" A Day at the Seaside"
We had a great day chatting to everyone old hands and new cachers, and new event go'ers, it was also cool to have visitors from "the bay area" in the USA visiting our little part of the world, and trading path tags with them. We'll collect our coins from the event page tomorrow, the bed is calling Smile
Thanks Ken, Margaret & Josie for a great day out.

With perfect weather, a terrific seaside spot and better-than-expected turnout, this turned out to be event not be missed. There was even time to get a nearby cache and have a swim! And afterwards, we capped off an excellent afternoon with two FTFs. Thanks allchin for a terrific event - very well hosted and catered for. Good effort SmileSmile

What a fantastic day!!!
Thanks to all teams and people that attended making the event so interesting and fun. We loved hosting the event and meeting you all. Known and new cachers alike. A special mention to Alene and Carl for being our international guests, It was a pleasure to meet you and have you visit our favourite holiday destination.
I hope you all enjoyed, we may just have to make this an annual event.

Made it a day trip to Victor (well Pt Elliott actually) and a Day at the seaside. Perfect weather and lots of good company, including the visitors from the US who we picked up from their hotel in the city and showed them some good old Australian hospitality. Great to meet you guys.

Met lots of other teams that were new to us and caught up with some old friends. From some of the discussions its seems like it might be time to have some Tips and tricks sessions again - one about GSAK and another about getting the most of of your GPSr!

Picked up some caches on the way home, two that have given us some trouble in the past so it was a great day.

Thank you to Ken, Margaret and Josie. You made everyone feel very welcome and set a great atmosphere for cachers to swap stories and hints. It certainly is a lovely part of the world, thanks for sharing it with us.

Attended with Racing Stripes, Maelgwn, MayGrape and K8eus. Thanks for the event, it was great to talk to some like-minded cachers and put names to faces Smile

18-Jan-09
Sorry to have missed this event. Various circumstances contributed to this, including being rostered on-call this week and not being able to get too far from the city.
My name is shown as an organiser, but my contribution was limited to offering to help. Maybe we can try again next year, though I think my Summer Holiday http://tinyurl.com/7bu6g2 may be over.

18-Jan-09

It was a bit of a drive down here from the North Eastern suburbs but all I can say is that it was well worth the effort. Both kids loved the day at the beach and both adults enjoyed catching up with old and new friends.

Bring on next years Seaside event.

A wonderful day at the seaside. Thanks for a great day out. Great weather and scenery. I got a few caches on the way. Hence the late arrival. Picked up a couple of bronze finds on the wandering way home. Way to go.

Lovely to meet you all. People I know I know. People I don't know I know. People I know I don't know. People I don't know I don't know.

The weather was perfect and the company was GREAT. It was good to meet some of the 'names' I see on the logs and thank those who gave mini GPS lessons. I thank Ken, Margaret and Josie for a great time and especially organising the childrens event, my grand-children really enjoyed the hunt. Had a great day and stayed a lot longer than I thought I would. I had a laugh when I heard my name mentioned after lunch as those with email on their phones got the just published caches through and 2 of mine were published and they were talking about who hid them. Dilemma for some, do you leave the event and go for FTF and come back or stay. We all had a laugh. I hope this sort of event happens again.

18-Jan-09
Thanks to Margaret, Josie and Ali who helped to setup the event site and lent a hand during the day.
But in the final reckoning it was all those who attended and in particular, those who shared their knowledge and experience that made the day the undoubted success that it was.
Thanks again to one and all.

Thanks for everyone that organised a great day. It was good to put names to faces and discuss caching with others. Smile

Aleene and I had just arrived in Adelaide the day before and early Sunday the Stanley's stopped by to drive us to the event (They were one of two to offer a lift to the event, Thanks, to Flipper&Co for the other offer).
After stopping for a cache and a visit to a stage of a multi they were working on we made the event.

Thanks to the stanley's for hosting us for the day. Besides the ride they brought enough chairs to include us. Plus extra food so we didn't go hungry. Not that we would in any case since may others offered food and drink. And then there was the caching down and back. Ten caches for the day when we would had been happy with 1.

Allchin and gang for putting this together. There was enough shelter for all. Mrs. Allchin had brought some magazines on SA and a book about Port Elliot for us (haven't checked out the magazines yet, but the book on Port Elliot is interesting) and helped us with a local multi-cache.

Many stories were exchanged, Aleene and I grabbed some of the local caches, and had a very good time.

Thanks, everyone, for the welcome we received and Allchin for putting on the event.
