Found with catnap777 on our great escape from her post-op cabin fever. We packed up as many pillows into the car as we could and went for a drive to try out the new knee. Despite an upset tummy thrown into the mix, we did pretty well with short walks and P&Gs picking up a couple of trads and a few from our solved mysteries pile including this one. Great hiding spot.So fun. All in perfect condition. TFTC Marto_1600 & Romax. Cache and contents in very good condition. [^]
Puzzle solved with the assistance of CV. Cache found with dalerious . These were the 3 puzzles we struggled with for way too long. We take pride in trying our utmost to solve all puzzles mostly by our own means, and at the very least, with a few hints from previous finders . It never ceases to amaze us how many different ways in which you can create wonderful puzzles.Thank you Marto_1600 and Romax. We had this little jaunt across to Bendigo as a trial "run", so to speak, to gauge how I would cope with travelling in a car 10 days post op from Knee Replacement surgery.I had spent all week at home once I had escaped from hospital, keeping myself occupied with keeping up physio exercises, (modern day medieval torture) and getting things done around the house that I normally wouldn't have time to do. Resting was slotted in there somewhere, but I was tired of all that, and needed to get out in the glorious weather before things start getting too hot. Plenty of time to rest indoors once the temperature starts to rise.We packed enough pillows to make the journey bearable . It sure was good to get out in the fresh air, and the day didn't get too hot, which was perfect. We had a very enjoyable day, apart from a few strange hiccups along the way. Namely a mild case of food poisoning and a chipped filling. I sure am going through the wars lately. Life can be a Challenge cache with a D5/T5 rating as well, it seems .
Nothing like signing a log book that’s gonna last a 1000 years. Interesting puzzle that took me a little while to figure out what was required and solved this morning knowing we were coming down this way. Thanks
After 12 days away camping the trip has unfortunately come to an end. After attending the dawn service in Castlemaine, it was back to camp for a few extra zzzz’s before packing up and heading home. Not before stopping for a few caches of course!
This was our first stop for the day. OzHockeyChick had already made this find a few years ago so it was just me to sign this one. A relatively quick find once an appropriate parking spot was found.
Thanks Marto_1600 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Poor reception here so i cant remember what the challenge was to find this one. But the area is nice and the large cache cool, thanks
We only had time to find a couple of caches on our journey to Avoca to attend an event this evening.
Muggle Hubby did the extraction of the cache here.
Thanks for a good sized cache, these are becoming rare.
Then we took the time to drive right up to the towers.
What a view from up there!
Thanks for showing us - another sight we would never have seen were it not for geocaching.

TFTC. We have largely left Harcourt alone from a caching perspective. When we come though we are generally in a hurry to get home to Maryborough. Today we decided to rectify a blue face in Taradale and then spend some time caching in the area around Harcourt. WE had had this one solved for a little while and now was a good time to make the find
Out for the afternoon with Team Clarmensma (myself, GemmaSistema, boo09, neisha07, Ad & Luke) to target some Harcout & surrounds caches.
Always nice to find a solved icon from years prior. We weren't sure what to expect here given that Romax's name was attached but a nice quick find. TFTC

An afternoon of caching with becca85, my kids (AdamSistema and LukeSistema) and her kids (neisha07 and boo09) saw TeamClarmensma form for some caching fun and adventure. This one was solved ages ago and I happened to be in the area today so couldn’t resist. A quick find here and the kids played on the rocks. Thanks for the cache.
Day 7 of our epic trek to the St Arnaud Mega via Geelong. As you do.
The constant was my travel companion for the entire trip, - Anymules. but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades
With the Mega finishing yesterday we continued caching around our base of Bendigo. Today we joined up with muff1 and au.fait for some adventures. Disaster struck early when my GPS touchscreen decided to freeze and it became useless. I tried learning a phone app on the go but in the end resorted to the old pen and notebook.
A puzzle solved before we headed over. [^] All that was left was to go and find the cache which we did.
**Thanks Marto_1600 for this cache. **

A plan was hatched last evening so early this morning I set off with muff1, also accompanied by brisal5, AnyMules and locus cache on an adventure to Lake Eppalock. That part of the adventure successfully completed we continued caching with the next area on Mt Alexander Stopped here to sign this one as we went by TFTC

I like this kind of puzzle! More specifically, a puzzle that I can solve that isn't that hard but that still makes me feel chuffed for having done so.
The kids and I wandered up from the car to make the find although I was the only one who could actually reach.
Cheers Marto_1600 & Romax, thanks for the fun.

A Lazy Saturday driving around the country side collecting smileys.
Well I have never been over to Mt Alexander so what better way to see it (despite a bit of fog at the main lookout)
Ive had this one solved for some time now, don't know how though. but boy was I glad the cache was in the first place I looked.

Ozhockeychic had solved this one before we came for a quick visit to Castlemaine. so today it was a quick find, in a nice location. TFTC
Out with fayemous65 and the munchkin. A nice simple puzzle (for a change). We let the munchkin navigate from the car, and the co-ords were spot on.

Today I set out on a massive mission to get as many GeosportZ points in the GCA Olympics Challenge as possible as well as attending (Hosting) the Geocaching Melbourne 3 Months to the Mega event in St Arnaud and driving the ~300k's back home. Luckily I was joined by one of my Co-Hosts in LouiseAnn to make the day more fun The weather was looking OK until we mentioned it and then we got some rain, but not so much that we couldnt go caching
One of the last caches before the big drive back towards home. Wow, was great to see one of these containers. My personal Fave. From this point the drive became a little scary with a pea soup fog rolling in and could hardly see 10m in front of us for most of the drive. A favourite point for the location.

I had solved this cache way back in 2012, and today it prooved handy, as not only was it on the way home, but we would be able to use it for GeoportZ as out entry for Tennis!! We picked this cache up at 9:39pm.
ahomburg and I were headed to St. Arnaud for the 3 months to the Surf Coast Event. We started out bright and early and cached until midnight, but which point, I was pretty broken. We had a great day!! Not heaps of caches, but all for the cause of our GeosportZ claims. I completed 7 events for the day, and ahomburg a few more.
Thanks for the cache Marto_1600.

I solved this puzzle some time ago and this evening I thought I'd head south after work to grab this and a couple of others on Mt. Alexander. Quick find in a great location - thanks for the puzzle and the cache Marto_1600!

Thanks mart 1600 for a nice solvable puzzle. We made our way to GZ tonight under the cover of darkness where we made the find by torchlight.
ST37E, McLookers, The Tritonz and ourselves had set ourselves the challenge of completing GC5NTHY - Mystery Cache Monthly Challenge all on the 1st of May. We have collectively been working towards solving the mysteries for this challenge for some weeks. There were many phone calls and late nights solving puzzles for today. We started before the sun rose in Ballarat, moved on to Bendigo and then back into Melbourne where we signed the challenge. We arrive home in Ballarat just after midnight! It was a long but very enjoyable day.

Our challenge today was to complete GC5NTHY - Mystery Cache Monthly Challenge. Collectively over the past while, The Tritonz, ST37E, Glanville Girls and ourselves have worked together. Our travels started in Ballarat when it was dark, continued on to Bendigo, onto Melbourne for the final and then back to Ballarat. We finished in the dark!!

After at least 6 weeks preparation of puzzle solving between Glanville Girls, McLookers, ST37E and ourselves we set off before dawn today to meet a personal challenge of finding and signing 31 puzzles in a day qualifying us for GC5MTHY -Mystery cache monthly.
Starting in Ballarat we soon were heading Bendigo bound to continue our Mystery spree through 3 major cities. As luck would have it the weather was kind to us bringing us blue skies and sunshine making for a perfect, if not exhausting day.

We have had this puzzle in the "solved but to find" pile for a while, just waiting for a perfect Autumn day that we had off together, to enable us to make a day trip to Castlemaine. Loved the final cache and location. Thank you for the fun of the puzzle and for bringing us here.
My GPS was almost done for the day, but alas it held on until I found this cache. Great views on the drive up to GZ. TFTC
It was a perfect sunny day for the hunt. We had to fend off a few rabid drop bears but luckily we brought a survival tube of vegemite to cover our tracks.. found with Bripoi, thanks for the fun
Have had this one 'on the books' for some time. Having pretty much exhausted all the local 'Maine caches we are finding it necessary to go further afield for our weekend finds. Great spot and coords led us to a good size container with great swaps. The kids took a watch and a toy soldier, while Mamma Mainebird and I took the trackable bear to continue its journey. Thanks for this puzzle and hide!
Found with Bogonghazy on our long weekend assault of Castlemaine and surrounds after solving the puzzle. Perfect co-ords had me standing right on the money. Cache is in A1 condition. Full of great swaps (also in perfect condition), reminded me of my earlier days of caching. My thanks to Marto-1600 and Romax for the great cache.
Sully and I had had this solved prior to our visit up this way, so we were keen to cross this one off.
Perfect coords and a nice sized container put extra smiles on our dials.
Thanks Marto 1600 and Romax

We left Geelong at 06.30 to head up to Bendigo stopping at Ballan for breakfast. The aim for today way to grab any mysteries that had been solved that we could but if passing any Traditionals they would be included and at 01.00 we would attend the Flash Mob in the Bendigo Mall.
Also late last night Phetlern phoned me while I was out for dinner would we be interested to have a look at ‘Above and beyond “series which includes a 5x5 cache.
Burning the midnight oil all were printed just in case we decided to go down this path.
The first on the list today was Diggers Tales and then we had a could not locate and another that the XR6 refused to attempt but all systems go at this cache.
Quickly located, signed and then morning tea and some yummy cakes which we had picked up at maccas earlier.

Suscoe was out and about today for a country jaunt to the bendigo area for some caching fun and attendance at the Flash Mob in Bendigo. We had Bushfire keeping us company and working with us to deal with a number of mysteries and traditionals along the way. It was a great day out, most enjoyable but at times a little hot for our liking.
This was find number two of what turned out to be 25 finds along the way, most expected but a couple which were a bit of a surprise but loads of fun.
We approached GZ on foot and soon the cache was located by Bishfire, in great condition.
signed and all done. TNLN.

Time for morning tea back at the car, a nice shady spot and now atleast we have 2 finds, a DNF and a did not reach GZ.

Tag-along and I were heading home from a week end in Bendigo and as I had solved this one a while ago a detour was in order. we were guessng just where we would end up as we travelled along the road.
We over ran the spot. I jumped out and as T turned the car around I located the cache. It was a great cache very well presented at the Rocky Mount. I happily signed the great log book and jumped back in the car to look for one last puzzle cache for the week end.
A fav.

We knew the general location of GZ as we were not able to hide a cache here due to the close proximity of your puzzle cache.
Today the puzzle became clear and Mrs Whit solved it straight up (not sure that will ever happen again though).

We worked out part of the puzzle with confidence by using the codes. The last 3 digits we were not so certain about. We used a bit of logic, knowledge of the area from orienteering and a lot of luck to find the cache. The plan was to use trial and error when we were in the vicinity. Turned out that our calculations were only out by 9. Thanks Marto 1600. Great to solve a puzzle and find GZ.
25/02/12 12:07 PM Find #769 A good find with Square Pegs as we made our way around Bendigo on the way to the Flash Mob Event. TFTC.
We stopped by today on our way to attend the Flashmob event in Bendigo. This was a lovely spot, and I was amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was here, given elsewhere on the trip it was so windy on this hot day. Thanks for the cache.
I had solved the puzzle a couple of years ago, but hadn't got around to checking to see if I had the right answer. I didn't start too well today, as I entered an incorrect number in the GPSr, and found myself in a very reasonable, but completely wrong location.
I got back to the car and realised my mistake. From there it was a very quick find!
Thanks, Robmc.

Found on the way to retreive my secret santa gift from nearby.
I was surprised at how quickly I had solved this puzzle!
Usually I struggle trying to nut them out and a hint needs to be supplied to get me going again.
Nice hide too.
I stopped for a bite to eat nearby under some trees, before I made the 100m walk from where I'd parked in the shade.

2nd find of the day, and 3049th total find at 10:39:00 AM.
We came up here today after receiving a message from Santa. After collecting our "gift" we thoroughly enjoyed the views that could be had from some of the scenic heights here, before threading our way down to the cache.
We had solved this quite some time ago (somewhat unusual for us), and we were just waiting for an opportunity to return to the area.
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver

Solved it a week or so ago, now the time to get here.. Little one wanted to go for a drive for a tainer.. I know.. Love exploring this Mountain. Great spot, little chilly but all good times. Thanks.
I had solved this a while back and today was the day. There seemed to be an obvious spot at GZ and so it proved to be. Took the Geocoin for a trip.
As we have been doing the last few week, we were out orienteering, once finished my son asked "are there any caches near here?" so I turned on the GPS and told him that the closest was just over two KM's away.
To my surprise, a few minutes later the kids were back looking for a pen to log the cached they just found. They had stumbled across this one without doing the puzzle and without a GPS.
So we have logged our find, now might have to have an attempt at working out the puzzle.

Sitting home recovering from my hip operation and trying to solve puzzle caches we decided that we are still not very good at them, some like this one make sense and are nice and easy. Today was the first opportunity we have had to check out the location. Having completed Romax's Ring for a Number we were not sure what to expect as we approached gz. Even after locating the container we were still waiting for something but no, it turned out to be the easiest Romax cache we have done located in a fantastic area. The sun even shone for us as we walked to and from the cache, not something we had seen a lot of today
Thanks Romax, we really enjoyed the cache and the location

I have Karen to thank for solving this puzzle. We made our way to gz and were welcomed by a pleasant drive and a great view also waiting for us was a well sized cache we signed the logged but made no swap Thankyou for the cache
Found at 3.05pm GAFF1 on our "Fix the Coromal and keep going" weekend. We set up camp at Mt Franklin, had lunch and then headed off north to find 5 caches before the rest of the group arrived for what was to be a fantastic weekend.
After pondering about the shuffling part of the instructions, the co-ords suddenly materialised. The cache was a drive-by and as a bonus we then found where Butterfly Ridge was located - a great winery that we discovered a few years ago.
Thanks Marto_1600 & Romax.

A lovely area for a cache, my calculations were approx 20m out, not sure how that happened, but an email clarified things,
Evince co-ord checking would be handy with puzzle caches like these
The sun was shining and birds singing as we had a morning cuppa near GZ,
Perfect really!!
Thanks

Had a bit of a puzzle thing a little while back and solved a few, but I'm only just getting round to chasing them up. I really like this area and know it quite well, having walked, climbed, cycled and orienteered all over it throughout the years. I enjoyed the puzzle and had an easy find on arrival at GZ. There was a beautiful little gecko sitting on the cache when I uncovered it. No swaps made. Many thanks for an enjoyable caching experience.
Found by Bevfre 3.00pm Had to get help with the code Thanks TN LN SL Thank you Marto
In the area today doing some maintenance at a nearby cache gave us the opportunity to remove this cache from our “yet to be found listâ€!
There are still many opportunities for more geo hides on this interesting accumulation of granite and we look forward to that occurrence!

Continuing my tour of the area today, I made my way back to Mount Alexander where I've found a few caches in the past. I enjoyed nutting out this very simple but clever puzzle and was glad to find the cache at the coordinates I calculated. It was also great to see an ammo can used.
The rain stopped enough for me to log the find and return it. As I was returning to my car another group of people arrived although I don't think they were cachers. I was happy with my timing though!
Cheers,

I watched with interest when these two new caches were published and today we had to go to Kyneton for some wine so we proceeded on.
I really love the area where the cache is hidden and on this wonderful cool morning this cache became puzzle find number 399.
Thanks Marto and Romax

I was accompanying feathertop this morning and while in the Malmsbury bakery today he presented the puzzle to me and handed over a pen and a rudimentary clue and I soon had the puzzle solved.
A great drive this morning with two caches found.
Thanks Marto_1600 and Romax too.

Lady Morris had solved the puzzle the evening it was published and google earth had showed it to be a likely location. Unfortunately we were unable to make it out here until today. Mr Morris headed straight to the hiding spot and the extraction proved to be the trick part. A nice hiding spot and lots of swaps. Left three coins. TFTC

FTF _ found it on the third go! Don't normally go in for these type of caches and now we know why! We worked through the puzzle and came up with a set of co-ordinates and Mr P checked out the location not once but twice!! Coming back from Melbourne Mrs P checked the calculations and what do you know - one little error put Mr P 1.54k off the mark.
A very nifty puzzle for a very nice hide, and very nice FTF prize.
