I passed by the site today
With the geomobile parked 'bout a hundred metres away,
I made tracks toward the tracks
The wreck was clearly visible in the trees
Initial thoughts were,
"Gawd I hope the cache is in the glovebox."
Dream on If !!
Standing around with a dumb look on me face helped
And after a few moments I spied the cache
TFTC !!
Best guess for the ex-cars identity is ... *Holden Special Station Sedan*
A variant of the HR.
Though I doubt this wreck could be restored

Found it! Wish I'd worm shoes instead of thongs though, definatly snake territory. The closest place to park is not a good place to stop the car but if you drive a few more metres to the next safe place to pull over, is right where the gate is down so was very easy to get to. Is perfectly hidden, not too hard to find, I didnt want to have to cut myself on the old wreck to find it so I was happy with it.
As former German residents, we are travelling along this road to the German Creek Camp.

Travelling to Emerald from Moranbah, a quick stop found quite easily with 19PJR79. TFTC
Day 4 of the get to QOGM 2018 trip. Travelling with RoddyC and Mrs RoddyC in two separate travelling machines and last night we stayed in Moranbah. Time to set off. Not logging these in order of being found. We arrived at this spot and did not take too long to find what we sought. The fence is down over the old road alignment so it was an easy walk and no long grass.

We came across your cache, daBuzzards, on our way with youngoldfella, caching towards this year's QOGM in Barcaldine.
Nice quick find. Thanks four placing.
Log signed and cache replaced at 3.35 PM on September 20, 2018. TFTC.

We had a good search around but no luck at all here today.
Too many hiding holes & too many rusty places to poke my hands into to.
Thanks

Very early morning cache find on the way to Dysart. TFTC

Out on a days caching from Mackay.
Found after about 10 minutes.
Shame the old Holden ended it's days like this.
I believe she was a HR.

Slow going, took 5 minutes for these forensic detectives. Left a new log. Please try to keep to one line only as the cache owners are not always easily accessible and we certainly do appreciate their efforts. TFTC DaBuzzard
Omg!!! Finally found it with the help of Alicia. 4th time lucky!!!!! Can't believe I missed it all the other times ha! TFTC.
Dang! Still no find again. Maybe a wet day but at work and looking ha! Thanks for the hunt, will try again soon hopefully.
Still can't find it....I am not giving up though.... I will return! It must be so obvious, because I have searched high and low- in every crack and crevis....hopefully better luck next time!!!!
Found with Tassiegirl13 while visiting here on holidays.
We'd spent about 30-45mins here and thought we had looked in every nook and cranney.
Then as we were about to give up I found one more little hidey hole and there was the cache.
Thank god we found it, we didn't fancy DNFing it after the work we'd put in.

Finally found it. Took some looking and feeling around. Not sure how I missed it before.
Gotcha !!! After camping the night at " Oh Dam'' we set out for home with a few more caches to find on the way. This was the first. Thanks Clay, I've been meaning to come out here for some time. Visited TB's and GCs.
This was a challenge I wanted to win an I did. Third time lucky. This is a great hide.
Found the wreck, but not the cache. Must be well hidden. Will try again if soeone else can find it now.
Ah what a mission! The road to the car is badly overgrown and I had to bush bash through waist high grass and still didn't find the cache grrr.
Difficulty rating my only be one & half if you know where to look.
I spent quiet a while looking, but then it was easy to find eventually.

Great spot to place a cache kids loved the old car , think it my be a hr Holden wagon
was looking for some time but in the end had to give up but will try again soon, Love the hunt just the same. Hooroo
Found after a very long look around. I believe the vehicle in its day was a HR Holden Station Wagon as identified by a South Australian friend travelling with us. Thanks for the incentive to travel that way.
Got him 2nd time 'round !
Had the help of a very talented young female apprentice, who's lookin' like she's converted to this Geocaching now.
Cheers daBuzzard !

Didn't find this time 'round. I was a bit pushed for time travelling to a job at Middlemount.
Brought back some good old memories looking at that old rig. A mate from school bought one about that same vintage when he got his P's. I can remember loading it up with about 7 of us cutting some good circlework on the river flats back home !

This time, I managed to grab it, eventually. Another trip by car to collect a train from Dysart. A quick pit stop that just happened to coincide with this location. I dont know how I missed it previously. Found at 1215hrs.

Managed to stop a week or so ago, on our way by car up to Dysart to pick up a train. No luck with finding it. I was limited with time, with only about 5 minutes to look. My mate was having a smoke break. Definately a HR Holden station wagon.
I will have another look another time.

Staying at the dam nearby ,trying for redclaw, think it may be just a tad too cool ,but we are getting some ..Found GZ co-ords grear ,the cache not as easily but eventually spotted it ,well hidden . We think the cars a Holden Station wagon 1965,we had an EH ,that we did up ,our pride & joy TFTC & keeping fun goingxx
Camped down the road at the Dam and had to go look at the wreck and see what we could find.
Almost stopped at this one yesterday, on the way back from Lake Vermont mine to Bluff with a full load on. But thats what prevented me from stopping, a full load. My timing was out, and I would have missed by a few hundred metres, and its a bit tough reversing a train. Next time.

A quick find while I was in the area. A little before my time, but a classic aussie car (0 to 100km in 15 seconds!). Maybe too much power for the driver?

Co-ords spot on for this one. A quick jump over the fence tested out the limbs early in the morning. TFTC.

After an early start to be at nearby Grasstree mine by 9:00 a.m. I was able to sneak this one in between appointments. I noted that the there was a faded price tag on the tailgate of this rather sad old 1966 HR wagon of $200 ono. To quote Darryl Kerrigan... “Tell ‘im he’s dreamin’”. There is a slightly better condition blue HD wagon at 26 11.746 S 148 01.301 E, admittedly it might not have the optional geocache but I might be able to get that one cheaper.
