I headed up the coast with a plan to grab a few caches that have the off road attribute. I was prepared to head up as far as Gympie for a nice day to just drive around and check out some areas I have not seen in a while. However, at my first cache I noticed a couple of common signatures and with todays date, really? The next cache was the same, am I chasing these fellow cachers? So I made a call and it turns out we have the same goal and a few common caches in mind. A plan was hatched and we got to catch up for a little driving adventure and few caches along the way. With the day still having a few hours left, the others went off to collect more of their target caches. I headed on my own trails and saw others further a field that I could get, plus a few as I passed. I signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for bringing me here.
landylovers I found your cache Wide Open Spaces on 13/7/2023, 10:00 am. This is my find 5893 and find # 1 today. Beautiful drive. A quick and easy find with the help of the hint. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
We are in the area for the Magic Maker Event on Kenilworth Bluff and used the day before to get out here.
We love country drives and enjoyed the area.

Log was completely disintegrated and container nearly completely buried. We put in new paper in sealed plastic bag. TFTC
Muggle drove past as I was logging my find. Pretty sure they thought I was peeing behind the tree. easy find. Tftc
Exploring the area with Mrs B5 today we pulled up and followed the numbers to the big tree. A lot of digging around yielded a few broken pieces of plastic and what looked like a sodden and stained log. I had a few bits and pieces in my glovebox, so a new temporary container and clean log sheet were found and placed where we had found the remnants of the old cache. Tftc Landylovers and Eatmorechikin
A quick find. Loving the drive along Bella Creek Road. Thanks for the hide and onto the next one.
Continuing our exploration of Bella Creek Rd much to the amusement of the local cows.
Once near quite an interesting big tree, the cache was soon located having lost some of its camouflage. The container is cracked in several places and really needs to be replaced - unfortunately we didn't have a big enough one with us to fit in all of the swaps. The bag with the swaps in was full of water and was very difficult to remove from the container. After a bit of tug o war, we did it and I removed the damaged plastic bag and a wet wad of some sort of kids collector cards. The log in it own plastic bag was surprisingly dry and quite useable.
Took car, left bell.
From here we turned around deciding to return with the 4WD for the other 2 further down the road.

Out with Dora the Explorer! collecting a few caches she wanted to target. We missed stopping for this one on our way past, so stopped on our way back again. The cache was quickly located and our names added to the log and before we continued on our way. TFTC
Quick and easy find with Selva Girls. Beautiful area, decided to take out the new Mahindra for a drive heading towards my targeted caches, Cleo and Post and Rails.
This lovely old cache was cracked and weather worn we put a plastic liner in to protect the log and goodies a bit longer. Log can be extracted without taking the bag out of container. TFTC
Found this a while back but forgot to log. Found with barbbowman slammer and fasted 59
Out and about today with my amazing GeoWife KaleidoscopeCass in the Imbil area. Decided to go for a looky here and a looky there.. and this was one of a few that resulted in a smiley.. TFTC!
Cache container has suffered from the weather and started breaking down. Unfortunately I didnt have a spare honey jar in the geotruck. Sorry Sweet -Sour.. have added photo to log of container so you can see how damaged it is

Definitely lived up to its name when I found this cache out in the open laying on the ground. Sorry we couldn't replace the container. To any other finders, our felt tip type ink pen wouldn't work on the wet log but a biro got us by... Beautiful country worth the drive
Virtually parked on GZ , all good with the cache. Often wondered if you have a Land Rover because of your cache name? TFTC landylovers
family caching adventure with fasted 59, bubba 89, barbbowman, jimmyproject, slowpuncture, and mr jat
Out with a small group of friends to increase the D/T rating.
After driving past this one we all had to turn around and drive back to GZ.

Hmm, seems no-one was watching there GPS. We all overshot the mark by about a kilometre. Quick U-turn and we were soon back a GZ.
Log signed and replaced.

Sunrday. Slow Puncture met at Kilcoy early this morning with some other intrepids from the Northside Puzzle Group to nab some higher terrain and difficulty caches.
After collecting Cleo, we continued our journey. In our excitement, we all drove past it and had to do a U-turn, and go back. Once at GZ, another quick find was made. These certainly are wide open spaces indeed! Then, another U-turn was required, and we were back on our way.
This was the 4th of 11 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***landylovers***, for showing us this place.

Found this one a few days ago...have been past this spot a few times over the past decade. TFTC.
After finding the earlier cache we decided to continue driving into the hills as the road was pretty good and it had stopped raining. Found the cache quickly and admired the views. The country certainly changes out here and we were enjoying it. TFTCSL
found today while out with sweet-sour doing some cache maintenance and finding a few new ones

Well I don't think anyone can argue with the cache title for this one. A remarkable drive along the road to this point after the event yesterday and now in the company of Nyssaflutterby and membsec. With all the recent rain this vast area was so very green. Not a place I've come to before and I was sure loving this place. The cache was a quick find and we all signed the logbook. Another great excuse to see this road, TFTC landylovers
What a great way to spend a Sunday, a beautiful drive with a cache along the way, good company and fresh air. Found with membsec and Captain Terror.

This cache was part of our post- Forest Challenge caching today. Nyssaflutterby, Captain Terror and ourselves completed an epic day of caching with some great views, brilliant 4WD driving and great company - a most enjoyable day.
A very peaceful valley, so isolated and yet so near to civilisation.

One just does not appreciate how much area there is out here. I don't think I can recall ever being in this part of the world. It certainly is beautiful.
I parked up and made a find right where the GPSr indicated. It was in great condition. A great place for a stop. TFTC landylovers and Eatmorchikin

Quick find.
Big wide rolling hills here.
Nowhere to hide if sudden traffic should come.
Lucky I was quick signing and we were just into the next area when a car turned up and passed us.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks landylovers & Eatmochkin and thanks sweet-sour for replacing the cache.
I recognised your handywork.

Thanks for placing the cache way out here landylovers. We were very pleased to drive out here today with a convoy of cars from the Forest Challenge 6 Geocaching Event. The cache was found in good condition and once the 'found it' cry died down we all lined up to sign the log. TNLNSL.
Rattling along, 5 of us in 4WD courtesy of Forest Challenge#6 organiser, and we found some extra caches. Thanks to the cachers who placed this one in a screw top container, it certainly protects from the rain. I was delighted to get some caches out here, I'd never normally be able to travel these roads in my little Yaris so I was thrilled to get smileys in this wonderful country. Thanks for keeping the cache here.
Found with a small posse from the Forest Challenge 6. Another worthwhile cache in a great location, thanks for bringing me here.
Out with some of the cachers that attended the forest challenge yesterday

Expected to find this very wet, as per the previous log by Jasenjanine, an understatement, full of water, everything driping wet.
Replaced the container with a 1kg honey jar, new log book, left a path tag.
Had to modify it's hide to accommodate the larger container, left it standing up, less chance of getting full of water again. Added some more debris to the hide.

Found after a short hunt while on our drive through the hills today. I initially overlooked it and had to call in the pregnant one to have a second look.
So nice to be so far from anywhere.... or so it seemed. Thanks landylovers

My first first-to-find, first for the day, and first with a GPS. Took first-to-find badge - thank you. Took bouncy ball, left WW fish!
Yahoo! Been watching this one for weeks, and on the first day of the hols, we got there! Found with Huge Red Machine (geoson). First first-to-find (well, his really), first find of the day, my 30th find, and our first find with a GPS (so that's how they work!)! Unfortunately cache was 'water-damaged' so it currently has a temporary log and stash note. Maybe if the next visitor has spares before the owner makes it back there...? Thanks for the cache!
