26 October 2024 1:35pmThankyou Sons of Callum. Starting our day from the far end, catnap777 and I walked straight past everything else on our way to "Windy Point" and cached our way back to this one. What should have been our first glimpse of the amazing views from this ridge turned out to be our last. It was great to see "Bill" way off in the distance here especially knowing that we had circumnavigated the entire lake on our tiny tinny chasing caches there not so long ago. This was a great spot up here for a hide and makes us look forward to finding its predecessor at Cattlemen's Clearing when the seasonal road there opens up again. From here we went on to visit caches around Paradise Falls before calling it a day. [|)]TFTC & the views. [^]
26 October 2024 Thank you DGS Australia for another Pathtag .I was looking at more than Bill when we got to gz for this cache.I don't think there is a mundane outlook along this entire escarpment. Gee dalerious and I had an awesome day here.Thank you Sons of Callum for bringing us here. We were looking forward to finding your other cache called Cattleman's Clearing, but the gate was locked down that part of the track, and although we don't mind hiking, we just didn't have the time to invest today.
3 yrs unloved on a PnG Had a couple hours spare to have a look around the area and so glad I stop to check this spot out , if it was latter I would have rolled the Swag out here for the night Thanx for the Adventure Sons of Callum Stay Dirty 209810:44amSmokeyBearOG
Another location i would not have bothered to venture to if the cache wasnt here. TFTC & thanks for bringing us here.
Not too bad. Actually, really good!
It was the holidays and with nothing planned for this day, I started convincing those family members who are old enough to drive that we should go caching for the day. Eventually, the nagging payed off and a trip to paradise falls and powers lookout was planned with hiking, bushbashing and riding with Bulldog! Only condition, I have to choose what caches to do.
After DNF'ing on the acts of the seven gord's cache, we drove up as far as we could until a tree blocked our path. So, out came the bikes and after a short ride, we arrived at GZ to have a cache and a sandwich. After the GPS stopped jumping around, we located the cache in it's secluded hide away. Signed log and returned. TFTC and the amazing views.

What a view! After a DNF just a few moments ago we were wary with this one, we drove as far as we could towards the cache but a large fallen tree blocked the road. So out came the bikes and after a short ride, we smashed our way through some more bush to get to GZ and the amazing view. After the GPS stopped its little panic, the cache was retrieved, logged and replaced. TFTC
Such an incredible view after a nice drive up the the mountain. Pen wasn't working so I couldn't sign the log.
Lex.
Weather is here.
Wish you were beautiful.
The bananas camped here. So close to the edge that we could see the lake from our Taj Mahal.
There was no interupted view by a freeloading 4wd who had indecently parked in a place without considering the more important personel that wanted water aspects.
From here the bananas abseiled again testing the comfort of junior bananas..
It was peaceful and generally a nice experience.
So thanks for the view
And
Merry Xmas to you all.

Walked in from Paradise Falls, great view from here. I'd been at Lake William Hovell the day before, nice to see it from above.
Hunted around for it a little, lots of hiding places. Acquired my first minor wound for the afternoon here (there would be many more further along the ridge line...)
Finally found it, thanks for the cache.

Came out today with jammin appleford scouting this ridge for some new cache placements. We had just been talking about this cache assuming it was on the other track farther south. We parked the car and Ben just happened to check the app on the phone, and to our surprise we were only 100m away!! Great views and a wonderful coincidence. .
Thanks for the adventures.
Cheers Gordo #1204

Great little campsite! We came up here to explore the escarpment along this ridge and parked the car 130m from this cache, unexpectedly! A quick search at GZ and the box was in hand.
Thanks for a great cache! Fav from me.

After visiting the Falls, we continued along to get this cache.
an easy drive on the first track, but a few downed logs that we moved and did a bit of track clearing on Mcmillans track. we were soon at GZ. Great view and well worth the drive.
No serious 4WD (we have 2010 X-trail) required as the rain has not been in this area for some time.
(Be prepared as a large branch had come down across the track from the time we went up till we came down).

It took us three different track approaches before we were actually able to zero in on this one. The first attempt at accessing McMillans Track from Burrowes Road wasn't successful (couldn't find access to the track), nor were we successful coming up from Sandy Point (Parks Vic close the track access from Queens Birthday weekend until early November). Fortunately our third approach from the Wabonga Track (off Falls Track) was successful and after a bit of a search we managed to locate the cache - well I did because Pooky was standing on top of it looking puzzled at his GPS and scratching his head! [:o)]
Pity the weather was "socked in" with low cloud but we were able to peak down at Lake William Hovell when gaps in the fog allowed it.

Out for a big day of caching on a brisk winters day with fellow cachers Biggles of OZ and Mrs Biggles. Number 5 for the day. The coordinates were spot on, although not obvious to the eye. It took some searching around before it was easily found. It would have been great views on a clear day, but the fog had started rolling in. Thanks for bringing us to another great spot.
TFTC. Took Pathtag.

This must be one of the best kept secret caches in the north east of Victoria. It had not been found in over a year and was in pristine condition. The road up from Paradise was also in good condition and was an easy drive in the geoHilux today, but definitely need a high clearance vehicle for the humps that divert the water away from the road. We were out and about with beatiebrooks (mr harrowang's sister) enjoying the wonderfully green countryside and a bush track or two. On reaching GZ we took a few moments to take in the wonderful views in the distance and the many wildflowers in the near vicinity. SL at 12.15pm. TN Left: monkey and eagle PT. Noticed that many of the eucalypts along the road have been bushfire damaged and are now beginning to sprout new growth once more. The tenacity of nature to survive and regenerate clearly visible. #1833 TFTC Sons of Callum and a lovely drive on a spring day. The clouds are gathering, so maybe our sunny day is about to change.
Beautiful outlook for Bill, surprised he has lain unvisted for so long. 4wheel drive in is a bit exciting but not dangerous thanks to bro harrowang's expert driving. Scenery along drive lovely, recovering from past fires with bright regrowth and wildflowers. View across to Lake Bill is quite spectacular. A nice cache, thanks Sons of Callum

First on another beautiful day in the King Valley. The 4WD made it a relatively easy drive up the track I would probably not take my 2wd - the large mounds would make it difficult. The view was worth the effort. TFTC
Unloved no longer, arrived here from Paradise Falls, who would have thought it could get better.
What a magnificent view. Sat for a while, had lunch enjoying the peace and quite.
Track up was reasonable except for a couple of sippery spots. Cache was in good condition.
Thanks for bringing me here Sons of Callum.

Catching up on logs from three years ago. Apologies for the brief comments, it was so long ago I can't remember specifics.
Found with Team Rubik. Apologies for the late log. Not time at the moment for caching or for descriptive logs. I will admit this one was a nice challenge with the needed skill of fallen tree dodging and avoiding getting bogged. Sensational views of the lake from here. TFTC.
This was one of a series of caches we attempted as part of a 4wd'ing/caching weekend with a few other members of AWGC (Albury Wodonga Geocaching), including DJ Geodog & Rascal and Haveanaz. What a fantastic spot, thanks for bringing us here. Spectacular views, and great to see the effort that's gone in to letting us appreciate them.
Out & about on a 4WD day trip with DJ Rascal & TheChops & yet another great spot on our journey through the hills. After DJ Rascal had to get the chainsaw out to clear a large fallen tree on the way, we made it safely to come across some amazing views of the Lake & surrounds with only a bit of light rain about. Would look amazing on a clear day!
A great spot for a cache - many thanks for bringing us up here.

Was hoping to drive straight to this one from Paradise falls but it was not to be. I had a few maps of this area, 1 telling me it was a walking track and another telling me it was a 4x4 only track, turns out it is a walking track so had to go back down from the falls and and turn right.
Soon after our small group containing myself, TheChops and Haveanez were momentarily stopped by a fallen tree across the track but we made short work of it and managed to get round. The drive to the top can be done in a 2wd drive but only in dry weather. We did come across 1 fairly slippery patch on the way up and caused a comical moment on the way back down when I lost all traction and managed to slide around the corner in some sort of 4x4 drift / scandinavian flick type of maneuver.
Luckily for us the rain had stopped before we had arrived at Gz so we could see the amazing view. It was completely unexpected as we had no glimpse of anything beyond the scrubby undergrowth beside the track until we were at Gz. So many hills and so many views from them in this area, very nice.
SL, TNLN, Cheers.

Forgot that I had entered the waypoint into my GPS but stopped at the exact right place to find it without meaning to! Only discovered that we were at the waypoint as we got back in the car to leave! Got out again and found it fairly quickly.

Found 01/01/09 1415. Sometimes when you're out for a day's caching with friends serendipity plays a role and allows a find before anyone else knows about the cache ... as happened today
The Sons of callum had mentioned a greal location they had discovered during their last trip though this area and I was not disappointed ... I think I even cam up with the cache name [:p]
FTF honours can go to the next finder ... I couldn't claim them for this one

Happy New Year Sons of Callum
