Archived. Done its dash and the area has deteriorated so now I think the cache is boring.

Will relocate as a new cache somewhere else...

Cheers,
GenCuster.

I managed to get to the cache without getting scratched. Maybe I was lucky, but I would prefer to think it was because I did a quick survey of the lie of the land to work out a good path to take. The beeline is not always the best way to go. Great to see a good size cache with plenty of room for trades. I left a soldier figurine and took the Scotland the Brave TB to be relocated overseas. TFTC.

Found on yet another wintery Wellington day. TN +piglet TFTC. Cheers!

I am going to move this to a neew location (new cache) next week when I am back in Wellington.

It's far to close to another cache anyway (which I did not realise when I placed it), which just makes it boring anyway Wink

this site is begoming quite overgrown with gorse and blackbury. it might be a good idea to carry out some maintenance before summe and it gets too over grown. gret view all the same

2818. Have been up here to dump rubbish when staying with relations in the area. What a difference now! This was very slippery for an early morning walk and left a few muddy knees!
Left the Signal geocoin.

Thanks

Visiting Newlands after a 30 year absence. I too remember coming here to dump stuff as a kid. Now living in Montana, USA. Great hiding spot (oh yeh, I remember gorse and blackberry!) only a couple of dog walkers about. Nice to see the area turned into a dog recreation area. Great to see Geocaching alive and well in NZ. Geocaches look the same the world over. Left Montana pen. TFTC

A quick find during an afternoon's cache-finding expedition. I think the last time I came here was when it was a working rubbish tip - it certainly has changed! Signed log, TFTC and for giving me the excuse to come and have a look at how the area has progressed!

Just discovered I don't have the printout of the site or my compass, they must have fallen out of my pocket at the site. If anybody finds them can they let me know. I'll probably go back in a day or so to look for them.

20:00 Don't know about the blackberry moaners - following the track and walking around the bush - yes, I saw the result of the unnecessary bush-bashing - had the cache in hand on a drizzly evening with no scratches. There is no gorse and no blackberry on the approach if it is thought about and eyes are used. Maybe the quickest route is not the straightest route?

Saw my name signed on the inside of the lid. Cool ay!

3TF. Even though it was overcast and cloudy, rays of sunshine were shining through the clouds making it quite magical. Met two friendly canines on the way there. One canine almost caught us replacing the cache. TFTC. -GC + Geo(ff) Leopard TB.

A cache with my name on it, how cool is that! Nice to see this one again. But not the best thing to be wandering around in the gorse and blackberry in my office attire so pleased to come sooner rather than later before the summer growth. Familiar area, used to dump my rubbish here many years ago, and made a recent visit to the very nearby "Launching Platform" cache.

Nice quick find whilst waiting for my pizza order close-by.
Yes, I went to Hell Wink

Yeha, RichKai get their 1st FTF, knew there need to be a positive side to being an unemployed graduate student. Raced out as soon as we could and found that shorts and bare feet, which were appropriate for a sunny day in the garden were not so good for this cache. Also had two dilemmas the GPSr favored two Hebe depending on which way we approached and with the 2m clue, was not sure if that was a vertical 2m or a linear 2m. Anyway apart from a few cuts and scratches from the blackberry and gorse it was a fun cache to find. TFTC
