Out cache for the day with KabbellaQld and Danielle 46 signed as KTD thanks to KabbellaQld for solving the puzzle quick find once on site
Day tripping with ToucanKB and Danielle46, signing logs as KTD. A good spot for a dead letter office as there were picnic tables overlooking the water. Much better than the dreary basements that movies often portray dead letter offices as. I solved this puzzle before travelling and was pleased that it was a quick find on site. Thanks for the puzzle and cache placement.
Found at 1:08 PM GAFF1.We had lunch here under the picnic shelter - a marvellous spot amongst the bird poo all over the table and seat However we got past that and enjoyed the scenery and the sound of the birds and the crunching sound of the tractor in the tip picking up rubbish!Started looking at the wrong level for a while and then realised that there was a more interesting second level Nice puzzle btw which we twigged to nearly straight away - that's why it was nice Thanks to Avagomob
Thanks for arranging this cache which we found. Now time to get back to the caravan and head to Rockhampton.
Cracked the code and navigated my way to The Dead Letter Office cache! The puzzle led me through a fascinating journey of addresses and locations across Australia. It's impressive how this cache integrates the theme of communication mishaps. The cache itself, a small Systema container, was cleverly hidden in the local park.Solving the puzzle added an extra layer of satisfaction to the find. Thanks to the cache owner for this intriguing and well-thought-out geocaching experience!Happy Geocaching!
Found with Dora the Explorer! Was not sure if we would find this as there was no checker, we were not 100% confident with the coordinates calculated. As it turned out, they were spot on. Thanks for this cache.
Puzzle solved before leaving home so it was a nice park and grab in a quiet location.
Lots of fruit bats in the mangroves behind making a racket as we approached.
Stayed in Gladstone before heading out to Curtis Island as part of our 'north for warmer weather' trip (North East Vic to Central Qld).
Thanks to all COs who have provided caches along the way.

A weekend trip up to Gladstone and Calliope saw me having some quiet time on an 800-acre property. We got in some 4wd, some walking on some extreme hill climbs, campfire at night and then a few caches as well. It can be hard work trying to convince some people how much fun you have doing this activity, especially if they are not fully open and listening, lol.
With a little down time and a little time for caching I was happy to get in a few older caches and a couple of puzzle caches. This one was a nice find, a nice easy puzzle for me for a change.
I signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the hide and bringing me to this area.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 124. Gladstone Day 1. I spent the day caching in the Gladstone region, first I headed down to Tannum Sands, then I looped back into Gladstone via another road and did some suburban caches before heading into the port and marina fore shore area to finish my day off.
I had a look at a few local puzzles but this was the only one I managed to find an answer for. part from one error in the clues, I had a viable set of numbers, so today I stopped by for a look. It was a bit further from my GZ than I expected, but in the end the hide location was very cache friendly, if not finding friendly.
Thanks for the cache Avagomob

Day 2 of our Mega road trip. LDavs was awake early so while the house was sleeping, she snuck out to do some caching.
I didn’t succeed at a cache nearby so came here to redeem myself. With no one around the morning, the area was nice and quiet. Didn’t take long to spot the cache, in good condition. Tftc

After the rapidly spreading Covid outbreak forced us to cancel our plans to attend the Wangaratta mega, a decision was made to stay in Qld and head North on a road trip instead.
Didn't take long to locate the container in a nice quiet area.

Took a bit of hunting as coordinates were sending us to an obviously not quite right spot. But eventually using a bit of geo logic we had the cache in hand.
Found as I meander my way from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
The puzzle was one of many solved prior to leaving home in preparation for my trip. Although my itinerary when I travel is generally very fluid, I do like to have a menu of pre-solved puzzles that I can target along the way.
This was a quick find at a deserted GZ early this morning.
Thanks Avagomob for the puzzle and the cache.

I knew I was coming to Gladstone to get some oldies on the way to Emerald. Puzzle was fun and one I could easily do, so I was keen to get this one while in town.
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that i can claim the finds or not as the case may be. TFTC.

Grey nomads travelling around Australia in our caravan. 2020 done and dusted, 2021 here we come
Our Rocky farm sit now over, we still have time to spend in the area for another month or so, so we have moved on to Gladstone. Had to drive to Calliope for the dump point (there are none in Gladstone) so targeted a few caches on the way. This was one.
Sorting this puzzle was the easy part, getting to the location that was easy, then poking around with a stick found us with a cache in hand. Thanks Avagomob

Day 3 of a long weekend adventure in Gladstone Region, along with Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo and Fangsoki. Mostly targeting older caches, and whatever else popped up on our radar. The day was barely dawned, and first coffee was still being sipped and we were on the road already. Our first stop was in this lovely area, and avoiding a book-reading muggle (at this hour?) we made a quick find. No issues sorting the puzzle for this one either.
Thanks Avagomob for entertaining me at this location.

Sunday morning, Gladstone long weekend trip, and we had no intention of delaying our day. Getting stuck right in early, we headed to this cache, the first of the morning while all apart from the birds were quiet. The puzzle had been an easy solve, and at GZ the cache find was no particular challenge either, as long as we didn’t attract too much attention from a muggle reading her book not too far away. Crazy lady out here at this time of morning on a Sunday, reading!
Thanks for the cache Avagomob.

A long weekend caching trip to Gladstone had been planned with 1MinnieMoo, Pprime and Fangsoki and a list of target caches had been prepared.
Sunday morning saw us up for an early start on a full day of caching. his was the first one on the list for the day We had all solved the puzzle at different times. A muggle was sitting at the table but didn't stir while we searched. The cache was quickly recovered and then we were off again

Caching with Silverspirit1310. Silverspirit1310 for the find - I was well off target! We solved this before we came to Gladstone. Haven't done too many today - but that just means there will be plenty for next time!
TFTC,
Our first of 10 for the day as we start our list of finds for this amazing city.
Finding the standard of caches here is very high compared to where we come from, not a bad thing.
Worked this one out a few days ago when we had access to the NoteBook.
GPS took us to the wrong location and after a correction, we soon had CIH.

Have not been to Gladstone for years. A nice drive in off highway from Rockhampton. Did not know if I had solved this correct but apparently I had as I found the cache right where I was looking. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Avagomob. All good with this cache and puzzle.
I looked at this puzzle last night and soon realised what I needed to do. Coordinates showed a likely place. A short search and the cache was spotted. Log signed and cache returned to its hidey hole all safe and sound. Thanks for the puzzle and cache.
We figured that there wouldn't be many muggles out today (it's Christmas) so took the opportunity to get a cache. Solved the puzzle after a food-induced nap, which was an enjoyable one that we understood quickly. TFTC

Not too tricky for someone with such bad handwriting,
that many a letter comes back !!
Or maybe disappears into the DLO !!
The calculated delivery address took me to a delightful parkland,
well hidden from the tourists and skool holiday crowds
But for some reason,
there were a couple of blokes launching a huge, twin hulled boat into the lake.
What on water were they up too ??
A boat that big didn't seem to belong on a waterway this small
Anyway,
well out of sight of the muggles,
the cache was a quick find at the calculated address [^]
TFTC .... fave dance time for this one.

This was a fun little puzzle cache. I was very happy when i got to this area that my coordinates were spot on. I have lived in gladstone for 5 years and never knew that this park existed. Thanks for showing us this little park. TFTC

I don't care what anyone says, the dump is always a magical place. Even on holiday, I tried to wind down my window to get a good whiff of juicy goodness. I really believe in the old adage, that one mans treasure is another man's sh!t.
We parked and climbed up over the small hill before finding the cache and stamping the log. Right next to the car were two recycle items. Along with the find we earnt 20 cents. Man, caching is going to make me rich one day. tftc

TFTC. We had camped at Calliope River on the way to QCOM. As we were running early we stayed the day and used geocaching to do a bit of exploring around Gladstone. A great couple of hours some no finds but we were not searching to hard when muggles were about.
Nice easy puzzle and a quick simple find. Just the way we like them.

Today, Skip and I found the dead letter office. He was less enthused than I was, been a dog and all, but he enjoyed the walk to the cache, and we eyed off another one nearby that will have to wait for another day. TFTC Avagomob
Having this one solved in preparation for our visit to the area, we had to make sure we made the effort to find this one. We arrived at GZ to find a fellow enjoying his morning coffee at the nearby table. We sat and pondered for a bit and then Mr Parko started the search very quietly with no success. Mrs Parko stepped in and gingerly grabbed the cache all the while old mate didn't move a muscle. Was quite funny how stealthy you can be when needed. Great puzzle and cache. Thanks Avagomob

What a great little puzzle. To be honest I had less trouble solving the puzzle than I did in locating the cache. A typically Australian combination of dancing device and millions of midgees. Eventually I put the device in my pocket and concentrated on doing the dancing myself -to distract the midgees, (If they are laughing really hard they wont be able to bite was my theory.) while simultaneously searching for the cache. Cache found and log signed in a big hurry. All is well here. Picked up the trackable to take on adventures a bit further north. Thanks heaps for this cache and puzzle.

A geocaching roadtrip is an amazing thing. It takes lots of preparing, planning and pre puzzling to ensure time on the road is maximised. I have to say I exhibited none of these attributes as we readied ourselved for this roadtrip. I was fortunately joined by the energizer bunny (seffnjarah) and the Square Jawed Mountain Man (Crookedpete) who both like to prove how capable they are as the alpha males of the Bromance. While there is often much chest beating and tantrums, we manage to remain positive and end up with a good plan of attack.
We set off on Friday lunch time (so CP had time to make himself pretty) and returned late Sunday nigh, traveling some 2000klms, approx 70 caches of varying D/T Ratings, in just on 54 hours. Sadly there were a few DNF's (which some of the team took harder than others), but we saw many different cache styes, and some amazing places. Thanks to all the CO's who placed these caches for us to find.

It has been far too long since Seffnjarah, Swellerfungus and I did stupid things a long way from home. So, a caching road trip from Brisbane to Rocky & Yeppoon and a few ports (and mountains) in between was planned. The well planned though overly optimistic caching itinerary included miscellaneous mind bending puzzles, half a dozen or so of Queensland's Oldest caches including this one, a few wee hill climbs including this one, a healthy selection of unloved caches and any other interesting caches in between.
Day 2 of the trip and having all solved this one in advance, we stopped off for the quick find and to contemplate a swim for a higher DT cache just "over there"
Thanks Avagomob

It's been 2 years since the Bromance undertook a geocaching road trip, the last being down to Gloucester NSW back in March 2015. With the blessings of our respective spouses received (mine seemed rather keen to get rid of me for the weekend) we headed off from Brisbane Friday lunchtime for a whirlwind trip to Yeppoon and back with a lengthy target list of caches. After finally finishing our first day of caching and setting up camp at 1.30am this morning, a 5.30am wake up call had us packed up and on the road agin for more caches including this one. With no one else around this was a simple find for the three of us. After signing the logbook we contemplated a swim across to another cache but unfortunately time was against us. TFTC
Found on my drive south today, logging a few caches along the road.
After checking in at my hotel I went for a caching tour of Gladstone

Bonza! A nice easy puzzle quickly solved. And a quick find at GZ in the second place I looked. The log has been stewing in a wet soggy sealed plastic bag. So I have left the log out of the plastic bag, hopefully it will dry out a bit. Thanks for the puzzle and TFTC!

All nice and quiet in the area this afternoon which was handy. I parked nearby and headed in to GZ, where the container was located after a brief search... I took a seat near the hiding spot to conduct business, but as I pulled the log out and it was dripping with water, that was going to be a little difficult...
I peeled the paged back and gently etched my name, but the log was very wet and I could only just leave ink on the paper. I did my best and then tucked the container back. It could use a good dry out or a fresh new log and bag though.
Thanks for another puzzle, I do enjoy them over any other cache...
Cheers Avagomob.

We had the correct co-ords and a page of numbers but blowed if we could figure out how we got them some months ago in Tassie. Shows how old we're getting!! Anyway, very clever cache. Thanks. TN left a soldier.
We asked Avagomob about this puzzle at their place during the lunch break because we didn't understand it, so Mrs Avagomob got up and went to get a telephone book for us which we got an idea and worked out the coordinates then Mr Avagomob checked, yes it was correct Both of us spotted the obvious hide, nice park, good spot for our dog to have a run with his ball before going back to our caravan. Thanks Avagomob.
Did a maintenance check today. Grabbed the TB as it has been stuck here for ages.
Well, we believe we had the right coords, but an UBER-thick mat of pine needles and debris thwarted our search for this cache today. Gives us an excuse to come back to Gladstone one day, though.
Oops. Couldn't find this one. I probably got the co-ords wrong but is was a nice place to visit just the same.
