I will be checking on this cache within the next few weeks. If the cache is still there I will have it unarchived.
As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
obviously form the last note, dated 2 weeks ago that it needs to be off-line for a bit as nothing has been said since!
Hi Guy's,
Met up with PPE and had a look around GZ.
At this stage I can say that the cache is gone.
My son also knows where it should be so I have asked him to confirm my result.
So stay tuned and we will have a n answer by the end of the weekend.
Regards,
Steveishere

Searched for this with the current minder, Steveishere. No luck, this one has gone to meet a higher caching entity.
Thanks Steve for meeting me there.

Dang it, had a good streak for the afternoon. Must be staring us in the face but the GPS phone was all over. Hint was no help too.
Loads of refuse from muggles about too.

I'll have to add another DNF for this cache. After reading the previous logs, I might have been looking for something a bit different to what I should have been looking for. Will come back another day for another go.
I loved this one. Log is now well waterlogged. TFTC

I brought Team Lego Men with me today and since he'd DNFed this twice already, I figured he would already know where not to look! He did, only took a few seconds to find it once I stopped on top of it for him Tricky! But the hints are there if you read the info carefully. TFTC
We found this one after a DNF previously, the size of the cache was deceptive.

Third time lucky. Must have stood on it so many times before. Last visit I was convinced that it had been muggled based on all the tree house building activity around GZ. Today Blossom guided us to GZ and then I looked around and bingo.
Log a bit wet but still useable.

Second try lucky! Found with some fellow geocachers after attending the 3rd Annual Hills Geocaching Event =) TFTC! Love the container ;p
About the 4th visit here, but this time I had already guessed what I was looking for so would probably have found it. As it turned out I was in a post-event group and superslothsonya happened to approach from the right direction and spied it first. Very devious indeed, and very glad to have crossed this one off the list. Thanks AussieCacher.
Cache Hunt 279; GAFF1; Weather, Overcast/rainy; Helpers, Morgans2320, Richary, Superslothsonja; Cache condition, Damp. Find of the day, 2nd - STATUS - Found.
Another previously DNF'd cache. We pulled up here and SSS and I walked towards cache. As I stepped up on to a rock, SSS reached down and simply pulled out the cache. Here it is!! Did she say that, or am I just annoyed that I walked right over it So we all came together and SL, while chatting about the find and container. Nice one AC. Log was a little damp, but OK to sign. Morgans2320 took a group photo, we returned cache and decided which to do next. So make caches, only hours to do them. TFTC.

Found en masse with the HILLS EVENT CREW. Fun find as we have a similar cache. SL TFTC
We did not have any luck finding this one today after spending 30 minutes poking around, I suspect we were just not looking hard enough ?

Last of 7 for this hot humid day.
Ratbag 1's turn for a quick tricky find.
No trip wire seen, maybe we came in a different way to dkmacca
Cache and log very wet, dried it out as much as we could,
then placed it back wrong side up so hopefully it doesn't get too wet!!

Find this cache well hidden and the log book is very damp despite the double bagging of the logbook. Watch out for the trip wire, probably put there by some local kids playing war games. TFTC Aussie

Good one - like this style of ammo - nice bushland - the log sheet was wet and signed the log. Thanks AussieCacher.
Did we dare return?
We were in the area, after some new caches, so we figured we'd give this another go. This time it was easy. This time it was right where we were looking before, but the cache was exposed and I looked right at it. While it is meant to be in plain sight, clearly it was not meant to be that exposed, otherwise I would have seen it before, so I gave it a bit of camo, not too much, so that if you look carefully at it, you can still see the cache. I was just concerned as there are a lot of local children who play here. Anyway, it was a good feeling to finally log this one. Thanks

As we pulled up I saw a vacant park. Then all of a sudden, a dad with two kids in tricycles heading for the park. On the third try we had to nail it. On reaching the rocks, bikerbuddy gleefully exclaimed," Here it is". Thank god was my only thought- we don't have to come back here again! (no offence!) T (finally) FTC.
We finally found it on our very third attempt at the skilled eyes of Bikerbuddy, quietly and then not-so-quietly celebrating our great victory.
Well what an unexpected ammo tin! The last two times my eyes just ran over it!. But there it was, in plain sight! TFTC
Wanted to find another quick cache , but time was really not on my side. Had about 90 sec of quick searching, even with the hint, but I couldn't stay to continue, so DNF for me ;(
Fifth time was the charm today, dusk approaching, charleemonkey and I thought we'd tackle this one since its rebirth, took about 10-15 minutes to CIH. SL TFTC and finally cross this one off my list.
nice afternoon, hot on the heels of my FTF in the ponds, decided to hunt this one down with geo mate.. quick walk down a path, then veering off into the bush, we started the hunt... i started to think this would be another DNF for us until we checked the iphone logs and description.. VERY nice hide.. unless you're poking and proding you wont find this one... I actually managed to squeeze a geocoin into it! But i had to take the ninja home.. TFTC!!
What a clever little hide!
The cache was full of water when found, however the log was almost completely dry.
SL and returned cache to hidey hole up-side down so that water might not get into it again.
What and interesting area..hidden away from people who don't live here.

Ruffasgutts4x4 was kind enough to do some maintenance on the cache to keep it going for others to find. Thanks for your help. The cache is up and ready to go. Cache on.
Hi Aussie Cacher ruffasgutts4x4 here, I have carried out maintenance on this cache for you, a new log inside a new sealable bag and inside another sealable bag for extra dryness I even dried out the container entirely, placed back in it's hidey hole with a little camo.
Please if you find this cache and log a find * take some time to return the log the same way you found it!* That way it will stay dry for future finders. Thanks Cache on

Well cammoed but I was able to find the cache. With recent rain the log was soaked and I was unable to sign it.
Looked like the place had been recently trashed by bunch of crazy beavers with knowledge of how to lash logs with rope.

Not sure if this cache has been looked at since the last maintenance logs, but it looks like scouts or goodness knows who have been really practising their rope-knotting skills in this area O_O (see pics). Lot of the plants in the area have been trampled =( We had a good look for the cache around the large rocks at GZ, but didn't have any luck. Will try this one again later once CO checks up on it!
Yeah, finally, but oh my. What a sad state this little thing is in. The log is REALLY REALLY soaked and tears when written on.

This cache is very wet. I'll get it looked at soon. If anyone finds it and has a small clean new log, feel free to replace it.
After a consult with ruffasguts4x4 he informed me I should also log this as a find.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A quick walk across to this cache in between soccer, voting and soccer very busy day but we managed to find this cache after a second attempt. sorry but i did not log my DNF last time.
My 5yr old Geo boy found very fast we spotted the local kids and had to hide up the path way to try and attempt the sign.
This log bag needs replacing as well as the log.I managed to dry out and sign.
Great idea.

Took awhile but didn't give up, great hide but as pjmpjm said the log was so wet I could't sign it.
Again, after a word of advice from the CO, found on my third visit. This was a really tough one to locate -- and now I know why!
Published coordinates and clues were accurate. However, the cache 'container' was full of water and the little log book completely and utterly soaked.
I took everything back to the GeoBuru and dried it out with the car's heater. When I replaced it fifteen minutes later, all was quite dry and OK.
Lots of evidence that children and teenagers are playing around here. I even discovered a football, nearly on top of the cache!
No-one was at the site today when I visited, but I could hearing children yelling and playing not too far away.
Thanks to AussieCacher for another challenge!

Cache 'container' is likely to fill up with water again and log book 'baggie' is perforated . . .
This was my second visit to the 'Ammo Can' site and, unfortunately, my second DNF. I rolled up to GZ realising the cache in question wasn't a full-sized ammo can, and I modified by search accordingly. I took full note of the CO's clue as well.
There are signs that 'the rocks' are a gathering and/or playing spot for children or teenagers. I found a torn-up headphone from an iPhone, plus various bits and pieces of plastic, bottles, cans and other unidentifiable things.
However, the very thing I was searching for wasn't at all evident and I spent a good half hour carefully snooping about, trying not to further damage the site. Darkness fell while I was at GZ and I continued for a while with my little torch before calling it a day.
Am not sure what I'll do next. This is a tough one.

Add me to the DNF list. While there I met a group of local kids with metal detector. I asked them what they were searching for and they told me they were searching for metal. Was worried they might find the geocache. So I decided to them and explained what they should do if they found it - basically, leave it where you find it and don't trash it. I don't think they seemed too interested as it didn't sound like it was worth much.
We went for this today but we're recording a DNF for different reasons than the previous searchers. There was a bunch of kids playing right near GZ and they wouldn't go away. Then they got curious about us while we waited around nonchalantly, started asking questions and watching us. So we left without searching.
Indeed! Where in heck is this damn thing? I spent a good 25 minutes of careful searching -- in a spot where I think I got quite accurate GPSr coordinates, and found the COs "clue" -- but still no cigar! And certainly no ammo tin . . .
Having studied all the past online logs before today's foray to the cluster of Rouse Hill caches, my theory was that the cache was contained inside a log or rock or some other object, but that didn't seem to be the case. I sure did study logs and rocks of sufficient size to conceal 7.65mm munitions. I also looked up in the trees. As always, I did my best to care for the environment, but I could see signs of either youthful muggle activity or strenuous geocacher searching at and around GZ. Perhaps both had contributed to some minor dishevelment of the area -- but nothing too serious.
Neverthless, the fact that GZ is very close to pathways and roadways, and situated in reasonably open terrain, makes me worry that the cache may not be here. I know we always think that when admitting to a DNF . . .
We're all aware of AussieCacher's extensive international caching experience, and know that this one is 'unusual' in some way, and I certainly didn't expect to find an ammo box tucked under a rock in the usual 'rocky hide' scenario.
But how many places can you hide an ammo can? No cache size is given by the CO, so perhaps this isn't a normal-sized ammo can . . . Could he have brought a special 'nano ammo can' into the country from the US, just to torment us? It's a mystery to me!
Well, I'll be back in this area again in the next couple of weeks and will try once more.
Thanks to AussieCacher for keeping the old brain cells active . . .

I have a new log and cache container on it's way. It should be installed shortly. That will fix the wet log.

I'll replace the cache in a few weeks. I just have to get a new one that's still water proof.
Was definately not expecting it to be like this. First cache like this I have found. Nice little hide. TFTC SL
Requires new log as bag has been ripped open allowing water to completely drench the log. Signed as best as I could.
As Chip has said there is a similar cache back home in Wollongong, so we kind of had the answer before we knew the question. This one badly needs a new log book, Chip squeezed as much water as she could out of the current one.

Hoojar and I were also guessed what this cache container would be as we have seen one like this back in our home area.
The cache was found pretty quickly while the closes house occupants were having a domestic out the front about tangled Christmas lights.
The cache is in dire need of maintenance. It was so wet that we could actually squeeze out the log book. We were able to write in it but I don't know if it was on the right page as they were all stuck together.
Cheers.

So absolutely not what I was sure we were looking for, but loved it nonetheless!!! There was a log in here, and a bag filled with a yummy log/water mush, which we removed in order to protect the other, more paper-like log book... not sure if you want the mush back, but if so, drop us a line AussieCacher.
Thanks for another great cache. I had a picture in my head of what I was looking for but I should have realised life is not always as it seems. Thanks again
found a couple of these before ! cool cache but the lid does not clip up ! Thanx

I had a feeling I knew what we were looking for and we were not disappointed. The last time I found one of these I was chased out of a Brisbane lane by a madman wielding a wok but that is another story...

Took a while to catch on to the clue here! Jonathon Swift would like this cache!
The log was wet, so I added a makeshift log from the bottom of my cache notes, (try that with your paperless caches, haha!) and wrapped it in a muesli bar wrapper!
Clever hide from a clever hider yet again....thanks for the hunt!

The description actually threw me off this one for a while, but I kept looking. I found a spot that looked like it would have held an ammo can but was now empty... but I wasn't convinced that was it. Luckily as I found it a couple of minutes later .
The cache was unfortunately wet . I emptied the water out of it and dried out the contents as best I could. Log book was still quite usuable. TFTC
