Checked this one out and found the cache missing due to a new boom gate, we will replace it with another cache and coordinates soon.
Found what i reckon may have been the hide spot - hole and rocks - but nothing there. You may want to confirm it is still there
TFTC. Found on our great Aussie Road Trip heading West. TB dropped, may not be a medical site but could be useful in a crochet attack
Found this one while on our half lap of Australia
Just checking out the crossing, I wish I had brought my fishing gear. TFTC.

We remember days.....many years ago driving over the crossing here. Looks pretty scary if we were to do it now, so happy to see that it has been closed
Grabbed this cache while looking at Ivanhoe crossing. TB listed is not here but dropped one here to move along. TFTC.
It's interesting how the Kings show the effect of the wet season has on caching, 6 mths or more of no activity on many of the caches on the GRR. Enjoyed our visits back to the crossing, last time we could drive across. Tftc
While at Kunnanarra we spent some time sight seeing and checking out the tourist and interest areas. Love this spot, a pity you can not cross the river in the car anymore, but some still chance it by walking out for a fish, knee deep, maybe those snappys were not hungry???
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

An interesting spot. A few people risking the crocs in search of Barramundi. Crazy! No TB present though. TFTC.
Found quickly. It would have been great if we could have driven over the crossing as in times past, but it is still a beautiful sight. TFTC.
[Teal]As we head from town to town as part of our "Purposeful Meander around Oz" the Rats and the Mini Rats found this cache. Dad did most of the hard work here, the detail of our find can be found in the Rats log. Sorry for the duplicate log but it takes nothing away from the find.
Thanks for being part of our great adventure.

An impressive sight. Shame we couldn't drive over it but there was a huge rock and a bit too much water for me.

First for today, not a muggle in sight, signed and returned.
Thanks Bushies ftc

The 'non-caching other half' and I are visiting Darwin, Kununurra and Kakadu for two weeks to escape the cold in Melbourne. Of course a few caches are in order and this was one of them.
Now in Kununurra, and before our flight to the Bungle Bungles, we are tripping around town, playing tourist and grabbing a few caches. I am pleased we were able to make it to this crossing, although the large bolder means there were no crossings today, even if the hire car was allowed to cross (which it isn't)
Thanks for the cache Bushies2.

This spot is always a great location no matter what time of the year it is. Retrieved TB and will take it southwest grab a couple of pics on the way and replace it.

Finally visited this side of Ivanhoe... Haven't been here for years... Always just fish the other side! Left TB...
Had fun finding it and had no problems
Almost spotted my a few muggles but they didn't catch on

Loving the caching in the kununurra area, pretty much all hides have a excellent view or interesting story.
It's been a big thumbs up to the local community showing us around there little secrets
No sign of any crocs, but geo mum was still pretty nervous. Would of been great to drive across the crossing. While Speaking to one of the locals I heard a whisper that the crossing may be reopened

Beautiful spot we came here a few years ago and could drive across it thanks for placing this cache
Found it after walking around looking at the crossing. Had been a bucket list item to do the crossing (but you can't), so to find a trackable in this cache made the trip worthwhile.
Took Travel Bug (Koala Bear), Left Hero cards.
Thanks for the cache Bushies2
Wombat the Anthus laptop Geocoin visited, as did Runcible's Grasshopper and a Wild Turkey!

Easy find at a lovely spot in the kimberley. Would be good to use it as a shortcut one day.dropped a TB that we have had since South Aus.
A nice easy find after the hard won caches in the speargrass and rocks of the lost city!
We were following the GPS to another cache and it wanted us to go across the crossing, Unfortunately/Fortunately it has been closed. There was so much water flowing over it!
Cache was easily found.

Parked the caravan at the show grounds, and went caching around Kununarra.
Drove up to the crossing to have a look, hoping we would be able to cross the river here, but it was blocked off with bollard's.
The muggles fishing off the crossing were struggling to stand, because of the volume of water that was running over it.
It looked very impressive.
Thanks for the cache, Bushies2.

Went bush when I needn't have. Quite easy when you do the research first and read! Drove over when we were here 10 years ago. Wouldn't have driven across the crossing today even if it was open - Just a tad deep and strong. Thnx for bringing us back here.
Funnily enough my caching day began at the other end of this crossing
It looked long and exciting from that end !!
But you can only see half the crossing from each end.
In the middle is a small island of dryness
And now that I have visited the other end, I can definitely say that the Kununurra end is the worst !!
At this end the bollards were almost completely submerged by the flow !!
That is about half a metre of water cascading across a goodly 200 metres of causeway !!
How many cubic metes of water is that per second !!
The second half of the causeway, which is not visible from here is just as long and had about 350 mm of water cascading over it !! [:o]
No way could you drive your average 4WD (or even an inferior Jeep) across under those conditions
A Unimog would have no problems though and would even have had enough clearance to get over the bollards cemented into the causeway at each end [^]
The cache was a nice easy find though [^]

Sadly the Ivanhoe Crossing is no more. Good though that the cache is still there. Now we'll have to go the long way round to nab the others on 'tother side.
This was our 1st cache find in a caching run of 10 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
We found it at 09:10 so this now makes our total find count 6940.
[blue]
We would have liked to take the new Jeep over the causeway, but it was not to be.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres).
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Dora trinket.
Thanks Bushies2 for the hunt today.

After completing the caches in the Mirima National park we continued our journey to locate some further out.
A real quick park, grab, log & rehide, now on our way back to town

Our first for today. It was nice to see the crossing in daylight as it was very dark last night when we logged the cache on the other side of the crossing. Was flowing about 350+ today and very fast. Glad I didn't have to cross in our little terrios!!!TFTC
An easy find after checking out the Ivanhoe Crossing. We noticed a man standing on the middle of the crossing and Geoson wanted to walk across to the other side but we weren't sure he'd make it across in one piece so we declined.

Lots of treasures in this one, in fact 11 to be exact. Something for every occasion.
Our last day in Kununurra and we didn't want to leave without finding a couple more caches.
We really love visiting the Crossing so set out early in the hopes it would be nice and quiet, we couldn't believe that at 7.30 am there was already a tour bus there! Fortunately the cache isn't down in the flood zone area so we were able to retrieve it as we left, can't believe that muggles don't disturb this cache.
Whilst we were at the Crossing we noticed 2 caravans camped on the opposite banks in a spot we had visited yesterday whilst finding Crossing Ivanhoe, I had said to Ian at the time that I wondered if people actually camp there when the crossing is shut it looks so enticing. I have a feeling that it is on private property though.

Could not go across today. Level too high.
Thanks for all these caches Bushies2.
They have added an extra dimension to our trip in this magnificent area.

Great place for a break and enjoy the river. Currently the crossing is closed but plenty of activity. TFTC left a tb and shining star
How can you miss a pile of rocks? The answer is - easily!
Anyway, we eventually found said pile of rocks and also the good-size cache.
An aside - how can the fishermen at the crossing be so stupid as to stand knee-deep in croc-infested water????? Candidates for the Darwin Awards, I think!

Quick find, but definitely no travel bug inside. Also so much water I had to literally pour it out! Signed log and ran before the mozzies got to me.
Found it easily after a walk up the hill, lots of water following over the crossing. TFTC
Number 1 of 6 around Kununurra today. I was keen to see whether this Ivanhoe Crossing was anything like the school crossing in the Melbourne suburb of Ivanhoe ..... nope, no lollipop bloke here helping people to get to the other side. Thanks to Bushies2 for bringing us here (and for placing a good-sized cache).
Found at 3.10pm GAFF1. Thanks goodness for a reasonably large container for our last cache for the day. We were in no mood to go scrambling for a mint tin in amongst a thousand rocks at this time of day and especially after going through the Hoochery!
We were on the other side of the crossing a few days ago and it seems that the water hasn't eased up at all since then.
Thanks Bushies2.

Water flowing fast and fisherpeople fishing-crossing closed so no need to attempt it.
Road closed but checked out the fast flowing water ..... Soon had cache in hand Thanks again Bushies2
The crossing was closed, but it was still good to watch the raging waters while finding this cache.
Found while pondering whether or not to attempt the crossing (which we did - twice!)
Picked this one up after crossing over for the other one. Left a TB. Cache is wet, log book bag has water in it.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
We tried twice to cross the river. But with the hire car we didn't dare...
Then we did the cache instead. Nice place.
Indeed the TB that is supposed to be here isn't

Was looking forward to seeing our surf n turtle GC but it's not there! We'll have to hunt for him! Oh well beautiful cache spot anyway! Took ruggers TB. TFTC!!!!
This crossing is legendary and one member of our team was very eager to give it a go, however we had other caches to find and they weren't across the river!!
Wow what an impressive crossing, did the cache and then spent time watching the motorists brave enough to venture across. Thanks Bushies2
