Time to be put to bed. Was fun while it lasted.

Should it be archived rather than disabled?

The Picnic is over for the time. Maybe see you all again at another one.

It was a treat to be able to attend this event whilst in the area on other caching business. Thanks to both the organisers for changing the date, even though it conflicted with your other activities - it was great to meet you all. A very low key but pleasant activity.

Picked up the Bendigo Coin to return it to it's hunting ground.

Thanks again Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co & Dragonfreys.

Mary & David were there on a very warm afternoon. We hadn't been there very long before roundcircle arrived, followed soon after by Ian and Penny, pprass and hi pressure. Roundcircle had already selected the shadiest table nearby, so the Event coalesced there. Although not a large Event in terms of numbers, we enjoyed meeting everyone and talking about the weekend's activities, recent GPS purchases and some very impressive geocoins that hi pressure had brought along. Not long after, our hosts Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co arrived, and there were many introductions all around. Fascinating to hear all about his work in the area from Dazz, whose knowledge of the area resulted in the route chosen for Monday morning's attempt on "Grampians Secrets #2". Next, Dragonfreys arrived and more introductions followed. All too soon, the afternoon ended and we departed with an appointment to meet pprass and Phetlern later in the afternoon for a crack at "The Sentinel" before dinner at the local pub. Many thanks to Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co & Dragonfreys for setting up this Event, and for rescheduling it to coincide with our group visit. Great to meet you all.

Thanks to everyone who attended our event. It was great to meet everyone there and to get to put faces to some of the names we have discovered in our quest for caches. It was a great afternoon gathering some tips and ideas for the future. Thanks to everyone who invests time and effort in a sport we all love.

Well better late than never, we took a bit longer getting back than we had planned so only managed to catch the tail end of the picnic and meet the keenest picnicers, or those who chose not to be running around in the heat finding caches this afternoon. Thanks Razz'l'Dazz'nCo for organizing with none of the help we had hoped to give. Lots of good caching discussion and meeting people.

18-Jan-09
Was good to catch up with everyone and meet a few new faces.

5th find of the day and 1747th total find at 12:26.

We're doing a 'Grampians Secrets' cache raid with pprass, maccamob, Acts2 pheltern & this cache was our last stop before we had to return home.

We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoons festivities and the meeting with Razz'l'Dazz'n and Dragonfreys.

Thanks Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co & Dragonfreys for organising the event.
Ian and Penny

(Dropped Embi Geocoin; for Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co to take to their next event, and Victorian Geocaching Banner ;for RoundCircle to display at the next Ballarat event.)

Arrived at 12.50pm and left at around 3.40pm.
This event started off in a low key manner as there were no hosts about for some time. Eventually Razz'l'Dazz turned up with their Co (some excuse about having to discharge himself from the hospital!) and then after a long time the Dragon's appeared after traveling a long, long way to get to their event before we all left to do some more caching.
The smaller group actually helped in the more in-depth discussions and getting to know cachers rather than flittering from one to the other as happens in larger group gatherings.
High Pressure showed us his impressive personal coin collection which must be worth quite a lot of money; Kinkel (sans Tilley) showed us her new Oregon, Roundcircle should have camped with the rest of us the previous night and McAddies allowed us to log their Earth Cache!

Thanks for the event and we hope to come back soon to explore this wonderland further - ie there are still some more caches that we haven't found!

Arrived at the coords around 1215 hours, there were two vehicles in the carpark at that time, one group of people were having a picnic(muggles), the other vehicle had a couple sitting in it. I wonder if they are cachers like me, I'll just stay in my car for a bit longer, then another car came in, parked next to the couple. Then I over heard a conversation, which contained some names that I knew, ahh! they are cachers as I thought, so it was time to go for a short stroll, wander over to the vehicle and say hello. It was maccamob, then a few more arrived, so where are hosts? Well where is GZ? It's here, not much shade, let set up over there, more shade. Had a great time meeting some new cachers & the one I had met before. I was the last of the visitors to leave after chatting to the hosts of the event.
Thanks for the Event.

We had a nice time catching up with fellow geocachers and sitting in the shade of the gum trees in the picnic area.
Thanks for organizing the event it was great to be able to relax and chat about geocaching, geocoins and tech stuff.

Nice little event on a very hot day. Good to meet up with everyone again and meet some new faces. Nice to get some caching done with other cachers too, much better than doing it alone!
Thanks for arranging the event Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co & Dragonfreys. Look forward to the next one!

18-Jan-09
Great to meet some new people and some names I've often seen but never met.

Thanks for organizing the day. we enjoyed the event and the day caching in the area.

17-Jan-09
A last minute change of plans means I'll only be able to get as far as Beaufort for my Niece's Birthday.
Was looking forward to catching up with everyone and doing a few of the newer Halls Gap hides since I was up for last year's picnic. Will try to get up and cache in the area some time in the next couple of months.
Have fun everyone!

17-Jan-09
Just adding a couple of geo-coins.

16-Jan-09
All being well, I'll be there.

15-Jan-09
Damn, looks like we won't be able to make this one after all. Will still look for your new caches, though!

14-Jan-09
We'll join in the conversation and activity - thanks for changing the date. We'll recover the Bendigo Geocoin too if you want.

13-Jan-09
This is a must for me, as I did live in Ararat, 30 odd years ago. Long time I know. Have been doing geocaching for just over 12 months now, wish I knew about it years ago, I enjoy it so much.
By the way that's 1 adult.

12-Jan-09
Won't be able to attend this one, attending the event in Churchill - so many events, so little time. Have fun!

11-Jan-09
It's in the diary. Never made it to the last one so I hope we'll have more luck this time.

07-Jan-09
Sorry, can't be there - holding my own event in the Latrobe Valley - anyone not attending here because of distance could maybe look at coming to our one "Meat & Greet". Have a good one everyone.

06-Jan-09
Looking forward to attending this event.
Thanks for shifting the dates!

06-Jan-09
Will try to get back from the airport in time for this.

06-Jan-09
Sorry, can't make it, even though I love the Grampians. Sundays aren't good for me, I've done most of the caches in the area, plus I have to fly to Adelaide that afternoon. All in all, bad timing for me.

Hope everyone has a great day. Smile

05-Jan-09
Well - seeing as how we will be in the area on that weekend, we wold love to attend.

05-Jan-09
We'll be there too.

05-Jan-09
Will be there, thanks for the date change.

05-Jan-09
Would love to attend but Karen is working that weekend. Have a good event guys.

05-Jan-09
Due to the group already gathering for the massed assault on the Grampian Secrets we have moved the date to the 18th - hope this isn't an inconvenience to anyone.

Pity this was not the weekend before, a group of us will be there then.

04-Jan-09
Could this event be brought forward by a week to the 18th? Would have been so convenient.
