I foolishly took advice from a previous log saying that closed track was only inadvisable. I foolishly went but turned back IT IS DANGEROUS.
Thanks heaps! So neat to be my first one, a beach I spent my whole childhood at
Well we never would have got here without geocaching! Tide was out, sun was making the sea sparkle, all the sea birds were doing their thing. Magical. Sat on the rocks and had our morning tea. Cache is all good. Earns a fave from us. TFTC
Found long ago by myself, this time was able to take my wife Reny90 here for her to find it. As always, lovely views of the bar from here!!
A return trip today after first attempting at high tide. Easy find as Cache was visible from some distance away. Signed log and placed back in hidey hole with a little less visibility. TFTC.
Enjoyed walking along the beach to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers. Fav from me.
Day 6 - Wednesday 23 December - Coromandel - Whitianga - Coromandel -And back to Whitianga again. 309 Pony express is the aim today. But it was a hot dusty day and many caches below par so dissapointing. Left Zara in Whitianga and headed out around the loop in Toby.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

A nice walk along a bush path and then along the beach. There were a number of groups on the beaches, one famkily hogged the entire depth of the beach. But it was high tide, so from water to land? it was only about 6 metres. We had to walk through the group, either that or wade. I would be happy to wade, but I am in my boots, so not happening. Lovely lonely beach at GZ, so just for that it gets a favourite point.I would have looked at putting hte cache on the top of that island thingy, but I do like the CO's choice.
What is that concrete structure on the way here? Presumably part of the saw mill but what is the sheep-dip-like trough for?
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

Unexpected long weekend! Off to Coromandel then... Day 3 ... Last one in Whangapoua for me today. Top spot! Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC
In the area visiting a friend again, an awesome spot for a cache. Everything in order here, did give it a bit more of a hide once I’d signed because I could see it easily on approach. Tftc!
This is an absolute gem of a cache in a place that is only known to the locals, so when come from the UK you can let geocaching guide you to the most heavenly places like this. No problem accessing it, no problem finding it, just utterly sublime on a sunny day. Another favourite point is coming your way.
My 6000th cache!! Another idyllic beach we only generally find because of geocaching! Have an FP for this super location. TFTC
Checked on the cache to find it in the open. We have replaced as per the clue. Added another log sheet as well. Please replace as found, it helps to prevent muggling. Thank you.
Great find, kids loved exploring this beautiful bay and rocks. Found by enquisitive three year old.
Even though it was raining we still came for this one. Nice location. Easy find with good hint. Grab tb. Needs a repair due to rust. Tftc
Find number 5833. Enjoyed the walk around to this one. A bit of rock hopping required due to the tide, Cache all good. What a great spot. Thank you for the placement.
3.00pm. Another great little Coromandel walk. Thank you for bringing us here so it will be a favourite point from us. A quick find once we read the hint correctly.
Thank you. David and Noeline

What a cool spot. Was easy to find following the clue. We even found an octopus in the rock pools. Will certainly be back. Beautiful day for caching. Worth a Fav point. TFTC
Found it. Went at high tide would be easier at a lower tide but still fun thanks
Found it the kids had fun searching for this one I think it would be a little easier at low tide. Thanks so much
Was a bit lost with the hint. Lots of hint objects, but in the end the find was in the obvious spot. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. BJ25. Find # 1656
A nice walk around to this cache, but the last bit was a bit treacherous for the little ones. Certainly a booming shot. Tftc
Really enjoyed this find.
Have decided to take the bug for a ride as we are traveling around at the moment

Enjoyed the lovely walk around to the point. For some reason the GPS signal was all over the place, but managed to use satellite imagery and a bit of 'geo-sense' to find the cache fairly easily. TFTC.
Fun walk with our 6 and 9 year olds. Great hints so we had sucess. Left shell bracelet. Did not take anything. Lots of magic at this point. Shell finding on the beach. Iris and rosie
First find for 2018. No log book and found sitting on ledge not replaced well - poss muggle find. Love our annual pilgrimage to Opera Point.
Found with team BOP what a long but awesome weekend we had with lots of walking up and down hills but the views were worth it such a spectacular place we live in.

Day 2 -We had planned a big weekend with 6 of us travelling the Coromandel area and logging caches as team BOP. Found many great spots, several caches we replaced wet log sheets and others missing for some time. Lots of km's travelled on tarseal, gravel and some not so good roads. Lots of rained showers seemed to plague us on the first day. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), (Mr) Davidson clan, NZFlossy, TNXPro, and Philip.Perry… This is the first time we have cached overnight together. What an adventure… We group signed as Team BOP for efficiency and expediency.
We visited so many beautiful and remote locations on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many of these areas deserved to be hosts to caches. However, we encountered several that needed owner maintenance. Wet logbooks seemed to be far too common (We’ve had a lot of rain). Oftentimes, a sodden logbook was stuffed back into the container with a new, bagged logbook alongside (What's up with that?). And then there were some caches that were quite obviously missing (and have been for a while)… Nevertheless, a huge thank you to all of the COs for bringing us to these amazing places… We are determined to return and explore some more.
Spotted on approach. TFTC.

Team BOP descended upon the Coromandel to search out as many caches as possible in the two days allocated.
It was a good walk out here, but I would call it more than a T2, based on its access and location.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Absolutely beautiful spot - well worth the walk. The birdsong is fantastic and the views are awesome. On a road trip with Team BOP and this was one of the favourite for the day. Cache quickly found once at GZ - Now looking for a track uo TFTC
Team BOP have joined forces again this time to tackle the Coromandel. The real work begins here as we hit Opera Point. We followed the track until that ran out and now we just follow the GPS. The signal was a little jumpy but as we rounded a corner I spotted the cache. A 2L Tip-Top ice cream container - in a rock crack, in the open with no camo. On replacement I built a little rock wall around it but it's still a little obvious - just hopefully less so Cheers D&J - TFTC.
The mickey mouse ear is taking me direct to the cache. Big space for any trackable but inside only shells. When I log this cache I found a rusty abandoned spear gun not that far from the cache. Greetings from Indonesia. TFTC
Found it quite quickly, although it was missing its black raincoat. Mainly seashells in the container. Thank you
A sunny Xmas Day with MUEZ at the beaches of Whangapoua: We started exploring the area around Opera Point at the far end. Wow, another well hidden beautiful beach! As also mentioned in a previous log, there was a "GeoLutins" waiting in the cache container. We took it with us and will give it a lift over to Europe where it should finally find its way to France. / TFTC!
Great to get back to this one as I had a DNF on it last October when it had gone walk-about. An interesting beach and rock-hop out here today as it was almost full tide - made the trip a little challenging but lots of fun!! Lovely spot, TFTC
Many thanks for enticing us to this part of NZ. Great story of the area which fills out the history and geography of the place. Cache is still in good condition. Well hidden but too many clues/ giveaways for mugglers. There have been some random scribblers.
Was hoping to be the first to sign the new log book but alas I was not. Glad it was here this time thanks for replacing it it is such a lovely walk to do as long as it's not high tide. TFTC
Called by today. Sadly it has gone. We have replaced the cache container. Now a small. Happy Hunting.
Beautiful day out pity cache was missing found hiding spot but no cache. Great walk with Pinocchio59.
What a great walk and a cache would have topped it off, but it was not to be. Really think this one has gone AWOL as the hint pointed to a very definite spot which we found, but alas, it was empty. I will look back with interest to see if it is found anytime soon or if it has definitely gone
We loved the short walk around to here. We passed a family having a wonderful time near the rope swing, it was calm, secluded and a great place for a swim. We carried on to the interesting rocks. Such white sand!
Thanks for bringing us here. Must admit we had a bit of a grump about the people who cache without so much as a pen! The idea is to sign the log to prove you were there, after all!

Wow what a beautiful spot, thanks for bringing us here i forgot to take a pen so sorry couldn't write in the log. TFTC
Lovely spot. Caching with mates. Shit yeah new years. No pen in lig sadly. Thanks a bunch for the cache
An enjoyable walk around the point, on our first fine day, to a quick easy find, with a quite unique hint. TFTC
James loved this one as first larger cache so intrigued to find a treasure box.
Found this one on the way to Coromandel and having a few days away from Whangamata
We walked to the end of the beach and picked the track across to the were the old saw mill was
then around the corner to the cache the tide was low.Great spot and view.

Nice to have a cache where there was absolutely no one around after having caches in so many busy places in the last few days.
I really enjoyed this cache. Came here this morning in beautiful weather while exploring in the area, a great walk through the bush and then around the end of the point to the little bay where GZ is. It was high tide so I had to do a bit of rock climbing but no problems. Found the cache quickly in the second place I checked. Signed log, TFTC and it gets a favourite point.
What a lovely spot, enjoyed our walk around to here - grabbed a photo - uploading
Many Thanks
