Time for this one to go, It had been replaced once and survived the latest floods, the mouse had closed its door with mud/silt, time for this one to RIP. Any one else want to place one in this park?
Quite a nice park really - not at all the swamp we were expecting. Plenty of ducks, and a few pukekos too. Found the cache after an enjoyable walk around the pond. Thanks.

great little hide in a nice park pity the lake is still the weedy sess-pit that i remember from walking around here as a child.
TNLN SL thanks for the cool cache!!!

Neat park, Nice easy find as the mouse didnt want the cache in his house. have replaced in house. TFTC.
Didn't see the mouse or his house until we sat down under the tree in dispair cause we couldn't spot it !!
Will get the hang of this soon only second day geo caching

Admittedly, I have "thing" about feeding the ducks. Glad I got to do it a bit here, too. The day was perfect--I could have sprawled on the grass all day after finding this wee cache, but there were more caches to find! Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache!
Easy find, and another chance for JDSavannah to take delight feeding the ducks. May she should start a series of duck-feeding caches? TFTC.
What a lovely park.Found the cache with Zebedy and Cheeky girl.Enjoyed a walk round the swamp and wished we had brought some bread to feed the ducks.TFTC

Nice wee hide... our first find of the day after a very late start, wonder why. The swamp was full of birdlife.

Nice easy find, too easy - had to hide mouse better as was out & about! TFTC Cheers Muzy Man!
easy find-was out side sunbathing when we arrived with the muzyman clan cheers jumboz
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 568. Thanks.
Certainly a swamp today! The mouse was out of the house when we came a serching, but now safely returned to it's home. TFTC
Found this one easily as it was trying to escape! A childhood friend used to live here, I remember vicious black swans called Jack and Jill! TFTC!
2nd find for the day. No muggles around. A short search and an easy find for for mini jsigleys
Fortunately the little beastie was quickly found, as the forecast rain became more serious. TFTC
Our last cache for a quick lap around Whakatane. Mr nalawod passed through this reserve on his morning run, but didn't have the cache info to hunt it out. The ground was a bit wet after several cm of rain but what a great place if your house were to back onto this lovely reserve. Judging by the lack of pathways I suspect it is not as used as it could be, which is a shame as it is a lovely spot to pass through and visit the wildlife.
Netty and I attempted this cache soon after completing the Whakatane Birdwalk multi-cache. This one didn't require any where near as much effort. TFTC.
While babysitting Mini GECKOH and geopuppy today, geocaching sounded like a great idea. The lake definitely has swamp-like conditions after heavy rainfall, yet somehow I ended up covered in mud, while the others remained clean! Great cache, took awhile to find due to mini GECKOH trying to point me at the wrong location. TFTC
Found without problem, there it was! Bit wet today, didn't hang around. Left Micro Visitor 01
Thought this was a really nicely landscaped park. There was a freezing cold wind, so we made it a quick dash from the car and back again. Nice find - goo clue. TFTC
Got it!
I guess that counts as a TFTC. Easy find, beautiful place. I would't call that lake a swamp though. Maybe a pond? It's pretty anyway, with the autumn colors and the birds (ducks, geese, pukekos).
I didn't bring any trading items, but will return soon with some semi-exotic coin.
Cheers,

Checked out Mr Mouse's house, he had indeed vacated, leaving his lid in the driveway.
A new cache container has moved in, this time burrowed down a little deeper, hopefully to stop it getting out again!!

This site has been subjected to some earthworks.
We found the mouse hole but we only found the lid of a film canister outside the little entrance.
Maintenance???

Disabling cache until we can check out the earthworks in the area! Thanks for letting us know Le Motellier.
Lesson 1, how to find a mousehole with a GPS that still refuses to behave, with numbers going erratically up and down. This time we grabbed it by the scruff of its neck and ripped its guts out, replaced with new batteries. Still behaving badly. Replaced with more new batteries. Still leading us up the garden path. We studied our notes and maps again and headed to where we thought we should be. GPS weakened and gave up the nonsense and led us close to the mouse house, only 2m away. Easypeasy after that!
Strange, is there something weird going on in Whakatane, like a magnetic field or time warp? At all caches before and after these ones the GPS worked fine.
TFTC in a neat little hide, and hope we entertained the surrounding audience with our to-ing and fro-ing around the grass. No doubt they probably thought a circus had arrived and we were the clowns!! [:o)]

""Ideal for the "power cacher" like us, one who want to do the most caches in the shortest possible time!! ""
Now that is music to my ears!!
Took a few secs to find it - liked the park. Wet under foot. Grabbed a pic
Many Thanks

The mouse house was interesting to find. We now know about micro-caches!! Muggles everywhere but we managed to huddle round and get mousey to come out. We used our Tomtom driving GPS to get us there so that added to our level of difficulty.Nice park and TFTC.
Quick find after doing some work out at the water treatment plant not far away. Nice little park that I didn't know about.
Nice to squeeze in some caching while working..
TNLNSL TFTC.

Our very first Geckho cache! Easy to find this lovely park thanks to the directions given. An easy find as the mouse wasn't hiding very well. Tucked him up in his bed a little better.
I saw the house and I saw the cache but I didn't see the mouse, ( it might have gone a nice summer holiday [:o)] )
OmaGosh, over and out...

Found with john - cache was lying in grass.
Replaced in the most likely hiding spot - owner might want to check.

Found with LydiaR. It was in the grass, hopefully I put it back in it's right hiding spot.
