I was off for a wee jaunt in my cachemobile going from Tokerau Beach up to Cap Reinga seeking out a few caches.

I had a nice wee walk along the top of the bank to this one. I couldn't count the number of posts as a lot were covered by the foliage but I soon had the cache in hand.

Cheers for the cache, Just Floundering.

03-Mar-23
Surprisingly busy today - the car park was full, but nobody else came our way! A bit hard to count the posts with all the extra growth this rainy summer has caused. However, not too hard too spot the cache. Log pretty full but we were able to find a spare line. TFTC

My friend was heading up this way on a maintenance run having just taken over the nalawood caches. I enthusiasticly joined in as I have been meaning to come back up this way for ages. My last visit was in 2018 and there have been quite a lot of caches placed since then.

This walk was lovely. It did indeed give amazing views of the wide Pacific. I loved the flax on either side of the track too. A quick find at gz. Thanks for the cache Smile

One of several caches we located today between Pukenui and the “very top” of NZ. We started along this gravel road but after 1.5kms or so we decided it was too corrugated for our “not-so-rugged” motorhome. Parked it at the side of the road and I jumped on the ebike for the remaining 4.4kms. The cache was a reasonably quick find. Very picturesque beach but a bit breezy at the time! #4664. TFTC.

Ninety Mile Beach is finally tagged on my 'bucket list' for this trip. Now back to the main road to explore some more before returning north to Zara.
We walked the beach to this one totally missing the track. Had to get The Seagnoids assistance to navigate the really big step. Ditched old manky log for a temp waterproof one to keep it going. Cheers. Return trip via the track makes things soooo easy.

Its Wednesday - day Five -Kaitaia and Ninety Mile Beach with The Seagnoid and Toby.

Its another epic 4 week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

When I do big caching trips I write notes in a notebook and do the logging after - as you can see from this, I write stories, and typing them into a phone is so not going to happen! Usually my notes are fine, they remind me of the area and I flesh them out. This time - no idea. Here's what I wrote: *Walked beach then zoomed and saw path. Back tracked and took differrent path coming back up from the one going down. It had a VERY big step!. Rock climbing.*
What did I mean by *zoomed?*

Day five of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. A third day of mucking about the Aupouri Peninsula. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!

Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

This was a weekend that had been in the planning for a little while and in the company of HKCB we headed up after work. the object for the weekend was to locate as many of the west coast caches as possible along with a couple of other mini missions including the northern most caches, and earth caches. All was going well until we hit a rock and punctured/ripped a tyre which in turn resulted in the weeknd being brough to a premature end and heading home effectively 24 hours early. We did however manage to collect approx 50 caches and a number of these had not been located for some considerable time.

I would like to thank all the cache owners for their work to keep many of these remote caches still in place.

This was the tenth cache of the trip and a nice quick find before continuing north. Nice little detour from the main road to be what appeared in the dark a spot I want to visit now in daylight
Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

15-Apr-17
2.35pm - DAY 2 of 3. Today was our second real day of caching on our north trip, starting in Kaitaia and heading to the Cape.
With lots of stops, detours and back on only 1 road that we had missed caches from the previous night.
This part of the North Island is amazing with great views, history and lots of hidden bays and Campers parked in all sorts of places.
The roads were good but couldn't get over the number of one lane bridges, twists and turns. Told the guys that it would be great to bring Mrs Fap up this way but she hates driving on these road types.
Amazed at the number of tourist at the Cape, cameras posed waiting for the sunset.
Returned to Kaitaia for night stopover. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap) and Mr Davidson (of Davidson clan). Signed most finds as BGH.

Visiting Northland for Easter... The plan for today was to cache our way to Cape Reinga. If conditions were favourable, then we wanted to return along Ninety Mile Beach... We really hope to make a big dent into several challenges we are working on...

A quick walk and find along the stunning beachfront... No problems with this one, as this seems to be an isolated section, away from prying eyes. Hopefully, the area will be remain an undeveloped piece of paradise. TFTC.

Heading back home from a family event only just up the road from here, but didn't have time over the last few days to head down to these couple of caches. On the way home now, but couldn't leave without attempting these two hides. A few cars in the carpark, but GZ was clear. A quick hunt and the cache was found, thanks for the placment.

After having no luck with a nearby cache we went for this one (which we were going to anyway). The cache was soon in hand once we arrived at ground zero and the cache is dry and in good condition. The beach was lovely and there were some rare New Zealand Dotterels with active nests there as well, which was cool to see. Thanks for the cache!

Decided to take a bit of time off from the hum and drum of work and go for a trip up the winter-less north and see if I could get a bit of a tan before the winter blues set in when I go back South to the winter-less Wellington[}:)[xx(]Red Face

After doing a few caches this morning and making our way back from Cape Reinga this was the next cache that was on my list of unfound caches, arriving near GZ we managed to find a carpark not too far from GZ and it was a short and vigorous walk to the GZ.

Arriving at GZ it only took a few seconds and soon the cache was found at the first spot that I checked, was a bit surprised as to the cache container, and after signing I replaced it back in the spot that I think that it was hidden and camoed it up a bit again. While walking back to the car I managed to got a few photos of the interesting beach scenes, quite nice indeed, really can imagine that this coastline can really get quite rugged at times.

After replacing the cache is was time to head to the next cache that was on our list that we needed to find today.Twisted[:o)]Razz

Thanks for placing this multi cache here and for bringing me to this lovely spot. TFTC TNLNSL (7650).
