Having had a busy geocaching weekend in Dunedin, at the MEGA, matagouri and I are now continuing on with our holiday 'road trip'.We stopped here for some supplies before targeting some more puzzle solves and a handful of other caches.A nice quick find here. Thanks for setting it up

29-Oct-24
Rattll and I are continuing our holiday in the South Island after the completion of GeoToroa in Dunedin. Today, we're heading from Brighton Beach to Middlemarch, aiming to pick up as many solved mysteries as possible, and to visit the Sutton Salt Lake.Into the hills behind Outram to pick up solved caches from the D/T series and Black Knight series (plus a couple of others). At GZ, a quick find. All well in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!

DAY SUX (27/10). The weather has turned a little less rainy and the wind has dropped off a little. By the afternoon it had become a very pleasant day to cache and our team was playing catch up. The lost time saw us madly racing around and sourcing caches that we missed previously, yep it is going to be a big day. For the next two days the plan is to finish the rest of aeroplane and albatross, to get and make a start on the dts. Oh and then there is the old caches and some whereigos and multis ... OH so much to do. Plus we have to fit in some events, there is no time for food, lucky its still daylight till 8.30pm. Thanks to the COs for all the caches we found today. It was a great day and all caches were replaced as found.

Day two- Geo Toroa DunedinStill cold, wet and rainy With Queensland buddies, Snickersallan, chamad and WollastonSigned log as QLD+1Thanks for creating and placing for our enjoyment

27-Oct-24
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan, Ardom & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. Log signed as QLD+1 to save some space. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. ?? Day 4 of my 6 day trip to Dunedin to attend the Mega and clean up all the puzzle caches solved over the last few years.Todays journey took us to the Mega to meet up with a few cachers and then hit the BT81 series before heading back to Dunedin. Thanks for all the puzzles, caches, find, frustration and enjoyment.Spent the day with BFG, Bruzie and GreenGecko1. Logged at combinations of BBGC.Quick find. Very little view today.

27-Oct-24
Heading south with Heihei, along with most of New Zealands cachers, for the Dunedin Mega.Out for a day of caching with bruzie, CrystalFairy, & GreenGecko1, logs signed as BBCG.Instant find on our way to the rest of the DT grid

27-Oct-24
Our second long day of the Mega weekend with geofriends from QLD and one from NSW. We had two more friends join us for a couple of days, so our fun group consisted of Bluewattle, chamad, Wollaston, Willis007, kolour, Ardom, Gcoven, BenM70, and all logs were signed as QLD+1.Although the weather was still rather chilly and overcast at times, we all enjoyed the beautiful scenery everywhere we ventured. The majority of caches found were in great condition, easy to find, and a credit to all the CO's that placed them for the benefit of the geocaching community.Apologies for the generic logs, as I rarely log them whilst travelling around the countryside and tend to do them once back at home.

27-Oct-24
This is day four of my Dunedin Mega trip (and IS the actual date of the mega, despite some previous logs to the contrary), the first time I've ever been here before (never mind geocaching). Obviously with such a plethora of caches to find there's going to be plenty I'll skip but I hope to find my targets.Unfortunately logging is going to be generic, but thank you to all the cache owners and event organisers for the things you do.All good here, and thank you to BirdFlu for the placement of your Traditional Cache.Find #7293 at 27 October 2024 11:25am

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbookAfter yesterdays wallet debacle, I had to shoot into the bank for card replacements or risk being penniless and homeless for the next few days. The bank was amazing, and they had me fixed up and out the door in good timeGood rural views here. Thanks BirdFlu. TFTC.

15-Jul-24
I am in town in advance of the Mega and trying to get the ones that the gang might not be so interested in along this road. TFTC.

02-Jan-24
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a slight detour as we travel from Dunedin to Invercargill.IAt first I was skeptical that the would be a view with the hedge between the road and the hill, but I was wrong. I liked the way the view was nicely framed by the hedge! A quick find on our way down to Outram. TFTC.

We decided we’d have a go, even with roadworks just beyond the cache. Was a great hill climb - I imagine rally cars or cyclists use this road. Cache found quickly, nice a dry, and now with a race car TB. We got up into the cloud ️ so no view today (dropped tb)

.A quick snag and tag at Saddle View on our way past. Cheers

Tuesday 23 April - Outrum, Taieri Gorge, Middlemarch and Sutton today. With Jack and Jill along for bike ride at Middlemarch, in the mix.

Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

23-Apr-19
Today's mission is to cycle the (well, a part of the) Otago rail trail and to check out Sutton. Nice pastoral view this morning!

Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

09-Feb-19
We had an afternoon free today and with the sun shining, we decided to find a few in the area. This one was quickly found and the log was signed while enjoying the view. TFTC [^]

06-Nov-17
Found the rocky hide sans cache. A month without updates and threwdown a small cache in hide with more covering. Noice drive up the way but a long way to go for a DNF. tfts

*Finally discovered the [archived](https://coord.info/GC1JFZ4) cache that supplanted the initial placement by 5min. Bitsprayer's cache was eventually muggled by some atrocious Otago weather and after said bridge was washed away, [another](https://coord.info/GC7BE56) was placed straight after.*

Found in the company of Hevic and safetykat on a daytrip to Middlemarch. The George King Memorial Drive caches were pretty much the only series we ended up seriously tackling, but it was well worth it. A fairly straightforward find but definitely one worth stopping off for. Cheers!

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. We landed in CHCH late Friday night and after picking up the rental car we bee-lined it straight to Dunedin to grab a few hours sleep before the mission truly started.

The goal for today was to locate a certain few geocaches which help for certain challenges that we are all currently working on, and to explore some pretty cool country, before getting to tomorrows starting point in Omarama. We thoroughly enjoyed this day of the mission and saw some pretty awesome places, and managed to achieve most of what we wanted. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches, and I apologize in advance for the copy and past logs!

Some great views along this road, thanks for the cache placment.

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

A stunning view from up here. I took a moment to enjoy the view while C&D made the find.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.

After driving down from Christchurch last night, sleeping in the car in Dunedin Twisted, and getting a good early start this is the practice day for the planned mission for tomorrow Big Grin, thats not to say we are not taking the day seriously, but there were roads to travel, views to see (so unlike what we were used to in the Waikato) and of course caches to grab.

Leaving Mosgiel we were headed for Sutton Salt Lake by the backroads. All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues Cool

thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

Spending Christmas this year with my family, and of course, lots of caching in the mix that means!! Smile

After a caching trip in the morning, and returning home for some lunch, then went out for a second caching trip after lunch with mum! This way were a few caches that I needed for the geocaching licence series, so we made our way.

Fun times catching up, and finding caches along the way too Smile
