There has been 5 DNF's, I think this has been muggled. Angel755 I think you should look at this one. Thanks!!
Since returning home I now have worked out the cache containor. As I know the location it should be an easy find next visit.
Found the Echidna but no cache containor. I remember making these when I was at school.
JABs.

Mr Northwood was in the ACT visiting Nana and Grandad Northwood - time for a few caches as well!
Searched for quite sometime with no luck whatsoever. Obviously we're on the wrong track!

This was a 50% success, so I cannot really say i found it.
I located Edna,l but I could not locate the log. Looked about quite a bit, scratching myself on the vegetation, but all to avail.
Maybe another day.

With Emongs, Couldnt find this one. Had good poke around for a while but no luck. Had parked car at end of culdesac nearby and when we walked back up footpath found 2 police cars parked around my car, thought "oh, no, the neighbours have obviously got suss and the dogs barking has alerted them and they have called in boys in blue. Any way as we got closer to car, a very friendly cop started chatting away and told us they were just checking on an abandoned house and dogs, asked us if we live nearby and when we said no, didnt ask us what we were doing or why we were poking around behind someones back fence!!! Out of there quick smart.
found just as we were about to leave. gps on phone not doing so good. +- 40m. heard the crazy dog, saw stunned bird in the nest then about to go and there was edna. spoted by geowife. took a bit to pull out log but made it all the same. thanks and loved the camo job
Found it! Puddle teen found it. Puddle teen is so skilled at caching! Woop woop! Puddle gang rocks!
I looked up, and there she was - looking me in the eye! Lovely Edna is starting to look a little the worse for wear, but she should be fine for a few more finds, yet.
Spent a while looking in the dark. Think this needs to be a day time find.
We did spot a bird sitting in a nest looking stunned. Though it was the cache with great camo until it blinked.

Found your cute cache and signed for everlasting too, she did find it a couple weeks ago but could not open it eh. I opened it easily Thanks for the hunt.
Found it, but wasn't able to retrieve log. Attached small piece of paper on the outside. TFTC!
Found the Edna the Echidna - love your camo so much - pity I cant log due cant pull out. Thanks Angel755 for organising the camo and hunt.
After finding Spot the Nut and seeing the vegetation nearby, I knew exactly what I was looking for. It was just a matter of finding it. I used to collect 'echidnas' when I was younger. They made great pets!
Thanks,
Trillian
Thanks,

well after 4 attempts to find edna i finally found her, the first attempt was at night and i know now that it would have been almost imposible to find it then and the next two time i did not have a gps with me so i was looking in the wrong spot. finaly on my 4th attempt i found her in less that a minute.

Edna has a new log and is happily hiding waiting for the next cachers to find her.
Showing a friend geocaching, she's quite taken with it. Took a short time to find (was looking where echidna's are not want to be generally.. Nice chamo.
I too found and angry dog, a broken chair and a broken fan, but I also found Edna. You were so close savvyandsam!
It is good to see that edna has so many friends nearby to keep her company.
PS
The log is full and starting to deteriorate. The bit that I signed had some detached from the main scroll.

This was a nemesis of Mercury Prawnhead that he was determined to knock off today. The combined powers of MP, AP and the eagle eyes of Mrs Mercury Prawnhead soon had the cleverly camo'd cache in hand.

Ahh Edna!!! Today you never stood a chance! I came armed with Eagle Eyed Mrs MPH and despite my VERY thorough searching on previous occasions today I knew it would be over for you.
And it was.
Mrs MPH does it again - literally one minute after we arrive finding Edna. Thank goodness to have this one crossed off....

We found a lot of droppings.
We found a very angry dog.
We found a plastic chair and a broken fan.
But we did not find Edna. Guess she musn't have felt like socialising today...maybe another day we'll give it a try.

Yay!!!!! Found her! Finally! Third visit and I was sooooo close to her each time.
Beautiful cache and good position. I enjoyed it, even with all the frustration.
Thank you.

Actually found Edna a few weeks ago but even though I had poked and prodded I was unable to open Edna. As I was a bit worried that any further attempt might break her I decided to leave Edna and seek some guidance on how to go about logging the find. Anyway - noticing that others had been recently I thought that Edna might be feeling a bit more loose and carefree [:X] and as I was on a bit of a roll tonight with micro's decided to drop by and see if she would open up for me. Sure enough this time she revealed her secret quite easily. Thanks Angel755 for yet another well crafted micro. [^]
Another DNF. I am getting a complex!
Will go back and widen my search area.
Nearby dog really didn't like us being there!

Edna obviously liked the look of us. She called to us and we found her in less than a minute. Very cute!
Third time lucky!!!!!!!! Edna had been watching us and obviously thought we were strange. So did the barking dog nearby. Bondies will like this one and remember Edna is watching you!!!
Knew this one was going to be hard from what I had heard. Gz put me in a clearing mmmmm I wonder where. Yes rang a friend again. while on the phone I saw something that he was describing ohhhh there you are Very cute, now how do I open it. The tool there didnt work rang another friend and knew he wasnt too far away so grabbed the cache. Quick walk and had it open. Back to gz and replaced the cache Nice camo TFTC
Spent 20 mins looking but obviously not in the right spot. The hound nearby started to bark and it was time to go. We'll be back another day!
DNF, for want of looking. Got chased back to the car after about 30 seconds of looking..
Hint don't park anywhere near 9 Raphael Cl, best description i can think of (that is at least clean) is total red neck.

Took us a bit of a search to find it.Never seen one like this before and you virtually have to touch it before it appears. This cache must have a high DNF rate.Out of 72 caches found over the weekend ,this one was voted "no 1 " amongst the Farmers.Thank you to Angel 1755 for the clever work.
As we approached GZ for this one, despite the camo gear of the person in question we spied a cacher (or someone who was seriously disturbed!!!) disappearing into the shrubbery. With a knowing snicker, we took the geohound, Huxley, straight past and looped around for a little while, trying to give her an opportunity to find it before we decended upon the area. She wasn't having a lot of luck, and when we returned moments later, she correctly guessed we were there for the hunt. After the introductions were made, we embarked (no pun intended) upon a search of the area, spreading out well for good measure.
This turned out to be the last cache of the day... and it was a good one, too. Shadow! was the one who came up with the goods, after 4 of us searched for about 15 minutes I guess.
Well done - a neat cache.
Thanks for the hunt today.
Hopefully I will see you on the logs from caching on the northside sometime!

Found @ 4:39pm with Fore!, Shadow! & Huxley the geohound
As we approached this one we noticed someone else looking so we meandered past giving them the chance to search. We moseyed back past and were promptly asked if we were looking for this one! That's how we met horde_spirit.
With 4 sets of eyes searching, it was Shadow! who made the find again. Another clever container! TFTC!!!

Found with Huxley, allrounder and Fore! on a 9 cache visit for the day... well... we visited 9 but found 7.
Again, the others would be cacheless if it wasn't for me [:o)] ah, some days I think they'd be lost without me.

I have been wanting to look for this one for a while and today I had the chance. I made a quick find although it did take me a couple minutres to get Edna to give up her log.
Great cache, I can see how if you didn't look right at Edna, you woundn't see her.

This suburb mustn't have liked us - the third DNF for the day. Edna decided not to play ball, and instead insisted I be like her. So I made sure the trees embedded their pointy leaves into my shirt, which made me look like an echidna. On the way back to the car, Webby and I dropped into the church and sang a few lines of 'You'll never walk alone' before going our separate ways.
Hmmm, nuffin. Oh Well, next time we will bring the GPS out of the car with us to narrow the search area down. LOL

Not sure how this and Stumped My Toe can have the same difficulty rating. Anyway - I didn't search overly long due to my geo-hounds and the dog across the fence not exactly seeing eye to eye about a prolonged attempt. I thought I was in the right spot with all those eyes watching me so I will have to return later on one day when I am dog-less.
Big tip for cachers, if you are with the Beagle, make sure he reads more than one persons logs, and that he is not the only one looking for the caches.
we were originally in the local tip area by the looks, looking at what the beagle thought looked like an echidna type thing, so we looked all over it for the next 10 minutes, "Dude you sure we are looking in the right place", "yeah look at this log".
1st tip was it was a DNF, next was the others read about it being in a tree, "luke its in a tree"
So we look near by, in the failing light all we caught was a silver glint attached to Edna, found here and SL

This was my first venture down South from the North-side and initially the amount of trash at this site was a little off-putting. I like my nice clean hands. But, remembering the comments from a previous log a quick glance revealed Edna.

A great hide...found on the way to the Febuary No Frills Family Event Dinner. I don't think we ever would have found it if we hadn't read previous logs though. Thanks for a fantastic cache.
Its a damn shame about all the household junk that has been dumped here.
However, Edna is very cute although its not the sort of spot you usually find Echidnas (at least, not that Ive ever seen)!
Thanks again Angel755 for another well crafted cache

Very well disguised, lucky we read previous logs or would never of found it. Also ashamed that people have been using this site as a rubbish tip.

Found with Geohound Cougar who was doing his best to act as a decoy for the police van that was parked beside us on the median strip! Gigglygecko found Edna before Cougar (luckily) but couldn't sign log as our pencil had broken and had nothing else to write with or to sharpen pencil with. Hmmm.... took photo of Edna to send as proof of find. TFTC and loved the camo.

third time lucky had a quick look for this one twice on the way past this time i looked the other side of the clearing "those eyes just stareing at me TFTC.
Sorry Super-T for your disappointing experience.
Luckily other cachers have not had this problem. I agree since hiding Edna, a disowned chair and fan have been dumped in the area (not right on top of her luckily!) however she is still hiding in her protected spot.
Hopefully you have more luck next time when you search for her.

Maybe it's because it's a protected species, but I'm obviously a very poor Echidna Hunter, because I couldn't find this one.
Mind you, what self respecting echidna would live in this dump is anyone's guess. Broken chairs, broken fans, and heaps of rubbish, made it one of the least pleasant places I've ever been to look for a cache.
Not sure I'll go back for another look, certainly not without a better clue, because combing through people's illegally discarded rubbish at length wasn't much fun.
Hope whoever dumped it didn't scare (read: steal) away the Echidna.

Hidden reasonably well against others of her type, but a relatively quick find, the eyes give it away!

Well this was our first try at finding a cache. no luck this time, but Edna is the closest cache to our house so I'm determined to find her one day!
Found on the way back home from some Namadgi caching. First echidna I've spotted that doesn't live down low. Hmm.
The end of a hot day of caching and we had a fair look around, but we just couldn't spot Edna.
NIce little hide, love the trouble you went to with the container. Thanks for the cahce. ZZ7
#440 - It didn't take too long to find Edna. She seemed to be having a lazy afternoon and by the smile was quite pleased to see us . Thanks for the cache
A very clever hide indeed – this ended up being Pohutukawa's 1000th cache. It took a little time to find it in the dark however. Nice one all the same. Cheers Gav [3137]
Found with the kiwi team on our great Australian caching tour.
A tricky one to do in the dark but we found it. Stoopid dog nearby yapping the whole time we were there, sounded a bit strained toward the end of it all.
Loved the hide, TFTC

A bloke on a government motor mower went past as I was looking for this and I could see in his reaction that he thought I was some kind of nutcase scavenging around in amoungst the trees, luckily I found it shortly after that so no people in white coats today.
Excellent work on the container, I felt like I was being watched when I initially looked around here early in the search and as it turned out when I eventually found it, if it had teeth it could have reached out and bitten me.

Decided to go find this one with wasptor on his lunch break. What a sweet little cache this was! With the cache in hand we signed the log and then were on our way to grab some food. TFTC
Ducked out with Fraggles over lunch to pick off this one. Went in expecting a bit of a hunt, but had it in the hand straight away. And an echidna in the hand is worth two in the bush (or even on the side of the road). Saw one of these critters the other week while out on a cache, but they're few and far between.
Looking for an anteater we did hunt
And without a GPS we took a punt
But found her we did
Then signed and rehid
For an echidna, it was a pretty good stunt

Found this cute little cache relatively quickly - during a light shower! - The only thing that slowed me down was the terrain rating... @2.5 I was looking in all the hard/wrong places first! Not sure why MTBO want's it to be 3? I recon it's 1.5... TNLN, thanks Angel755 for the fun! Mind you, I have a very sore leg now! - Must have collected a largish black ant, during the search, and then sat on it in the car. I gather it didn't like that, as it bit me - twice!
After being swooped by a magpie, I thought it might be nicer to hang out with Edna for a bit, so detoured here on the way home. The cache was located relatively quickly, but I think a casual conversation helped me out a bit. I brought along a couple of TBs to visit some of the Australian fauna. TFTC - very nicely constructed.
737 - An afternoon run to pick up some new caches and one old one.
This one took a bit of looking - but then I saw that Edna was looking at me the whole time ! Nice cache and copntainer.

1596. I had to get CoolAid from his mother's house today so he knows the drill. If he gets a lift I get a cache. I was a bit nervous about this one seeing as it had taken a couple of experienced cachers quite a while to find it. Luckily the penny dropped after 5 minutes and the another minute until it was spotted. All without CoolAid's youthful (youthless?) assistance. Well maybe a little he appeared at GZ at the same time I did. Loved the hide very nice.

After another thirty minutes, I realized that I had encountered a nemesis. So thank God for helplines! My problem was that I had an incorrect preconception about where echidnas live.
Thanks Angel755 for organizing the hunt and another very clever home-made camo cache. Note: the log has deteriorated a little with some damp already inside

3rd of 3 finds on my second day back in town. And what a tough little find it was. Took me around 25 minutes to see something that then lead me to the cache.

[Well Edna was very coy tonight and would not introduce herself. So I was left forlorn like a wallflower at the school dance.] However I think I met her brothers and sisters. I gave Ernie a colonsocopy, Eric a prostate exam, Esme a full gyno, Enid a gastroscopy and Edith an ear nose and throat exam. I could become a vet after what I went through![After 2 visits tonight and 60 minutes, I had to call it quits.]

Found this one with FF this afternoon. We arrived at the GZ at the same time and I walked right over to the area but FF piped me at the post.
Thanks Angel755 for the cache, a nice little hide. I can see how lucky we were to find it so quickly. (MBO, I only sent the message so you would have a point of contact if you got stuck, well mostly that....)

EH, you changed the difficulty & terrain???? (Put it back to 3/3).
OK, with the 3 terrain, I was up several trees - nope - no cache there.
3 difficulty = DASTARDLY difficult to find, Yep, agree with that. Didn't find the little blighter after 30 minutes! (in broad daylight on the way to work).
Tried again on the way home - still no luck, what/where is Edna?????

Try it again tonight in the darkness MBO - we only spent five minutes looking !!!!
OK, I got home, logged my DNF then had a think. And another think.
I recalled what May told me many many years ago, AHA, I thought. I know!
Back I went and found it in a couple of minutes. On the way BM&S SMS'd me they had "found Edna" just to rub it in, but that didn't matter, I knew what & where Edna would be!
Thanks for a clever & cute cache.

Found with Big Matt on the way home from work this evening. Big Matt had the right idea on the cache concealment however I managed to spot the little fellow before him in under a minute. Very clever hide and cute indeed. TNLN and TFTC.
I was sitting at the computer, planning a future caching trip when in came the email for a new cache. Close enough to home to give it a go, so I changed out of my PJ pants [8)] and off we went!
What a fantastic little cache! You guys really set a high standard. It wasn't easy to find in the dark, and we didn't ever find the special tool, but fingernails did the job. This is very clever and very cute. We really liked Edna.
Thanks for the *ftf* and a very well done micro.
