Hi there Reviewer,
RE: The cache "Ol' Smokey"
I'm following up on my "Needs Maintenance" log which is now well over 28 days old.
There has been no action by the CO or chrispy89. The cache still looks like it has been abandoned and perhaps needs to go.
Regards
Ian & Penny

Hi there howie_sf,
RE: Your cache **"Ol' Smokey"**
We looked for your cache today, but as there's so many DNf's here already we didn't see any point in adding another.
Could you please do a maintenance run to confirm if it is still there - - and perhaps replace (or archive) it if it isn't.
Regards
Ian & Penny

Another one that we had a good search for but turned up empty handed. Hard to believe there have been 2 DNF's with so many cachers been in the area. Maybe just very well hiden or like many others in town gone walkabout. Needs a check from CO.
lahierra and I are on a trip through Australia to visit this wide and varied country. Geocaching always helps us to find the most interesting places. Arriving in Petersbrough, there was a village party near the GZ. Lucky the cache was hidden at "not town side" of Ol' Smokey. This made it easier to search with all the people around, and we could it find quickly.

Found while in Peterborough for History SA's Making History event. Tricky find, but History Cacher nabbed it.
Late log from June
Easy find, taking a group of local and international TB's and Geocoins on 'The Great Road Trip around Australia.'
Thanks for the cache

I had never been to this location an we really enjoyed our time here. We stopped for a drink and something to eat and the geo boy could not help himself but be all over this great train. As the kiddies climbed, I was able to make the find on this one. Signed and replaced as found.
**Thanks for placing this trad cache howie sf** [^]
**Cache container and log in good condition**

Too many possible spots where it could be hidden, so we gave up very quickly and can't really be bothered with these.
After arriving in town, cheking out the rail museum for times, doing the washing, and parking the van, we got to go for a walk into town, this was the third cache on our route.
Not another train!!!!! We started the search, but fellow grey nomads wanderd though the area, so we stopped to chat, 1/2 an hour later decided to continue our happy back at the caravan.
Might try again tomorrow.

Love this old engine. It certainly has traveled some miles. After a short search, we found it and signed log. TFTC
Lots of muggles around today. Searched where the GPS told us too as sneakily as we could but no luck!
You have to be lucky sometimes /// Laid my hands on it straight away! Thanks for the hide!!
Had a bit of a search and found the cache, then had to remember where it came from in order to put it back.
Then forgot to log it until passing back through town a couple of weeks later.
We had to concede defeat with this one - should have gone to SpecSavers first
Away in Peterborough for a caching weekend with the SnappyomCats and we stopped to grab this one.

Up from the Barossa for the weekend with the travellinbees for a fun weekend of caching. After settling in at the Motel we headed out to do a few before dinner. ANOTHER Train!!! This is our 3rd today although BOB wasn't technically on the train, it was next to one. Thankfully this didn't take as long as the first! TFTC
Catching up on a few late logs (something not that unusual for me). As always, I enjoyed the journey to find the cache, mostly I have been in the company of Team Crackers, maccamob, alansee and the Coffee's, but occasionally I have gone out solo to soak in the solitude of being out in the fresh air.
Thanks howie_sf for placing this cache.

Searched for a while but it was a bit too much of the famous needle in the haystack.
After finding two others today, we didn't look for too long, although there was 5 of us searching. Must b a hard one to licate
Wow talk about a needle in a hay stack!! Really don't like trains & nanos combined.

Out and about with &0thers while on our way to Burra for the night. Should have saved time and dirt. Nice little town
4585 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1200. With one DNF back in 2009 we weren't real sure of finding the container this time. Looked for some time, went and got the torch and there it was. The gravel was a bit rough on the knees. SL Tnx howie sf
Didn't find it

Came away without my caching torch so went and bought one today and it certainly lit up the cache. I took a step beyond and reached in and there bit was. Thanks. Gave it a favourite. A small cache on a big train is a great find.
Spent much too long on this one. Looked in every likely spot or hole but no luck today.
We fully concur with Freddo re nano's on trains.
Cheers,
Lead 'n Lace.

Stopped here for picnic lunch and visit to the market with JJ52. Decided to do a few more caches - nearly gave up on this one but got it! Thanks howie
Driving around doing all things touristy and stopped off here to have a picnic lunch.
Don't usually have much luck with trains but after looking in a few places we came across another hidey hole that just happened to be home to the cache. That was much better than it could have been. [?]
Thanks for the cache howie_sf.

Our record with these types of hides is appalling at best and we had already bypassed another similar cache earlier on our walk around town as several logs stated that it was dirty, greasy work lookng for the hide. However by the time we got to this one we had just about finished our walk and decided at the last minute to give it a quick try as it wouldn't matter too much if we got a bit grubby.
However we were amazed that Geohubby managed to spot it almost instantly....wow....love it when that happens.....just wish it happened more often
Many thanks for the hide howie sf[^][^][^]

Found this one while on our stay in Peterborough for a few days last month - sorry about the late log.
Travelling to Stanthorpe for the mega event via Orroroo, Peterborough, Broken Hill, Cobar, Lightning Ridge. Great to find this well hidden cache and showing us more of the area. Thanks to howie_sf.
After failing at this one yesterday, read back through a couple of years worth of logs to get some tips and this morning found it in the first hidey hole I reached into! Very windy this morning so as soon as I opened the container, the log blew out and away and I had to run to retrieve it! That would have been a classic to have found the cache and lost the logbook, especially as it's such a lovely work of art. Cache #2105.
DNF - 30th October 2014
So many great hiding spots to search. Trains.... Arghhh!

I used to play on a train a lot like this in a play ground near where we lived, but since I started caching I have learned to look at trains with much trepidation due to the number of hiding spots they present. Thankfully this one wasn't too bad and we were soon on our way. Cheers. MODU.
Some times these can be a bit hard, but after 5 minutes had it in hand. Thanks for the info.
Had this one in hand in under two minutes. How lucky was that? Loved the log book - haven't come across one of these for a while. There were workmen near by but we parked the campervan strategically to cover our activities. Thanks.
We gave it a good shot but were hampered by muggles working nearby and watching us like hawks. So we retired defeated. Second DNF for the day and I feel dispirited. But it is what it is.
Usually it takes ages to find caches on these old machines, but this time I had it in hand in no time. A pleasant surprise, thank you.
Tftc. Travelling through to the Eyre. Stopped for fruit and veg and just had to get this one.
Fantastic ok train . Thought it might've been difficult but it wasn't . Thanks for the hide.
Been many times but today success due to super sleuths Max and Jana. Not as hard as we thought but small hands help.
Tricky find, took us 15 minutes and a few spoilers to find. Thanks for such a great cache!
1:04:00 PM, GAFF1, We pulled up here for luch today, a nice quick find.

After a while looking and feeling out came the camera. A section i had looked at twice before showed it secret. Took Nothing Left nothing. Slgned Log. Then off to steam town rail museum for tour then lunch.
I was a bit worried about this one when I saw GZ.
Fortunately I found it quite quickly. TFTC.
