Plans were made with the FurfacesLL ladies to do a loop of Cowra, Grenfell and surrounds. Although I have recently been on this loop with Tanso, I was keen to head out again with the girls and even attack a couple of the DNF's from the previous trip. I managed to pick up a total of 18 finds today and 1 cache was DNF'ed again after another extensive look.
Temp cache placed until the CO can visit and place a new one, same coordinates.
Thanks szandor for placing these caches, lovely area especially on a day like today. and thanks to FFLL ladies for another nice caching day out

Our only free day for quite some time so we decided to head out on a geomission around the area. We have had a couple of mini tours lately, but today we went all out to Cowra and Grenfell to see how many we could find. Rapidlywild came along for the drive to fill her gaps where she has previously posted DNF's. The weather was lovely and the drive was picturesque, thank you to all the cache owners for bringing us to this lovely part of Australia.
Peaceful place, we arrived at the same time as a couple of muggles who were looking at the well kept gravestones. We decided to put a replacement in close proximity to the wall until the CO can do some maintenance.

Hasn't been found since 26/02/2015 with a number of DNF's and NM logs. Maybe time for this one to go? CO hasn't logged in since Monday, 29 March 2010
Searched high and low but unfortunately had to walk away empty handed on this one. Based on the string of DNF's on the cache, we conceeded to claiming a DNF. Love these old cemeteries, especially war dedicated ones. Thanks anyways szandor Maybe next time
myself and Rapidlywild planed a day trip out clean out a few towns. it was a long but great day. we did find a few that i have never seen before today so i was glad to have somebody who knows what the are doing.
all up in one day I started at 8 in the morring and home by 1:30, once i got in the car Rapidlywild had Stamp made for day which i love apart from i left it in the car a few times and had to run back ad get it.
ill be back one day for this guy Thank you

Had a bit of a gentle look in the bushes, strictly sticking to the walkway, as directed by the hint. Nobody else around, but it still didn't feel quite right to go poking around any more than we did in this location. With the previous DNFs, maybe this cache is gone, particularly as the area would have been gone over with a fine tooth comb for the 100 year ANZAC services a few weeks ago. We did enjoy being brought here to this special war cemetery by the cache. Maybe a new cache, accessible from outside the grounds, might be a future consideration? Just a thought. Thanks anyway.
Looked high & low but a fresh layer of mulch indicates a garden cleanup possibly in preparation for Anzac Day. I think the cache may have been removed
Despite the number of DNFs on this cache, thought we would have a look anyway. The location was too good to pass by. I was with taurus1955 and B/dale Bandits. We had a very good look but could not find it today.
Didn't find it under the scrubby bush thingy - aka Lavender. May be time for a check.
Found it after a bit of searching. The log is getting wet. But not too bad at present. TFTC TNLN SL.
My mum and I found this cache while on my birthday caching trip around Cowra! We parked near the cache and made the walk to GZ. We started searching and after a while we finally found it! Nicely hidden. The logbook is quite damp and mouldy.
Thanks for making us visit the cemetery with this cache!

Nice & cool in the shade here. Took a while to find, but we did so after some scrabbling in underbrush.
This is the one I came for but foiled by many muggles and needing to get moving to a funeral for a WWII Veteran.

Thanks for the cache Szandor and the opportunity to visit this peaceful place..... They died with honor so we might enjoy peace.
We are on a road trip heading to the ACT - it was great to be able to have a stop and do this cache. We are enjoying the beautiful rural scenery. [^][^] Thanks to szandor.
My second attempts -how come I didn't see but today finally found it and signed the log. Thanks szandor.
Today we travelled from Gooloogong to Cowra using geocaching as a guide.
We replaced the cache container with a film canister and log book. The hint is between brick wall and the last shrub.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Cache and my mint tin are gone. Next person can replace to save it being archived.
Based on the photo of the hush there is only one brick wall that goes in this direction and there are only new plants there, definitely
None like the photo. I'm guessing the council has refurbished the garden and taken away the cache.

Unable to find. We had a decent look and no luck. The GPS was pointing us in the direction where there were no shrubs.
Can the CO check if it is still here.
Enjoyed the site, particularly with it recently having been in the news because it has been 100 years since the significant local event. Thank you for the stretch and site

We were here in November and could not search a some muggles were around looking at every grave and taking their time. Today looked like the same thing again but we thought lets have a walk. After a while the muggle left and we started the hunt but unfortunately came up empty handed. Looks like everything is cleaned up and cache might be gone.
1064: Been past here many times. Took a cache to get me to stop. Nice clean log sheet. TFTC szandor, and thanks for the new container Joshwa27.
Replaced with small green mint tin, instead of getting it archived. In corner of garden near gz, under leaves, just stand on path. Under yellow green small hedge. Thanks for bringing me here.
Had a quick look & couldn’t find the cache in any spot that matched the hint. Quick look at previous logs & saw the string of DNFs, so abandoned hunting for what is listed as an easy cache. Might be time for a check by the CO.
I had a look around the Japanese War Cemetary, a lovely memorial.

Tried for a quick grab on the way through Cowra but it elluded four sets of eyes.
The ControlFreaks are on route from Brisbane to Canberra. Mr CF wasn't well so was waiting to see a dr but Mrs CF and Master Freak made use of the time to go caching. Another lovely spot! Without the clue it took a little bit of searching but then we knocked it out of its hidey hole.
Thanks for bringing us here szandor!

A beautiful and peaceful morning in this important place but I had no luck finding the cache. Perhaps I hadn't woken up properly.
Second visit to this very quiet and reflective place - a great reminder of our history. a quick find on our weekend away - and we had walked out here from town 13km round trip and back via the Japanese Gardens. The cache was just big enough for us to leave a lucky Chinese Feng Shui coin. TFTC. 2BluFish

Found at 5:20:00 PM.
Found on a trip out NW with the family camping, showing and caching. After a pathtag was found at the last stop DogBoyOz was very keen to make this find. Good to have a previously unfound cache ticked off.

What a beautiful place for a memorial to our fallen heroes. It is a funny thing to say that to walk around a cemetery is very calming - but it was.
I was extremely sorry not to have found the sister cache at the Peace Bell.

Sorry For The late Log! But! With The Help Of Noikmeister I have gotten all the logs that I need.
Not-so-quick find en route from Grenfell to Cowra with Doppelfrog during the great world-wide tour of Dubbo. Doppelfrog had found this some time ago and stayed in the car where it was warm and dry expecting me to make a quick dash and return. However another couple of muggles were approachig GZ intent on studying each plaque in depth so searching wasn't an option right then and there. I decided to wander further afield into the Japanese cemetery and was surprised at the denoted ages of the interred. It seemed to be either very young (babies) or quite old (60-80 yrs) but not a lot in-between. Although there were several with no age denoted so my curiosity could be completely misguided - but an interesting site none-the-less.
Had a good look around where it looks like it should be but no luck. Maybe next year when i return Ill try again.
Nobody in sight, good sign, but even with some fairly thorough gardening led about by an indecisive GPS, I finally abandoned what should have been an easy find due to the steady rain and no raincoat. Perhaps another day sometime. Great but sad memorial
After having alternator problems yesterday and being stranded in Wagga overnight while finding a replacement and fitting it we headed off this morning aiming for pprass camping event near Port Macquarie at the end of the week and picking up caches along the way. It's great to see all the improvements that have taken place here since the original photo of the plaque was taken. It was also quite interesting to learn how the Japanese cemetery came about. We have also found the cache at the Italian War Cemetery in Victoria as well. Once the cache was located and our name added to the log we then went for a walk through to pay our respects. This is a very worthy cache and a favourite from us
Lest We Forget.
Lest We Forget.
Our pocket query did not list the recent find by Happyjacks55 so we were really pleased to find it. A place that is well worth a visit. TFTC.
Found it!! Thankfully there were no Muggles around and that the gardeners were busy elsewhere....2 big backsides sticking out from under bushes was possibly not a good look...took us awhile to find it but planted it back in better position.
We had planned a visit to the war cemetery during our house sitting visit to Cowra. We had a good poke around but came up empty handed. With 3 DNF's before us perhaps it could be disabled until the CO can check it.
We searched the area quite well, overturning lots of bark etc around shrubby things... Read all other logs, took on board info from all of them. Fence still broken, sat down to look at different angles - still no luck Will try again another day...
We had a wonderful morning of caching around Cowra. The locations of the caches were very significant & a lot could be learnt in a short time. Hint seemed good but could not find it today.
TFTC szandor A favourite point given for location even though we could not find it.

micheena - pulled up to find sprinklers on. Hubby wasn't getting wet, but I found another way in and had log sign whilst he wondered where I disappeared too. Thank you for a greatb location.
After visiting Bunnings we decided to find a few in the area. Large branch has fallen near GZ and busted the fence. Easy find. TFTC
We visited here yesterday, but workmen were cleaning up a large tree that had FALLEN.
Found it today, workmen gone, large branch still on the ground, side fence damaged.

TFTC. Have been to Cowra a number of times but this was my first visit to this part of it.
An interesting area to explore and learn about. Eventually found the cache. TFTC
This really is an important part of Cowra's history. It was interesting to read about the breakout and the lives lost. The war was very close to ordinary people in Cowra.
It took a bit of finding, there being a number of bush thingies in the area.
