarters, but not found.
Nice to remember Labour Day. Thanks for this cache.
Edited to say: My 50th cache find!

Took a wee bit to find but got it in the end - just off home after a picnic in a local park THTC
Need to come back with some hand and arm protection. It is a really hot day, so the scratches are still pulsating.
Attempted just on dark (without a torch) on way home from school prize giving. Will try again in daylight when I'm next in town.
Mr KE saved me from any further embarrassment

The scene of a previous DNF for Mr KE and I think Mr B had lost count of the number of times he had been here. Armed with a bit more info but lacking an early morning coffee we gave it another go. Mr B promised we could get a coffee as soon as we found this one, real generous of him! Glad to place my hand on the cache in less than a minute this time and very happy about it too. Now he will take me for breakfast and COFFEE!!!! TFTC.
I wonder what the muggles would have thought if they had seen me!! Nice hiding place

This was another delightful area; more Muggles lingering here than anywhere else in Rangioa today! 10/13 found.

What I thought would be a quick snatch and grab turned into a long muggle avoiding hunt. I soon found it although the clue put me off slightly.
(260) Last one for the night, potential to be muggles here at any hour it would seem.. However managed to sneak in and out undetected.. TFTC, SL.
Out and about with Broganbunch doing some night caches in rangiora.
Last for the night. The spouses are calling us home.
TFTC nice hide, except for the prickles.
- purple bees night racer.

Had been by here before but was dark. This time found really fast to our surprise as I was out with badjelly
This took the group a while, but god could have been much longer!
I'm pretty sure it was Rex that came up with the goods, in the dark in the damp and cold.
Splendid finish to the day, warm bubbles in Hanmer, sun, cloud, cold and warmth.
All in a days caching.
Thanks for the cache.

Last find on a magnificent day of caching in beautiful surrounds, with wonderful company - my good friends McPhan, Zsazsa7, Sol de Lune and our Kiwi connection RexTrex. It has been fabulous seeing this end of this stunning country, and thank you guys for making the trip such enormous fun. And thank Moneydork for a cool hide to end the day.
Found after a day of caching to the North of Christchurch, plus blobbing out in hot pools. The last find of the day in the dark and cold. Did the bizzo then headed for home. Thanks Moneydork.
Thanks for another quick find as we headed back into CHCH after another big day out. Cheers,
3193. [font=Comic Sans Ms][green]Took a long while to find it. As it was a hide by one of the few NZ hiders we've met we wanted to find this one. Lots of places to hide but eventually to habd.

Nice One!!!!!!!!! No muggles, so no one to wonder what in the world is that idiot doing. Murphy's law did not prevail and quick find was made. Great afternoon caching in the area. Much fun Well done. Thanks
