Well November has come around once again before it gets too hot, that means off on a camping trip chasing Yellow Faces . Lucky enough to find several but have encountered a couple Blue Faces .Either way the experience has been rewarding due to the Geocache locations and the early summer days in the high teens & low to mid 20s.Many thanks go out to all the COs and the maintenance crews around the remote and country regions that make travelling more enjoyable.TFTC
Today's caching was around Minlaton with some of the Gone Fishn' and the CRAB series, as well as others along the way. Also did the Salt Lake and the Water Towers adventure labs, which was very enjoyable drive around. TFTC Last one for the day, making a total of 58.
Forecast says rain all day on the Peninsula. We had decided to finish the Watertower AL today. So we braved the wet , packed the car and ventured on. Stopped in the wind, but thankfully no rain.
Found with the Nelson crew on our way back to Adelaide for the mega. Enjoyed the caching out this way
I have to see i have been disappointed so far on this trip to Aussie how few kangaroos we have seen while caching. We are now making our way back to Adelaide for the leap day mega tomorrow. Nice easy find here. Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie are signing our logs as SPBINZ or sometimes SPINZ as BT has done a large number of caches on the Peninsula. TFTC Dazzatron/Margieh#16043
Caching as team SPBINZ: Sidewaze, Paddlechick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie from Nelson, New Zealand. Having had one record day caching (430+) and then another quite full on (200+) were a bit more laid back today, taking our time for a good look around, several AdLabs some earthcaches and generally a more laid-back sort of a day.People sometimes ask how you can see much of the scenery when youre so busy caching but I find I see more than the average tourist who keeps to tar-sealed roads and drives from town to town. So, another awesome day exploring rural and small town South Australia.Greetings from the Shaky Isles across the ditch and many thanks for the hide.
Found as part of the SPBINZ team (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ, and Nanzie). Today we're taking a slower and more scenic route and trying to target caches Bullertrout hasn't found on his previous visits. We' have seen a few roos on our travels over the past couple of days - some bounding through the fields and others as mincemeat on the roads. TFTC jojuha and kia ora from Aotearoa/New Zealand # 21,635**tepoti/Dunedin is the place to be 26-27 October, 2024 for GCA7ZHD - Geo Toroa Mega! Please come and join in the fun, find heaps of caches and experience some wonderful Southern hospitality.**
Found with SPINBNZ Team Another Nice easy find thanks Rocky Glen Grommets maintaind by Dazzatron/Margieh
Another caching day dawns as I head back to Adelaide to collect Kiscardi. My first find for the day.Thankfully no Roos. Cars and Roos dont go well together as I discover once in the l blocks of Queensland.TFTC
Took longer than it should have, but in my defence, there is heaps of long grass around at the moment. Thanks
Up early today but had a more leisurely morning than yesterday. A bit of a coastal walk and the. Down to Marion Bay. Needed to find a cache on its 9th birthday for a challenge I am working towards. Picked up a few others there to make the drive worth while.
Then finished the geoart did a little happy dance. Huge thank you to the team behind fishy tails really appreciate the effort that goes into maintaining such a mega series for all to enjoy. It’s taken me over 5 years to complete.
After the geoart was done picked up a few AL and meandered my way home. Still so many places to visit always love a trip to the YP.
Last ones as I leave the peninsula TFTC

A quick drive by on our way home to the Clare Valley. The log was signed & dated before being put back in the cache & all was returned back to its hiding spot.

Three of us were heading down the Peninsula, and we stopped there to find this one.
I'm happy to report that I found the cache in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Rocky Glen Grommets and Dazzatron & Margieh.

Away for the Australia Day long weekend (We decided to be extra Patriotic and have Monday off as well! ) We are camped at Pine Point and today headed out early to grab a few caches and do a bit of sightseeing before meeting friends in Coobowie for lunch. Sadly no Roo's except on the yellow sign, but a quick find.. TFTC Rocky Glen Grommets
A quick pull over here today. The cache was easily found and is all in good order
A quick overnight trip to the Yorkes for 1.5 days of solid caching. I did a bit of the geoart by myself before meeting up with Davidwazza for a majority of the day caching around Innes National Park. With an event in the evening in Edithburgh headed over there before going for a nice walk along the water front for the evening. Day 2 I made my way from Edithburgh along the coast line and back home by lunch time. A total of 169 caches for the trip.

A lovely day at the beach In Port Vincent for lunch as a halfway point between us from Ardrossan and our friends from Yorketown. Glad the weather is really setting into Spring. Fish n Chip lunch and an afternoon watching sailing craft and crab (wanna be) catchers. Ahh doesnt get much better than this.
Of course we grabbed a few caches on the way down/up too.

I really liked it and it was so hard we walked past it like a million times and thanks for the toy
Huge weekend with heaps of finds on the Yorke Peninsula! Loooong day on fishing line followed by geoart, A planned weekend with great company- Munja and Davewazza and Kiwis mar1sa and the Seagnoid.
Tried to complete as much of the geoart as possible, and not under time pressure for as yesterday. WE started later then completed Fishy Tales (FT), Fish, Jellyfish, Sally Starfish, and Sammy Starfish and the straggling caches from the Anchor. We had a great dinner in Yorketown.
Spectacular scenery along the coast great and replacement containers almost finished. A number of sections did need attention so we did what we could to keep the caches viable. most were brittle/cracked with wet logbooks, and animal damage animals. Caches signed as KaA (Kiwis and Aussies). TYFTC SLTNLN amazing effort. fave

A long weekend with a massive amount of geocache finds in the Yorke Peninsula! The weekend was filled with a loong day of the fishing line power trail, followed by a subsequent day of the geoart at the peninsula bottom. I managed to squeeze in a night scuba dive, and then it was a slow return home finding a few geocaches on the way. An unexpected enjoyable weekend than what I thought it would be, with great company from locals Munja and skuzzybear, and visiting Kiwis mar1sa and the Seagnoid.
The original plan for today was to continue/complete the geoart at the bottom of Yorkes, but I think everyone had had enough with the monotony of getting in/out of cars with little scenery and ongoing repetition, that we decided to take it slowly back up the peninsula. It was an early-ish start from 8:00 hr, as we wanted to beat the crowds back heading home from the long weekend. Geocaches were collected along the main coastal road (or just off it), with a small detour visiting Black Point to collect those caches and having a FTF. I then said goodbye to the team as I drove skuzzybear back to her car in Kadina, and then collected a few strategic oldie caches on the return back to Adelaide. Unfortunately I was waiting in heavy traffic for a duration of 30 min at the dreaded Port Wakefield turn-off due to the time spent in the morning collecting caches, but otherwise, the return drive back went without incident. The weather was kind to us with an enjoyable morning, and then raining (and cleaning!) my car once I had arrived home.
A quick driveby cache, and I guess the kiwis enjoyed seeing the iconic roo crossing sign. The geocache didn't take long to find once at GZ, and the container and logbook appeared to be in good shape. Thanks Rocky Glen Grommets for the placement, and to Dazzatron/Margieh for the ongoing maintenance.

making our way back to the city, grabbing what we are able to on the way, thanks for the placement, greetings from NZ either signed as KAA or mar1sa.
The end of the Kiwis and Aussies trip on the York Peninsula had finally come to an end and rising early we began to make our way back to Adelaide. Like any good caching trip, we slowly cached our way home. Despite the greying weather it was a good drive back home, with traffic not presenting us with too much of a problem. An enjoyable and relaxing way to finish what was a fantastic trip. All logs were signed as KaA (Kiwis and Aussies).

ONe of the aims of us Kiwis is to see some weird and strange wildlife. We saw three of four roos, an emu, brown snakes, stumpy lizards, and a frill necked lizard. Awesome. Also HUGE centipedes and giant long legged beetles and a few million ants. Slightly less awesome. Are ants what Australia is made of?
So, yes, Roos crossing. Not here though. But we did find the cache.
After spending the night in Stansbury after a couple of over-the-top days in the Yorke Peninsula targeting the geoart, Team KAA are heading north - the rush is on! To relieve a cache of its empty logbookness. Thank goodness for the cooler weather! That 42 degrees we had earlier was just too much.
Team KAA (Kiwis and Aussies) are Skuzzybear, the Seagnoid, Munja, Mar1sa, David and Kris.

We hopped onto it and found this on the way home from four days at Port Vincent. Thanx
While out geocaching today with wazza9 and Nana Nel we stopped off to search for this cache which was soon located once at Ground Zero. We stamped the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
TFTC,

Heading up to Port Wakefield ready to start a long day tomorrow, 34 today.

On our way to Port Wakefield geocaching along the way, quick find, signed log and replaced. Geocaching with Wazza9 and Team GBS. TFTC another reminder of the kangaroo that we hit on the way over to SA.
Today we headed south and enjoyed visiting and exploring some of the small towns and seaside communities of the Yorke Peninsula, together with ilook4geo. The sea breeze was much appreciated on yet another hot day. We found a selection of caches to represent the different areas and each one had both names noted on the log.
This was a nice easy find. Thanks go to the CO for placing a cache here.

Spent the day cruising and caching around the Yorke Peninsula with goingplaces2. We had a good day, found plenty of caches to add some smileys to our map. Logs signed and we moved on. TFTC.
As this is a generic log comments relevant to this cache will be placed at the end. On a caching trip with Dty73 & Tankengine to Yorke Peninsula. Team signed as DTY. Thank you all the cache owners who have put so much effort in placing and maintaining these caches. Heading back home and doing a few caches on the way. Quick find. Kutgw
We have a small team travelling to The Yorke Peninsula from Canberra. It was decided by the group before we left that our team name would be DTY, although I act like the boss, I rarely am and so the initials actually stand for - dty73, Tankengine & Youban.
Today was the last day of our caching holiday and so we headed from the Yorke Peninsula this morning back to Mildura for the night, before heading to Canberra the next day.
The cache was straightforward to find with good coords. The poor kangaroo on the sign looks like someone has tried to shot it, but missed. Tftc!!!

We are coming to the end of our three weeks staying on the Yorke Peninsula, and we will be sad to say goodbye to such a lovely area. We have moved around a bit spending three nights at each of the spots we’ve chosen, and it’s a great way to really get to see so much of what is on offer here. We’ve picked up heaps of caches but, more importantly, we have come to love this region and intend to return here and continue our explorations. Some great bakeries, coffee shops and pubs are also worth coming back for!
This would have been a drive by, except we were traveling on the other side of the road! Took a while to find this one, but we got their in the end.

The Rats, steeba and Hoojar have teamed up for a York Peninsula adventure of massive proportion. With much planning and logistical coordinating, we had a great five days meandering the country roads collecting a plethora of caches. Our journey started with a handful letterbox caches before heading down the peninsula following the “Gone Fishn” series. We followed this up with an array of geo-art images that litter the lower peninsula. Returning to Adelaide we collected a gaggle of old and rare finds which included some interesting earthcaches and virtuals.
My apologises for the generic log, but thanks to all the cache owners and caching buddies who made the road-trip such a memorable and fun experience.

After a review of the geocaching map in South Australia it was determined a trip to the Yorke Peninsula would yield some significant numbers. So, The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up once agan to tackle the many caches on the peninsula.
We started in the darkness after flying into Adelaide and the next day set some personal records (550+ caches in a day) and milestones before bunking down. The next day was another massive numbers haul which resulted in a bit over 1,000 caches in two days !
Then it was a little more sedate down to the bottom of the peninsula and then back up the easterly side, ticking off a few EarthCaches in the process .
After that, back to Adelaide for some night caching, virtuals and more EarthCaches!
The power trails on the peninsula were great- quiet roads, some great green wheat and yellow canola scenery, coupled with some great company and usual ribbing of each other [^]!
Thanks for your cache- sorry about the generic log. For the EarthCaches and virtuals look out for an email or two shortly.

This was a trip that had been some time in the making. A journey from Wollongong in New South Wales to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, in search of large numbers. Five days were set aside, and The Rats, Steeba, and myself planned the details out. Lofty numbers were floated; we could find one thousand geocahces... Maybe more! The world was our oyster, all we had to do was make it happen.
We flew into Adelaide and quickly rented our car, then headed off for a series of thirty letterbox caches late that night. We then set up camp, ready for the next few days.
Two days journeying down the Yorke Peninsular saw us collect 550 caches the first day, and 450 the next. One thousand caches in two days! The numbers were phenomenal, unheard of, and excellent! At one stage we found fifty caches in a one hour period! We worked ourselves into a solid routine, and managed to push these numbers without caching after dark. Incredible! We camped out beside the trail, ready to commence again the following morning.
Having reached our goal of one thousand, we rented a cabin and enjoyed a solid relax and beet, and we were then able to dedicate the remaining time to specific caches, mostly Earthcaches to keep Steeba (The Professor) happy, and a good number of Vrtuals as well, as we made our way back from the end of the Yorke Peninsular to Adelaide. It really became a Tour De Earthcache! If your geocache is such a hide, stand-by, as Steeba will soon contact you with our answers.
As is always the case with these trips, the company was the highlight, with banter non stop, the time went by in an instant.
We saw some amazing things, found some excellent caches, and had an absolute blast.
Ticking just over 1300 finds for the trip, you will have to excuse the boilerplate logs!
Thanks to all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining their hides. It was fantastic exploring this part of the world that I had never visited before. Thanks also to my geocaching partners, without whom such a trip would not be possible, nor fun!
Cheers

Found as part of My Annual leave SA adventure, I had a great time touring the Yorke Peninsula and other areas of the state. This was My last day on the Gone Fisin trail, I sure was glad to get it finished and go look around a few towns, I was a bit over looking at wheat and canola. Thanks Rocky Glen Grommets (F=1257 H=91) for the cache.
Easy to spot with its cover, which gives good protection for the cache. TFTC Rocky Glen Grommets.

Heading north after spending the morning in Port Vincent we made a quick stop to look for this cache. With the temperature climbing passed 30 degrees we didn't want to spend too much time in the sun. Fortunately accurate coordinates and the clue led us directly to the hide.
The container and contents are in good condition.
Thanks Dazzatron/Margieh for maintaining this older cache. Some of our first cache finds in SA were Rocky Glen Grommets caches.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about with some of those friends and we targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

After waking up to attend a 2:30am flash mob, Gary and I meandered around the YP with our focus on visiting many of the new earth caches in the area whilst others played the games associated with the JLWE. After an enjoyable day we enjoyed dinner at home and an early night....which may have included a few alcoholic tim tam slams!
Some of the cache hides today were easy, others were more challenging, but overall we enjoyed yet another wonderful day with fantastic weather.
Thanks for the cache Rocky Glen Grommets
