Looked around for the good part of an hour for this one. Raked the whole place from bank to bank and other than trash found a rusted hunk of twisted metal dangling from a twig over the water and a small plastic bottle with a pencil and mushy paper in it. Area seems very flood prone and weedy and the banks of this stream are eroding badly. Perhaps I found it and maybe not but this cache should probably be replaced or moved. Both possum houses rotten and fallen, spiky weeds all over the place and trees fallen where Gz should be... Almost logged a find anyway for my effort but will instead return if replaced.
No joy here for me either.
The 1.5 terrain stars are very misleading as the co-ords are off in the bush/creek.

no luck today, possum paradise is destroyed and sitting next to undercover area, creek area all overgrown and eroded!! Can we confirm the cache still exists??
Cheers

Had a good hunt for this, found what was probably the possum's paradise, and got absolutely covered in grass seeds. Cheers Gav
Had a look for this cache this afternoon, we thought that it may be a challenge seeing as it hadn't be found for a while. The GPS led us into the long grass but we didn't have any luck there. We'll be back to have another look soon and be watching to see if anyone else finds it. Thanks for the challenge.
Found easily. Log needs replacing as it is turning to mush. Bet you thought about making a false box?
Thanks

The log book was sitting in a container half full of water, so I dried everything as much as possible before returning.

Thought I was on the wrong side here. Went around to the other side only to find that I had been on the right side! Such is caching.
The only non-ammotech cache in Kalynda . Was easy to find, after walking through two spider webs (I hate those things). Have to come back and have a look at daylight, from what I saw in the dark it seems to be a nice little park.
As stated before logbook is quite damp, still usable though.
Thanks Cat and Bear.

Found at 12:05pm Getting hungry and the kids are starving, but we have to find this cache. Thought the GPS was telling us porkies and kept heading towards the creek and thats where we found the cache, right there.
Log is very wet and needs Maintenance urgently.

Found cache after referring to the hint as GZ on the GPS wasn't where the cache was. Cache is wet and will need drying out.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Love this park but I wish I could have said hello to the residents. Log was pretty wet, but all else dry. TFTC SL
Loved this one ... another one I tried for on Australia Day but couldn't access due to the flood waters. The cache was filled with water so I dried it out and did my best for the soaked log. Then onto the next cache!

Found ourselves twice on the wrong side of the creek with Jibba Jabba but in the end we had the cache. TNLNSL TFTC
Seventh for the day but had to wait for the council workers to move on. TNLNSL TFTC
Found it after wandering about for a bit.
The leaves on the trees were damp and affected GPS reception.
There were a few very friendly trees about and it took a little while to get the last of the thorns out of my skin. Ah Well!!!

We were really enjoying this park until a bus load of kids and 3 supervisors showed up to push us out of the swing area...already had the cache so we headed onto the next! TFTC SL TNLN
Just logging through my geo disco TB as its now back home again after our road trip.
Logging through a very large Travel Bug, Cat and Bear's Geo Disco Travel Bug.
How quickly things change!! great new little suburb and nice park. Luckily only small amount of rain this morning as I decided to approach from the wrong side of the creek. TFTC Cat and Bear
Just grabbing the two trackables which will head north with me. And yes I have seen possum's there of a night time..... : )
A lovely little nook but are there really any possums here? It seems too isolated from any other trees with all the new houses around. But lovely little paradise for any possums who drop by Dropped Yurtle and Myrtle TB - they're turtles you know!
296th cache. 119th in Oz.
Great spot, nice destination for a morning ride.
Took golden orb geocoin.

Found a small green toy on a keyring while looking for the cache - thought the cache might have been pinched. Found it nearby thankfully. Signed the log.

Charlie and I are here from Oregon, USA, visiting friends and traveling the east coast in a camper van. We were lucky enough to have freinds living here, who drove us right to the area. We showed them this, and a few other caches....and they are hooked! TNLNSL TFTfun
These possums are damn lucky to live here. After getting a bum steer ftom tomtom (estate does not exist) garmin does not have anything lower than a highway for this area, we resorted to laptop and google maps to find our way in...thank god for wireless internet.

Found while in Townsville on a business trip.
This was a nice quick and easy find. How much has this area been built up. I used to chase pigs around here years ago.
My goal (10) for this trip has been reached so I am putting little ted GC in the cache so that he can play with the possums.

Went to check in on the Cache as The Red Devils logged a DNF and all is good at the GZ. Cache is neatly hidden in its surrounds.
Had a pretty good look around on both sides of the little creek but no joy today.
Nice area, quick find, no possum's....but little muggles who followed me around. Found and signed while sitting very low so as not to be observed.
Think it worked............

The cache is now back up, hopefully rain, cyclones are gone for a nother year. Enjoy finding this one. : )
Disabled again due to rain, rain and more rain. Cache will be back up and running once the water has subsided. I have physically removed the cache " again : ) "
Our 3rd find for the day. A nice little detour on our way back from Charters Towers. Lovely little park. TNLNSL Thanks for the cache.
Hi All, Cache is back up again.
I came here the other night and saw a possum in its home which was a nice surprise. Enjoy the cache.

********* Due to recent flooding and rain issues that we are all experiencing as a precaution I have temporarily removed this cache so that it doesn’t get washed away. I apologies for any inconveniences this may cause. Cache will be back up and running as soon as the rain stops and water levels go down ***********
Thanks guys, didn't know this little park was here. Took a little bit to find the box because the gps was all over the place. Took coin to move on else where
Our GPS was a bit off due to the cloud cover so we wondered around for a bit. Nice spot for a picnic. The cache-kids had a fun time on the playground equipment. Took nothing. Left Forest Cache Frog Geocoin. TFTF.
Found with bubblensqueak this beautiful Sunday afternoon whilst out for a ride on the bike, nice estate, very quiet. TNLN, TFTC.
Found with Gazza572003 whilst out bike riding in the cool of the afternoon. Nice suberb and so quiet. Didn't see any possums but there were lots of possum houses in the area something I have never seen before.. TFTC.
What a great day of caching with my early Xmas present, a Garmin Oregon 300 GPS. The Reluctant Companion and I enjoyed the little park at Kalynda Chase and just loved the possum houses. Great to see the Council thinking of such things. The gardeners were in action again but we had no trouble finding the hide. TNLN. TFTC.
Never been to this suburb before. Got lost using the driving directions, but decided to use the reliable GPS. Easy find with no muggles around..... maybe because it was a little rainy. Anyway, TNLN as we forgot to bring along our geocaching exchange bag... OhWell!!
"Silver" for me! Found the cache at 12.20pm. Lovely area - new house etc. Excellent hide spot. Search for while until found it. SL. Thanks Cat and Bear for organising the cache and hunt.
After the FTF frenzy on "stu" last week, I am amazed I was able to score a FTF here 5 Days after it was published.I drove past this morning but didn't stop due to muggle gardeners in the area, came back this afternoon and had the park to myself, well for a few minutes anyway. The clue made the find so easy my GPSr didn't come out of my pocket. No swaps today, quickly signed the log then rehid as muggles desended from two directions. Thanks Cat and Bear for bringing me to this nice little spot.
PS (added14/11/08) Cat and Bear have removed the give away clue, future finders will have to rely on their GPSr.Cheers.
