Had a really good look for this one. GPS was spot on a suitable structure, but we looked all around and under, in all the nooks and crannies, but no luck. Think this one has gone walkabout.
Only one place to look but no cache it seems. Despite a party going on at a nearby balcony, we had a good look under the table but left empty handed. Not sure it's there anymore, sorry glyn.
Searched for ages for this, before interrupted by family coming to eat their fish and chips nearby. Pretty sure it wasn't there.
Made a very discreet find. Had a very good idea where it was and just reached behind me and grabbed it. Cheers
What a fantastic beach - great to be here. Coordinates were spot on, neatly hidden to avoid suspicion. The surf looks great ... now for a swim
lovely walk up the beach to find this one. the littlest barkingmadnz spied this one in a microsecond - no pun intended , TFTC.
a quick dash , and an easy find, then quickly back to the car, before the rain sets in
Surf was definitely up today nice 7ft swells and lots of surfggles around about. T4T$SL #41
We really enjoyed the caches in your town on this wonderful sunny day.
Cheers

Was concerned about this - just because of its title and the one of the same name in Auckland which was a bit of a challenge! But no worries. t4tc
The surf school was in progress nearby, so we had to buy an ice cream so as not to look out of place.
We had to give this one away. It was right in the middle of a surf competition.
Quick and easy find.. We nearly came back to eat our fish and chips here, but the Spa Bath at the Motel won the competition .. Thanks for showing us this spot..
We looked and did not see, and then there it was. TFTC DNCBURRHEAD AND HOT HABENERO
Quick find at GZ. Had to use plenty of stealth as there was a Billabong surfing event here today and muggles were everywhere. TFTC
easy find.. sorry didn't replace plastoc bag got to car and found it still in hand.. by then muggles at GZ settled for a time it looked ..
Was here last year hunting for this one, but had no luck because we were at the wrong place...
Better luck this time, even though we still needed the clue!
Thanks

Thanks
Great location for a cache in one of the prime coastal spots. Lovely January summers day when we were there on holiday.
Quietly attempting our discrete search when three police cars pulled up and the police head our way . Did we see anything (no we thought we're still looking) no we've just arrived we said. Apparenty there had been a "rumble" so after completing the business at hand we stayed on to watch the proceedings that were all being filmed. Dozens of beer confiscated (Police New Year Party perhaps?). Nice to know that they are out in force and protecting our beaches and perhaps even our caches Thanks for the entertainment T4TC.
The Freezer Mice strike again!!!
Back in town for the christmas break, so grabbed the chance this morning to whip out and find this cache before the maddening crowds gathered for the day.
Easy find, and even no muggles to worry about.
Moving along clarkscoin GC.

We were looking forward for the world famous surf in Whatamata. We had already test the wetsuits previously and than this: no waves and rain! Bloody hell!
Sorry.

Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 650. Thanks.
We were in New Zealand for a month, to get to know this wonderful country and its nice people, and of course to do some caching. Since we couldn't connect to the internet very often or very long, we didn't log our finds. Being back in Germany, I have to admit that I can't remember all the caches we found. So some of them will just get a "we found it" log entry - this is one of them. But I will at least write a few general words about our caching experience in NZ.
As we searched only for traditionals (and sometimes earth caches) with a reasonable terrain rating, we found most of them quite easily. Especially because a lot of larger containers were used. 'Larger' in this context means small or regular - as we are usually more the urban kind of cacher, we're more used to micros. What we're not so much used to is caches being hidden in or under bushes or trees. Being a little bit what I would call 'botanically challenged' we would find this quite difficult even back here, were we could know the plants. In NZ with its plants we've never heard about, we were really lost in the beginning. But after some time we were able to distinguish between flax and cabbage tree, and we even finally managed to find out what a punga is (seriously).
As always, caching brought us to a lot of interesting and beautiful caches we wouldn't have found otherwise. So many thanks to all you cache-hiding kiwis!

The Hot "Pools" at Hot Water Beach yesterday and Cathedral Cove today made us to tired by now that we had to rest at Whangamata for a while. We parked the campervan at Esplandade Dr, which was completely deserted and we visited the beach that we had for ourselves. Before we went to sleep for an hour in the afternoon (we were so incredible tired!) we found the cache. Thank Godness! The cache was easy enough to find for such tired cachers as we were.
TFTC #585 (my 43rd cache with lemonCurd in New Zealand ).
Many greetings from Hamburg, Germany.

The water was *COMPLETELY* flat.
Had to do a couple of laps of GZ before I managed to locate it. Last one before breakfast.

A quick and easy find.
Hardly any surf today, only one lonely surfer out there waiting for the perfect wave.

Surf was looking great today, my looking not too good though till I decided I might have to read the cache notes to find this one, a-ha, must be over there, and it was.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
Came armed with a flat white, but on one around on this lovely morning. Thought it was a better spot than the previous cache. TFTC

Another nice spot, but busy, busy, busy - looks like there had been an event on and a crew was packing up. The dogs were a great source of distraction and we used them to our best advantage.
