When locking in the hike to the top of Mt Juliet yesterday we figured we wouldn’t make the Ballarat events today. However finishing in a better state than first expected, a road trip was back on the cards!
This was well and truly the final find for the day. I made a dash across the trees to GZ and soon found the cache. The lid was cracked and the log is very wet. This one could do with a CO visit.
Thanks Kinkell1 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Fairly easy find. First for the day on our geocaching adventure. Managed to con Me 17 and Mr 19 year olds to come with. Lid is cracked and water getting in

We dragged two of the geokids out for a day of caching, on the pretext that we'd end up at Ballarat and have pancakes. This was the first stop along the way.
As such, SueHut pulled me aside and quietly said "let the boys find the cache", to encourage them into the game abit. She then promptly found it herself.
Thanks heaps, Kinkell1 and Suss Vulture!

A couple of nights away camping to celebrate our wedding anniversary was the plan, and we decided to camp near Ballan. There were a few caches left along this road that we hadn't found, so we decided to change them into smileys.
After camping nearby, we decided to drive to Daylesford before heading to Ballarat for Mr Dromaniax's brother's fiftieth birthday celebrations.
An unusual place to hide a cache, but there was plenty of space to pull off the road and park safely, even in our geomobile A'Tuin.
After a couple of DNFs, we were concerned the cache may have gone missing, but on arrival at GZ, a quick find was made.
The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache, Kinkell1 and to suss vulture for maintaining and being the guardian.

Found a nice spot where a cache could have been but no cache unless we missed it
Not found for 5 months. Very overgrown and debris everywhere. If it’s still there it may pay to add a hint.

I was on my way to a CC event in Avoca and made a short detour to find this one.
It was a mighty chilly morning so I was lucky that it didn’t take long to find.
**Thanks to Kinkell1 for placing this cache.**

On the way to Ballarat today for a day visit and weather is looking to be excellent. Hunting down certain combos on the way and this one is on the rarer side. Nice and quick. Good start, 1st one for the day so far.

A very pleasant summer’s day to be out and about prior to some upcoming minor surgery.
Parked at the nearest spot but as we were heading home after this one of course this was on the on-ramp and heading the wrong way. Oh well!

We had an excellent reason to be in the area today and found that it was the perfect time to pull over and look for the cache. The co-ords are spot on and the cache is in good condition. SL TFTC
First cache stop as we head out on the road for a well earned break , this one surprisingly survived the tree falling over , we replaced with some added cover and also left some Dirty swag , which has been since taken already

We headed up to Ballarat to meet up with GurTheWanderer. He had invited us to attempt a rather difficult cache which involved wading.
With all 3 geo kids on board, we made the journey up, a 1 hour 45 min drive from home.
There wasn’t much to stop at on the highway so when I saw this one, I pulled off onto the ramp and parked the car safely near the GZ.
Only 2 of the 3 kids were interested in getting out of the car. It was drizzling and cold outside. We made our way through the long grass and make a relatively quick find.
There were a few trinkets inside but the kids weren’t interested in them. So we signed the log and continued on our way.
Cache and log in good condition.
There wasn’t much to see here but the pine tree looked like it had either already bloomed or was beginning to.
Thank you for the cache here Kinkell1

another day on way to Melbourne for a nieces wedding. Found but hint was good but tree has fallen over having a sleep now but still found the cache TFTC
Cache found to be all in good order. Took me abit longer than expected. I think my GPS was off a bit but no worries all in good. Thanks for the cache!
A short detour, a long stop, we had lunch here in pouring rain, just after finding the cache, Thanks for the hide Kinkell1, it is in good condition
Finally on the third attempt with some help from SciFiRulz we had the cache in hand. Nice one too. TFTC
Found with MazzyMay on a caching day. Don't know about the hint, I would have called our tree a log as it was lying down. TFTC
Found with Beaker on our way home from a night away in Melbourne for a rock concert. Thanks
Quick find this morning to start the days' caching off. Saw a concert last night in Melbourne and now making our way home.

Heading towards Ballan for the birthday event and I was taking the scenic route to get there.
Found somewhere to park and I followed the wheel marks in through the grass to get to GZ.
Searched in a couple of spots then soon had the log signed.
Thanks Kinkell1 TFTC.

Looked at ever hint for 15m around. Nada!
Read some logs, one of which said to look under horizontal logs... Nada after another 10 mins!

I was out and about today with Bushfire chasing down some earthcaches for International Earthcache Day. It was quite hot today and the perfect weather for geocaching. We both come from Geelong and we were driving up past Daylesford so it was quite a drive to get to the caches that we wanted to attempt. We found a few TBs along the way and we can put some extra km on them by taking them back to Geelong. I had a new GPS device to test out today so I was really excited to see it's capabilities. Bushfire's $800 GPS overshadowed mine a bit but at least I don't have to use my phone anymore!
We passed by this one accidentally on our way to Daylesford, but we picked it up on the way back. TFTC

Today we set off with a plan to do as many caches as possible to try and reach our 200 finds. This was our 13th find we found this cache at 12:06am on the 30/09/18
First cache of 15 on the list for my trip to and back to Crowlands today. Will see how many I actually manage to find. The ground was a bit muddy so lucky I’ve got my work boots on. Took nothing left nothing, just a signed log. TFTC
We're on our way from Lara to Maryborough and took the opportunity to grab this cache since, for a change, we're not in a rush. My crappy iPhone GPS had me walking in circles for a bit but eventually I zeroed in the the spot. Thanks
Been past this so many times but were not on the highway today so stopped for the quick easy find. Thanks for the cache.

With a relatively quiet calendar ahead, I’ve chosen May for my multi month.
Decided to head out of town today with Papi4506 & Geoturtle37.
A quick find before returning to the highway.
Cheers Kinkell1

I was out tonight catching a few smileys with Ausfox; this one was one that I have driven past so many times but have always been heading home after a long day or heading out on a mission. Tonight was the perfect night to stop and have a hunt for this little guy. Especially considering that Ausfox; had already found it in the past. Unfortunately it was so long ago that Ausfox;'s memory was sketchy so it was it was like a fresh find all over again for him.
After a short search it was Ausfox that spotted our prize and my name was able to be added to the log.
Thank you the the caretakers keeping this one alive for Kinkell1

Huzzah! Found it at last! Thanks for this cache Kinkell1. It's in good condition and is dry as a chip inside with plenty of space left in the log. TN LN SL. After visiting this grove several times as DNFs I found the cache on this lovely warm, sunshiney morning on the way home from placing two caches in Ballarat. Sorry, but the clue was of no use. Future cachers can ignore it. The "base of a tree" is really a horizontal log.
This one was had a couple if short detours the first was a detour from where i was ment to be going and the second detour was around a snake sunning its self on my way back to the car.

I had looked at this on the map and thought no way. But today pulled up short and realised there was indeed a way. Proceeded on foot and soon had the log signed TFTC Kinkell1
TFTC. We came to Ballan today to attend the Birthday Bash at the park. While there we thought we may as well attempt a few caches around town. We stopped here on the way out of Ballan. It was not as quick as I would have liked. Got there in the end.
TFTC!
That took way longer then it should have.
Found with Shellumbus on our Christmas Adventure.

Didn't find it again! This is turning into my Nemisis! I did find the headless rosella!
This was a short detour, but I made an ear-piercing scream when I stumbled upon a headless rosella nearby - yikes! TFTC
We looked for a while and we were about to give up (we looked pretty strange walking around ) when we stumbled upon it, half covered in dirt. If you are patient this one is a real gem! Well done!
travelling back from the airport and thought we'd make a couple stops on the way. Third find and another nice easy one. 200th find tftc
Omgosh... I was seconds away to giving up, when my determination kicked in.... it was in a place I had already looked, but obviously not thoroughly. Darn cold here this morning. 2 degrees when I left home, on my way to Ballarat for work. Grass still wet, and has certainly left my shoes wet, and now my toes will need to dry out under the heater in the car!

Our only DNF of the day during our road trip from Melbourne to Sandon. We tried looking for it at 12:24 PM, parked well away from the highway and spent a few minutes looking in the area of the GZ. However, the Geokids were starting to get hungry and did not want to look any longer - so off we went back empty handed. Maybe, we'll try again the next time we head out of the city in this direction.
I think i looked at the base of every tree here and thought my radar had me pretty close to the right spot but i just couldn't find this one. The last log was a DNF so i was thinking this one may have fallen victim to muggling. I was just about to pull the pin but there was a small area i just hadn't got close enough to and upon closer inspection this well hidden cache revealed itself at last. Gps had me 0.3m away from GZ...nice! Nice to finally be on the right side of the highway to search for this one for a change. Tftc
Sorry, no find for me here today. The GPS told me I was close but I will have to try again another day.
This one turned in to quite the gathering, after arriving with chookandchunk on our way home from nearby event we were joined soon after by SnapHappy and GemmaSistema. Thanks for the cache and RIP
After attending the nearby Happy Birthday Kinkell memorial event for our dearly departed and sorely missed caching friend, it was certainly fitting to find this cache of hers on the way home. A quick find with Wozzle68. As we were leaving, GemmaSistema pulled up, so we hung around while she found the cache as well. TFTC Kinkell1 - long may your caches live on.
Found late this afternoon after attending the event in town in honour of this CO which for me was a perfect tribute to end the day... It was however by luck as after doing a few caches on the nearby Legends trail I was heading home and when I turned I saw geo cars in here! I pulled over and the kids were asleep so I made the dash to see chooknchunk and wozzle just about to leave. Snap happy said he'd show me where to go but alas he forgot where it was as he'd found it years ago and neither of us had our phones on us! So the lovely chook came back out to help! Ha ha. Thanks chook! Nice to finally get a smilie here - I've been past Hundreads of times but wasn't keen on the location by myself or with kids. My lucky day!
Found on the way home from the Anglesea with shonky logic after attending the Surf Coast Mega Event.

Tftc, it's all dry. Found this on my way to Ballarat for work. Wacked my knee on a tree stump in the area. Too busy not looking where I was going. Lol
Found with Mi5sie as we headed home after attending an e vent not far away. We managed to make the find without getting blown away in the winds as they were getting stronger. Thanks for bringing us here, Glad it wasn't too busy. TFTC
Yayyy our 100th Cache
Our GPS was a bit off, but a few subtle hints helped us out!!

Due to a recent log, we came here today to check out the welfare of this hide. We were pleased to note that it is doing well: Dry inside, safely in its hidey-hole. We did replace the ziplock bag and cleaned out the rubbish that some people seem to refer to as swaps. Replaced them with a few swappable items and left a TB. - The log book still has more than half of its pages left unmarked (if you turn it the right way).
Good luck to future finders, enjoy!

I'm guessing Ballan has had quite to downpour of late, previous caches have been submerged, this one certainly got feet wet too. Luckily the gps was on point and the cache was soon in hand. Thank you for this cache.
Taking on the back roads around Ballarat on another glorious autumn day. Another great geocache adventure. A quick find to finish off and turn for home

Continuing my quest for missing early placed months, I was a good boy and hung around for lunch with the family, before heading out and up the highway. With a late start, I had to scale back my ambition of knocking off six of the eight possible months I can cover in Victoria... we'll see if I can visit two or three...
Well, November, 2001 and February 2002 have been accounted for... and that's enough for today, as it's a school night. On the way home however...
Another nice quick detour off the freeway. I parked on the bridge and took one last short walk by torchlight, for an easy grab. Thanks, Kinkell1.
