Wish I'd read the last log before I went now. As noted, plenty of gorse and trash but no cache to be found at GZ by us today.

26-Feb-10
We searched for 10 min around the top, lots of rubbish and empty bottles in the gorse, but no cache Sad

Third cache today, enjoyable walk from Little Kaiteriteri. Had to ask the campers where the track started, but approx 20 minutes later we had the cache in hand, and the walk back down was certainly easier !
Well worth the walk just for the brilliant views over the surrounding area. Now off to find that Cafe by the beach for a well-earned beer ! TNLN TFTC

Checked cache. All good except pencils needed sharpening. Suggest you take a pen (or pencil sharpener) in case of need. Happy Christmas and New Year everyone.

Out with Mrs.G for a walk around the lagoon. The track on the west side was blocked and we had to climb up. At the seat I carried on up to the summit for this easy find.

TNLN TFTC. This brought back some memories for me, I spent my childhood Xmas holdays at Kaiteriteri, as soon as I got on the track I knew exactly where the cache would be. A great view.

I walked straight to the walk entry point from memory of several decades ago when we camped here for our annual holiday. As it took us two days solid travelling to get here from the deep south we found it strange at that time about how many Nelsonians were staying here. Because we had a tent (despite it being the next size down from a circus big tent) we were slumming it out here in the back which is an obvious change from all the power points here now. Thanks for the great walk today and clever cache name. TFTC (774)

Is there an access point that doesn't require you to sneak through the camp ground? If so, I didn't find it. I pretended to be visiting a camper and walked up from the back. Luckily all tracks lead to the top (I hoped!), because after making the distance to GZ more for a while, the track turned and we were rewarded with a magnificent view. Cache was (luckily) an easy find. This is a great cache for visitors to the area, and I would think a hint as to where the track starts may see more attempt it as not everyone is a flauter of law and good manners like Mr B. Toddler B was there for the ride - unfortunately quite literally for most of the way as his poor little legs had a bit of a work-out at an earlier hill cache also Wink. TFTC, enjoyed it a lot. (Congrats to usakiwi who clocked up 900 on this cache a few days ago - well done!!!)

Yep Beltfamily. At least two access points. However, the walkway is a public walkway and the camp is a public campground with visitors passing through welcome.

Hi, We had troubles logging the TB Traveller in this cache so have logged on the orginal finders address (my best mate) and hoping we can rop the TB in this cache for people to find and continue its journey! :O)

Nice One!!!!!!!! Wow, Big number 900. Could not ask for a better spot to be a caching milestone. Great view, pleasant walk and a bit of mystery. Quite intriqued with the narrow, yet tall, concrete weir in the gully adjecent to "right hand" track. Along with the big number of large logs, there must be a bit of history there. Well done! Thanks

As others have mentioned, finding the entry point was half the trick of this cache, the other half was the quick blowout up the hill, otherwise quick and easy find. Great views. NINO, TFTC

Only the second to find and such a nice spot too. Well worth the walk up for the view. A nice loop walk as well. Just watch for gorse. TNLN TFTC

Great spot for a cache, awesome view,Wasn't sure where the track started for this one so headed around the inlet until i saw a way up the bank which put me on a track that i followed to the top of the hill,Didn't know there were so many tracks on this hill side and followed a different one down which brought me out in the camp ground (could get a little busy here in the next few weeks). For those cachers following head for co-ords S41 02.163 E173 00.809 and it will put you at the start of the track.TFTC and FTF TNLNSL.
