I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Hi TheB0rg
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Can this one be checked out? Not sure it's still here. 2 punga empty and a third slipped down bank now. Many thanks in advance!
Had a really good hint here in likely hinted places but no joy. Came away with a muddy arm (up to my elbow from being brave and reaching in places I’d sooner not) but lovely spot to clean up back down the track.
Will keep watch on this one - would be sorry to see it gone for good. Many thanks for an easy puzzle!

98% sure we found GZ but was full of H2O and when I stuck my arm in I got elbow deep in water and sludge but no treasure
Found this one on a walk with the nieces. Second cache I have found this trans Tasmin bubble adventure! Absolutely beautiful trail and area. We were unable to sign the log as it's looking a little worse for wear
Solved easily enough and I could see the cache just where the hint said. However i need 2 foot longer arms to reach it. With a constant stream off muggles on a public holiday we decided to leave this one.
First time doing this walk. Grabbed the info we needed and was a quick find. Log is soaking and starting to fall apart. Tftc
Lovely toddler friendly walk. Found cache without too much hassle. Container isn’t waterproof and needs to be as contents was pretty wet. Tftc.
I visited the information board and solved the clues for the co-ordinates a long time ago, but this was the first time we'd ventured up this track for a walk in many years. We walked on past the cache location to find a couple more caches further along the track before returning for this one as the last cache of the day. I couldn't spot the cache when I looked in the hint item, so poked in there with my trusty walking pole. A solid clunk indicated that it was worth reaching deep inside to retrieve the cache. Soon had the log signed: the first finder in 6 months. Thanks for this cache TheB0rg, another enjoyable and simple multi.
#6935. I have been meaning to check out the dam at Birchville for ages. Finally an opportunity today. The weather was not the best and everything was dripping wet under the forest. But still the trees look fresh and clean in these conditions even if the air temps were less than tropical. The track to the dam and above were in great condition with gravel on the paths. Didn't take too long to gather the information at the display board and have a read of some of the track information. Then did the calculations and plugged in the coordinates. One at GZ I had the plotted location a bit further away than expected but the hint did its work. Spied the hide but there were two groups of muggles hanging around near GZ taking photos of each other. So went on up the path and picked up this one up on the return. Had to dig deep to retrieve. Signed the logbook and returned the cache as found. Thanks HydrologicalB0rg for the cache. Great to finally get to see the dam.
nice straightforward multi, a lot of walkers out on the track today, busy at GZ when we arrived so had to wait awhile to retrieve it, TFTC
I just found out about challenge caches, and saw a 500 day challenge (at least 500 days between finds). A search last night (using project-GC) showed this cache would satisfy the challenge.
So this afternoon I headed out to a place I never knew about - this is the really cool part of geocaching, finding beautiful bush walk areas all over the place.
A quick solve of the solution at the info-board, a short walk to the GZ, and an immediate find thanks to the hint. And then an opportunity to grab a few more caches along this track.
First one to sign the new log, and I make it 843 days since this cache was last found!
Thanks for bringing me to this spot!

Hi
It appears that this cache has been inactive for quite some time. Is it going to be replaced or should it be archived to make room for possible future caches? If the cache owner does not contact me within Three Weeks, I'll assume the cache needs to be archived.
While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.
I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.
Thanks for your understanding,
Regards,

It should be fairly obvious that this needs maintenance despite no explicit request from prospective visitors so maybe it would be better if it was archived.
I had the same problems with this one as the previous cachers. I fear the notice board has changed since the cache was created and that the cache has also gone walk-about.
It seems the notice board has been changed and the cache has gone walkabout. Cheers
I deduced some highly likely coords for this without needing to go to WP1 (which may be just as well if the sign has changed). These led me to a highly probable location and when I checked the hint there was a perfect match for that. But after some peering and torch-shining it appears to me missing.
TregearP and I saw the earlier log re the noticeboard so did some Googling before heading out. A couple of alternate histories recorded but a couple provided answers that reconciled with other data on the cache page and offered promising coordinates.
At the exact coordinates we found a situation exactly as described by the hint and looked inside. We pulled out wet leaves, a couple of stones and some rubbish but no cache.
If the CO is in the area might pay to do a check - else msg me direct for confirmation of coordinates and a plainer description.
Great spot, and TFTDNF

Out for an afternoon of geocaching in the Birchville Dam area in the cold and rain but couldn't solve this one at the time. I think the current information board is quite new and no longer has the info required. Had a look on Wikipedia after returning but the dates on there don't match those in the clues so maybe a checksum could be added to this cache to avoid any confusion.
Today started off extremely well with an All Black win over South Africa booking the first slot in this year's Rugby World Cup final. Good luck next week boys - play like you did last week against France!
Looked out the window and saw it was going to be a lovely day. Convinced the family it was a great day for a walk. Since I had a new cache to place we agreed to go up Cannon Point - keep an eye out for Leprechaun's Rainbow - Green (don't forget to record the code if you are doing the rainbow series).
Having gathered the data for this cache previously I decided to chance my luck getting this multi smilie today. Cache was a little wet - drained it as much as possible. Log may need a little love some time soon, good for now.
Thanks for another local multi - I look forward to completing more of these over coming months.

The hint was a giveaway and I found the cache without determining the final coordinates. There were muggles everywhere but I managed to pick the container up as I walked past without stopping. Went up the track to sign the log as most muggles stop at the dam.
There was a delay putting it back as I waited for muggles to move on/look the other way.
This is #150 if my count is correct.

Quickly worked out that I wasn't going to solve this one using the information on the board but was fairly confident I knew where the final location was given the great hint. A quick find right on dusk at GZ with no muggles around. The lake is fairly low with not much water flowing over the top! On the walk back to the carpark, I was surprised by a morepork landing on a branch just in front of me.

#649 tried for this one again after getting the coord ages ago, no one around today on my loop run to the trig. Like the bag, creative use of tarp.
Day 10 of 10 for our 10 day multi streak! Yay! The information board has nothing to do with the questions required to figure out the cache coordinates but with such a specific hint, we found it no problems Loved the walk, even in the pouring rain. LCBuilder and the geodog enjoyed it too! I was surprised how many people were out and about on such a rainy day. The dam was well worth the walk, gets a FP
YAY! day 10 out of 10 for out multi cache streak! thanks for the cache! loved the walk! found with Wafflekitties
Searched for this cache some time ago but with no luck and was disturbed by a group of muggles so had to defer my search. This is a very popular place always sombody around. Even watched a young couple come up to the area and have a swim in the dam boy it must have been cold, but they seemed to enjoy themselves and then moved futher up the track lucky it was such a lovely day. A quick find this time with a help of the new hints. Signed log and replaced as found.
988 Sign must have changed, but found info and then the cache. Found with Jax479. TFTC
Information board looks new and we couldn't find the answers on it but had a pretty good idea where cache was likely to be based on the hint and cacher instinct. Headed on our way and cache was easily located. I love this spot. With metal-art.
Found! But unfortunately we were seen retrieving it - will check it's still there when we next go there
Cache was still in-situ: have upgraded the hint so there should be no further DNFs. I want people to enjoy their trip here as much as I love coming here
Whilst we were finding caches in the locality, I decided I might as well see where the path led. After visiting the dam, we started walking back, when I happened to glance in the right direction at the right time. So I sent Simonster to retrieve something that looked suspiciously familiar, and added my name to the scrap of paper which was lurking within. TFTC. The hint did make sense in hindsight.
found it. It was well hidden but easy enough to find when the muggles had gone. Cheers
Cache # 1,387 - after our previous DNF I "PAF" to see if my suspicion on where the cache had crept to was correct. They shared with me information that indicated I was on the wrong track, and to look from a different angle. Back this morning (even though CO has disabled the cache) to see if this new information would prove to be the fount of a find. It was, and while we now understand the hint, it isn't quite accurate. Certainly safer doing this without Violet Butterfly on my back, like last time. Fortunately the falls didn't scare them as much this time around - definitely quieter this morning. Cache in good shape, although the log is simply a scrap of paper. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found with The Wandering Dragons this morning. We couldn't let this one go, and it is such a lovely walk. Nicer the second time around, and early in the morning meant no one else there. Thanks!
Cache # 514
Cache # 514
Sounds like it has been moved away from where it was originally placed so will head out to check as soon as possible, so that other cachers don't get frustrated by the visit...
A nice walk in the bush, lovely falls and dam. No luck at coordinates, and the recent 5 logs on my GPS didn't provide any help. Violet Butterfly afraid of the noise coming over the spillway, and then a swarm of muggles descended. Departed to review and try again some time later. In reviewing the logs now it appears both coordinates and hint are off?
The distance of today was not that far, so we could enjoy the time visiting 'Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre', where we had some very special encounters with different birds, that was just amazing. We did a short stop at the 'Birchville' hanging bridge, but had to move on soon, because it was raining. At night I visited the virtual cache in Wellington with a wondeful view of Wellington from the top of the hill.
I solved the two questions in the car while Lowestrider was driving. Finally I got the final location and was lucky.

additional information: I will change my geocaching alias name from 'Schlitz13' to 'Megalodon'

I loved this bush walk, but it was interesting to note that my Montana lost satellite cover whilst deep in that valley. The dam looked impressive with water streaming over the top.
Our second attempt at this one. We were looking in totally the wrong place last time and making it far harder than it was! Quick and easy find this time. Log was a bit damp and torn so put in a fresh sheet of paper. Beautiful spot on a gorgeous day. We'll definitely be here again! TFTC!
What a great place to visit.
Had to wait for a group to stop taking photos at GZ, then a few minutes hunt, and cache was in hand.
Terrain definitely needs a bump up.

Second attempt after DNF months ago. Final spot not straightforward but the help of logs before quick found. Interesting structure. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Really pleased to have found this one. A lot of hunting around eventually paid off after a wee climb. There looks to have been some recent tree cutting which this cache has been lucky to survive, it's more exposed now than I'd imagine it used to be. Logbook really damp. TFTC
NO we didn't find it spent some time searching obvious places but no avail, will come back some time and have another search, in the unlikely places next time.
DNF. But I didn't go into the bush, because it is a T2.
Nice place anyway!

We had failed to find this cache on a previous visit last year. Buoyed by recent finds, and being in the area, we decided to give it another try. As it had been raining, and given the time of year, we were hoping for a muggle-free visit. And we were correct, just one family came by while we were searching and they stayed less than 5 mins before leaving, giving us the opportunity to search some more.
Unfortunately, the wet conditions meant that it was an unpleasant task. After searching everywhere by the hint object at least 3 times, we went further afield. Thinking we'd have to call it quits a second time, StreetWalker uttered the magic words "found the cache". Terrain rating of hide understated, especially as it was quite slippery after rain.
Really pleased to get the b*&%$#.
Thanks for bringing me here.

#4523. After a DNF 15 months ago, it was good to get a smiley today. We had to work hard for it, with dodgy satellite reception, a hint that is somewhat misleading, and recent rain that made it slippery underfoot. We kept plugging away. Eventually, we regrouped for a muesli bar and some water, and then not long after I ventured into some steep terrain I had discounted before, and there was a cache. A nice place to visit. TFTC.
Find #1395. After an early finish cycling the Rimutaka Incline, decided to tackle this one. Left the bike behind the sign, grabbed the co-ordinates and headed up the track. all seemed very quiet! Got to GZ, then even before I'd started looking, muggles appeared. There was then a constant stream of muggles and muggle mutts which made looking nigh on impossible. Plus was it up or down?, the hint wasn't much use. Eventually approached from another angle and located the cache. Signed the log, took a photo and on my way. TFTC.
A lovely walk from the Totara Park Bridge through Harcourt and back to this spot. TFTC
Had to send my daughter up for a climb.GPS got a bit confused in amongst the trees.
Cool Multi! Found it after a walk that started in light drizzle, and ended in torrential rain. Taking a visiting Australian Scout on a small NZ bush-walk.

Found with friend new to caching. Info quickly gathered and survived the cicada attack crossing the swingbridge. Lovely walk to a great spot for a cache. Well worth the effort and voted our cache of the day. Well worth a favourite. TFTCSL
TFTC! Nice day for it!
I accidentally dropped the logsheet down the dam, Luckily it got caught on a branch of a tree. Safely recovered it.

Enjoyed the walk to the Reservoir, but had no luck at all finding this one despite a reasonably lengthy search.
Had some time to spare while the family was at the pool so managed to successfully find it this time. After all the rain during the week the water was spilling over the dam in spectacular fashion - a shame i didn't have my camera. Great spot to place a cache and great to come back again - very serene and peaceful. TFTC
1st found for the day Jr taybee found the cache all dry was in the open look like the Punga may have more and jr taybee was very good no TFTC
What a lovely place! And a very enjoyable walk to get here!

Quick & easy find.
Pity (?) I missed waiiti20's excitement!
Admittedly, I was almost in the same position with Master 7 year old taking off ahead of me and then ducking into the bush on the way back from the dam ... I got back to the car park and there was no sign of him! I was just starting to get concerned when he appeared from up the track ... I then gave him an earful [:(!], and a serious "talking to" .

Decided to do this one while one of the little people was at a birthday party nearby - great spot and certainly got the 'wow' on arrival. Quick look for the cache in all the logical places as per the hint but no joy. Chatted with a few muggles and decided to have another look and enlist the help of Master waiiti20 and his friend only to find Master waiiti20 wasn't around. A quick search and no success so had a look with the friend either way on the track and still no joy. All the way back to the carpark and still no joy so back to the dam and a hasty call to 111 - half an hour had passed since last sighting, with all passing muggles confirming no sighting either. Sent friend back to carpark to meet police while waiting at last known sighting - dam. While talking with some arriving muggles Master waiiti20 (aged 11) turned up after being missing for nearly an hour on his own. Wasn't sure whether to give him an earful or a hug, but ended up opting for the earful and a hasty retreat to the carpark for some explanations to the arriving search team (including sniffer dogs). Took the opportunity to use the wonderful police folk to re-inforce some messages that we have as parents sometimes struggled to get through to some of the younger members of the team about being safe in the bush and staying close - don't think this will be a problem now! Notwithstanding all this, a great spot to place a cache in a spot I hadn't otherwise been aware of - will be back soon with hopefully some more success. TFTC
Found on an afternoon's caching expedition. A quick solution for the GZ coordinates at the noticeboard, and an instant find at GZ. Managed to retrieve and replace the cache before a guy I had passed halfway up the track came in sight. Have been here once many years ago, the forest is much better grown now. Signed log, TFTC!
A very pleasant stroll with the "olds" in tow. A very pituresque final, prompting a "wow" as we arrived! A very straightforward hide. Used the hint as there were a number of muggles following us on the track.

Every now and again you manage to walk straight to a cache without a GPS! It's like a hole in one. Having been in the back of the area for the afternoon we were coming out and rang through for co-ords and hint. Got down to the dam and realised that co-ords given were the listed ones. Using the hint we walked straight to the cache. Probably couldn't do it again but thems the breaks. Cache is very wet (maybe not surprising), and emptied out the water before returning. TFTC
Finally found it! Quite a search in the wrong area, but just as I was about to give up (again) I had a revelation and searched another area - there it was well hidden. Cache contents wet, log damp, but my name is readable. TFTC
Pretty disappointed not to find this one after a reasonable walk to location. Very slippery wet and full of vines to get tangled in. Will try another time.
Mrs W.E.K.A. watched from above as Mr W.E.K.A. retrieved this cache after she decided there was no need for two people to cross the wet slippery looking boulders. On the the return trip there was some discussion about why there wasn't a cache at the top of the hill! When we reached the car we discovered we were at the carpark for the cache at the top of the hill so back we went!

A fun entry onto a relaxing walk along the river over all the little bridges. Nice dam hidden away from the suburbs, home to some ducks. The crossing was a little precarious. Found quickly and easily but had a good idea where to look after reading previous logs, looking at the photos and of course using the hint. The container had some water in, even the zip lock bag had some water - emptied it out as much as I could. Enjoyed the afternoon outing with that strange looking bright orange thing in the sky - haven't seen that in a while! TNLNSL TFTC
Lots of water going over dam and lots of people at dam. So didn't try to hard come back some other time
yay finally fourth time..and I have to say I suspect it was missing one of the times I looked cos I pulled this area to bits but today it was there as clear as to see...
lots of water at the moment...very slippery...glass bottles didnt help...not really child friendly to get to the cache..but a great walk in...cache is damp as is log book..we emptied the water out but due to location this will be an issue....

Had a great wander up the valley and snapped the attached photo. Great spot. Geodog got stuck between some big wet rocks and I had to climb down and drag him out. Haven't worked out how to do decimal conversions in the field (phone based GPS only does decimal) so had a wee search around blindly. Couldn't turn it up. Never mind, worth it for the photo. Will try again with geokids to do the searching.
Dropped by for some GC / TB snapshots and to drop off / pick up a trackable item...
