1st stop on 14 day road trip through some of the mid states while visiting from Australia.
Gathered all the required info and all is hopefully all is good.
The 'layer' is somewhere near Lewis and Clark....
Thanks for the reason to stop and check out the area.....and all the earthcaches, not that I could do that many.

Nice earth cache. Thanks to the high school class for the learning experience. Will send a pic of rock formation found. TFTC
DarkO Paycho (me, Odyn and psychovw) from northern Chicagoland embarked on an epic 4 day 10 state road trip to collect new states and find quality caches. This was Day 4 which took us from Lexington, KY back home to Lake County, IL.
What a great location! We liked looking at the river, but it was HOT here today. We walked over from the parking lot and were broiling by the time we got there. We liked the building, and I pointed out it was in layers (I learned that from the cache page). We found some rocks and took some more pics. My rock shows sedimentary layering. I wish we could have spent more time here, but we had a few more caches to do and a long drive back home.
TFTEC!

Team DarkO Paycho (Darth Leviosa, Odyn, and myself) from northern Chicagoland is on the prowl to collect new states, oldest caches, different Earthcache types, webcams, virts, and anything of interest over 4 days. This marks the final day: a 2 state adventure through Kentucky and Indiana in the rental VW Jetta named Trixie.
HOT out. The heat was really getting to me - low on energy. I admired all the drift wood piled up. So much wood just pushed to the side and the river water was no where near the pile. The parking lot felt like fall because of all the cottonwood leaves crunching. I found a layered rock and will post that. TFTEC

Visited this one while on a fantastic 4 day 10 state 2100 mile road trip with Darth Leviosa and psychovw. Our team name for the trip was DarkO Paycho. This was find 22 of 29 for the day. Thank you for the cache.
Found it with Ky. babe. Thanks for all of the info about Geology. The circular upper part of the building seems to represent a crack in the earths crust maybe from an earth quake. TFTH
What an interesting afternoon ! Thanks for all the info. Found with Bill Z TFTH

Third Earthcache completed at the Falls of the Ohio. We located some Sedimentary Layering as we walked along the rivers edge.
Nice Earthcache. Visited the Falls of the Ohio with jsonntag3 (who is sending the email with the answers)before heading home after a long trip. Thank you. 427
Visited The Interpretive Center today. Pictures to follow. What a great park and Interpretive Center. I am giving this one a favorite. Thanks for doing this Earchcache.

One of the last finds for the day. Marauder mom will upload the second photo.
I've toured this center twice before, but didn't get to see everything. Thanks for taking the time to explain all of this to us. Have included a shot of layering, somewhat eroded, near shore.
While on our first visit to this amazing place (have to come back when the water is lower!!!)
Answers sent to CO. TFTEC!

TFTEarth cache, I had a great day exploring the shore of the Ohio river here. I'm here in town from St Louis with my GF for a three day getaway.
Answers will be sent soon.

I am in town visiting friends. I love earthcaches, so I was glad to come here. Thanks.
I have attached a picture of layering.
I have attached a picture of layering.
Due to time /weather conditions, wern't able to do everything we would have liked to but hope the pics are satisfactory. TFTC
This rock outside the center seems to be a nice sample of sedimentary layering; however not as nice as what I was observing down near the flats (read this cache description after I trekked all the way back up). Fossils were everywhere and so fascinating to look at. We did not have time to peruse through the center but will come back on Saturday when we have more time. Sorry my phone is my GPS.

Caching through the area with moodygrrl on our Thanksgiving vacation. Thanks for placing this Earth Cache for us to find and teaching us something in the process. The third picture is an example of "disconformity".
