Out and about on a play date with IolantheK and Mrs Just a Trifle today. We had chosen a suitable cache to meet up at and now we were off on a crazy adventure to find caches that all three of us had not found.
We happened upon this spot because of the intriguing sign at the end of the road. We just had to know what the historical feature mentioned would be. When we arrived I realised that there was a cache here. IolantheK had already done it, so it had not been on our radar.
We had a short hunt with no luck. IolantheK rummaged up her photo of the cache hide. Another quick scour around that spot but still no luck.

Hi there Treking Trev,
Your cache "Camp Oven" was last found on 23/05/2015, 80 days ago, and has had 3 DNF's since that time..
Is there any chance you could do a maintenance run to confirm if it is still there - - and replace it if it isn't.
If that's not possible then please archive the cache so that the spot can be freed up for someone else to use.
Regards
Ian & Penny

Searched extensively for 30mins. Hint was no help. I doubt it's still here. Wasted trip! Geokids are losing interest.

Quickly found here at this quaint old area, interesting bit of history & well worth the short drive in TFTC
Second find for the day! Had to wait for muggles to leave before putting it back! Good hide!
I was in the area picking up an old desk and thought "I wonder if I might have another look for the old camp oven?". This time I was more successful and I was looking in the right place! Thanks Treking Trev for highlighting this great old relic in a beautiful place.
While in the area wanted to pick up a few more caches here. Country roads lead you to wonderful surprises. Cache found easily, log signed and replaced as found. Tftc
Returned with the kids today, apparently their new favourite place. Replaced cache container with a new one (with owner consent), log book in place, new pen. All set to go, and hopefully stay dry for a while.
Was just driving through the area wondering where the road was going to take me and had my phone set for 'live' so I could see the caches if/when they popped up. I eventuated down in this area and looked at my phone and saw I had 0 reception and couldn't get any info on the cache - it's location/hints/logs...anything. All I knew was that it was small.
Oh well, may as well have a bit of an exploration while I am here, and I am so glad I did. It was so peaceful and quiet (until the guy across the river started his chainsaw), but even with that noise it was so beautiful! I haven't seen water that crystal clear in a very long time - gorgeous.
Enough site-seeing, I started searing in all of the usual type of spots but couldn't come up with anything besides for a few big thorns in my thongs *ouch*. Was thinking I should probably leave and come back when I have some info then I saw one more place to look....well that is bizzare, what is behind "AHA" I had the cache!!!
I took it back to the car and had a look - it was totally drenched. All of the "swaps" were either moldy or rusted and the bags were holding water inside. I lay everything on my bonnet in the sun to dry and carefully dried the log book with a towel and put it in the sun also. (log book logs have run due to the wetness of the book). Upon closer inspection of the container you can see it has a hole in the bottom, unfortunately I didn't have a replacement container on me, but I did have bags. I have removed the rusted/moldy swaps (if the CO wants them, let me know??) and the pen as it wasn't working either. I put the now dry log book in 2 new zip lock bags, hopefully that will hold off the water a while, and replaced the cache.
I then followed the road as I knew it should lead me slightly closer to home...except, I ended up in someones property and had to try and do a 3 point turn on a one lane road in a van (was more like a 10 point turn).
It is so beautiful down there, and the roads and scenery are absolutely beautiful!
FP from me Trev. Thanks for bringing me here.

First day on the job and the wife found it. School holidays coming up so hoping this will keep grandkids occupied.
Found after walking in circles and finding the *other* rock in the *other * tree! Safely tucked away, log is wet despite double bagging but still writes well. TFTC
Out caching this morning with geo granddaughter, she loves the hunt. Interesting history, it makes you think how isolated they would have been. no problem finding the cache, good clue thanks Treking Trev.
We decided to pick this one up on our way home from woodford, we went the long dirty way but got to put the van into 4wd and get an excuse to give it a good wash thanks for taking us to such a nice spot TFTC
Looked and looked for this one. Believe the tree in question had a camp fire built around its base and the cache may have gone the way of the pioneers.
Great location. I would never have known this lovely little spot existed. The cachr e was uncovered- my 2 year old spotted it- but the location makws it unlikely to be found by accident.
Found it with the MEG#3 group. It's our fourth find for the day TFTC Treking Trev
Found as part of the MEG#3 group out on the hunt today.
Finally at this cache the rain was stopping, although you could see plenty of evidence where previous rain had caused the nearby creek to run pretty high.
Cache found and log signed.

This cache was mobbed as part of 2013's Mission Empty Glass (MEG) - tackling all caches in 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Mysteries, Micros, Multis, Mountains, Madness, the lot. MEG#3, the Glass Borders, was a day trip around the outside of the defined Glasshouse Mountains. I put out the call if anyone would like to join me for the trip, expecting I'd hope a couple at least to share the day ... was joined by up to 27 of us at the peak, in convoy. Big day out for some caches. Across the day we mostly consisted of myself with Censations, net88, La Kedi, Fangsoki, Sweet_bee, Bedmaker, TassieGirl, Jimmyproject, Karen_hippo, Brother Colin, Iolanthek, T-Tech, Hiltonclan, Nyssaflutterby, membsec, Crew153, Ms Maddy, Nurseyjulie, Hunting Rabbit, Dansync and Just-a-trifle.
Some would say this one was not really in the Glasshosue mountains, but there was a creek 'over there' which I'd decided was the border, so this one got mobbed along with the rest. A short drive along lovely bushland as the rain cleared and then we pulled up alongside said GZ for a rapid find. Nice spot all round, although lighting the oven today might be a tad complex.
Thanks for placing this cache, Treking Trev. Found in good condition.

Driving alongside the creek toward GZ, I took a moment to appreciate being out in the bush, and wondered how hard life would've been for those early pioneers. Paused at the camp oven site but I'd forgotten to bring an oven on my caching day, so no brekky. TFTC, Treking Trev . =^.^=
MEG#3 Group 2, Cache 4
Stopped off here, hopped out of the car and raced for it again. Ms Maddy and I both approached the same tree, but on opposite sides. She was on the right side. Another find for the girls.
Back at the car we took a moment to read the memorial plaque. Interesting history lesson. TFTC

Headed north out of Brisbane with IolantheK set for a big day of caching through and around the Glass House Mountains as part of Pprime (P`)'s MEG#3 mob
For those not in the know MEG stands for "Mission Empty Glass" or to explain, P` wants to bag these caches and a bunch of us cachers went along to get them as well [^])
A great day was had by all with a mile stone or two to boot.
This was cache 5 of 39 finds and 3 DNF today [^]

Cache number three for me whilst caching with the MEG #3 group. Really enjoyed being out in this area. The rain had stopped and we were able to leave the raincoats in the cars. The cache was found quickly, it helps when there is 15 sets of eyes looking. Thanks for the cache Treking Trev
Trying to catch up with the main group for the Meg#3 run with The Hunting Rabbit, Ms Maddy, Nurseyjulie and dansync.
I remembered this cache from the last time that I was here. I didn't mind visiting the spot again though.
I headed to where I thought I had found the cache last time and the others headed to where the GPS was pointing.
I was surprised that they came up with the cache as that was the area that I had spent 30 minutes searching last time before I found the cache in a different area after a PAF call. Glad to see that it is now where it was supposed to be.

Found as part of the MEG#3 group.
A quick drive by. Our car took a slightly different way to this cache than everyone else and added our names separately.
All dry and in good condition.
Thanks for the cache.

MEG#3. Another one in a long list for the day. Great spot and a nice quick find. TFTC
I took part in Pprime's MEG#3 today This was my #5 for the day, and a quick find. The hint made us all giggle TFTC, Treking Trev.
We managed to take a different route into this one than the rest of the MEG#3 mob, but we soon had this in hand. A really nice rural area. TFTC
On the way back to the sunny coast with Crew153 and Nurseyjulie...
At this early stage in the morning we were still in the company of The Hunting Rabbit and DanSync and lagging behind the main MEG#3 Glass Borders mini-event troupe...

Last one on my way from Mt Mee back home today!
What an unusual historical 'thing' to find!
Thanks for showing me.
The cache was safe and sound.

Checked on this today the cache is OK and at the listed co-ords the hiding spot has changed and the hint has be changed to suit.
Please see previous log. Have hidden cache at base of tree, will send you a private message when we get home T-Trev, regarding specific location.
Found it out in the open, on the ground, not near anywhere obvious. No apparent damage or muggle action though. Have re-hidden on ground near base of tree for time being as GPS conked out on approach so going from hints only.

While on a lovely muggle family day out and about, I couldn't help but make them indulge my passion just a few times. Although, I have converted my oldest munchkin and he happily joined me in the recovery of this cache. Thanks madman04 We arrived at GZ and I soon had the cache spotted, and it wasn't long till my apprentice had the cache in hand.
TFTC Treking Trev Always a pleasure!

=) Found this while out for a drive in the country with Brightskies , great little spot for a rest to stretch the legs , checked out the creek although not much water running at the moment , a sign we need more rain for sure .. TFTC =)
Walked around it a few times and then small one pointed to it. Left a pencil as there wasn't one there.
For some reason we kept missing this cache. We nearly missed it today too as we were in Woodford for MTO and we wanted to get another cache in Caboolture. We ended up in Caboolture before I realised that this one was on the GPSr. Oh well, we turned around and went in search for this wonderful cache. What a great area. Love this sport which gets us to so many places that you wouldn't usually go to. Took us a little while to locate the cache even though we were right on GZ.

The cache was a great find. It was a sneaky hide. We had a friend with us and she found it straight away. Took mini skateboard and left a little keyring. We stayed for a picnic ate after and soon another group of cachers came. It was a fun find.

Finally found time to have a cache maintenance morning. So I performed the Geocache rain dance in that I managed to get over half of the caches that have had needs mantenance reports, fixed. I replaced the ontainer wih a large container with some new swaps the container is in a larger container I hope these measures keeps some of the water out. No doubt we will have a week of rain now. At least I have done my bit to keep drougth away.
Muggles at GZ when we first passed but we returned after visiting some other local caches and by that time they had moved on. Quickly located but as per previous finders, the log is saturated and barely signable. Needs some TLC. Thanks Treking Trev
Dippinng in trackable car while visiting with Lokipagan. Nice to see the area again
The hint was more helpful than our GPS here ... cache was soaked but we managed to sign. Needs maintainance .
As per my found log this one needs some owner attention. Was mighty wet when I found it.
Blasting in a general north/west-ish direction with Fangsoki this morning and pulled up so I could grab this one. before we even got to near the cache, I noted the most appealing looking creek from the bridge. We parked right near the namesake and I checked it out before we headed off in hunt. Had a good chuckle at the hint and I spent some time checking several wrong places. Soon set off to another likely spot and immediately found something, which was not the cache but a funny looking gadget. I ended up placing it back on top of the cache, which was under it. Out came the cache, but it was half full of water. I emptied it out and didn't bother with the log. replaced as found and set off to grab a closer look at the creek and skip a few stones Nice area here, thanks for showing it to me. TFTC Treking Trev
