GPS took me to mine work and did not go through it, so give up and need research, which is the way.. next time..

08-Jan-23
Well Bunadoorian and I had an interesting drive here with the road works going on. We didn't know about any mining around here so the views of the large trucks dumping large rocks near the roads was interesting to watch. I bush bashed down to GZ and finally found the large cache in good condition. TFTC and for bringing us here Blair and CO

08-Jan-23
As per a previous log it was a bit of a bush bash through the scrub to finally get to GZ. Then Grub62 found a well hidden cache. It was a good size as well. Great views from back at the lookout. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.

06-Sep-22
Bit of a bush bash to find this one. But found eventually. TFTC

Good hike

Today is the fourth day of our Easter holiday travels for TaurusSix and I . We stayed the night last night at Lake Grace so today we are exploring the area and heading out to King Lake and even on to Ravensthorpe. The weather is quite cool this morning and very cloudy, which makes it very pleasant for geocaching. The geocaches are quite sparse and spread out today but we will certainly try to collect as many as practical.

This is our fifth cache find of the day. Wow we were not expecting this place what a great lookout. It’s a bit cloudy today so while it is still a good view we are sure that on a clear day you could see much farther. Given everything today has been so flat it’s nice to see a few hills again. There has clearly been a lot of rain because there are big puddles everywhere and even the wooden structure of the lookout is very damp.
Once again it’s thanks to geocaching that we come to such amazing way out places. A little bit of a bush bash and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC

I left it to my husband, i didnt fancy scratched legs, after reading the comments!!

17-Nov-21
While the interstate travel is still a bit iffy we decided to spend the time touring southern WA.
On our return journey now and I have most of the caches around Ravensthorpe so we headed out of town a bit to grab this one.
Our GPS is not up to date with the roads in the area since the mine has started but we eventually found our way to the cache, Then it took a bit of searching to find it..
This was find number 1 for the day.

Found it trek is a bit over grown. But great spot

30-May-21
A prickly trek but found it in the end. On way to Hopetoun to pick up Polish rooster. TFTC

With assistance

16-May-21
Beautiful view

18-Apr-21
As noted by others - already in a secluded spot. Scratchy bushes make it further complicated. Bring shoes on your walk. Beautiful spot however.

12-Jan-21
I got scratched all right. Thank God my phone did a all right job in finding it so it was not for nothing. I agree that wouldn't be necessary. TFTC anyway

28-Dec-20
The scratchy path was not too bad even though I was in thongs and shorts having forgotten to bring my geocaching shoes. Tftc with fabulous view

06-Oct-20
Thanks for the hint!

08-May-20
Nice to get out, but prickly bush bashing has left some marks. 4wd not necessary. View pretty good. TFTC

02-Feb-20
We went up the hill to get to this lookout and the cache.
I wondered a bit about the hiding place in the middle of the vegetation.
Isn't there a better place to avoid trampling the plants?
Anyway, TFTC and greetings from Austria

02-Feb-20
I think this place is secluded enough, no need to hide this box so far in the scratchy bushes. Anyway we got it and enough scratches.

What a great lookout. WE were there late December on a hot 40 degree plus day. Locating the cache was a challenge as our phones (we didn't bring our handheld Garmin GPS) were overheating and combined with the minerals and shrub we kept getting different readings. Looking for this cache was tough with shorts and thongs as many sharp bushes made it hard to move around.
We would give this cache a favourite for location but were disappointed the search for the cache and GZ were some distance away trough prickly bush.

21-Dec-19

We have been travelling since January when we left Geelong and travelled up the centre to Alice then Darwin. We crossed the border into WA at the start of May
After completing the gibb river road and cape leveque we began our trip Southey
Many highlights along the way and most memorable swimming with the whale sharks
We have zig zagged from coast to inland
We are now camped in the area and plan to cache and do the tourist things
Thanks to caching we see more of the country than the muggles out there

23-Sep-18
Travelling Australia since March 2014 now we are making our way west for a visit with family.

Moving day today from Esperance to Ravensthorpe. Managed to grab a couple of caches with the caravan on tow. Once in town we unhitched and headed out to explore the local area using Geocaching as a guide.

22-Sep-18
Debris found in the area ( compass, pencil, clasp of plastic container and braclet) No cache found. Will replace if I get a chance.

22-Sep-18
Had another look and sure enough it was there. Well hidden under rocks. Put the bracelet and compass found nearby back in the cache.

04-Sep-18
Our second day on the 'big loop' through WA checking out the wildflowers and grabbing a few caches along the way. After an unexpected overnight in Jerramungup we headed out early to Ravensthorpe. The gps had a melt down because the new bypass road is updated as yet. Had to negotiate our own way to gz where we made a quick find. Thanks Blair and Co.

13-Jul-18
Found cache on a beautiful winter's day. TFTC.

02-Apr-18
Found cache in very poor shape. Replaced container and supplied new log. Left old log in new container and a few trades. TFTC beautiful view, last time I came up here it was pissing down so I didn't even leave the car to search.

19-Mar-18
Road trip to Esperance, by passing some friends and family along the way. Have a hole week off to enjoy time away from work and all the stress. Picking up caches along the way. Tftc sl tnln.

16-Jan-17
Box broken and had to push prickly bush to find. TFTC

01-Jan-17
Lookout was good. 39m through scrub!
Cache container Broken. Put back up side down to protect it.
Would have been good to do this one before vineyard.
Thanks for the cache which took us on a great scenic track along the ridge. Would not have come this way without inspiration of the two caches.

01-Jan-17
After doing the Vineyard continued on to do this one and realised had we done this one first the track would have been easier. Fantastic views from the Ridge but felt that the cache itself was unnecessarily placed in a difficult scratchy place, it is also broken and needs maintenance.

18-Dec-16
Fantastic views, you can see for miles. The lid is broken & contents wet. TFTC

05-Aug-16
Dnf but had a good view.

09-Jul-16
Tftc. Picked a wet day to find this. The cache container is corroded and requires swapping out. Didn't have one with us. Nice spot but just a poor visibility day!

10-May-16
When I did this trip last I found this cache around 4 years ago.
Arrived and realised this has been found before so a late logging.
Went on a trip from Perth to Kalgoorlie down to Esperance and then back to Perth. Spent 6 days finding, hiding and even maintaining caches along the way.
The majority of caches were found easily and in good condition even some archived ones.
Took a few travel bugs and placed along the way.

19-Feb-16
I headed to the LOOK OUT [:o] from the vineyard Smile
A pleasant drive along the top of the range in the misty, drizzle this morning Razz
Past the railway crossing ??
(Some joker has stuck one of the olde signs up here !!)
And after all the bouncing along the rough, and rutted track,
I made it to GZ.

A quick look at the view ...
... I could see Ravie silos over there in the mist.
But not much else.
I just knew that I was up high on a hill Smile

No Yodeling !! Please Razz

Getting to the cache involved a short, scratchy battle with the scrub which was soaked from the mist.
So I got soaked too Razz
Cache found !!
Oh it is looking a bit 'holy'.
Still dry inside Smile
I covered the cache with some rocks in a way that will not encourage rain ingress Smile

TFTC and view !!

Then it was a nice drive down the hill on a reasonable dirt road.
Just a couple of washouts on it, so go slow Wink

10-Jan-16
The clips holding the cache closed and keeping it water proof have fallen off. I don't think this cache will stay dry in the next heavy downpour. Sorry we didn't have a replacement container with us.

A nice view from the cache spot. Cheers

15-Dec-15
Found. Getting very overgrown to get to. All still intact and dry. Had to go to tower across the way. Road up there very bad. Thanks for the cache

08-Dec-15
Couldn't find it. 30m over the edge in scratchy banksia and non-snake proof sandles (we saw one on the road up to the nest). Gave it a go for 10 minutes and decided to come back at a later date, better attired against the wildlife. TFTC, I'll have to have another crack later. On another note, I descended the range via marked tracks, what an awesome little deviation that was. Railway crossing and all.

Out for a day of caching around Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun. This was one of our finds. TFTC

22-May-14
Had to head out to the area and surrounds for a tad over a week and was based in Ravensthorpe. Managed to bowl over most of the caches out here in that time. Fantastic part of the state with many places to go exploring.

Nice clear view of the surrounding area and a great track to get in to it after visiting Vineyard in the Hills.

TFTC location-challenged.

Nice view. Could be a tricky find. When walking down hill look back!

09-Sep-13
Wow, didn't this turn into an adventure.

A little bit of background info, I have driven 4wds for the last 30 years or so. Been to most destinations in the eastern states and the territory. Currently the longest serving member of the Gladstone and Districts 4wd club, in Qld. I would call myself reasonably well qualified to drive a 4wd.

On this holiday, having travelled over from the eastern states by train, I had to hire a car. Its a Toyota------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Camry Estina.

Wearing my bestest 4wd club T shirt, we had driven from Wave Rock, heading for Esperence. We turned off the highway, and headed for this cache. We initially made an incorrect turn, following the fence line along the bottom of the hills. Realising our mistake, we backtracked, and found the correct ascent. The cache find was easy. Its then we decided to head for Vineyards. We picked our way carefully along the track, having no real difficulty, but slowing for any lumpy bits. We managed to get all the way to the Railway Crossing sign. But when I checked down the slope to the north, I thought I better not push my luck. With a KM or so to go, we decided to see if there was another way in.

We headed downhill to the south, then followed the fenceline to the east, for way seemed like forever, finally coming out onto the highway to the east of Ravi. Remarkably, the Camry handled the trip with ease. No damage, a bit of mud and underbody cleaning from track centre flora. Good wheel placement and a steady throttle can take you a lot of places that you might not think you can get to. But we never got any closer to Vineyards.

Great fun.

Cheers

Bundy

found on our day in ravy

This one could have taken some time, but I was lucky. Raining but still a view. Cache okay, roads a bit dubious. Thanks for an adventure!

10-Jul-12
Great view. Heard a very strange of bird call right at the cache site.

03-Jul-12
A quick find although we did have trouble getting there as our GPS didn't recognise the road. It was going to have us park at the bottom and bush bash to the top and that was never going to be an option. Great views from the lookout. Thanks.

25-Mar-12
Great lookout..TFTC
Wasn't too confident about trying the next cache up and over that hill so decided against it.

Nice drive up the hill, fantastic views! SL TNLN TFTC

15-Mar-12
Took the longest possible detour trying to find the road the lookout is on because our GPS didn't seem to think Floater Road existed! In saying that we enjoyed the extra 40 mins it took as we drove around the area. Once on the right road it was easy to find and the geo-kids soon located the well hidden cache. Awesome view from this location and our 2WD easily managed to get us there. No time to find the Vineyard today so back to base for food. Smile Thank you for placing this cache in such a beautiful location. TFTC. Smile

Nice place to stop and have a look around

05-Jun-11
Found at 10.15am GAFF1. We enjoyed the panoramic view across to the west - need to find out what those mountains are called on the horizon.
We feel that this is going to get awfully difficult in a few years to access when the shrubs and trees start to grow over head height.
Thanks Blair and CO.

02-May-11
2nd find for the day. Tricky one. We had trouble honing in on the coordinates but eventually found it.The log book is falling to bits and could do with a new one. took 0 left Kimba magnet. Lovely view.
