This cache hasn't been here for some long time, but thought I'd look anyway. This was the first geocache I'd ever found, being shown it by Juty Bug when rogaining in the area some couple of years ago. Disappointing it's no longer here, considering the location. I grew up in the area as a child of the fifties, and learned to ride a push bike here. Vivid memory of doing a u-turn without ending up in the river. Dad also taught me to cast a surfcasting line here. Of course that was when this part of the reserve was the end of the trail - before the footbridge was installed. TFTC & the memories.
11.40am. Bit muddy in places walking from the half way seat. Another quick find then back to the car.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

A nice stroll through the cemetery and down to the reserve to fin this one after hockey one day... Thanks for bringing me down here... First entry in the new log book
Hey Great cache. Hard when your GPS loses power before you get to the site but used geocaching skills to find. Found with Just_Jessy
Visiting from Palmerston North and my first find in the Taranaki region.
Took a bit longer than expected as had trouble finding a good access point to park and get down to the cache area.
Once there, it was a very quick find. The log book is a little damp (had no spares with me today sorry).
A nice quiet spot.

Easy cache walked round in circles following the compass but found it eventually
Find number 2 of the day. I have walked past the monument location many times without realising that it was even there
Our fifth and last find for the evenings walk. A nice part of the walkway and a monument we never knew was here. Cache container a bit bigger than expected, so left a tiger patterned rubber ball, and signed the log. Thanks for the cache.
I made this one way too hard for myself, actually it couldn't have been easier. Thanks from this Canadian!
Found today with our friends, during a trip down memory lane (we used to live here). As they are French and we are surrounded by hundreds of butterflies it seemed only apt to leave Papillion TB. tftc!
Found soon after other people. Have removed Papillion TB (4K9210) and left Champagne miniture. Will take Papillion on our next travels up North. Never knew this exsisted. Thanks for bringing this one to our attention. TFTC.

I found this today, a nice easy find in a fantastic little hidey-hole. I bet not many know of this little plaque! TFTC
I was very wet by the time I got to this cache... who would think this was summer? t4tc
Hi from Tauranga... Always interesting to see where the trail leads and this one we double-guessed quite wrongly, so we got a more interesting walk than usual. Cache found in good condition. Out: 2 TB. TFTC
Found this morning while out for an early bike ride, still very windy but at least the rain has stayed away so far, This "Coastal Cycle track" is something I make good use of every time I am back down this way and the Te Henui track was a nice diversion

This memorial is not obvious from the walkway, but a nice quick find after a walk down the trek from the halfway seat...then I took a "shortcut" back to the car...straight up the hill - good stretch for the legs - lol. tftc
Lovely area around here and intertwining with the coastal path as well. Pretty cold tho'.
Enjoying a couple of days down in the 'Naki'. A nice walkway that I haven't been to in over a year. TFTC.
I'd walked right along the waterfront then onto the Te Henui path - only had this one in the GPSr and no phone access with Telstra ripping everyone off for data roaming at $20 a MB - they are not getting any more from me! A few walkers and runners in the late afternoon light and this was a lovely area. Walked straight up and it was in the first place I checked. A nice change.
Signed and replaced. Didn't see the TB in there.
Thanks!

A quick find for the end of the day. The last three were missing, so good to finish with a find. TFTC.
Just time for a couple on the way to the airport, an out of the way plaque you wouldn't spot from the path.

Enjoyed the Walkway and the caches along it. May have bypassed the plaque if we hadn't been caching. -TB TFTC
We seem to be following bandit49 - keep signing below his. Would sure never have seen this plague without the cache. Very pastoral part of the track. NINO TFTC
dropped Off caterpillar want to grow up .went to this cache as I missed the other one up the track

4th and final find for the day. A lovely area to be walking through. If there is one thing I have found with the New Plymouth area it's the beautiful walking tracks and areas that are here.
Thanks for bringing us here.
Thanks for bringing us here.
2nd in the little cache trail by the river. There was some swimming gala or something noisy happening behind a fence on the opposite side of the river. Nice little find, but not where I was expecting! TFTC
Plaque so well hidden no one would know it was there, is it a secret?
Nice walking paths in New Plymouth, thanks for bringing us here.

There seems to be quite a few tracks around here, but luckily StreetWalker's navigational skills were up to the challenge.
The camellias have all finished flowering now, must be a lovely sight in spring.
Didn't take long to track down with the hint. Seems an odd place for a plaque?

Was visiting nearby this morning so went for a quick walk along the walkway to find this. Took the wrong turning on a couple of occasions and ended up coming directly down the bank from above to the cache. Interesting and historic but surprisingly obscurely-placed plaque. Signed log and returned via the route I should have taken to get there. TFTC and for bringing me to this interesting and pleasant spot - you wouldn't even know you were in a city when you're here!
This was a quick find for us after reading the hint. There was no one around so we were able to do our business quickly.
We then decided to take a short cut back to the motel via the cemetery.

One of many caches on my morning Te Henui walk, got wet feet getting here throu the long grass, now continuing down the track.
lovely dell with many camelias starting to show. Cache had quite a bit of water in it so replanted it upside down.T4tc.
1.30pm. An almost forgotten insignificant plague today but remembering a major historic event of yesteryear. A quiet and peaceful place. Found a few treasures for the grandchildren.

I agree with others that it seems strange to have such a memorial tucked away where few (other than the geocaching community, that is) will see it. Netty found the treasure while I was searching on the other side.
Another "Well, I never knew this was here!" moment. TNLN.

Shame that such an important plaque is hidden away from general view. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC
#705 Another New Plymouth Xmas for us and enjoying the walkways. Interesting history. SL. TFTC
Loved the box. Fitted the area well. A horrible rainy day. Thanks for the cache.
Walked in from Warangi St. A nice stroll through the wet grass to the main track. TNLN SL TFTC
nice easy find and a lovely walk in the park - nice way to spend mother's day!
Left a pet rock - a duck

Quick find, and quite a good hiding spot... Quite a few bugs and insects on the cache, and the inside was slightly damp, but not enough to make writing in the log difficult. NINO TFTC
Enjoyed our day today on the Walkway. Te Henui Walkway is great. Easy find. Topped up the cache.
