Pottering down the Acheron Way, heading home after a visit to the lovely market at Taggerty and dropped here for a stretch. Realised I'd tried this one before but a family were parked right on gz so had to give it a miss but not a soul in sight thos time so an easy grab
Thanks for the Cache Hi Pressure and Cache Guardians,Took the Van out on a shakedown to test the new Fridge (after 6 months without a functioning fridge it was wonderful). We camped at Ned's Gully in the Cathedrals and though busy, it was a top weekend. I was unsuccessful in finding any of the Caches around Ned's and promised myself that I would get one on my way home.At the Acheron River I looked for this cache without much hope, been there a number of times without mobile reception or success. This time the Cache page came up and the hint was invaluable, I had always been searching the Arcorail.Yahoo! The container had some water in it but miraculously the Log was pretty dry. And this one is up for adoption too, might just Nab it.Regards from Victourer

Great hide. Kids found it. There was water in the container but log book dry in plastic bag. ️
Cache was extremely well hidden but is in excellent shape and now not quite so hard to find.. (MD)
Had old information for this one so I was apparently looking in the wrong place. Should have updated Gsak in this area and I'd have had a better chance.

Um . . . to be honest I can't remember this one. Yeah I (we) found it but can I actually remember it? Nup! Oh well, just log it and move on. (Probably a Sistema beside the road in some nondescript location.) I do remember that the box was broken so I s'pose I'll submit a maintenance log.

Out for a day of caching and sightseeing with Wetjala and Mrs Biggles in an area away from the bushfires. After travelling along the Donna Buang Road we turned onto the Acheron Way and this was the ninth of many caches for the day. Wetjala again made a pretty quick easy find. This log was also very very wet but we were still able to sign our names. TFTC.
On my way back from holiday in NL with Lekker_Ding we camped and cached our way around Warburton and Marysville and had some great experiences and found some great caches. Thanks for hiding this one
S_38 pulled it out quickly! Cache is cracked and log wet, but able to sign. Nice spot!
This must be one of the state's least popular drive-bys on a major thoroughfare, no? Almost 6 months between finds. Admittedly I've been here before myself but I didn't look for it on that occasion, so I'm Part Of The Problem. It's quite an attractive place, as drive-by locations go. I believe buhfuhguh laid eyes on it first, with guidance from the hint. Thanks hi pressure and Cache Guardians!
So now that we are here we must begin our journey up to the top to get a new d/t for me and a series of caches that have both interested Bendsinister and I. So with the car parked just across the road we donned our packs and our hats and all the such for the adventure ahead. But first this cache, with my partner in crime for the day still getting ready I headed over to make the find and shortly enough it was made. Thanks for the cache and the amazing location.
A quick Park and grab before the real work begins. Still ot's of traffic passing by on this glorious day.

Out and about on a country caching trip, stopping for a few in the Yarra Valley as we drive through on a beautiful day.
We found this one to be a bit wet, logged our presence here and continued on to the next cache.

Log book bit damp.
Log book bit damp.
It was about 4 years ago that I walked right past this one, on my way up to Mt Ritchie to grab my very first FTFs. Back then I didn't have an "app" and I had no idea what a GPX file was. I had the cache pages of the 4 new ones printed out on paper and manually entered the co-ordinates into my GPSr.
Its funny how much you learn and pick up on the way. Parked nearby though I instantly recognized where I was. Its also strange how the human brain stores this kind of information and can retrieve it in a nano second when stimulated to by seeing the same thing, 4 years later.
Anyway, its certainly a awesome and memorable location.
We were going to replace the log, but on opening the cache, the log was certainly damp, but far from what I would call wet. Definitely still signable. I am not sure of what some people want from a log book, but if it's bone dry log books, out here, that's just not going to happen.

Cache has been emptied, dried out and back in place. Have left original log book as it is still fine.

Another quick find here, and another car on this deserted section of road. Thanks for bringing us along here... we loved the drive.
Out caching with friend craft26 and geofamilies.

Had a good time out caching with Naccas and families. Road was quite busy for a gravel road. Cache was quite wet.
Haven't been along the Acheron Way for a lot of years and that's a petty as it is a nice drive. Thanks Hi pressure.

This is an ideal park and grab although the GPS said one thing and the hint another. Finally got my p's & q's minded and found the little b**ger right where I was looking to begin with. Do I get the bike out and head up the track or go after an unloved multi? The multi won out but I will come back to this spot.
I found this one today while chasing ° down the road. I figured grab a few caches let him get a bit further in front will mean less dust. I have been lucky and seen the nearby road closure open but not today As i am chasing ° I decided id better only do the park and grabs. TFTH it's a great stretch of road.
Found @ 8:40am, find # 3192.
This was another great days caching out in the bush with Biggles1024, with a mix of transportation to get us to the various locations and GZ's. ( car, bike, foot ).
This is where we parked for the great bike leg, from Acheron River #1 to Mt Ritchie (Poley) Fire Tower.
With 3hours 43mins from finding the first one until the last one and last than 30 mins for the return run getting to a maximum speed of 54.7 km/h on the bike.
The co-ords seemed to be a bit out on this one as they had us looking on the other side of the road at the start, but thanks to the hint we were soon at the right spot and Mark picked up the cache.

Find #1137
Another trip to Warburton and beyond with my caching partner, Stemicmitsar. Our transportation varied from car to bikes to good old Shank's Pony. The day dawned with the promise of fine weather and it was fine for all but the briefest of periods.
This was the beginning of our assault on the caches that were the main focus of today's trip. Having lifted our bikes over the locked gates and squeezed our bodies though the gates, this cache was found, log signed and then we began our ascent.

Out on a rebellious day off work, a road trip and cache hunt was in order to clear the mind... or to confuse it.. even the GPSr was unsettled. A quick re-read of the hint and Zen was achieved. Thank you for bringing me here.. far from work... but not far enough TFTC!!

It was the kids first day back at school and since I was still on holidays I decided to go and try and find a few unloved caches (only needed 4 more to finish the unloved challenge cache) in some mountainous (kids don't like and can't be bothered) type terrain.
I took a 1 hr 20 min drive out here and parked the car and took the mostly uphill walk (which was good because it was always going to be easy coming back to the car) to the caches along this lovely road number 15.
It was also a rare cooler day in this current heatwave. It was only 9 degrees when I arrived in my shorts! The steep walks uphill soon warmed me up though.
This cache was 20m from where I parked so made a nice easy find while preparing for the walk and having something to eat.
Thanks for the cache, the exercise, the hunting and the fun.

Today's weather looked ideal for another run this time thru another area of the Warburton region. The target today was Mt Ritchie and a particular cache with a rare D/T combo for project 81. Started early (7am) being pick up by Ahomburg and after grabbing a much needed coffee and supplies in town we were ready to start the run. Today's run resulted in 22 finds and 2 years worth of unlovness. another epic run and big km's clocked on foot.
We had now arrived at Track 15 and before heading off up the track, found this one has it was not too far away. A nice hide and first of the series found so far. TFTC hi pressure

Found it on a bit of a caching run through the area to pick up a few caches and attempt to chase down (unsuccessfully...) an unloved cache. The river was really flowing through here but GZ was easily accessible.

#916 Last of 10 in an arvo's drive up to Narbethong and back along the Acheron Way on a beautiful Spring day. Having found our picnic spot and had a restful time there watching the fish jumping out of the water and enjoying the solitude, we moved on to here - still haven't seen any cars at all along this road today (in fact, for the 3 hours we spent on this road not 1 car was sighted). Somehow we managed to pick up some unwelcome hitchhikers - leeches!! Mrs laurenda was not amused at that! Thanks hi_pressure for making a pleasant drive even more enjoyable by picking up your caches. Today I set myself 2 missions:
- Find 12 Caches to get to the Magical 1000 finds on geocaching.com
- Place the last 5 caches in my new series (Out next week)
Mission Acoumplished
After finding the "Nearby" The Aqueduct Trail 4, I arrived at the turnoff to Mount Donna Buang and notest this one, unfortunately I did not realise it was quite a way away by road as averse to the way the crow flies, anyway, I parked nearby and was able to find the cache quite quickly. There were 2 Trackables in here, 1 coin and 1 Travel Bug. I took the travel bug with me. and replaced the cache.

Headed out tonight for another night caching run with my good mate and caching buddy Marshy (Blacklegend). Tonight we were in for a treat with some night caching into the hills around Marysville and Warburton. Thoroughly enjoyed the drive along the Acheron Rd, it was a long and challenging drive as it was quite rough and slippery at times. A great series of caches along a fantastic road, would recommend it to everyone. Nearly collected an owl as it swooped on a bug right in front of the car. Third of three of the series found. Thanks for the hide and bringing us to some great spots.

This was a nice weekend away with Mrs Iamapom to join a day trip from Narbethong to Rubicon with the Landrover Club and Pajero Club of Victoria. We were heading from Warburton to Narbethong along the lovely (although a bit foggy and spooky today) Acheron way. 1 of 3 - of the series completed today.

We went on a birthday caching trip today for JMelb and this one was fifth on the list and the 3rd river cache for us doing it the opposite way.
We had to decode the clue for this one as the GPS had us a bit all over the place and as with previous finders when the cache was found it was over 10m from GZ
However this did not take away from the most lovely drive we have done for a long time
As we said on our log for "Please take a photo" cache in Marysville - Such devastation - Such beauty in the re-growth!

This time around I had a reason to stop and enjoy the sounds of the forest in a place that few do stop

I've been trying to clear out the caches around Warburton (been trying for more than three years!) and it was this area's turn. The gps was a bit iffy so I resorted to the hint. I counted more than the hint said but in the end logic won out and the cache was found.

I haven't travelled along here for many years so it was refreshingly interesting. It's so nice to go geocaching in a new area.
My GPSr was again being uncooperative so had to use the clue (and my brain ). The area has had quite a bit of rain so I didn't appreciate standing in soft red wet soil up to my ankles in my sandals. Had to drive home with squishy mud between my toes ).
