Cool case!! Easy find it is pretty rusty but the things inside of it are unexpected!
Off for an early morning walk to Edward's Point and back. Started the walk at 7.30 am with an expected sunrise of 7.35. As such, I took the beach track first. The sunrise happened later than expected with the very low cloud cover, but when it did show itself, it was a very deep red. Just beautiful. Then it soon vanished behind more clouds before reappearing well later, higher and yellower. Found all the geocaches and was back to the car at 9.45 am. A total time of 2 hours, 15 minutes with 11 finds, and no DNFs. It was great to find a number of ammo cans in the bush, too. Lovely, enjoyable walk and was very peaceful until the sun was well up and other people started the walk. This geocache took the longest to find, and I never actually saw it in the end. I just kicked it when trying to step over a bush. Certainly no need to go as far into the bush as I went, and really disappointed to find an old metal sign that the council or rangers dumped in the bush, instead of taking out when the new sign was installed. The cut metal poles mean it wasn't just vandals. Thanks for the cache, Dromaniax.Hunter
Exploring around Swan Bay today and picking up some caches along the way. Flies and bugs were a killer walking along the swamplands without any bug spray. The sun also decided to come out and make things abit toasty.Found this cache to be all in good condition. Thanks for the hide for me and others to find!
I've been looking at doing this walk for years but never quite managed to fit it in. Today, I found myself with some spare time in the area and seeing it was such a beautiful day decided to head off. I didn't see anyone along the path the whole time other than a couple of fishing boats as I neared the point. There were hardly any footprints even once I got out onto the sand. Such a beautiful place and I really enjoyed the quietness of the area with only just the birds for company. I'm glad I've finally managed to get out here after all this time. Nice to see a larger cache tucked away at gz. Thanks for the cache.
Father's Day family adventure #4:
An easier one, as the team is beginning to hit its stride. This hide has suffered a little from the geo-traffic, I think.
Number #2 geokid, JRThudd, decided it was his turn to claim something and walked away with one of the small knick knicks. Fortunately, big sis understood the rules, so she chipped in a small foreign coin for the exchange.

Another Father’s Day find. This place was one of my favourite finds during the Covid lockdowns. Strange to think that this cache would’ve been here then too!
TFTC nice easy find. We missed the last one as figured we can get it on the way back. Hopefully it just appears for us on the way back
Have been eyeing off doing this walk for some time and finally have had the chance to do it today. It's a very nice walk and thanks for placing a cache out this way. Geoson found this one and is super excited.
Tftc bushfire. In the little hamlet of St Leonards for a couple of nights with friends. Post lunch cache trip after finding 4 beforehand.
A cool but sunny winter's day when we started out on the bikes, but a squall came over on the jogging leg back from the actual point, got a little damp, but refuge not too far away back at the house meant it didn't really matter.
Quick finds for each of the 4 I searched for, and brand new logs in each.

A nice day to head down to the Bellarine Peninsula. I have my trusty Geotuscon for now. I picked up a couple in Bamganie Forest on the way down an it is now time to take the trip out to Edwards Point in the beautiful Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park (Ramsar Convention listed) area that is Swan Bay. Out with Dromaniax on a maintenance run as CO on behalf of Bushfire.
In case you wonder where all the mosquitos go during winter, it is here, they were thick and constant.
All the caches were found and maintained/replaced/added as we worked our way towards Edwards Point. The area was fascinating as you could see the land area getting smaller that may end up cutting through and making Edwards Point an Island.
Thanks for placing this traditional cache in such a lovely area Bushfire

Out to complete some caches at Edwards Point. Lovely day and lovely scenery.
Thanks for the cache Dromaniax

This seems strange to be logging a cache that I placed on the 18th December 2013 and have visited a few times since. I like this walk because one there is one of the oldest caches in Victoria at the end and also you have to either walk of ride even though the sign tells you not to but I DID NOT SEE THAT.
This series were placed because of the very old cache at the end of this track to find a few as you wander..
Finally, I must thank my good friend Dromaniax for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on due to a serious health problem and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands.
Thanks my friend.

My very dear friend Dromaniax who lives close by went for look at all these caches on Edwards Point early this morning and replaced the Log, placing it in a new ziplock with dessicant. Removed a heap of rubbish that some folk decide to leave in caches.
Big thanks to him so all good for a while.

*Cache find # 11923.*
Today I headed over to Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula with biggles1024 & buhfuhguh for a bit of caching fun and adventure.
I had been wanting to take a stroll along this trail to Edwards Point for some time now but it had never seemed like the right time when I had been over this way previously as we always had other plans but today we were able to make time to take the walk, it was certainly a great day for it.
Once we were at GZ, it was long before the cache was found, log signed and we were on our way to the next.
**Thanks to Bushfire for placing this cache.**

**Traditional Find #2987**
I headed out with Steve and Michael to the Bellarine Peninsula to target some of Victoria's 500 oldest caches and a few other caches of interest.
The weather was perfect all day and we covered quite a bit of ground on foot and driving. Some progress was made on a long term Wherigo too.

Out caching this lovely sunny day out cleaning up the Geeling area a bit with Biggles and Stemicmitsar. Searching for the usual hit caches and other odds and ends along the way
Thanks for the cache and being part of a good day out today.

At this stage, it was an easy stroll through the scrub. We did get a little more tired as time went on, but a great walk.
Off on another day caching around the Bellarine Peninsula with our good mate Rebel Acts.
A mixture of trails and other caches. The trails here are a bit of a treat as rather than the preform tubes or similar containers we have generally experienced in the past, most containers are of good size and often are a bit of a feature of the theme in the cache name.
We were racing the weather a bit trying to get in as much as possible before rain set in, but still had to battle showers. Lucky we were prepared.
All in all, another great day caching.
All logs signed with RASP (Rebel Acts, SKI Pair).

The second day in lockdown and only allowed out to exercise. We have been eyeing off the caches out to Edwards Point for a while, checked to see if they were in our 5km radius and they were, so off we went. It was reasonably cool today, and the breeze was light making it perfect weather for a long walk. This was indeed an easy stroll and another well-hidden cache, considering we are in lockdown there are quite a lot of muggles around, walking and cycling. The walk is beautiful and the Moonahs are superb. Thank you, Bushfire for this cache.
This one didn't take us as long to find thankfully. Also glad we sprayed ourselves as the aerogard was missing! Hoodedhooligans (H.H.) 26 December 2020 8:59 pm #401
Nearly got muggled hardcore by a woman and her dog. Dropped the cache and moved off in a hurry. Got funny looks but I returned the cache to it's hiding spot when the muggles disappeared. Don't THINK they noticed.
Love these containers. Great day for this adventure. Spoky dokey trail continues...
Last find for the day, we had to wait because there were some muggles coming the other way a very bold hiding spot. TFTC
We were staying at our friends place in Portarlington and he suggested we go for a walk so that lead us to this area.
I nearly tripped over this cache without realising it was there, anyway signed the log and continued our walk. TFTC

No Aerogard though!
Great area for caching. Didn’t have time for the final one unfortunately. TFTC!

Was a easy stroll. But the small people started complaining about here. Tftc! And happy new year.
Left home early this morning to beat the heat. Arrived at the parking spot only to find I'd left my GPS and scribble stick at home.
Oh well let's hope there are pens and the trusty iPhone is accurate enough
Found the cache easily thank goodness.

Took me a while to figure out how to get off the beach and onto the track, but once I sorted it out, all was well!
On a visit to my parents in law we went for a walk and found a few caches. My kids used to stay at their grandparents on bluff rd every holidays while my husband and I worked. They used to ride along this track all the time. lots of mozzies bring your bushmans. TFTC
Caching through this area, it was nice to give the phone to the kids and allow them to lead us down this track. Never been to this arm of the Peninsula before so we were feeling grateful for the chance to explore.
Simply perfect afternoon. Couldn't have asked for better. One of the younger geocachers made the find of the 'counter' just near the boardwalk. Before we knew it there had been a turnover of about 100 people!

With my goal today to reach cache # 2000 at Edwards Point it was great that these caches along this path were a nice lead in to it. Just managed to get this one hidden again before two muggle walkers appeared around the corner. A query though, this cache is listed as a regular but isn't it the same size as the previous one listed as a large? Anyway, every cache is a winner, cheers Bushfire!
Despite swimming only a few minutes ago the sun is too intense and we will have to come back again in cooler weather for the rest. Many thanks for the cache Bushfire
Set off on the walk to Two Bay Lookout at about 10:30am. Weather cooler than expected & wind had little strength to it. A perfect day for a walk & of course some hunting. Decided to return to the car via the inland track & hunt for these other caches.
Such a beautiful day to be taking this walk! Kids are entertained by the caches and aren’t realising how far they are actually walking. Tftc
Thanks to the long weekend back home, I was able to pop over the ditch for the mega and a ‘few’ caches along the way! I was really after the numbers on this trip, planning to achieve 50+ each of the three days for a challenge – something that is getting much more difficult back home! The weather was great and I had a ball thanks to all the CO’s placing great caches!
Today’s aim was to find some more along power trails and trailets, and a few interesting others. I am so grateful for the variety in the trails! And what a nice place to go for a walk in the afternoon! TFTC!!

With a Saturday free for a change I was keen to get out and find a cache or three but didn't want to go too far afield. So after studying the map for a little bit I finally decided on a walk out to Edward's point with the weather being nice. A message to Neville_devil and of course he was in. Knowing Ausfox; had already done these I didn't expect he was keen on coming but there was a couple of caches on the trail that had appeared since he was here last so he was in too .
When we were getting close to GZ Neville_devil had raced ahead a little as I was fixing my shoe laces, so when we rounded the corner he had already found the cache and had a silly little grin on his face. I think he was trying to make up for being totally of track on the hunt.
Thank you Bushfire for your work in setting this series up

Find #3693. Found @ 12:03 with The Good Lady Wife.
We're in Portarlington on a getaway, and getting in some caching is a part of that plan. Today's plan was walking out to Edwards Point, lunch in Queenscliff, and knocking off some more of the D2B trail.
Once again, my phone GPSr brought us to the correct area and my geosenses zeroed in on the hide.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache Bushfire

Caching around the Bellarine today, prior to attending the Bushfire Big Birthday Bash.
It was proving to be an easy stroll, And very quiet too, we haven't seen any other walkers. The clouds are looking a bit ominous however.
The cache was in good condition.

Third cache of the day. The GPS had me on the other side of the track but I spotted a likely location not far away that turned out to be the right place. TFTC.
With the sun shining I set off for the north eastern parts of the Bellarine Peninsula. It's been more than three years since I cached between St Leonards and Portarlington, so I had quite some catching up to do. Starting off early in the morning walking around Edwards Point Reserve with gloriously bright blue skies I continued into the afternoon, by which time the skies had darkened and brought with them cold downpours. I kept caching in the hard rain thinking the adverse weather conditions keeping muggles away would mean easier caching, but by the 10th DNF of the day (a new record for me [B)]) I headed back home. Despite the miserable afternoon it was still a worthwhile day's outing where I explored some new places .
Picked this one up while heading back from the Point. It was indeed a surprisingly easy stroll. A great boardwalk out here.
Thanks Bushfire.

Decided to come this way as the bullrushes were the height of geokid 7 and looked like they were like that for a while. Quick find and TFTC
Team Autumn out today for some school holiday fun. Today was a cool windy day and we only got a bit wet from a passing shower. We had to wander up to read the nearby sign to let the muggles pass us enough so we could pop back to find the cache. Found by geokid one. TFTFC.
Overcast 2 day, Sunday. Great time for a wander through the Bellarine Peninsula.
Needing to pick up a few quick finds on our way to 500.
