Out geocaching with Angus, 88. We made a short detour to Lefroy. This geocache was at a cemetery, but it is in a shocking condition, 10. Rusty and soggy log which we could not sign. I have taken a photo of it
Found with Geo Maggie. This case chin, a metal one, is very difficult to open due to rust. I almost cut myself trying. Just vote be very careful. Also, the log is totally and severely saturated. Cannot be signed. This cache is in desperate need of maintenance or better still replacement.
##Cache Maintenance Required please.##
This geocache has been brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit, to address the issue described in the logs.
The cache owner needs to either fix the problem or archive the listing, after picking up any geo-litter. In the meantime, I've temporarily disabled the cache page.
See the maintenance section of the [Geocache Hiding Guidelines](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachemaintenance).
If there is a good reason for a delay in enabling this cache, please post an update note log here on the cache page so that everyone will know what's going on.
When the maintenance is completed, you can re-enable the listing by entering an "Enable Listing" log, and then post an "Owner Maintenance" log to clear the "Needs Maintenance" attribute, if set.
I will check back in 30 days to be sure that the maintenance has been done, or that further information has been provided.
If there has been no action to repair the cache, or explain the situation, unfortunately I will need to Archive this cache. Caches archived because of lack of maintenance will not be unarchived.
The Geocaching Community needs to have a degree of certainty that a cache is out there to be found, and the CO has a responsibility to maintain their caches.
Thank you

Such a peaceful place. Thanks for bringing us here. The tin is rusty and the log is saturated and could not be written on.
Another old uncared for cache. Yuck is what remains. No one will be signing here until maintenance occurs. Nice to come out here though...
Log is wet and no good so unable to sign. Will require replacing.

out and about caching with 1 Lil Rafa in the Low Head Georgetown area, TFTC TNLN log dry easy find with clues. everything is good at GZ. glad for a smiley here. glad to find the cache.
Thanks for the cache Flange_1&tribe.
Spending the weekend in Low Head with RLD4963. After a slightly delayed start today (due to hot water issues at our accommodation) we headed out for a day of cacheing. After looking for a few caches around the Pipers River area, we were heading back to George Town and decided to detour and look for this cache.
A lovely peaceful sunny place today. The cache was found quickly and we soon added our names to the log.

The Tas_Fam_Bam crew have been enjoying a great Sunday adventure from 4x4, fishing and Swimming. This was a great little track to explore down even better when there is a Catchy at the end. TYFTC.
Filling in the day finding caches second find for the day took a few minutes to find but got it
I was dreading this one - hint: reach if you are short - I didn't like the sound of that. I got to where I needed to be and reached and shouldn't have worried as I had the cache in my hand, although there could have been anything up there...TFTC.
Found with my kids. Although if you're short. You may have trouble seeing it
On our tour around Tassie we made here a quick stop.
After a while looking we can find the cache.
Thank you and greetings from Germany send Moorhelmi

My grandfather was born in this town (I have never met him), so the GC was a wonderful opportunity to wander through the cemetery and look for a headstone with the family name on it. No luck with the headstones, but found the GC. What a lovely tranquil spot!
A massive day out with StainlessSteelRat and GooseandEgg but well worth it to apply a little TLC to some of our originals. It seemed a bit sad to lose some of the history of caching in our state so a rescue run was in order.
Of course, I left a trail of little Scouts behind in any container that they would fit in.
Turned off the highway to have a look at this one, did a quick replace and headed back out. Not much more to say, a quiet little town off the highway.

Well this was a BIG day and not in the number of caches found but in the time, distance and effort to do a bit of TLC on a shortlist of older caches, we wanted to do more but just ran out of time but we got a lot done today.
This cache just needed a bit of TLC, new log and container and now all good.
All is in good order with this almost 11 year old cache.
Thanks to the CO for placing this cache in the first place all those years ago.
Second thanks to my fellow community cachers today (gooseandegg and Tazscout) for the company, putting up with my bad jokes, splitting the driving of 1000km and keeping me awake for 18 hours (naps exempted).

Well I can honestly say I have never pulled off the highway here before. A cute little town but in all honesty we were only here for the cache. It wasn't in too bad a condition thanks to previous maintenance efforts but we replaced the whole thing for the COs (SSR has saved the old log book) so the needs maintenance flag can be removed.
Maintenance check #10
The container and logbook were replaced
A last minute plan was made to sort out a few issues in the north of the state. Stainless steel rat picked me up at 6.30am and we were soon northbound. After the usual coffee and toilet stops we had a good run to meet TazScout. With a real chance of losing some of our historical caches we decided action was needed so this was a day of TLC on a list of caches that severely needed some love and attention. It was a long but successful day with SSR dropping me of at 11.55pm.
Thanks and well done to my community caching buddies (TazScout and Stainless steel rat) who did the bulk of the work today. With my arm still in a cast I was just a third wheel but provided moral support

Out with mum to do some caching for the day around Weymouth and Georgetown area. This is a nice and quiet spot, quick find and definitely not a D2.5 TFTC
Our last day of caching around the area and we had a few caches we wanted to get before heading back to Hobart! This just happened to be on the way so we thought we would pay a visit. The cache was found nice and safe, needed male membsec to reach it! Now I know what the title means.

Hi there flange_1&tribe.
We found your cache **"GOLD PASSED ON"** at 10:32:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 18682).
We started the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 11 caches today & DNF'd 2. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The cache was soaked, we spent some time drying it out, but it still needs some "Owner TLC".
**Took:** We took some sodden rubbish out of the cache.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Lovely little spot would like to know a bit more history of the place. Log is soaking wet and unsignable. Left some fresh paper in a snap lock to sign until log is fixed.
well good job i was not any shorter TFTC but this was a very wet log and need some maintenance
Hi flange & tribe
800 kilometres for 28 cache finds; 7 on day one of the trip and 21 on the second: just 1 GA cache, the rest were GCs - during the trip I logged my 3000th GC find.
Places visited on day 1: Campbell Town, Trevallyn, Legana, Exeter, Supply River, Deviot, Beaconsfield and George Town.
Day 2: Bell Buoy, George Town, Lefroy, Beechford, Young, Swan Point and Launceston.
This cache was the 9th on day two.
Have always put off looking for this cache as I've driven passed the turn off on the highway, never having read the cache page, thinking it was a bush job - today I bit the bullet and on the way to Beechford decided to take a look. It should have been done ages ago.
Love this little place!! Just so quaint.
Had a quick find albeit the log is saturated and would have replaced it but didn't have another with me.
Could only just get my pen to leave a mark on the paper.
The cache was Sainted and the log signed at 1030hrs.
Nice and quiet here, a "pleasant" place to visit. Thanks for bringing me here.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

Quick and easy find. A lovely quiet graveyard and what a magnificent tree! It's huge and has such a lovely shape. Took some pics and then back to the car to go home. It's been a long day. TFTC This is a lovely area and we're enjoying our fourth day's caching here. Also we thoroughly enjoyed the leap day event on Monday night
We've now got less than three weeks left of our six month stay from the Kurrajong area, (Blue Mountains) NW of Sydney we've been touring in the caravan and also visiting with our kids and grandkids in the Huon Valley
We've thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I for one don't want to go home!

Located the tree dead-on co-ords. Even taller people need to adjust their perspective slightly to see the cache.
Logged the find and replaced. I'm a little glad this log isn't under the watchful eyes closer to the centre of town (as distinct from the "dead centre" of town).
Note the log is damp -blunt pencil works best, don't even bother trying with a ball point.

Travelling around Australia and now in Tasmania!
Today we headed out from Loira to pick up a few caches on the coast, picking up some we didnt manage to stop at in the last few days.
Beautiful warm day today, much warmer than we have seen for quite some time.
Cache found in good order.
Yep found on the way to beachford.

#2914 - 15:45; In Tassie visiting family, so the geohoney and I decided to take a scenic drive and grab a couple of caches on the way. Arrived near GZ and pointed out where I thought the likely hide would be. Took the arc through to GZ while studying a bit of the local history on the way. The geosenses were tuned up today as the cache was located right where I t\expected it would be. TFTC flange_1&tribe
Lucky last cache for the day. Found the cache quickly but it was quite wet inside. Dried it out, removed rusting contents and replaced the sodden bag with a fresh one. The log was quite damp but could still write on it - hopefully will dry if any warmer weather ever comes!
Then wandered about in the drizzling rain reading some of the very interesting headstones before retreating to the comfort of the car.
Thanks for the cache flange 1&tribe.

As the CO suggested, this was an easy find on our way to find Beachford. We were amazed at the number of wrought iron fences & expensive headstones. Perhaps there was more gold found here than we imagined.

Lovely cemetery, some very old graves. Cache was found without any problems. TFTC flange_1&tribe.
Found during a three day trip to the beautiful East Tamar area. Interesting history here. Thank you for this cache.
What a sad but peaceful place. So many of the headstones record people who died fairly young. A quick find due to the hint. TFTC
On our way back to Hobart, we called in to an interesting location to get an interesting cache.
Thanks for the cache

A quick find. Cache wet, dried out best we could. Left dry paper in zip lock bag. TFTC
Nice easy find thanks. A bit of a scratch around had the cache in hand. Need arm extension device. This trip to Tasmania going anticlockwise from Devonport is our third trip and the first in our motorhome. This is another cache, there will be many more, hopefully.

On the second trip in as many weeks, I was able to locate this cache on my way home with the crew.
Although there was a bet riding on the score, all we were told was pass or fail, which we all passed.
A quick easy find but a little hard to extract but got it in the end. Now for the drive back home...
Thanks for the cache (and the special smilie for International Geocaching Day!)

A nice, easy find in a quiet peaceful spot. So much history here. Love these types of hides. Thanks again flange 1&tribe [^]
Found with Liz and Bruce, log replaced by above and Doug dried cache, some wonderful old headstones, thanks for the visit.
We had never bothered looking around old cemeterys untill we started Geocaching now we love reading the head stones. It was interesting to note the older ages of the residents in this area as opposed to others we had visited. Must have been a good place to live. Thanks flange for the cache.
Being tall has it's advantages! Last find of the day and in the dark. Not spooky at all!! Geocruiser headlights lit up GZ and the impressive headstones nearby. Not spooky at all!! Ok a little spooky!! TFTC

13/04/2011 17:37 Found: #373 EagleEye spotted this one without the benefit of a GPS. A lovely little cemetery with many interesting graves including one poor girl that drowned at 19 years of age on the S.S. Australian in 1902. The cache container is a bit flimsy. The lid has cracked. Water has got in so the logbook and cache are soaked. The logbook appears to be actually rotting. This cache needs urgent maintenance! TFTC TNLN SL
There was nobody around, so we could have a relaxed find. Impressive tree! Thanks. #936

A very quick find thanks to the clue. Certainly not eerie today with beautiful sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. TNLN. TFTC
Really enjoyed walking around here looking at the headstones, and it was sad to see that so many had died at an early age. TN & left a soldier. Thanks Flange for a great experience.
Its like time stood still when you drive through Lefroy. The old locals are a bit that way too but they are doing it lying down. Easy find. TNLN Thanks
This place seemed somewhat eerie, not quite sure why. Cache was found without any trouble, but was too high for the mini-cacher to spot.
Wasn't sure which road to take at first, but figured on the obvious one in keeping with the nature of geocaching... A pretty place with some nice trees. Found the cache resting peacefully with the miners.
Was getting late in the day when we arrived at this cache which meant we didn't have much time to check out the location. The mournful howling of a nearby hound dog certainly added to the eerie atmosphere.
