A few days in Port Pirie with the muggle Mrs exploring the town and seeking out whatever hides I can.
All caches were is good condition unless stated otherwise.
We had noticed that this one had been disabled so while in the area we messaged the owner to ask if they wanted it replaced. With no answer prior to us visiting we took the liberty of replacing the hide. If the owner objects we can delete this log.

TFTC. Day 17 of honeymoon caching trip. Ride out yesterdays weather, now some nicer weather for caching around Crystal Brook & Pirie
Happy caching and safe travels!
Happy caching and safe travels!
Took a while, couldn’t see it but went feeling and managed to get it. Took a travel bug to further its journey. Tftc
Woke up to a chilly morning - hoping it’s going to warm up though. Another day exploring Port Pirie and surrounds with iluvtrekking. Easy to spot. Thanks FLIPPER&CO
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.
Tis definitely there, and not a nano or micro either..
Easy to spot for a geocacher... lol

Took us a little longer to find this one than expected.
It was a rainy day but we ended up finding it

Made it here on 8pm and thought why not. Geocaching is an acceptable excuse to be here after 8. The kids found the cache quickly and then as I was writing they shouted that there was another one! Reading the notes it looks like it was replaced, so now we have two caches in our hands. I moved the contents (including notebook) from the new cache to the old cache and replaced it in the original hiding spot which was a little more difficult. TNLN. Cheers.
Found on a trip to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie with Team Waldron for a few days. It rained steadily for the morning but gradually eased by mid afternoon. The aim for the weekend was to find as many caches as possible in the area which we accomplished with damp clothes, soggy shoes and a muddy car! Thanks for the cache FLIPPER&CO!
This was really cool I’ve lived here my whole life and never knew I could come into the aerodrome… ahah xx
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Spending 2 weeks in Port Pirie, today we attempted a couple some caches after lunch. such a beautiful day to be out and about exploring after the last few days.
There was a plane going through some start up checks whilst we were hunting for the cache. Cache all good here.

earthlight wanted a drive to Kadina for some geocaching and to place an adv lab there[^] and I sure wasn't saying no
We had a big day starting about 9am I dropped earthlight back at her home about midnight[|)][xx(][|)]
Believe it or not though, we never got to Kadina Port Wakefield got an adv lab instead[^]
On our way home, we had AMAZING fish and chips for tea in Port Pirie at the 'Church of Fish and Chips' run by Spirou Seafood and Salad[:X][^][:X][:X][^][:X] Delicious![:X][^][:X] You know the old 'Port Wakefield for a hamburger' drive[?] I think it's just become a 'Port Pirie for fish and chips drive'[^][^]
Once earthlight was home, Rex and I went to spend another hour or two at Hunting Ryan[?][^]
My total was 34 cache finds and only 2 DNFs so I was happy[^]
Some awesome sights seen[^], great back roads travelled (some more slippery than others especially after rain showers passed overhead) and Rex had a ball running some roads and chasing vermin out of cemeteries[^]
We saw lots of 'old schools or sites'[^], entered tiny townships and learned lots of history[^]
It was great to be out in the country and finding caches with good company[^] and as always, geocaches showed us things we never would have seen otherwise[^][:X][^]
Thank you to all of the CO's who gave us a reason to be out and about[^][:X][^]

TFTC! Next visitor if you can bring a better container please it would be appreciated.
With COVID19 in place the airport was dead this morning. We searched all over but nothing was obvious. Finally Davidwazza looked from the right angle and spotted the cache. The container needs replacing as it’s very brittle
After staying in Port Pirie last night, today Davidwazza and I set out to clean up port Pirie before making a long detour via Jamestown to gawler for an evening event. We had a few targets with a 2001 cache near Jamestown to collect and a few others. All up 68 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a quick overnight trip to Port Pirie. The plan was to geocache around the town, and then head across through to Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie in order to find a unique hidden month oldie cache nearby. We then joined the geocaching community at the Gawler dinner event.
Today, we got up early and spent the first half of the day travelling around Port Pirie. A few highlights were the views of the lead smelters, the historic main street, and wetlands. Once a bakery lunch was had, we headed east, and found a few geocaches in Gladstone, Caltowie, and Jamestown. We then left some time to visit Bundaleer Forest Reserve for the 05/2001 hidden cache, as that was my last remaining available South Australian Jasmer grid caches. We then drove the few hours south to the international geocaching dinner Gawler event, before heading home.
We swung by the airport, and after a few minutes looking in this structure, made the find. There appeared to be conflicting information between the hint and past logs looking front or back. Unfortunately, the cache container is cactus, with the container's plastic really brittle and cracking easily, but at least the logbook was in good shape. A CO visit is probably required here. Thanks FLIPPER&CO for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. There was no one about today here.

Out & about with geo hubby Animal62 collecting smiley faces as we go.
This airport is also where our 3 sons learned & passed their motorbike tests.
Thanks for bringing us to this location. The log was dated & signed then returned to its hiding spot

Got stuck into the new year today with Mr Froghoppin,
a nice drive and cache hunt on a cool rainy day!
A practically deserted airport. So much nicer than that big one in Adelaide!
Nice to see a Flipper cache, these are getting rarer.

A short stop for lunch here while our tour plane was being refueled allowed for a search for this cache. Appropriate hiding place. tftc
As we drove into the aerodrome, a commercial flight was just about to leave. We watched it taxi out to the runway and then headed towards and instantly recognisable object. We did a couple of circuits and quickly found the larger of the two caches - the throw down. We continued to search and after about another 5 minutes, we located the proper cache in a good hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Flipper&Co for the cache on a most interesting object.
Out with sir_spectre on our way to the JLWE. But of course you don't just come to an area for an event you also cache the entire way there. We may have wandered off the normal route but the scenery was great.
We may not have got big numbers but we did find some great caches and saw some amazing locations.
Thanks to FLIPPER&CO from mogni

Well we found a container at gz, it's stamped. I think it may have been a throw down. Had a quick look for the 2nd container but time was short. The local worker does know about the cache and pulled up and asked if we had found it yet.
Slowly heading in the direction direction of Quorn. Targeting multi's and any trad that is along the way. quick find.
found with mogni on route to Quorn for the June Long Weekend event, we have left a day early to grab some extra caches.

Found it. There’s an obvious container sitting in pretty much plain view. I’m pretty sure that someone’s replaced the original thinking it’s gone. Keep looking for a smaller container which is well hidden. That one is what you’re looking for.
Well this was a busy little place today with 3 planes coming and going including the Flying Doctors. A nice quick find while distracting the pilots. TFTC
