Spent a good 20minutes looking for this one. Got down here without too much hassle. But we weren't able to find the cache. Searched under the rocks, under a small ledge covered by some grassy trees. As the tide was up very high, it narrowed the search. I honestly don't see where you could put this where it won't get washed away in a storm. Is it still here?
After DNF'ing the cache at the light house we decided to take the T4 approach and attack this cache straight from up there. It's very steep and there is a cliff but it is quite possible to climb down without any troubles. Turns out this would have been the only approach possible as the tide was very high and rough blocking off that option.
This is a beautiful spot but after looking around in all the possible spots we came up with nothing. It must be very well hidden. Wrecked after two DNF's in a row this morning we made our way back up to where we parked the car.
Not sure how these two caches got published as they are only 50m apart?
Thanks

23/01/14. 5:15 PM. Cache #1260. 3rd of 4 caches on cycle trip for Yelyac & I from our holiday unit in Shoal Bay heading towards Nelson Bay. We found a lot of caches in the area when we were here with friends in 2012; now we were looking for some that we'd missed last time.
Up the top at the lighthouse; we'd started heading for this one until I reread it and we'd realised our mistake. So we found "Inner Light" up there, then rode down to the caravan park. No easy access to the beach so we left the caravan park and rode around it, through the nice little park. Hid our bikes in some bushes, then proceeded on foot to the NW end of the beach, around the corner to the rocks and a short scramble to the cache. Easy going at this tide, definitely not a T4. TFTC }:)

Nice find with Ccc7, fun little approach to cache where we started searching. Chris eventually uncovered the cache. Really loved the terrain of this one, fun to find a challenging cache. Dropped TB.

60/75 summer blitz
The adventure started at 1000, when we picked up Patches108. After an hour drive, we headed to the lighthouse and grabbed a few caches. "Shipwreck" was a highlight, hopping over the rocks and holding our pants up so they didn't get wet! We searched high and slow for a good 15minutes before i revealed the cache. We then began the walk along the powertrail.

Would have been nice to bring up my 500 with this but not to be, 499. Determined to finish my time on the bay with one more and this looked like a challenge so set out early. Got to GZ easily enough, now to find the cache. Looked in all the obvious spots with no success. About to go, one final look, and we have a cache! Very well hidden. The challenge with this isn't just getting here, it's then finding the cache. Great spot. Well done. It's a fave from me. TFTC.
Not found, to many spots but to less time for a longer search. The tide was high and so the way to the box was a more than interessting.

Accompanied Pprass on their "Clean out Port Stephens....Again!" campaign. Bettyboo and I were along for the ride. A nice tour of the southern section of the Port, on a lovely sunny day.
After a DNF upstairs we came down to the waterline. Walked as far around as the tide allowed us then shed shoes and pants to wade the rest of the way to GZ. Great view across the water.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 4409. Didn't want a second DNF so early in the day so we had to continue the search after a watery stroll. Good to put a smilie on this one. TFTC.
After waking up early this morning I decided to go after this cache. That was a really nice walk in the morning sun and climbing around the stones was fun. Still, I looked more than 20 min for the cache before I found it. Afterward I rewarded myself by swimming in the bay. Thanks for hiding
After 3 visits to the area we have finally done this one. After a short swim & climb we found the cache. To celebrate this find we left a Pink Ribbon trackable in honour of everyone who has been affected by this cancer us included. TFTC
This one was a great hide. Muggles kept passing us on the rocks, so we had to pick our time to grab and hide the cache carefully. TFTC
Loved the trek, stripped to my undies. He stayed clothed and shod and climbed high. Despite the fun we could not find. Very disappointed . We will have to return.
Over from Perth for a family reunion. I also did a PQ from Sydney to Nelson bay, where we stayed for 3 days. A few muggle rellies were interested in what caching involved, so we all went to make the find. it was one of them that made the find.
Such a beautiful area here.

Found with Geoson No 2 and lots of geo friends. Great rock hopping at high tide, easy find once we made GZ. BTW, I lost my car key somewhere on the way so of you find it please let me know!!!
This was a fun scramble. Found with friend as we enjoyed a cache hunt of this lovley area. SL..TFTC
This was a little bit scary, bush bashed all the way down. Name are in the log : ). TFTC
Mate we would have liked to have come down here to find this but your mate at the top of the hill let us all down.
What a waste of time getting up there only to find out that you are not able to get to GZ.
Sorry but we could not get down here.

Yay, came back today just after low tide for a quick and painless find. Our geoniece reached in for the find. TFTC
Drizzly light rain today, Great enjoyed around of Port Stephens caches... Nice easy stroll to GZ, easy to find as well thanks
Reaching GZ really was fun. As we did not want to get wet we decided to do some rock climbing. The container was really well hidden but we have found it.
With the east coast low soon to arrive I decided I should attempt this one before all hell broke loose. Had fun accessing gz from the east at high tide. Gets a favourite from me for an interesting spot I would never had gone to and also for the wet feet I got. Tnln.
Came up to Port Stephens to get our tally to 1000 in our first year. This is number 979. This one was a little tricky and took a while to find. While Mrs c was searching I stepped on a gently sloping rock which had a some sand on it and my feet slipped right out from under me and sent my crashing down backwards onto the rocks. It took me by complete surprise but I managed to break my fall by putting my hands behind me. Ended up with a bit of bark missing and a sore spot in my lower back but otherwise ok. I got off lightly. Thanks for a memorable cache MADSTARS

I found this with PheasantPluckers, he was turning over rocks when I found the container and said 'Is this it?' [^] My second geocache! I enjoyed the adventure across the rocks. Thanks for the cache!
Found by my nieces keen eyes after I spent 10 minutes hunting all over. No trackables here though, was hopijg to shift the underwater geocoin to another beachside location in qld. Oh well, thanks for the adventure and the cache. Tnlnsl.
We ventured toward Nelson Bay with DiMorgan for a good day of caching. The weather was overcast but quite pleasant. We had a list of caches to wanted to find and this was one of them. This is such a scenic part of the coast which makes caching most enjoyable. Bill and Bruce did the walk to gz while Di and I enjoyed the beach. This one gets a fav point.
Thanks to MADSTARS.

We have spent the day geocaching with Liz & Bruce. Headed to beautiful Nelsons Bay where we saw
wonderful beaches, sand dunes & crystal blue water. Found many caches along paths & trails. A very successfull day of caching.
Bill & Bruce did the rock hopping as the tide was right today.
Picked up A TB

I had this cache on the top of my to-do list whilst holidaying near Little Beach. I carefully chose a time of attack mid way between low and high tides so the journey would *hopefully* be neither too easy or too hard. This thing I wasn't sure of however, was which side to approach from. I wanted to end up back at Little Beach, so made the decision to approach from Shoal Bay Beach and hope for the best. My Dad decided to join me on the this adventure and it turned out to be a great walk.
Shoal Bay Beach was in all its glory on this beautiful day and the walk in to GZ was great... relatively easy with some minor rock hopping required and spectacular views. Once at GZ, I honed in on the cache quite easily following the very accurate co-ordinates. I signed the log and then we spent a moment here taking in the view before continuing the trek in an attempt to beat the incoming tide. Departure from GZ heading towards Little Beach did require careful timing between swells to ensure we only got slightly wet, rather than completely drenched. I think my timing was slightly off, but I still managed to keep the phone above water! As Little Beach drew nearer, the journey became easier and we were soon safely out the other side.
This cache lived up to my expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed the mini-adventure. Thanks Madstars and take a favourite point from me.

Because we had not much time, we decided to do this one as our only one in Nelson bay. very nice place, thank you for that! We didn't get wet, seems it was the right time to get to gz. At gz we searched for quite a while, wondering what "Barny rubble" means....but finally we found it by just asking ourselves where WE would hide a cache. TFTC.
I was promised an adventure cache and boy did I get one! Not taking the time read the description, I set out for the cache with the tide coming in fast. Needless to say, I was required to do a good bit of rockclimbing and also got a little wet. Viewed sunset over the bay from the GZ. It was magnificent!
Must have been low tide as this was not worthy of the terrain rating today. A most enjoyable walk and the geodog loved the water. It wasnt easy either, there are not too many possibilities but finding anything was a challenge. TFTC
Found this lovely spot - friend from Neath has never been here before!! Could just see ourselves shipwrecked on this rocky area. Took a while but kept thinking back to the hint. TYFC
This cache could also have been called As Good As It Gets .. what a perfect location. TFTC Madstars.
Muggles to the left and right - stealth required. Excellent location. Thanks

Lovely spot! Found with Lodessa on evening stroll from Shoal Bay after day on Stockton Beach. Good rubble
One of our favourites. Really great walk. Lived here forever and had never done this walk. Geo-kids got soaked, and loved the fairy penguin that swam all round their feet!
Browngang and I parked the ute at the end of the track and then walked to the cache. We were thinking that this could have been a hard one due to the terrain rating but in the end found the cache very easily. This is a very nice place for a cache. Many thanks
We came down the sand track along the bottom and were confronted with a camper at the end, about 250m away, so drove back up the top to see if we could get closer. After getting the cache up the top and looking over, "no way", we headed back down and the tent was at the end of the track so off we set. Soon after Blackie-71 had the cache in hand, but the way we found it the terrain was a bit over rated. Maybe back to about 2.5 as we found it.
Cheers from Browngang

I got to the vicinity today in horrible weather. After a bit of tentative rock hopping with unsuitable shoes and an umbrella (!) I decided to come back later. Not really a DNF, more a recon and I'll be back...
Nice walk and from the logs we were lucky to catch mid tide and did not get wet.Good easy find with not many muggles in this area.
Away on holidays....our 19th find...wish we had of come at high tide would have been lots of fun....but this one was one of our favourites on our trip by far....just loved this cache!!!! Thanks for bringing us here....T4TC....
A great spot to hide a cache. Met Morky70 at GZ and a joint find! Excellent to meet fellow cachers and share the game. TFTC

Reperio at 1250.
I remember looking at this one earlier this year when I stopped by 'Inner Light', but wasn't sure how long it would take to walk around to the bottom, so we left it for another day. Well today was that day, and once on the beach, the walk to GZ was much easier than expected. There were a few muggles nearby GZ, but the area where the cache was located was just tucked out of their sight. Great little spot for a cache, and now know another good spot to come and relax by the water.

With Ky ordering lunch Mr CDM261 and I thought we might have time to nab another find before the food was ready. So we scrambled around the point scalling the rockface as we went due to the tides. Arrived at GZ to an easy find and an awesome location. A quick climb back the way we came revealed we were late for lunch; turns out there wasnt enough time after all. Loved everything about this one. Dropped off a TB we brought across with us from NZ. TFTC.
We felt a bit like we were cheating because the tide was so low...but a brainfart on Tom's part left him with a very wet shoe. Adventure! Thanks!
What a great way to start the day. A walk around to Shoal Bay and then back home along the waterfront. Tide was fairly low so getting there wasn't too tough. Wouldn't like to be trying it at high tide or at night.
A great spot. Loved the interesting rocks in the area, some beautiful colours. Thanks for the challenge Madstars.
