OCW GeodudeAU around this area today. The trail along the Bargo River was a lovely hike, with only our detours to go hunting for caches in the bush that made our journey longer than it would normally take. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these hides in such a nice place.
The river was low, so access to GZ was easy. But with no signal we couldn't check any hints or clues, even though we were within a few metres (supposedly) of it. After turning over almost every rock we decided to call it a day, as all we came away with were more scratches and scars. Will return.

Tried at night. Not a good idea . Got to within 12m but wasn't game to push downhill through the heavy scrub.

DNF at 5:07 PM.
Got to GZ fairly quickly, but then it was a real struggle to push our way through the thick bush and nasty blackberry canes on the steep slope where our GPSr indicated us to search.
Gave up after 20 minutes - nice area around the river though.

**I saw these few yesterday, and called in a great walking buddy, Pipes Down Under. We met and walked under the great bridges, this would be hard to get to if the water level was up. As I was the youngest, I put my body on the line to make the find. Feet not leaving the path.**

Received a message from Seemyshell about joining him for a few caches around the Bargo River. I didn't realise he was so ageist but had good fun nonetheless.
I'm glad he put his body on the line and managed to have a hanky handy to wipe away his tears.
Thanks windsor27...It is amazing how much water has run through here recently.

This was tuff to get to for us. But we made it and found the cache with the hints and clues. TFTC
Did it the hard way, needed to climb up and down steep banks but got there in the end. The river must have been amazing to see when flooding. TFTC
That was a big fat DNF complete with slips, grazes and thorns. Every time I thought I was close the GPS would point me 7m in the opposite direction. The only thing I found was an old tin sign and no magnetic cache on the back as I hoped. I need a second pair of eyes.
I was not sure I would get across the river but early this morning it was still possible. Huge amount of debris around from the flooding a few weeks ago. It took a while but eventually laid my hands on the cache. TFTC
I had driven here in the past but there was some SES gathering so I decided not to attempt the cache not knowing where it might be. Today looking at Google Earth somehow I finally saw a path to the cache. Not sure why I didn't see this before! With that knowledge in hand it was a fairly easy find. Geodad went in for the hunt: "What am I looking for? Oh never mind - I found it". Hehehe. Thanks for the cache Garnets. Got to see a steam train too!
As I approached this cache. I was close. I saw what I had to attempt and yeah no thanks. I'll be back with partner next time...... :/
Luckily wore my jeans today, otherwise would have been nasty, was bad enough on arms. Does help to read the previous finds,as turned out helpful as gps was jumpin around a bit, tftc
Traveled North to pick up some of the newer caches in the 50km - cleared this section of the map again.
--- Finally ticked this one off the list. I had been approaching this one from the wrong side. Today I made a really easy walk across the water & along the trail. Really quick find here! Cheers

Easy stroll to GZ from Bargo River Rd. after getting scratched to pieces in the most obvious spot but not the right spot. Beautiful area TFTC
Thanks for sending us to a great spot by the river although took longer than we thought to have the cache in hand with In this together and M-2 TFTC
Nice little spot by the river... bit of rubbish though in the bush that we had to wade through. Found easily enough though TFTC
We weren't sure how to approach this one. Finally decided to park in the park and explore. Crossed the creek, passed under the bridges, spotted a couple rocks along the path that marked the spot, chose a small opening to make the final approach, saw the cache from a few feet away, and moved gingerly to pull out the cache from under its securing rock. Piece of cake.

Had a fair go at this one. We couldn't find anything & the area was quite destructed.
Will check cache out in next few days, if any seekers find it please do early log thanks.
My kids liked this one, sent me in to the blackberry bush find it, lucky for me i didn't get spiked lol.
GPS, the official app and c:geo all put us in the same spot - the wrong one. But we got some exercise and saw some interesting sights.
Great hide for the geokids, they really enjoyed this one. Was an adventure for us, taking a few wrong turns en route, but definitely lots of fun. Tnsl tftc xo

I'm afraid my memories of this cache are tainted by slamming my hand down on a blackberry bush, and ending up with a handful of prickles lodged. It's several days later now & I still have one to remove.
We came the wrong way, but I think even if we had come in the easier way, this cache would still result in being in the rail corridor.
Anyway, we made the find, and got another smiley, thanks

We came at this the wrong way and had a horrible experience. Slipping, scratching and banging was our adventure!?!

So on my freezing night adventures I decided to con a fellow cacher into doing rhia one with me for the 4X4 no wet feet dor me. TFTC
No more rain, just sunshine and a weekend in front us. Decided to camp at Gambells Rest and have camping weekend in the Southern Highlands. This is another cache which we didn't find previously, I guess it was because we then were on the incorrect level. We didn't follow the instructions this time either, Vikings never do From were we parked it was a short stroll down a path, then turned right and soon the cache was revealed!
Been here quite a bit for work. Didn't know there was a cache til yesterday. Much fun. TFTC!
Once we braved the rapids, found cache realised we forgot our pen, so didn't sign the log TFTC
Got cut to bits on the blackberry bushes found the cache and like many other times remarked didn't I already look there. TFTC
Wow, this cache has to be the best one for today. I parked on the other side of the river and trudged across with my eager goeson and geodog in tow. Very pretty and from all different angles it is definately an impressive spot. Thanks for bringing us here today
First ever geocache find for me thanks for making it easy now to find others (addicted)
An interesting junction of the Rail, Road and River. The area is overgrown with blackberries and various other nasty looking weeds. I managed to find a reasonably easy pathway without having to cross the water. SLTN..TFTC
4.30pm. The tide was low enough for us to cross with dry feet. Nice little walk for an easy find.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
With the help of National Steel who came at this the hard way once before we (National Steel, Redmond Barry and Daibokux) found the cache spot on the coordinates.
Great little walk and river crossing, the geodad was sent in to retrieve it... They put a bit of effort into the old railway bridge, very nice.
River was too high to cross from the park, but found a thorn-less way across the rails. That obvious place the cache was in, I was climbing and crawling all over last time I was here!
done!. took a couple of goes and the river was a bit up, but definitely worth it.
Like many before me I arrived on the wrong side of the tracks. I looked at a couple of other options then just decided to go over the top and crashing down the other side. Loose rocks and spikey plants, a winning combination! Fortunately a fairly quick find after all that. Left my motorcycle TB to begin its journey. TFTC!
Signal was jumping around a bit just to make me crawl through all the spikey bushes, eventualy found it, Thanks for the challenge.
Did this cache on the way to a scout camp at the Mermaid pools in Tahmoor. After missing the the road that takes you to this cache, we went in from a different track only to realise that the cache was on the otherside of rail tracks. So up and over the tracks we go and we got to GZ and see people swimming in the river below. Found the cache in the most likely spot and it was back to the Geobeast for some more. TFTCM

6:45am. Had trouble finding the parking area.
Once found, nice walk to GZ.
A quick look around and I spotted something!
Very interesting place.

Arrival parkway, look for track as very diffculty to find way to gz as cant find where through to there because of railway area so have to go over railway and a bit deep down to gz, phew found cache there as very well hide.. then return over railway... be careful go there...
Got socks wet due to holes in shoes but found quite quickly. This cache has survived well with recent muggle activity in the area.
This was pretty funny. Didn't realise the cache was down below and zoomed right past GZ. It then twigged that I needed to head down. I found the road and the park in question. Crossed the river and made my way to GZ. Pretty cool walk going under all that engineering. At GZ I was worried it was hidden in some spikey bushes and it was an easier spot. Enjoyed this cache. Thanks for showing me the spot.

Got a dnf on this when i went after it as my first ever hunt thanks to serb warrior for spotting it within secconds of ariving at the gz.
Like everyone else we went down the wrong road. We got within 10 metres but we decided not to climb down the embankment. So we went and found another road and oh look there's a park. Breatheinandout found with iPhone light as we had run out of daylight. This was a last one for the day and our 13th.
Took quite a while to find this one .. many "so close but so far away" moments lol.. Eventually found GZ just as darkness fell upon us and we called in 13 finds in our day today
Found by Calroth and Denbe on a trip to Tahmoor. First attempt we approached it from the wrong side, same mistake others had done. We approached it again from a more sensible angle and it was found relatively easily. Took a yellow dinosaur for Denbe's Caching Dinosaurs collection, and left a butterfly keyring. TFTC.
Followed the GPS up the track to where we thought it should be.. but GPS jumping around a lot.
We were running low on time, so didnt have a lot of time left to search and have to log this as a DNF.
Will come back another time to try again...

Found it with a jumpy GPS lol, been eyeing this one off for a while, needed the time and someone to go with, which was Tamelean. TFTC!
TFTC! Loggin alot today, so sorry theres no spcific message about the cache, but I really do enjoy every cache I find
3:30pm
An interesting 3 way meeting here and enjoyed the river crossing, not that it was exactly deep and the car ate it up.
Easy find.
Cheers
