Logs

10-Aug-11
As there's been no cache to find or log to sign for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

01-Jul-11
DNF, obviously gone.

14-Feb-11
Due to the recent flooding at the location of the cache we assume it has floated away so we will replace shortly

20-Dec-10
We are disabling this due to the reason in the previous log so when the water level drop we will then go check or might just pull on the gumboots...

20-Dec-10
Gz was surrounded by a lake some three inches deep, had a good feel around, but no cache was found. May need to temp disable until water levels drop.

29-Nov-10
Unfortunately the recent rains have resulted in this tree and its nearer bigger relation sitting in a large puddle of water. After wading in the water and trying to find the cache by feel I came away empty handed. I dare say this one has ben washed away. But thanks anyway. Hope I'm wrong.

14-Nov-10
Looked in the likely spot for this one and dodging the big puddles from the recent rain & then we spotted something floating in the puddle, which we thought could possibly be the cache....and yep there it was. All dry inside though.
SL and popped it back very close to where we found it, but not down in the puddles! Big Grin

24-Jul-10
Found this one, after the GPS sent me wandering all over the place for a while. I did feel a bit - exposed - out there, but no one noticed. The ground is quite soggy, so watch your step.

Just a cacher found this one, whilst Mr Bunny checked the air in the tyres.

Like others before us, we did not realise this log had been disabled....(been in our GPS since June last year, hopeful of locating it then on way down to Loch Sport...but inclement weather saw us sail on past!) Anyway, introduced my cousin to geocaching here today...only to find the remains of the cracked cache container, and what is left of the log on the ground....(see photo as proof!) We were unable to sign soggy log...and returned it to what we thought would be it's obvious home.....(will e-mail this photo information to owner!) Hope this can be up and running again soon.....nice little stop over spot for those heading further on down the highway! Found at 13:40hrs.

08-Mar-10
Just realised this was unavailable as I went to log it on gc.com. It showed up on the GPSr when I stopped for fuel as I was heading to Lakes Entrance. Found the cache and noted cache container damaged and inundated by slaters who had made a meal of the log sheet. Photo taken on the Oregon 550 for proof of find.

28-Jan-10
Like others I didn't realise this one was disabled, the log is in bits, but nevertheless I found a bit on which to log! Thanks anyway!

this on is still in place but the log needs replacing given I found it and managed to SL its a find.

Find # 771 @ 13:45 and the fourth of six finds for the day.

I located this cache not knowing it had been temporarily disabled as it had been loaded into the GPSr before I left Melbourne on holidays. An easy and obvious find.
SL Thanks for the cache Rigger64.

30-Dec-09
This was still in my GPS so didn't realise it had been taken offline - yes - a new log is definitely required. TFTC.

29-Dec-09
3rd find of the day and 2248th total find at 17:57.

A nice easy find on our way down to Nicholson for our Intervening Days trip. The cache container looks a bit squashed.

Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing (Screwdriver wouldn't fit)
Thanks Rigger64 for the cache.

20-Dec-09
Found the cache at around midday. thank god it was an easy find because i do not own a GPS.
Thanks for the cache guys
P.S the log has seen better days, I think it has to be replaced.

Loved this one. It was pretty tricky trying to make sure no-one was around to see since it's quite exposed.

Did this in the dark and only just saw the spiders in time! There were hundreds of them hanging everywhere, which we could only just see once the torch went on. Also we had to retrieve the cache from underneath some dog poo. Luckily the GeoBoyfriend was gentleman enough to take care of that. The container was cracked and will probably need replacing. TFTC!

Our first stop and first find for our holiday to Lakes Entrance - and easy find but the log needs some work.

Out thanks to Rigger64

Found at 9.20am GAFF1 in the company of Acts2YG, Alansee and Rabbitto on a very successful tour of east Gippsland. Another quick dash from the vehicle to grab this one as it was quite wet and windy. Luckily on the way to GZ a small container was found some 5 metres from GZ - it was the cache - quite badly damaged and the log book is full as well.
Replaced it as best we could, but probably won't stay there.
Thanks Rigger64

22-Nov-09
This was cache # 9 of 45 for the day, In the company of Alansee, pprass & Rabbitto, on our tour of Gippsland, the cache was found at 09:20. What was all this wet stuff falling out of the sky? We dashed for GZ only to find the container on the ground, we placed it back where thought it should go but it will need checking as the container is damaged. My thanks to Rigger64 for the cache.

Cache container is damaged and log book is full. Just realised that we replaced it in a different spot to what the hint says

Thanks Rigger64 for this easy cache location. Took nothing, left nothing, signed logbook. I am the newbie referred to previously - nice to have an experienced geocacher (Trunksnsuch) along with me (thanks for all your tips and tricks). As a newbie, I was along as part of a “work experience†cache assault. PC’s or Macs? Everyone to their own thing - I say use what you feel is best for you. With the luxury of hindsight, I’ve estimated that if I’d been able to use my current Mac setup, I’d have found this cache in almost half the time of a PC/GSAK setup I’ve seen being used ? LOL.

1101 Took a newbie on a work experience trip today - he needed all the help I could give because he runs a Mac & lives in Churchill so he's behind the 8ball to start with. It was a pity we didn't need fuel, food or loo but a cache is just as good an excuse to stop at these locations. TFTC Rigger64

I have driven past this recently developed location a few times, and had not ventured in until today in search of this cache. Easy access, plenty of parking and facilities make this a great "along the way" cache.

Drove right up to GZ and used the vehicle to shield my searching activities from the nearby oasis! Nice hide - SL at 3:45pm. Thanks again Rigger64 for the cache. Regards, 38degsouth.

After over 4 weeks of recuperating from a hip replacement Cracker Girl volunteered to take me for a days outing. What better way to get out than to try and collect some caches. This one was in a place we knew well, as we often stop here before going to play in the nearby Bunyip State Forest. We thought this one may be tricky on crutches but as it turned out it was quite easy.
Thanks Rigger64

Drive past all the time but never had a reason stop. Today I needed a break so took the opportunity and was rewarded with a find.
I like the distance from the oasis, allowed me to log the find without the muggles knowing what I was doing.

Found by Bob at 1420

At least this cache and its mate have been placed in spots that the satnavs seem to know about - I had some major problems with other caches in the area today because it's just so tricky trying to cross the freeway in many places and my TomTom often tried to tell me to stop on the freeway itself! Anyway, no problems with this one and I was able to park less than 5m from GZ and make a nice, easy find Smile.

Thanks Rigger64

Felt a little conspicuous wandering out so far away from the "Oasis". Easily found though.

We found our 13th Rigger64 cache at 1:20pm as the 4th of 18 on our Mini Gippsland Tour Afternoon. Last time we were here last year, we were teamed up with about 8 other geocaching teams all ready to attempt the Team Crackers 4x4 Gentle Annie cache series. Looking up at the devestation in the hills, it is sad to see what has happened to such a beautiful area and it will be doubtful if any of those caches have survived. Interesting spelling of the word "Nowhere" in the title unless it were referring to No Werewolves of which there were indeed none at this cache. Thanks for the cache from D,H & H B-A.

I hadn't driven this way for a while, and I was wondering where this pair of caches must be. It became clear when the road signs started to coincide with the GPSr. Smile
A short walk and the cache was in hand. I felt a bit exposed when a bus pulled up and guys started pouring out, but they had other thing on their minds, and didn't look over my way.
Thanks, Robmc.

Tried for this one at 0615, couldn't find it. Left to find another day. Later in the morning I got a call from Iain from The Swaggies who was caching in the area I had just left, Just in passing I mentioned this cache and he said that he had found it right where I had been looking! Seems it had been pushed in too far for my podgy fingers to get too, so on the way back from Moe stopped and grabbed it.

First find of 24 for the day in our (to pinch a saying from rabbitto) "Back to Morwell Bonanza" seeing as we were both sick last week and could not attend the Meat and Greet. This was a tricky little find because when we got there GZ had had a thorough going over and the cache was not to be found. However in one of the areas I seemed to touch something familiar and after some effort was able to extract the offending item.
TNLN Thanks Rigger for the cache, and now to the next one.

Saw this come up last night, but we were too tired, and had already passed by here twice on the weekend. Figured it would be a "buzz" Razz for someone a little closer to get...but when Mrs rang this morning saying they were still decaffeinated [|)], a little encouragement and she and 4yo grabbed cache.
Nice spot.
