found on a warm spring day with the geokiddies. it was a bit of a scramble, but we had fun and found it without too much difficulty. didn't see any snakes thankfully.
Find # 1272614/9/2024 Met up with Stinjali for a cycle around Lake G after our initial plans to do a section of the Centennial Trail were aborted due to a lack of planning. Also not convinced that Stinjalis was up for a cross trek. And so a loop of LG was the default option. We managed a super quick loop in <30mins, and when I suggested another lap this time to pick up some caches, seemed like a good idea.Only one DNF, and it turns out that was because my coords were out All finds very straightforward here today, and caches in good condition. Thanks jusojara for Star Sparkles
We did not find it, but we (me and my cousins) had a great time by trying to skip rocks
In retrospect it should not have taken us as long, but the grass was very high so took us a while just about to give up when mrs aprikot found it! Tricky hide ! Lovely spot, cheers cobber.
Using my day in Canberra on the way to the mountains to attempt a few D/T caches. Sad I couldn't find this one, I really tried my best for maybe 20 minutes crawling around in the rocks.
I always like to attempt the older caches when I can so am very pleased to add a smiley to this one. Thank you for placing the cache and maintaining it for so long.
GT37 likes to get the caches that have been around for quite some time so this was added to our list for today. The cache was a nice quick find. Thanks for placing it for all to enjoy.
Today I was invited along for a paddle trip. A last minute, mad ring around and I soon had organised a couple of Kayaks to pick up for Bluewattle and myself. We were joining Jac's team and Rocket for a paddle trip along the Molongo. It was going to be a long day. The plan was to paddle down to #24 and then on the return, see how we are doing for time and maybe head up and grab a couple others. We put in near the water ski park and it was such a beautiful day, there was no sense of urgency and it was very pleasurable.umm then Huston, we have a problem; seems jacs kayak was taking in water and filling fast. We managed to get her to a nearby fallen tree and try to rectify the issue. We removed some of the water but it was not enough. Songs of "six months in a leaky boat" rang out (in my head) and I did refrain from voicing. The next action was to get it back to a nearby ramp and sort out the issue. All good the river is back to normal height, lets continue on and we did.We got in all our target caches and even remedied a cache that has baby birds at it, that was cool and the were not bothered by us at all. We signed all logs and replaced as found. This was such a great morning to be on the river, so much so that even the water skiers were out and some others were floating along. After our paddle we went off to grab a few more caches, this was one of those.
Mega is finished, and we have a few days caching before heading home to QLD.Post-Mega geotrails made this a quick find today.Log signed and cache replaced as found on April 3, 2024. TFTC, jusojara.
Out and about in Canberra with the view to collect Multies, challenges and suburban cache.Following the already made trailsCaching with and signing as the group 'Q4 + others' and having a great day.TFTCache jusojara
Out and about with chamad and Bluewattle and met up with poolpool and 4 for QLD at several hides today. All caches were found in good condition, and a credit to the CO's who placed them for the geocaching communities benefit, thank you.
Happy to turn a frown into a smiley here. After reading previous logs, and other people had found it during the Mega, we thought we would give it another go. This time it didn't take as long to find. TFTC
Great to avenge my earlier DNF with assistance from a recent finder. Thanks,s jusojara!
Persistence pays off, coords are good and after a bit of gardening, I have cleared the area. Its an easy find atm, until the grass takes off again
Three of us searched extensively this morning around GZ, even extending our boundary out some 3m. That said, the grasses are dense and high. Given this location is known for brown snakes (large ones) we were therefore wary of extending our arms to reach far under each boulder. We understand that you have increased the difficulty rating but it doesn't help. Maybe a small cairn or some sign on the required cache boulder would be helpful. In addition, there is evidence of human activity at GZ given the rubbish around this rock pile. Maybe a spoiler photo would help making the search safer and more targeted. The views at this location are beautiful and we understand why it was selected.
My third time here, this time with two previous finders, but absolutely no joy after a long (and snake-aware) search. Thanks anyway, jusojara.
Confirmed it's still there. I've increased the D rating as it's obviously hard to find, as well as added a hint.
I've had a child in hospital so haven't made it out to check this one yet. I'll get out as soon as I can.
Hi jusojara,
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 4 weeks) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
If you require more time please be sure to **post a note** (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 4 weeks to keep everyone up to date, if you do not then you cache may be archived without further note from a reviewer. Caches archived due to lack of maintenance are no longer unarchived and you will need to submit a replacement as a new cache.

Couldn’t find after a while to t searching under rocks, in grass and up trees even
searched underneath all the rocks and couldnt find it! had some help from geoPez!
a gruelling search, but a very clever spot! had to stick our hands in a bunch of sketchy holes and thankfully didnt find any snakes or spiders, just the cache!
#895 Dropped by here this afternoon after work wanting pick up a couple of finds before heading off to darts comp tonight. I remember when dad first started caching and I was just tagging along I found this one with him so it was great to come back and refind it myself. My memory wasn’t much use here as that was years ago so I’m lucky my geosenses kicked in and clued me onto the right hiding location pretty soon after arrival. Cracked it open and signed the log and returned it to its resting place. Thanks Jusojara for the hide, twice!
After two or three previous attempts words cannot describe how happy we are to turn this sad face into a smilie . Buoyed by the CO confirming the cache was all good to go, we ventured over yesterday, but despite a long search, did not come up with the goods.
Today we returned with gloves and a fresh pair of eyes (but more importantly hands) to track down this hide. The hunt was nowhere near as long today.
Thanks jusojara for the adventure and hints along the way. It’s a truly beautiful little outcrop.

Cache is still there (just need to look in the right hidey hole), the piece found was from an old (now replaced) container.
A stroll around this lovely lake today, eek, the grass is high here, bit worried about wriggly sticks, stuck our hands in lots of holes, but no joy or sparkles today...
Our second or third visit to this spot. A snake sighting right at GZ was enough for us to abandon the search today. We will return when the grass is shorter and the snakes are scarcer.
We did uncover a clip that could be from a Tupperware/sistema-esque container though (see image). CO has since confirmed this is not from the cache.

Dnf. Head height grass hinderance. After shoving head and hands in many holes gave up after 15 or so mins
Oh my! Finally! Back today with MuggleGeorge to have another go at this one. The grass is still head high, but after some thorougher searching I found the cache deep within its hiding spot, at the place I originally thought was most likely! Sigh. So glad to have this finally turned into a smile. Thanks for the cache.
No luck tonight! Very long grass and warm weather made the hunt a little more tricky. Will come and try again when the weather cools off. TFTC
Spent a good fifteen looking around in the tall grass, in each crevice, under each rock lip, but pulled up nothing this time.
My dad and I came here lots of scrounging around the rocks - the container has been burnt is damaged
F(H)ound It! #3731 @ 1:30 PM
Today the Ridgeopup and I went for a big walk around the Lake of Gin chasing a venerable multi and picking up a few others on the way.
As we approached GZ it started to sleet and I thought it might hail, it was windy and very cold. A boat pulled up and a man and his boy leapt out, reversed the trailer and packed up and were out in record time. Meanwhile I walked in circles for a bit around GZ, holding onto my hat, until I saw a likely GZ. After which I soon had a decent little cache in hand.
No snakes today! They've all gone to Queensland.
Thanks jusojara

Visiting Canberra for the week and a friend brought me out here to walk her dog. Trusted the co-ords and reluctantly retrieved the cache without any sticks that move appearing!
TFTC.

A lightening strike has caused a fire nearby and has melted the lid. Took a bit of effort but we got the cache out to sign. Might need some looking at by the CO. TFTC

Spending a couple of days in the ACT.
A really lovely view over the lake.
A nearby fire has melted the container slightly, could do with a CO check

Unfortunately couldn't find. GPS jumped a bit and I didn't want to poke my hands down to many unknowns. I'll try again another day
Found with CastleKay and the geodog. Nice part of the lake that we haven't been to, taking in the views and soon had cache in hand. Dropped off TB. TFTC jusojara!
Found with Geodaughter EMV33 our caching for Mother’s Day. She is officially the golden child. . TFTC
I am currently camped at the showgrounds in Queanbeyan for the Mega event after travelling for the past 5 weeks or so on a rather circuitous route from Adelaide via Tasmsnia snd Victoria. Its beautiful autumn weather - great for caching and having a look about.
I joined up with a small group of other cachers from Tasmania, Victoria and NSW to find this cache.
However, despite six searchers, we were unable to find it.

Not there with six sets of eyes we couldn't find this one. Thanks for bringing us here none the less
First day back at work meant I didn't have the freedom to go caching whenever I felt like it. My son was buying a game off someone in Belconnen so I took the opportunity to drive him there on the condition that we did a cache on the way home (daily cache #212). Given it was 5pm, I decided this one would be our best option for a muggle-free experience. I've never wandered around this part of the lake so that was interesting. Also saw something move in the grass at GZ. We waited and after a while a lizard emerged. It was not one that I've ever seen before and unfortunately I wasn't able to snap of pic of it. This was a very generous T3. TFTC
Nice peaceful late night find, still a bit cautious of
Thanks jusojara for the cache. SSW

Great afternoon walk with the geopup. Found open and goodies around. Place everything back in signed the log and re-hidden. TFTC
Cache was out in the open with stuff everywhere. I have put it all back and hidden it where I suspect it goes. Might want to keep an eye on it, I suspect muggle kids may be getting to it.
A beautiful spot to sit, with a fabulous view of the lake. Surprisingly no one else was around this afternoon, so no stealth was needed.
On a nice a nice walk around the lake, we ascended to a small rocky outcrop, where you have quite a lovely view across the water and watched a couple of kayakers paddle by. Below a young man was fishing at the point, and the walking track busy with walkers, joggers, dogs taking their peeps for a walk and cyclists... it was a glorious spring day after all. TFTC jusojara
Found on a walk around the lake with the geo-lagotto and muggle friend. Easy find and in good condition. Thanks
No problems with this one and lovely to find a photo in there of real people, obviously enjoying themselves. Very heartening to see this whole area so well used with heaps of running Muggles, walking Muggles, Muggles with dogs, singles and doubles all out enjoying the winter sunshine. Restores a bit of faith in the world!! TFTC
