We stopped here for the cache, an amazing walk down to a lovely little beach, unfortunately we didn't find the cache, it was very wet and we did not want to trample on any vegetation, thanks for the amazing spot to discover though
Another find at a great view in sunny weather. Quiet at the beach as it's a dead end.Log is OK in double ZIP loc, but the container is wet. Dried as good as possible, hope it will be okay for a while.TFTC!
We like coming here, but not for the surf - we like it at low tide for exploring to rock pools (although it is thanks to a surfer many moons ago that I know this spot. That was before they'd built stairs down and it used to be a perilous journey. Once, said surfer was making his way down and slipped, ripping the bum of his wetsuit open on some rocks. Not one to turn away from some good waves, he went out anyway, with his bum on show to all the other surfers). Beautiful morning here and no one around. The kids both spotted this at the same time, then left me to sign while they went down to play at the beach.
Well I have never surfed in my life but my second son's name is Daniel so I wanted this cache for that reason. It was quite a windy day today and the waves were rolling in. They were really crashing in on the rocks further round the coast. A quick find here and a photo taken. Thanks for the cache
Stopped by today and the cache is still intact and well. The logsheet is a little soggy, so added a new one just in case. Cache on.
Really pleased about the super surf breaks but we were fixated on the opposite direction - that was once we finally realised that we could still breathe, so therefore were still alive after all those stairway(s) to heaven. We found the cache as written, even with brains deprived of oxygen. Log was sodden so we added a new waterproof one. Cache is all good. TFTC
I took quite a few wrong turns, but eventually prevailed. Note to future cachers: there are two sets of steps, and you're on the wrong one.
No surfers here today as the sea is super still. Yet it a beautiful little beach to discover. TFTC
Strangely enough the track to this one wasn't showing on our maps so we did a slight unnecessary bush bash then found the track and headed down where a quick find was made.
A plan was made with 3 other Westie ladies (Merlot, Nette and Supernannny) to head out to Goat Island as the weather was amazing - a perfect sunny and mild Autumnal day, just perfect for a road trip.
This was our last cache along this coastal track before returning back to the car and heading home. The cache was spotted on approach as it was out in the open - so after signing our names on the log we hid it in the flax so that it cannot be seen from the path. TFTC

Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.
On our way to the music festival in Paihia in motorhome and stopped off at Mathesons Bay. Decided to stay for a second night so have time to do a few caches. Challenging walk along the rocks but we'll worth the effort.
Found with Fisha1288
Cheers, Cympull.

GPS gets very jumpy next to the sea! Went up and down those stairs a number of times, checked nooks and crannies around every tree. finally it zeroed in on 1m and it was exact! Note *plant* as stated, not tree haha TFTC
Can’t find got to the edge and it said 7 meters then if we went either way it turned to 8
Parked at the road behind and headed down the track to GZ. Good coordinates and hint had me on it straight away and the cache was signed. Removed the old log which was wet and mucky.
Took a days leave today for a couple of reasons. Firstly it's my birthday today and with mrs c scheduled to be at work (she was off sick in the end though, and stayed at home), and secondly I wanted to head up to the Northernmost Regional Park at Te Arai, East of Wellsford. The sun came out, I was on the road nice and early and I managed to find the 20+ G_2 caches that would get me into 4 figures of finds by him. Thanks to all COs for their hides today, and the final cache find was 33. Like my age. Once upon a time!

A quick stop off to check out this beach, found the cache easily on the way down.
A bit wet, but I cleaned out some old rubbish.
Thanks!

Had a nice walk, good to see different areas. My first official find, found some with my boyfriend, but this was the first one since downloading the app myself.
Instead of being stuck in a traffic jam in Warkworth... we have more time for checking out caches ... Maybe not behind the plant but actually in the plant.. ..
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 while out geocaching today.
*We really enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Lots of steps down to cache but well worth it. Long weekend and school holidays saw nearby beaches packed with people - down here no-one at all. We soon found cache and checked out the beach.*

Just added a favourite point as I missed clicking the heart on my log - quite shocked to really be the first one in 180 visits!!

But the navigator is not very actorate. But beautiful views. Paper is quite wet. Could you please put new paper in. Great place to put a cache.
Thank you. I enjoyed finding it

The tracker wasn’t very right. But awesome view. Very wet, needs maintenance.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Third find and final find on first my first geocaching found this onexa little harder.
After climbing Mt Tamahunga yesterday, I stayed one more day up in this area before returning home. The Whangateau Holiday Park was really nice, so if you ever need a place to park your camper, I recommend it.
I never like walking down steps to get a cache since that means I will have to climb back up afterwards. My GPSr was not locking in on one spot, so I ended up walking past GZ before realizing that I needed to go back. TFTC.

Maybe a mild concussion (You did say “head ht”) as I slipped going for the wrong location. Then found in much more sensible spot.
Last one today.
Very nice cache.
Thanks for hiding and merry Christmas to everyone.

Let kids have a play on beach while hubby & I looked. Wasn't long till cache was in hand signed and put back. Tftc
What better excuse to head off for a days caching, than a new GCHQ challenge and some new souvenirs to earn. Headed off south with DaffyNZ to pick up as many as possible in the general Warkworth area.
After doing the Moir Hill walkway loop, we headed out towards Leigh. Parked in the handy spot at the end of the road and walked down the track toward a blustery sea with no surfers. With the good hint, the cache was soon located, the log signed and then all returned as found. TFTC

I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 today for a drive out to Matakana and Leigh. While in the area we went to the Sculptureum, Reptile Park and found a few caches. A quick find after venturing down the path. TFTC!
Vistra and I were out for a drive to Leigh for the day and we decided to grab some cahes on route. Popped down and soon had the cache in hand, no one out surfing when we were there though. TFTC
Yeah, the sun comes out, the rain stopped. Best time to looking for geocaches. Quick find. TFTC
Found it. Logbook is a bit soggy and almost full. Very nice place for a cache. TFTC
(2681) In the area with Skibow1 today doing a Saturday caching trip. Quick walk down the track to collect this one. TFTC
Needed to get a whole bundle of caches for a 50 per month challenge so decided to investigate the new cycle trail. The followed up with a bit of a road trip around the area. No muggles at the beach today. TFTC
Nice location, didn't get a chance to look in the rock pools, maybe I'll go back on a calmer day. Cache is well-hidden make sure to hold on to some tree roots when searching it's rather slippery. TFTC
One more cache for the evening before calling it a night. Must be a nice view in daytime, but still an easy find at night with a good torch, cheers
As usual, we choose the wrong trail to this one, came back up the hill, and tried the second trail, nope wrong again, finally just as a rain shower began we got on the correct one, ah well , we had some good vistas on our wrong tries and the cache is in good shape, but oldvlog book is full, tftc G--2
I managed to disturb a very large spider from this cache. The little beach is lovely but unfortunately as it was cloudy today I was not tempted to go down for a swim.
Now this is a pretty cool spot. Will certainly be back here again soon for a bit of snorkelling and swimming with the kids. Thanks for bringing us here
Cache was a bit damp (even with lid on container) due to torrential rain over past day. A beautiful spot we wouldn't have seen otherwise.
Found the cache with **Himbäre** on our trip to NZ.
What a country!
Nice place for a cache, unfortunately there was nobody surfing while we visited.
TFTC and greetings from Austria

Up this way with Cats&Dragons for the weekend with the main goal of tackling some of the T5 Kayak caches around the Auckland area and a little further North. We also had the side mission to give kiteboarding a go, but unfortunately that fell through last minute, but that only meant we got more caching in. The general plan was to cache around along the East coast from Mangawhai to Mahurangi on Saturday, and a big focus on the Auckland Kayak caches in the Auckland area.
A very early morning start, even by our normal standards (2am), meant we were had a bit of time to grab a few caches before we were meant to meet up for the boarding. But even with a few set backs including a few DNF's we still had a very enjoyable day. Thanks to all the CO's for the placements.
No troubles finding this one. A good hint and nice coords made it nice and quick.

Wow that was an early start, 2am left home, first cache at 4.50am.
Little did we know it but we could have had a sleep in as in the company of HKCB we were meant to be going Kite surfing today, but the place at Omaha double booked us then we had other plans for the rest of the weekend which meant a refund, a bugger but never mnd we did manage some great caches as I work my way torads my goal of collecting caches for the Challenge elective of the DGSc Challenge (stupid evil challenge, I now understand why no-one has ever done this elective previously).
But anyhow, after a long drive and not enough caffine we were ready for a couple of caches.
This was a quick stop on the way to our first objective of the weekend. Great travelling these back roads when they are clear of traffic and any traffic you do see from a long way off.
Our collective thanks must go out to all the cache owners who made this trip possible as we also managed to get quite a number of water based kayak caches along the way, but left enough for next time. We covered from the Managwai Heads to Mahurangi/Waiwera area in the south on the saturday, followed by a trip across Auckland on the sunday
this was the alternative view of the day after we determined that we weren't going to make to Island of adventure this time, maybe next, so it was a chance to grab a few others.
Thanks for the placement

It was worth going down the steps to see this magnificent surfing beach. Mr CD had found the cache before I had arrived. Signed and returned. TFTC
We have just one day to explore the area before continuing our northward journey so decided to check out Omaha Beach, Leigh and Matakana. We were surprised at the volume of traffic on most of the roads we travelled so had to be careful with stopping and parking for caches along the way. Thanks to all the COs who have taken us to some fabulous locations.
A deserted beach, beautiful with the waves crashing in at high tide. Once in the right place, the cache's hiding place was quickly spotted. Now for the climb back up the hill. TFTC.

We rushed this one on our way home from Leigh today. we will be back tho to spend some time here as its so beautiful.
In the morning it was raining. We were prepared for caching but no way to go out. Now the rain stopped and after a very well dinner at Sawmile we started with this one. Thanks for paying our Attention to this place. Greetings from Germany Hamburg.
Apologies for the late log - misplaced paperwork! Found this cache at 1035Hr on 22Nov2015. Left a 1966 6d.
